We asked for a quote from My WIndow Solutions, got one that was quite good. We had explained the rationale for getting a replacement window (the leak). Parry sent over his crew right away to caulk around the existing one so we wouldn't get any incursion while waiting for the new one to arrive and get installed. Nice! For this job, I had also asked to have a custom window casing and deep windowsill built. When I moved into my house, we had sails up that were pretty, but extremely cheap. We could tell…read morethey weren't going to last and, sure enough, they came down in less than a month when the first strong winds picked up. We wanted to match the feel of privacy and shade that the sails had provided, but wanted a solution that was built to last. I talked with several contractors and got different quotes. Although Got Shade was not the cheapest one, I decided to go with them because Derek was extremely helpful in coming up with a design that was better at giving us what we wanted than what we even had in mind originally. I really have to give him credit for his patience and willingness to work with us to come up with different ideas, putting together revised proposals, and even renderings to make sure we were really happy with the design. Once we signed the contract, Eric and his team were out about a week later to install the posts. The posts look really nice and have a powder coating that should prevent any rust for years. The posts themselves are galvanized steel and, unlike our prior sail install, surely won't have any issues in the wind. Eric was great to deal with, answered all our questions, his team was quick, and they cleaned up everything completely after the posts were installed. About two weeks later, the sail had been fabricated and they came out to install it, which took less than an hour. Overall, we are very satisfied with the sail and the entire experience with Got Shade from consultation to design to final completion. It's an investment, but a worthwhile one to know that the posts and sails are going to last and look great for years.
