My mom sees Dr. Adriana Sanchez, and we are extremely pleased with her service. She listens to her patients and addresses their and their family's needs in a kind and compassionate way. Dr. Sanchez recently fine tuned my mom's new, rechargeable Oticons and configured a device that allows her to amplify the television directly to her hearing aids (vs. increasing the sound for all of us). My mom--and the rest of us--are very happy with how the technology performs. The team at Arizona Hearing Specialists doesn't rush patients through, and they don't run late like many other medical providers in town. The stars are for the audiologist only - she seemed very competent. The poor rating is for my office experience. I made an appointment there because I lost one of my very expensive hearing aids (over $3000 each). I only needed to replace one of them. My insurance on them expired 1 month prior to the loss. During my exam I reiterated that I only needed one new hearing aid. After my appointment I was told that my insurance would only pay for 2 new hearing aids in order to get my benefit. I chose to wait and called my insurance company the next day. They told me that my benefit would cover either one or two hearing aids and that the practice simply needed to send in the paperwork for the one hearing aid. I chose to go to another practice where this was not an issue. I have recently received a small bill (after insurance) from Arizona Hearing Specialists for the exam completed in June 2023. I am not happy with my experience there. I feel they tried to force me to spend thousands of dollars unnecessarily. read more

My new Insurance in 2018, with AARP Medicare Complete (HMO), offered doctor offices for me to get my hearing checked. I hadn't done that in the past but last week while in a HOA Board Meeting I did seem to have a bit of trouble hearing all that was being discussed. I started my research on the Doctors at Arizona Hearing Specialists, on La Cholla Blvd in Northwest side of Tucson. It appears they have 2 other locations on Sunrise Dr and in Green Valley. Six Doctors to choose from and after reading each of their credentials, schooling, etc. I chose to get an appointment with Dr. Gregory Swingle. After the hearing test we walked back into his office and he discussed the results of the test. Now here is what I appreciated most about this Doctor: He explained the meaning of the "digitized" Audiogram result. There was an area of concern of the left ear and I was able to understand his explanation as well as looking at the result. His concern was enough to add that I might see an ENT doctor before just going into hearing aids. On my request we discussed the pricing of the hearing aids and I told him I would see the ENT and come back. I also liked that he didn't recommend the ENT doctor. If I had asked him I'm sure he would have had a recommendation. Dr Swingle was calm, professional and got right to the test. When I called to make the appointment, Beth was friendly and efficient. She mailed me forms which allowed me time to fill them out at home. She greeted me when I walked in and has a great smile. I liked this office and the two folks that I interfaced with. I recommend this office, nice waiting room and a bigger than usual bathroom ha-ha, and finally a mini fridge with mini water bottles. "PJ" read more

We have been receiving services for many years. The audiologists and staff are professional and pleasant. The office waiting area is clean and quiet, although there is rarely a wait time for our appointments. We have confidence in their integrity and the quality of services. Yes, hearing aides are expensive; but the available options for optimal results at least provide a good choice for the prices paid. They also offer informative educational seminars, without charge. I have been going to Arizona Hearing Specialists for at least 16 years for my hearing loss needs. About seven years ago I started taking my mother to improve the quality of hearing aids and care for her hearing loss. We have both always signed up for the maintenance program to keep our aids in the best operating condition. The staff are always courteous, do not rush you, attempt to care for all your hearings needs. My hearing loss is different form loss that comes from aging; my hearing loss was diagnosed when I was 30 years old. My impression of hearing aids were not good, they amplified everything, so I wouldn't wear them on a regular basis or would only wear one. Once I visited AZ Hearing Specialists, my hearing became more normal and eventually has gotten to where I forget that I have them on. I highly recommend them for anyone that has any kind of hearing problems, I feel they are one of the best in the Tucson area. read more
