I highly recommend The Inn at Ormsby Hill. It was lovely. We came to VT to see my Sissy run the Maple Leaf half marathon which she placed 2nd in her age group and completed her 50 state! Maryann and Jack are very accommodating and lovely to speak to. The grounds are beautiful with a herb garden, patio and gazebo where we spent our evenings after dinner. Our room The Lincoln was spacious, clean and bright. Fresh baked chocolate chip cookies were there in the evening when our bed was turned down...what a treat! They accommodated my dietary restrictions (Celiac Disease) which I truly did appreciate. Breakfast was delicious and eggs made with fresh herbs from the garden and berries! Nothing spared, all conveniences from the jacuzzi to the gas fired fireplace, Comfortable bed, modern bathroom and we really had plenty of space. Lots of love and care goes into this Inn, No doubt you will enjoy your stay, From the time you arrive till the time you leave it's the perfect get away. Highly recommend this B&B. Stayed here in July '22. The property backs up onto Hildene. The views are beautiful and the breakfasts are excellent. Stayed in Gideon Ormsby room, which had a nice porch with a great view, but not right in the sun. read more

We've been coming to the Inn at Ormsby Hill for 7 years now, almost once per year. Once we came here once we were hooked. The inn itself is a gorgeous colonial home with a rich history, and every guest room is richly appointed and spotlessly clean. I am constantly impressed by the innkeepers attention to every detail of our stay. The breakfasts are well-prepared and healthy. The rates now during off-season are very reasonable -- allowing us to spend more money antiquing! We just returned from a weekend getaway and the relaxation was total. if you are visiting Manchester I can highly recommend the Inn at Ormsby Hill. I can't believe that my review is still the only one for this place. They are always very busy -- even during the off season weekend we just stayed there, they were full. We stayed here just this past weekend for the first time. What a wonderful experience! A historic and well appointed house on immaculate grounds. You will feel right at home instantly. Beautiful rooms everywhere. Comfortable beds. Great view especially from the patio. So much to look at and enjoy. On top of all that, breakfast is truly a special experience! My husband and I stayed at the inn over Easter weekend. This was a return visit for us and it did not disappoint! The inn and the room is spotless, well appointed and wonderfully respectful of the houses long and historic past. We stayed in the charming Frances room with it's private balcony, his and her bathrooms, two person jacuzzi tub, steam shower and comfortable sitting room. Diane's breakfasts were wonderfully tasty and attractively presented. The coffee from a local roaster is excellent. Diane and Yoshio keep on top of local restuarants and attractions and happily will make calls and give directions to whatever you need. If you find yourself in the Manchester, VT area, you couldn't find a better place to stay. read more

Just returned from a night at the inn and I couldn't be more pleased. As we pulled in we were kindly greeted by Jack (the innkeeper) shoveling away some freshly fallen snow. As soon as we entered the inn I knew I had picked the right place to stay. The property is magnificent, the inn is clean and decorated beautifully. We signed in and Jack helped us carry our bags to our rooms and went over some basics (using the fireplace, breakfast, coffee, wine/beer selection etc). We stayed in the room Anne Eliza, from my understanding this is one of the smaller rooms but worked fine for the night. This room faces the front towards the road, there is a nice view of mountains (equinox I think). The bathroom is quite large, very clean, the jacuzzi and fireplace...just amazing, the bath salts and candles around the jacuzzi were a great extra touch. The bed says queen to me it looked smaller but maybe thats because it's so high off the ground, didn't make much of a difference, it was comfy and we slept well. As morning approaches you'll hear cars driving by but we also had the window cracked opened so that didn't help. The inn is very close to downtown which is convenient with so many eating and shopping options. I don't know anything about the breakfast they offer since we chose to sleep in a bit (yeah even with the cars driving by)and missed it. I'm here because of the Vermont Summer Festival, everything is awesome in this town, the people is extreme nice and helpful,the town is completely georgeous, the view is unique, but even when everything is already perfect, i been stayong in this wonderful house/hotel, small, clean, peaceful, extreme confortable and full of class and history in every cornerr of the building. the dat when i came i meet the owners ( i forgot their names :(, so sorry), they were super nice, gave me a tour in all the house and told me a history why they got it, show me the kitchen, and offer me the breakfast for next morning. for my work i'm usually traveling and visiting different hotels, and i can say, this is one of the moat amazing place i ever seen, it's different than just a hotel, i felt like at home. hopefully for next year horse show i can stay here again. 10000000000% recomended. read more

I immediately thought the same thing when I saw only two reviews. This was our first B&B experience and it certainly won't be our last here. The hospitality Diane and Yoshio have is above what we expected. The inn is spotless from top to bottom and the decor for each room is unique and beautiful. We booked here to celebrate our 15 year anniversary and spoiled ourselves with the Taft Suite. Yoshio was so helpful in helping me planning our weekend. We enjoyed a tour of the Hildene Lincoln Family Home and later that day a side by side room massage in front of our fireplace. Every morning Diane makes an amazing nutritious breakfast and then comes out to greet her guests. The coffee Yoshio takes pride in is Mocha Joes and when you go please ask him about it. Another new favorite of ours and I located it right down the road from our house :) This is a place we will always come back to and we are already planning our next getaway! read more

We enjoyed a mid-week visit here in early Oct to see the VT fall foliage. We stayed in the Lincoln room which was lovely- two person tub and awesome steam shower. The breakfast food was delicious but you have to be an adventurous eater - goat cheese quiche, rum-raisin bread pudding, and zucchini omelet were our meals. A few drawbacks - breakfast is served at 9am which is nice to get to sleep in but may be late if you have a full day and the inn is on a pretty busy road - so just bring earplugs ( they even have some in the room) as you can hear the cars/trucks thru the old windows. We did two amazing hikes on portions of the Appalachian Trail as well as fun shopping in Manchester. Location of inn is just outside of town. The inn keepers can help plan hikes and scenic drives. read more

This is an absolutely lovely inn in the quaint outskirts of Manchester Village. The innkeepers were kind, accommodating, and always welcoming to everyone that walked in the door. Breakfast was served at 8:30 every morning and I enjoyed having a beautiful meal to wake up to. The rooms are definitely antique, but still maintained very well. This was our first stay at a bed and breakfast and the experience has left me wondering why I have stayed at hotels exclusively! The Inn is immaculate and very well kept. The outside area around the back is beautiful and has a great view of the mountains. Yoshio and his wife Diane are extremely welcoming and friendly. You are greeted at the door upon arrival and given history, a tour, and great advice and suggestions for the area. Diane makes a home cooked simple healthy breakfast every morning at 9am which is perfect time to wake up, plan your day, eat and go. We stayed in the Gideon room which has its own private entrance off the side parking lot. If you are seeking a bit more privacy than typically found at an Inn that is the room you would like. The king sized canopy bed is very comfortable, there is a big deep two person whirlpool tub in the bathroom with a door that opens to the room. Our room was very clean and they leave no detail untouched. They think of everything! We had an amazing relaxing couples massage in our room, which was great not having to get dressed and go out into the real world immediately after. We were able to stay in our room in the soft bathrobes and stay mellow. Great Inn, will definitely come back and will be highly recommended by myself and my boyfriend. read more

I have just spent a glorious few days in beautiful Manchester VT and was fortunate to be able to stay at the Inn at Ormsby Hill. I cannot say enough good things about this lovely establishment. The owners, Jack and Mary Ann Orlando, were the perfect hosts. The inn is absolutely gorgeous with spectacular views of the mountains. The breakfasts were delicious, plentiful and served with care by Mrs. Orlando and her staff. My room was lovely and very comfortable. I chose this Inn due to the fact that it was listed on the Select Registry and my wife and I had a gift certificate to apply. It was a romantic getaway that we normally would not have the necessary funds to experience if it was not for the gift certificate. We accept some responsibility due to the fact that we had not read the fine print prior to booking (which said to let the inn we were staying at know that we had a gift certificate when booking), but due to the stringent cancellation policy of this property we had no viable options other than losing our substantial deposit. In trying to work with the innkeepers to come up with an amiable solution we experienced what I can only call poor and inflexible customer service and the stay cost us significantly more than we had budgeted for. The remainder of the stay was less than welcoming. Neither my wife nor I were treated with the comfort and hospitality expected of such a highly rated private Inn. I can agree that the property itself was beautiful and well maintained, but the experience with the Inn Keepers put a damper on the weekend. read more

The Inn at Ormsby Inn is a wonderful spot to stay at. The trouble is you won't want to leave! We stayed in the Tower room, one of their many whirpool rooms, and it was enchanting. As you enter the room the bedroom is 5 steps up, full with canopy bed, fireplace, love seat and tv. The bathroom is up a short winding staircase with wonderful views of Mt. Equinox and the mountains in the distance. The common areas of the hotel are inviting and comfortable, with quite the extensive collection of board games and hot beverages always available. Breakfasts are made fresh with fresh ingredients, the owner puts out a menu of the hot breakfast offered the night before for you to sign up for (ALL FREE!). It is expensive but you certainly get what you paid for and then some! read more

It was a really wonderful place to stay. We arrived on Wednesday, August 10th. Somehow AAA messed up our reservation and made them for the 11th. Diane was able to accommodate and put us up in the Thompson Purdy room. It was a very lush and cosy room. We didn't get to use the Jacuzzi but maybe next time. Though the main living room area was not air conditioned, our room was. I assume the other rooms are as well. In the morning we had an excellent breakfast, a hot quiche and strawberries with a coconut sauce and very good fresh brewed coffee. A cool mountain cross breeze ran through the dining area as we ate. I enjoyed my morning conversation with Yoshi. He knows quite a lot about coffee and its brewing. To my knowledge it is the only Inn in the area that offers a full breakfast. We are Lincoln buffs and visited Hildene. This Inn has significant ties to Robert Todd Lincoln too. Between the historical interest, the beautifully decorated rooms, the Jacuzzi, the mountain view, the full breakfast, and the friendly hosts, we would return here next time we are in Manchester without a doubt.
