You order up front and can dine-in or takeout. I highly recommend visiting this delicious Afghani spot. If you want to order only one thing, you must get the qabeli palaw, an incredible lamb shank served with authentic basmati rice with raisins and carrots. It's absolutely sublime. The lamb melts in your mouth. This is a great dish to share or devour on your own. The chicken tikka is juicy and melts in your mouth too if you don't like lamb. You can get most dishes for under $20. There are a few seats inside. There is free street parallel parking out front. This is probably the best kabobs you can find in Richmond! Their meals are always so full and the meat is so tender. Definitely try their chicken and beef kobidah. Their rice is also really flavorful and you get the perfect amount of meat to rice ratio. I love that you can get chickpeas on the side. One time I ordered and they were out of the yellow rice so they just gave me extra chickpeas in a huge container. I usually always order takeout from them but I never have to wait that long and the customer service is always good. read more

The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the side of chickpeas was piping hot and was great for dipping the naan bread. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side but it can accommodate a large group if need be. The front door, however, always slammed shut and startled everyone. Excellent food! When you think Kabob, and Gyro you might think a bit dry and one note, unless you drown the item in sauce. That is so not happening here. The flavors are wonderful. So complex and fresh, I could eat here every week. I'm not a garlic sauce lover, so when they provided a mild jalapeño sauce, Sold! There is even hot sauce on the table. There are no drink machines or tea, Only bottled/can drinks. However, there is plenty of seating and while we ordered at the counter, had our food brought to our table in about 15 minutes. The lack of Yelp reviews are alarming because this place is really great. Both the chef and the hostess are as sweet as can be and very charming. It's a small place but can seat quite a few people, and I went with a party of six. We ordered the family platter for six, which can be pricey, but honestly, the food was incredible. We got plenty of side salads, some chickpeas, a whole platter of rice, fresh sauce, and all this meat! The kabobs were amazing. There was so much variety and the meat was very tender. It came fresh off the grill without a very long wait, and the service was great. I would definitely recommend coming here to try their food. The chicken tikka was delicious, so moist, tender and flavorful, unlike other chicken kabob meals I've had that are dry lumps of meat. The food is always made to order and fresh, the rice is fluffy not to mention they give you white and yellow with your order. This is the first time we have eaten here. The food quality is good and the portions are good size. The service is ok. They are not super friendly but not rude either. Nothing fancy about this place but we will come back. I am not a fan of eating off paper plates and using plastic cutlery but lots of places are using them now so i have to adjust.
