ARM builders created a contract for Architectual work. ARM is NOT an architect, nor do they have a license as an architect/engineer. Theyy have a CSLB license. They hire drafters, not architects. The plans they made for my project were not correct. However, no case with the CSLB, as they have no Jurisdiction. Filed a complaint with thelicesning board, but they are not licensed. ARM, Aaron Weiss was fined, see attahced document. STAY away...they can NOT provide architectualor engineering drawings....and they do very poor work. read more

They are dishonest and incompetent. They created a contract using their building license, which actually required an architedture and or engineering license, which by law they are not allowed to do. Therefore, the Contractors' State Licenseing board (CSLB) has no jurisdiction over them. The CSLB recommended that I file a complaint with both the California Engineering and Architectural boards. See the letter from the CSLB. In the contract they said they would design,and draft architectual, plus engineering blue prints to convert the existing garage to an ADU.They did not. They said that an architect would be working on the project but it was not. These types of issues are not reported on the CSLB site. But I did find that have recently been cited for departing from trade standards. They take forever to complete anything They have been "working" on the seismic retrofit They were suppose to be done by July 1 and it it now They keep posted notices extending the work saying they will complete by August 7 this is the 3 extended notice. They only work for a few hours a day and gone after that. I understand they may have multiple jobs in the works. But the fact that they are not punctual on the projected time. ARM Retrofits were great to work with. Aaron was meticulous in the quote, preparing for all of the details - I didn't realize how complicated the process can be with city planning and so on, but he guided us through it. The project manager kept us in the loop throughout the whole retrofit. I was amazed the whole thing even came in slightly under budget - completely unheard of with most contractors! The workers were knowledgeable and able to answer questions. I am detail-oriented and visited the site regularly. Getting the notice that I had to do a mandatory seismic retrofit was not exactly good news, but ARM really did a great job and made the whole process smooth. This is my second review for Arm Builders in a week, I am concerned as to why Yelp did not allow it to be posted. I will try again, for the last time. I was introduced to Nina's kitchen and bath from one of my clients, who suggested that I contact Oren from Arm Builders. I had already interviews 6 other General Contractors from San Diego to Los Angeles. If there is a G-D, he or she sent me an angel. Oren is the nicest person you could ever meet, sometimes to nice. I had the absolute pleasure of remodeling three and a half bathrooms, two fire place mantels, all new LED lighting, new insulation and a brand new kitchen. I had the most fun doing this remodel and working with Oren! I did not have one problem with the entire project, I never wanted it to stop! I have been working with Aaron and Oren for several months now completely restoring a 1917 historical home that belongs to my elderly Aunt and Uncle. After much research and interviewing several contractors I hired ARM Builders because they not only had good references but were open to my ideas of restoring the beauty of a family home which had not been remodeled since my grandfather's work in 1940. Not only have they respected my concerns for the integrity of the architecture and design, they have also recommended several invaluable experts that their company works with. We were able to keep the beautiful original crown molding and they have added so much more to the home with their beautiful finishes. Aaron and Oren have worked with me as a partner in this venture and have been sensitive to the fact that this was my uncle's home that I had to carefully restore. Arm Builders were highly recommended to us by our counter top guy who was working on our master bathroom. We needed to add square footage to our house, add a bedroom, expand the kitchen and add a great room/dining room to flow out onto the deck (which we were also going to tear down and rebuild).
