Yes, Yes, Yes! Their chicken is so dang good. Their fish is so dang good. I will admit, of all reviews, the least of them would be "soul food". I'm so happy a friend told me about this establishment, actually, a fellow Yelper. Their chicken is so fresh, and the crunch you get with every bite, every seasoned bite....Heaven! Their fried fish is the same. They use real catfish, whereas some places claim you're getting catfish, but you're actually getting Swai at the same price. I like the fact that they have an à la carte menu. I can get a piece of chicken with a side, without overdoing it with the fried foods. If you haven't given them a try, please do!! Note: Make sure you check out their schedule before going, they're not open every day.

This place is absolutely delicious! I love their fried chicken, their sides and the owners are truly the most amazing people on earth !!! I love their greens (insert drool face ) so good! I love the seasoning on the chicken and it's not overly coated with flour it's just perfect. I can't wait to go back for lunch again. My friend ordered Mac and cheese and I tried some it's soooo good! I'll have to get me that next time.

Walked in and was welcomed. He was as very friendly and explained everything to me. I ordered the 1 catfish and 2 pieces chicken with sides I add hush puppies. The fish was fried to perfection and man the chicken was seasoned so well had a nice crispy skin. The Mac and cheese were so creamy. The hush puppies were delicious. The greens were perfect. I definitely want to try the sweet potato next time. I will try more when I go back. Yes I will go back it was like someone grandma was back there cooking. Come to find out the guy who took my order was the owner. He explained to me that he had opened up the restaurant and his grandma taught him how to cook.

The food was amazing, the service was great, it takes about 20 minutes after you place your order because everything is made to order. The fried chicken was fantastic with a delicious flavor and great crunch. The fried catfish was fresh and an awesome seasoning added to the batter made it all the better, the oakra, and sweet potatoes were equally as good. The restaurant has a very generic atmosphere which lets you know all the attention is on the food and not trying to bring customers in based off looks, its all about the food quality. Definitely recommend trying this place.

Although they do not have a consistent cashier, I was greeted by a wonderful man with a huge smile & Happy to answer my questions! Being from Chicago, I have high expectations for fried chicken & When I say this is some of the BEST I've ever had!!!!!!!!! & when I was looking at the screen they have that shows pictures of the food, I saw a saucy wing. I asked about it & was told it was their house sauce that is sweet & spicy, I asked for it to be added & I'm glad I did!! It reminds me of a "mild sauce" but honestly, it's the best one I've had! The macaroni & cheese + yams also hit the spot! The Mac is very rich, creamy & flavorful. The yams I was honestly skeptical about because I didn't see any cinnamon or brown sugar (my favorite toppings), I was worried about the flavor. But I promise, I was NOT disappointed!! Listen, whenever you're in the area, go ahead & bless yourself with this food from the soul. I'm already planning my next visit

The food is very fresh the chicken was seasoned well, the catfish was good. The sides are very good.

Fantastic. Kind and courteous with a quality meal. Proteins are fried to perfection, great flavor, sides are gold. I can see where someone might want some more meat on the chicken but it's pretty hard to complain. Even caught a movie I'd been wanting to see while I ate my meal. 20 minutes on the dot from order, as promised. Call ahead if taking out.

I don't know where this place has been the entire 5 years I've lived in TX BUT I'm glad I stumbled upon it today!!! All my husband and I could do was chew and shake our heads!!! This food hit the spot! It was hot, fresh, and seasoned. I don't think you can beat the price anywhere. The portion size was great too!!! The man was kind and very patient! There aren't many seats on the inside. 100 out of 10!!!!

The food here is always hot and fresh when you get it! The staff is always welcoming and accommodating. I've ordered here at least 3 times now and they haven't disappointed me once. The catfish is fried to perfection. Crispy on the outside and super flakey on the inside. The chicken is seasoned well also with a nice crunch. The sides are pretty solid in my opinion, especially the greens! The meals come with two, but I always order a third because I enjoy them so much. Plus they throw in an extra piece of chicken every now and then. I'll never be mad at that! read more

Friendly service. Catfish was good. Not enough meat on the chicken. Banana pudding = No banana, no pudding, cup of wet cookies. Inside of store smells like old reused soybean oil. Worth the wait for some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. The sauce you get on the side is incredible as were the greens and mac and cheese I tried. Be sure to call in and make plans to eat elsewhere since there isn't really a dining area. A great excuse to find a nice spot at a nearby park to eat outside. read more

My husband found this place on Google as he's always looking for chicken, so when we saw the rave reviews we knew we had to try it! We ordered when they had an hour left to close and sometimes that means your food is going to be questionable but not here! We ordered: mixed chicken plate with Mac, greens, and sweet potatoes. Banana pudding and 3 (homemade) sodas on the side. What we got: everything we ordered hot and fresh and delicious! Eating the sides with the chicken was like going back to grandma's house! The banana pudding? I ain't sharing, get your own! So so good. Sweet and fluffy from the pudding soaking into the nilla wafers. We haven't tried the sodas yet but I'm sure they are tasty and bubbly! Extra bonus: the husband and wife duo are beyond exceptional and kind. A great experience all around. The woman in front of us was a regular and she came out with about 7 boxes of food so you know it's good! If we lived closer we would be regulars too! Can't wait to come back. read more

Please give this place a chance!!! First I will have to note, they are not a sit down & eat place. Everything is Togo, but I appreciate that in a post-covid world where staffing could be an issue. As well they do their chicken made fresh when you order, so I suggest ordering ahead! As well they of the couple benches they have for the about 20 minute wait for your order to be made fresh. (Bonus there are some tea places, a popcorn place & a bakery near by if you want to go grab something from there while you wait!) The chicken is the star of the meal! It is all bone in, and we tried 2 piece dark meal & a wing meal. The sides we did try fries, Mac n cheese & ocra were decent as well ... not as knock out of the park as the chicken but better than most of the chain sides. I can't wait to try a few more of their side options next time we go. Staff was friendly and helpful as a bonus! I hope they get to stick around for a long time. read more

I have had the fish and chicken and when I tell you it is seasoned and cooked to perfection this is a 10 !!!! This the only fried chicken I will buy . The chicken doesn't have the heavy coating that some places have and I love that!!!! It's fire go there and have lunch. Four-star's only for the Catfish the chicken is just OK. The greens are over salty mac & cheese are over cheesy . I ordered the chicken and I got a couple of breasts that were extra dry which is really bad . This is a small place they cook the order so you should order online takes 20 minutes for them to cook the chicken, I would skip chicken and just get the catfish. Catfish is very very good. read more

First time at this place. The reviews captured my attention and I had to try it out. And I am glad I did it was good. My order was made-to-order 3pc Chicken Wings, Mac and Cheese and Greens. The chicken can out hot, fresh and good seasoning. The mac and cheese a good cheesy consistency and taste, as for the greens I would just say ok. I like a bit more kick of heat in my greens. One thing which was a nice touch on the take out set up. The chicken separated from the sides and the foil kept heat and no liquid from the greens. I will be back, I want to try the catfish and banana pudding. read more

Not just another chicken spot but this is a mom and pop, original recipe fried chicken that you cant get at any chains!! I love the owners attitudes and customer service. The chicken matched with their original bbq sauce is THE BEST!! the catfish is something i could eat almost every day. Seating inside is limited as its mostly takeout but you and a couple friends could definitely eat comfortably. Call ahead when you're about 20 mins away to avoid a wait. Not bad... not great either... it's okay . I've heard a lot of hype about this restaurant and was looking forward to trying it out. I've gotten taken out several times. The fried chicken is decent. It's always been fresh but the seasoning leaves something to be desired. It's not that it's not properly brined, but it seems like it's just basic salt & pepper seasoning. The choice of sides is better than most local restaurants. It's average to above average - will likely dine there again at some point. read more

It's small and unassuming--take out only--but fresh and flavorful! Saturday night popped in to bring him some fresh chicken and it was delicious. I ordered the two piece white meal but somehow came home with a breast and two wings. Not worth complaining about. The Mac and cheese was really good and the sweet potatoes were tasty. Tried it for the first time as it was recommended by my daughter. She said it tastes like I cooked it in my kitchen. Ordered a 10 piece, fries,collared greens and sweet potatoes. She was right! Tastes great, just like I cooked it myself. Well seasoned, even the sides were good. I drove from Fort Worth and it was well worth it! I will be going back. Will try the catfish next. read more
