They did a good job putting new injectors in last year but recently they "fixed" two issues I was having with the accelerator and shift sensor. $800 later I get the truck back and both issues are still occurring. I schedule an appointment two weeks out to get it looked at again. Even with an appointment my truck is sitting there for two full days and not even looked at. I'm also told I would pay a diagnostic fee to have the truck looked at if the issue was caused by something different than what they "rectified" the first time around. I fix your roof and tell you it's good to go and then it leaks in the same part, and then when you have me come out again and I told you I have to charge you to come out you'd tell me I'm crazy. I have an '05 Excursion. Thought I had an injector go bad. They replaced the injector and then said it wasn't the problem. On to something else. Replaced that. I also had a leak (visibly) in the coolant housing - it was still under warranty from out of state. It was a pain in the ass dealing with that issue to get it covered and they fixed that but said I still had a leak from a clamp on a lower hose. They wanted to charge too much for a simple clamp. My husband can easily do that. Got it home and leak was worse than before. Took it back. They charged me $100 to inspect it to say it was still the clamp they told us about... "he changed the wrong clamp" they said. So he changed the other clamp on the lower hose. Still leaking. Took to another shop and they found the leak. Not the clamp at all. Turned out it was a gasket that was cracked. Problem solved but not by them. They were nice but had many challenges along the way and when it came down to it- they didn't fix the problem and were so certain they knew what was wrong without really listening or digging deeper with our feedback and charged us for an inspection when it was really their error. read more

They do amazing work! My 2006 Ford was a mess, sand in the engine, it ran poorly. It had to be towed in to them. Now it's better than new! They flushed the engine, put a coolant filter on it. They tuned it up and put an SCT tuner on it so now it actually is an F-350. And they did the injectors. The truck is a hot rod now! Mel is wonderful, I love her, and they have the best techs. Be cautious! We we took in a truck we were interested in purchasing to have them check it out before we bought it. They told us a few things that were wrong with the truck which were minor so we bought it. When we took it to our mechanic to make the repairs he found there was a crack in the transmission housing and that the engine had been replaced previously. If we had know about these issues we wouldn't have bought the truck. Oh and I didn't mention that the clutch had been replaced also. Our mechanic found all of this immediately. read more

I brought my 1999 Dodge Diesel in because I was having some fuel leak issues. A neighbor had to come out and help me bleed air out twice so I could start my truck. It would usually take about 1 month between bleeds before I couldn't start my truck and would need to bleed it again. We live up in Ash Fork and homestead. We are very much off grid (a little rain, a little snow and you can't get in or out). We rely on this truck to haul our water (no water or electric up there) so it's really important that our truck is running. I had brought my truck to a place in Flagstaff and they (a reputable company it looked like to me online) ignored the leak, fixed some other things and then told me that the leak wasn't a problem. I was really leery to bring my truck anywhere after that. We came down to Tucson to stay for a couple of months - just barely made it with my truck, then had to bleed the air out to get it in to Affordable Diesel. Jason told me that an Airdog Lift Pump should stop the leak. I was a little hesitant about this at first. I did some reading and some people seemed to love it and some people talked about issues like inline fuses being blown. But after talking to a few more places, reading more about the pump and comparing online reviews to several different places, I decided to bring it in to Jason. When I picked my truck up it sounded fantastic. Jason showed me where the pump is located (much easier to access than the old fuel filter). I brought it home and then waited a couple days. The gas was on EMPTY and it was really cold the morning I started my truck up. A perfect start. No problems at all. I've done the same thing a few more times during really cold mornings and I've driven it around a bit here in Tucson. Perfect so far. Sounds great. No more sputters and heaving - just a nice clean start and consistent rumbling. I should also add that the price he quoted me was in that same vicinity when I actually paid. Very very happy with the service at Affordable Diesel. We love Tucson so we'll be here on and off throughout the years to come. If I'm able to, I'll always wait until we're out this way to have my truck serviced at Jason's place. Just seems like a reliable, affordable and honest place to go. I travel the country and it's tough to trust businesses in a strange location. I looked at the google reviews and this place doesn't have a bad review. Never seen this before in my life. Statistics are a bitch, but this place has avoided that ultimate outcome. Anywho. The owner's name is Jason. He works on the Duramax. He has another white gentleman that works on Fords(former 27 year ford mechanic). I can't speak to the Dodge's Cummins. Just got my truck back from this place. I have a 2005 Chevy Duramax. I had the EGR deleted, a PPE tuner installed, fuel filter changed, oil, and air filter. Total cost was roughly $1,100. After the parts came in, Jason did it in a day. Even was nice enough to drop me off at the hotel and come get me. You can't beat that. I can't recommend this place enough. In the end. My mpgs on my first long trip went to 24 mpgs. My wife and I found out about Arizona's Affordable Diesel through a FORD FORUM internet site. Who ever recommended Arizona's Affordable Diesel sure should get a BIG present from Santa! After getting ripped off at the dealership in Sierra Vista time and time again, we took our 2003 diesel F-250 to Jason and Shawn and the gang. I cannot say enough about how great they treated us, how fast they diagnosed the problem (Ford's 6.0 sink bomb), their professionalism, how well they explained the problem, offered a solution and to top it all off - saved us THOUSANDS by us not going to the local rip off dealerships in Sierra Vista or Benson! They even performed additional assistance for free - unreal. If my truck caught fire and I was hundreds of miles from their shop, I would just drive as fast as possible to get to them or let the truck burn along side the road. Had a constant nagging P0401 insufficient ERG flow code on my 6.0 Excursion for years. Dealer changed the egr valve, didnt work. Other shops always said it was the egr valve. Had the guys at AZ Afford Diesel look at it and they dug deeper than the simple fix. First shot was replacing the MAP sensor. After that didnt work, they found a missing gasket on the egr cooler that the previous shop in CA forgot to install during the head stud replacement. While they were at it, they noticed the unison ring on the turbo was sloppy and replaced and cleaned the turbo. It took a real shop to find the mystery problem that others couldn't.
