Staff is great been going to this office prior to Dr. Ahlawat. Dr Ahlawat is not one I'd recommend. He'll tell you something is good when it's not. It's my mouth I know how it feels. He fit me for a night guard, when it come in it was to tight, very uncomfortable, gave me headaches, felt it was going to pop off my front veneers. He kept telling me it fine. With much convincing he FINALLY filed it down some (hard uncomfortable plastic). I was told go home try it out for a few nights. I had to come back still too tight. Went through this a few times before they made a 2nd night guard. No new impression was done. New night guard exact same issues. Did a 3 night guard, again no impressions done. 3rd night, again exactly the same problems. This time when filing it down it punctured a hole in it. We went back to the 2nd night guard. They filed that one down again. Now the filing of night guard #2 makes it flop around in my mouth and adjust my bite during the night. In the morning my bite is off. Dr. Ahlawat told me that's normal for the guard to do that. I've had night guards for years never had one readjust my bite, it's not a retainer. I went to another dentist for 2nd opinion. I was told not to use that night guard due to the wobbling and the changes in my bite. Go back use my old one I had previous to Dr. Ahlawat. Spoken with the doctor in person, on the phone several times, he will not entertain refunding my money for the night guard I'm unable to use. IMPLANT -Dr. Ahlawat did a couple implants in my mouth (no unfortunately I'm not new to the world of dental issues). I needed 3 implants however due to cost I asked if it was necessary to do implant on tooth 15, upper quadrant, he said no. Come to find out by not doing that implant on 15, the lower teeth will start rising up looking for the upper tooth for biting. read more

Absolute worst experience! Treated very poorly by the office staff ! Treatment coordinator is extremely rude , judgmental and unprofessional! Doctor lied not only to me about the treatment that was to be preformed but also billed codes to insurance company for root canal when no root canal was performed! 10 out of 10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! read more

Let me start out by saying that I grew up in the dental field being that my mom was a dental hygienist for 20+ years. Shortly after graduating from high school my family moved out of AZ and I decided to stay here. Since that time, I've bounced around from practice to practice trying to find the right Dr. It seemed like every place I went I met with arrogant doctors who lacked professionalism and wanted to charge an arm and a leg to compensate for their poor financial choices. A good friend of mine who actually worked with my mom referred me to Arizona Dental Heights. She was familiar with my past experience and I stressed the importance of seeing a dentist that is great with kids, now that I have a family. She assured me that Dr. Hatch was phenomenal with children being that he is a family man himself and that after one visit I would never look for another dentist again. Needless to say, I am 150% satisfied with Dr. Hatch, his staff and his work! This is one Yelp review I wish I could give a 10 star review on. One last thing I have to mention, Dr. Hatch did some bridge work for me a while back. Shortly after, it was determined I needed a root canal on the anchoring tooth. Not only did Dr. Hatch advise I see a specialist (because I'm in the .000000001% of the population with a ridiculously deep root) but the specialist that performed the root canal (he's been in the field for 30+ years) asked where I got the bridge work done because it was the most aesthetically appealing work he's ever seen, EVER! he even brought some of his staff in to look at it! Patients BEWARE! If you want to get the true picture of this place read the 1 star reviews. If you want to see what his fellow church members have written without being real patients read the 5 star reviews. They have a pattern. If you see a 1 star review they try to bury it with 50 non patient reviews on top so you won't read it. Most of the dentist office here does it. Brilliant! This dentist cares less about patient care and all about the almighty $$$$$$$$. I went to him for a crown that he advertised at this affordable rate in the paper, and talk about bait and switch. I paid over $900 for a single crown, prep, and buildup. (average $500 or less) Then within a month the crown falls out. He charged me another $135.00 cash with a "lifetime warranty" that if it falls out he will not charge to cement it back in but I had to continue getting my 6 months checkups there for it to be valid. The office staff Brooke & Destiny stated it was submitted to the insurance company and not covered so I paid the amount. I then called my insurance company to verify their story. The insurance company stated they never received any request for payment or pre-authorization and had no idea what procedure would be cover without reviewing. They asked for me to send the bill so they could review it because they keep a history of all procedures performed. In the end the insurance company sent me a check for the full amount that I paid, and the doctor's office was paid and had to adjust off the correct price that is contracted with insurance and not this over inflated price they charge. The insurance company BC/BS stated they will be watching this practice and if it continues they will not contract with him. You will need to fact check everything this dental office tells you and if you have insurance discuss it with them. While this was going on I went in for my 6 month cleaning which is covered in full by my insurance. The hygienist stated she was going to take full mouth x-rays and I told her I only wanted what the insurance covers in the 6 month checkup. She stated they write off what is not covered and took the digital x-rays to help with diagnostics. Guess what, I received a bill from these folks for $139.00 for the full mouth x-rays. I called twice and spoke with Brooke & Destiny who proceeds to talk over you the whole time stating they do not know what insurance covers and if you don't pay it, they will send it to collections. However, when you explain what you are told as a patient in the back does NOT happen at the billing office. They argue that is not what I was told in the back. This is not the case here. They had no signed contract that I agreed to for the full mouth x-rays, nor was it disclosed prior to having them completed. They stated full mouth x-rays are usually covered within a 3-5 year span and I must have had them taken at another dentist. Duh, I get my teeth cleaned every 6 months. They failed to verify with the insurance prior and stated it is the patient's responsibility to know that the insurance pays for or not. However, this is supposed to be their area of expertise. I will be filing a complaint with the AZ dental board about overcharging and possible insurance fraud. However, the board has a history of doing nothing since they protect each other. See channel 12 reports on the AZ Dental Board and their failure to protect patients and you will see what I mean. I want to warn other possible patients what you are in for if you chose to go to this dentist. I hope you have deep pockets of cash because they want you to pay first then you ask the insurance for reimbursement. This is NOT how insurance works. After the conversation today and bringing these issues to their attention they told me to take my business elsewhere. DONE! Wait, I paid cash for a lifetime warranty for my crown??? Dr. Hatch and the staff at Arizona Dental Heights were beyond amazing! I would highly recommend them to everyone. I took my elderly father there today for an exam. He has pretty severe dementia. While they were not able to help him today, Dr. Hatch was able to steer me in the right direction and explained what I needed to do for his care. I have a huge crippling fear of the dentist. I have let my teeth get worse than I should because of this Fear. I recently found Dr. Hatch and his team and they have turned me around almost 100%. They made me feel safe, comfortable and at ease. I also didn't feel judged or ashamed for the condition of my teeth. They didn't lecture me they were honest but kind. Not to mention they make their crowns in office and they are beautiful, you can't tell they are crowns. The office is very clean and appealing to the eye as well. read more
