We wanted to stop by for a light breakfast before hitting the Bellayre slopes. Don't judge the place by the decor as it's a no frills place. You walk in and place your order and there is a dining area down at the end. We got the veggie omelette with broccoli, zucchini, and spinach and comes with home fries and toast. The omelette is decently large as they use 3 eggs. Omelette itself was pretty tasty. My son got the French toast with banana and Nutella. That looked so good and he gulped it all up. The first time you go, there might be some confusion on which side to enter through. The short answer it, if you are facing the building, go to furthest door to your right. The place a nice outdoor area with some tables, it was chilly when we went, but were still able to sit outside. There are no heaters out there, not sure if they have some on colder days. We went for breakfast and the food was decent. I won't say its the best breakfast I've had, but it hit the spot. I wish there were signs or arrows explaining how the customer supposed to enter and leave or flow through or interact with the business. The staff were all really nice and friendly - Just what you would expect in Delaware County! That said, the breakfast sampler was excellent and their collection of available and delicious hot sauces genuinely impressed me. My only real complaint were the bees who wanted very badly to share breakfast....but I can't really blame them, so good. And the kid in me enjoyed ordering breakfast in a real caboose and eating right next to the railroad track! I just wish the train was running the day we were here. read more

It is hard to find breakfast in the Delhi, Stamford, Grand Gorge, Roxbury area. A place that takes cards and isn't McDonald's (Delhi) and is open at 7:00 am. I finally found the Arkville Bread and Breakfast. At first I thought it was a "Bed and Breakfast". It is hard to find the door and parking is weird. I had to park at the Distillery next door and walk over the RR tracks. I walked in and looked where to sit? The people behind the counter acknowledged me and I went into the dinning room. I waited for some time until I asked another customer if I had to go to the counter to order! Yes, I did. SMH! The I ordered an omelet with home-fries and toast. Food was good! Had a great experience here 2 weekends in a row. The space is unique, spacious and good for small groups. I had pancakes on my mind and this was the perfect choice for breakfast. Also enjoyed a made to order waffle loaded with fresh berries n whip. Multi-grain bread paired w/over easy eggs was great also. All this food and 2 large coffees for around $22. Waitress and cook were friendly and efficient as they cranked out breakfast for a steady flow of customers. They work really hard so show some love in the tip jar. We were going to get egg sandwiches and get right back on the road, but after seeing how charming this breakfast spot was --- a train depot -- we decided to sit outside. The bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches were delicious. They have a variety of bottles hot sauces near the register, so I was able to spice mine up. Someone else ordered the French toast, it was spectacular, I had to beg for a bite... Yum! The owner works the grill, whistling away... At one point he popped his head outside to see how everything was (it was delicious), he saw our pup and promptly brought out a bowl of water. So kind! Very impressed with this breakfast spot and they do things right here. When I say do things right I mean clog your arteries with delicious breakfast foods. We were in town for a wedding weekend and it seemed like the only legitimate thing that existed after a Yelp search. Their menu has lots of your typical breakfast offerings, and some extra items with a twist. We loved everything here and had to come back for a second day in a row. The Hungry Man sandwich (3 eggs, cheese, ham, bacon, sausage, hash) is not for the weak. Even better was the Croque Monsieu and Croque Madame. Imagine thick Challah french toast grilled cheese with ham/bacon with or without an over easy egg on top. Heart attacks all around for everyone, but this place is worth stopping by for it. This small town setup is a caboose literally next to train tracks. Place your order inside, have a seat under the tiki huts outside. First of all... just want to say something... the people who recommended this place to us called it "Farm to Table" ... it is NOT. So if you want locally sourced ingredients and good maple syrup and such... this isn't that kind of place. I was also horrified by the site of styrofoam cups at the coffee station. Grody. What surprises me is, I met the owner of this place at Peekamouse Tap Room (Farm to Table mecca), so when I went to eat there, I figured it would have some local ingredients on the menu... it didn't. Boo. Ok... so anyway... What this place is... a great greasy spoon joint. Prices are good, food was good, my pancakes were pretty tasty and loaded with bananas (did not put that goop from the table on them as it was aunt jemima or whatever). My boyfriend had this sampler breakfast that was so big... IT CAME ON TWO PLATES. woah. The coffee was pretty good, the food was pretty good, I would have given it a three star review but... THE LOCATION AND VENUE ARE GROOVY. Looking out the window at the train tracks, the mountains and the funky setting put this place up a star. This place is AMAZING! Built out of an old rail car Jack will make you the best breakfast you've ever had and he sings while cooking in the kitchen! He's got a great voice too! I got a 'Hungry Man' sandwich to go before I went hiking up to Dry Brook Ridge. The whole time I could smell the still warm sandwich in my backpack. It occurred to me that if I could smell it, all bears in the area could too. And sure enough, I spotted a bear briskly walking directly towards me through the ferns, mission-focussed and with intent. It looked straight ahead with its nose in the air. There was no doubt about it, that bear had smelled the Hungry Man. That bear wanted my lunch. Recognizing I wasn't going to give up my sandwich, at about 20 yards the bear turned away and disappeared back into the woods, unmistakably disappointed. I don't think I've ever enjoyed a sandwich more than I did that day on top of Dry Brook Ridge! read more
