My son and I went to a recent Crossroads of the West gun show in Phoenix, my son intended to buy a pistol. We went to many vendors at the show, he almost purchased from 3 different vendors but none provided that extra effort needed to get him over the hump so he kept looking. We stopped at the Arizona Firearms display and started talking to PJ, it was our first ever interaction with Arizona Firearms. We found PJ a real pleasure to work with, he gave his complete and undivided attention to my son and really personalized the service opportunity. He offered my son several options but without pushing him towards anything specific. In the end Rob bought a used SA XD-40 for a great price. He was completely satisfied with the entire transaction, both of us became full-fledged members of the Arizona Firearms Bandwagon Society that day. After working in retail environments for half of my life I was really impressed by PJ's style and professionalism. Dealing with the public every day is not something everyone is cut out to do and doing it across most of your life takes a special mindset, PJ was very good at it. Fast forward about a month and I was now ready to buy another pistol. I called Arizona Firearms and explained to PJ I was ready to buy another gun and I wanted to buy from him BUT I could get the pistol I wanted cheaper at a local competitor. He thanked me for calling him first and giving him the opportunity to price match-----That really impressed me!!! He told me he would price match, he would have to order the pistol so come on in and put down a deposit and he would place the order. That's exactly what I did, I picked up my new CZ P 09 4-5 days later and bought some ammo while I there also. I believe I could have found the ammo cheaper from a different source I use but I found myself wanting to spend additional money with these people based on the 2 transactions I've noted in this post. BTW, Julie is a great representative for Arizona Firearms also. My wife and I have been small business owners for many years and especially because of that we want to support other small businesses so I will continue to frequent the Arizona Firearms Tempe location as long as PJ and Julie are there, they both have earned my business. I also now have my other son on the bandwagon as well so pretty sure he'll be adding to his firearms collection soon. The bottom line is: If you're interested in buying a firearm and you're in the Phoenix area go to Arizona Firearms(Tempe) and ask for PJ or Julie, I can't imagine they wouldn't treat you right. Visiting from Florida where we have similar views on this topic. This is a Great shop with fantastic pricing on a great selection. I like used firearms and always keep my eye out for the unique one of a kind stuff. These folks had great selection of LEO Sig trade-ins at prices I haven't seen since the early 90s. If you have a local shop back home that will do transfers, then you should stop by here in your travels. And they're very friendly to us out of staters. Try getting that kind of attention from the clowns in those big box sporting goods stores. read more

Absolutely wonderful gun store. They treat their prospective customers so well. As a younger person I often find myself being treated poorly by the older hobbyists who usually work in small establishments. I had a couple bad experiences shopping for my first handgun. Most just ignored me or acted like I was wasting their time, one especially bad store (Ted's Shooting Range in Queen Creek) treated me like I was stupid and irresponsible for not wanting to take their gun safety class, despite me explaining that I was raised around guns since a young age and have already been taught gun safety. I eventually ended up buying my first handgun from Cabela's... big chains don't have the best service, but at least they seem to be consistent and rarely rude. Going forward a year or so... I was shopping for a concealed carry pistol. I saw that Arizona Firearms had good prices on some of the models I had been researching. I decided to check it out with low expectations (from previous bad experiences with small gun stores). I was shocked at how nice and helpful they were. I was immediately greeted by a nice lady (I forgot her name) who helped me find the ideal gun. She spent so much time showing me different ones and never once got frustrated with my indecisiveness. I must have examined every handgun they had and she stayed pleasant the entire time. Also they were very knowledgeable and were more than happy to answer my questions. After much deliberation I purchased an M&P Shield 9mm and couldn't be happier. The price was also excellent, even cheaper than Cabela's or Bass Pro... which is not something I expected from a small business. I have come in a couple other times since then and they are always pleasant and the prices are always great. They gained a loyal customer. I will never buy a gun anywhere else again. read more

I've purchased from this shop multiple times this year. The staff is helpful and always takes the time to work with me and find the right firearm or holster for what I'm looking for. I'm a more than picky person when it comes to my forearms, and the staff has always taken this in stride. I honestly prefer this store to some of the others I have been to. I was very impressed by the professionalism and knowledge of the handguns that I was purchasing. Safety was there #1 priority with the handgun. All of my questions were answered and the prices were affordable. I put my Ruger 9mm in Layaway and a few weeks later I was coming to get it and there was a hail and rain storm. I didn't care I was determined to get to their store from San Tan Valley. The shop had all the accessories including a holster, cleaning kit and ammunition all at great prices. I also had an issue with my 380 and they told me to bring it in and they would look at it. If you need reliable guns of about any caliber come to Arizona Firearms. This shop is very fair. Got loans on several firearms and they always pay more than other shops. Bought several arms here as well and unlike some other shops they will sometimes work on the price for you. Picked up a practically new Taurus PT45 1911 for just about $400 with 3 mags and 2 different sets of grips. Went into their shop today looking for a specific gun, most of the guys behid the counter were busy so i just browsed around. When one of them was available I i went up, gave a courteous greeting and he said he was tired. I then said "Hey i have a question for you" and he said yeah, brushed me asaide and then asked a coustomer behind me if he was done and asked if he could check him out. I was blown off mid question by a guy who was tired and sitting on his ass not doiong anything. meanwhile there were like 4 other people shooting the shit that he could have pointed me to to assist me. It was super rude and very disapointing. There were only 3 customers in the shop when this took place, and there were 5 people working. I dont think I should have had to been pushed to the side to get some help. the only reason i gave 2 starts was for the prices, they were very reasonable. They missed out on a sale today. read more

Let me tell you something, if you're just looking for somewhere that treats you with the upmost respect as a customer, this is the place. Never mind this being the best gun place but the best customer service that I personally have ever experienced. I pawned my gun and they gave me a great price for it and when I went to go pick up a couple months later, still the same respect. Fred took care of me in picking up my gun and was super helpful and patient with me, even when Fred was about to leave from his shift he looked at me with a smile and still took care of me. Now Daniel also helped me with purchasing some hollow points. Daniel was very intelligent when talking about the guns and helped with my payments and getting my gun back. I would also like to thank PJ who was also very helpful! Just super respectful to me and also helped me with some purchases as well. PJ helped me out on how to pay to get my gun back! It was the reviews on Yelp - here - that led me to buy my first gun from this store. I am an admitted know-nothing about firearms, but I felt that going here might lead to whatever I needed to get. I know 12 gauge shotguns are great home protection, but I asked anyway: what is the best gun for home protection? The man behind the counter immediately replied a 12 gauge shotgun and pointed to a rack of brand new shotguns. I had to ask questions that only people that don't know anything about guns have to ask - he didn't treat me like an idiot. There is no reason to assume that everyone in America is knowledgeable about guns - if you weren't allowed to have them as a kid and weren't trained how to use them, this is a pretty good reason. I was treated very well in this store and I was shown how to "operate" the thing and not shoot myself or anyone else. He was very patient with me and for that I am grateful. I will be going back there again for my next gun, which will be a handgun. read more

Never wrote a review of this gun shop, and I'm not sure why. Every time I come here, I always see something new, interesting, and most importantly, WELL PRICED! I was in talks with some guy on backpage, who has their own gun shop, and asked for a gun at 300 for 275, they only replied with 'No'. How dumb. Went to AZ Firearms after work and not only found the same gun in great condition, but at 250, with all the paperwork, box, and spare magazines. These guys consistently beat any price I can find, even online...no joke. Don't look anywhere else in the valley for a gun, the real deal is here in Tempe. read more

I've purchased several guns there over the last couple years and had mostly good experiences. On a recent trip however, one the the salesman, a fat, old, grey haired man just about lost his mind and was very rude. He acted as if I was inconveniencing him when I asked the price of a 20 rnd pmag, then out of no where he flew off the handle screaming at me and nearly had a mental breakdown. That guy has mental issues and doesn't belong anywhere near firearms. I was a loyal customer but as long as he's there I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Arizona Firearms does not support the 2nd amendment sadly. There has been a huge battle to win the right to carry firearms in Arizona, but this store does not allow firearms to be brought in or carried. I went in to buy a second holster for a pistol I purchased from the store, told the young clerk that I would be bringing my pistol in, then brought it in, and made sure that I unloaded the revolver in front of him. I then tried to find a holster to fit the pistol with no success. Upon picking my pistol up from the counter, he told me that the store prefers no firearms to be brought in and if they are they must be unloaded outside on the street. (I'm not sure this young clerk would know the pistol was unloaded if you did it out of his sight! Not a lot of IQ in that decision!) I then asked if this wasn't counter to 2nd Amendment rights and didn't sound it like Gun Prohibition and creating a gun free zone (in a gun store! LOL). Then a second clerk chimed in (another young man who never served by his look -- I asked and his face discolored by the way) that it was basic gun safety for all firearms to be always unloaded! That's a real endorsement of the 2nd Amendment --That firearms if allowed in a location must always be unloaded! This is a sad case of PC thinking affecting the sellers of firearms and the people who work there. Think about this if you are thinking about giving them your money. read more

I'd driven by this place many times, and finally decided to stop in yesterday afternoon. I walked in to a lively and raucous discussion among the 6-7 salesmen about a customer who'd just left. She was, from what I gathered, a very attractive blonde woman, and drove a convertible BMW. The employees were enthusiastically speculating about how much ejaculate she must have swallowed, and how many times she must have performed fellatio to afford such a car. Despite the 20 years I spent as a construction worker, even I was appalled at some of the comments made. What was even more disturbing was that the staff didn't seem to care that customers could, and did, hear their comments. I spent about 8-10 minutes in the store, just enough time to do a quick scan of inventory and prices, and the conversation continued the entire time. Plus, it wasn't until I was on my way out of the store that one of the employees asked if there was anything they could help me with. Considering their brazenness, I have to assume that they talk about any and all females that enter their store in similarly derogatory terms. Don't take your wives, daughters, girlfriends or any other female to this establishment. Their prices and inventory are otherwise very reasonable, and under other circumstances, I probably would have purchased from them. read more
