The building smells like trash. Due to the trash shoot overflow. The management is never in the office. And when she is , she's rude and disrespectful towards certain tenants. The manager has lied about the parking garage space. Stating that the garage parking on Palm is only for 4th floor tenants? When clearly she has tenants who live on the 1 & 3 floor with parking space on the first level garage. My friend is handicapped he has lived at this property for 12years. He had a parking space on the first level garage. The management gave it to someone else and switched his spot on the other side of the property on the ground garage. The cleaning maintenance lady was assigned a parking spot on the first floor garage access? Which in fact she is not a tenant! There a sign that says RESIDENT PARKING ONLY! She's not a resident. It's been like this for two weeks now and the front office isn`t doing anything about the situation. I informed them 09/22/2023 at approximately 2: in the evening and no one has attempted to take it upon themself to correct to issues. I rented a unit for my daughter two years ago. When we moved in, we suffered a lot from the cleanliness of the unit, stains on the carpets, a damaged dishwasher, and leakage in the bathrooms. We waited three months until they fixed all the unacceptable remarks, even after my daughter's hands became swollen due to a soap allergy. Again now we moved out with another suffering. We returned the unit cleaner than we received. We documented everything with photos in both cases. Now the management told us they changed the carpet within 24 hours, because of the stains which were present from the beginning. They denied our documents and even more; they didn't follow the Law of Arizona (ATCP 134.06(3)(c). That is the worst management I have ever dealt with, and if there is a big zero or minus grade in the review, I will give it. I never recommend this place to anyone who wants to rent an apartment. read more

I am a prospective tenant who is very frustrated with Decron's management lack of response. After initially applying for an apartment at the current rate listed, no one from the office in Emeryville got back to me regarding any other paperwork necessary than what was provided during the application process. The price at time of application and application fee rendered was $2575. I understand this is a quote. However, the price for the same unit should not change the same day before I was asked to provide any additional information/documentation and failed to do so. I contacted Decron directly twice to verify the listed unit's pricing and never received a call back. Now the unit, on the same day has gone up to $3,000. How???? Whats the point of even listing prices if you are just going to change them at whim after taking the $49 application fee. I guess this a way for me to know this isn't the place for me. Unfortunate, because the units were beautiful and the Emeryville office staff seemed to be very helpful as much as they could. read more

By far the worst property management company in Los Angeles. Their "team" is completely unresponsive, and never gets back to you in a timely manor. I've had to email executives at this company to get any kind of response to ongoing issues at my building. Even still they don't always get back to me. I've gone as far as having to email the owner of this company. Still no reply. I've lived in my unit for 8 years, and it's been nothing but issues. The onsite building manager, Norm Ferland, has harassed me for the last few years. I've complained about the treatment and no action has been taken. Other residents have come forward as well, and still no action. He sits in the management office all hours of the day, reviews cameras, makes inappropriate comments, harasses residents about guests, steals mail/packages, and wonders the halls at night spying on residents. It's atrocious. I've made complaint after complaint, and for some reason he's still employed. The building is in complete disrepair. They never do routine maintenance, or take care of the building in any way. I've had to resort to making repairs to my own unit out of pocket as it's just not worth it trying to get them to do anything. There have been endless problems with roaches, pests, stray cats, etc. Every time I email them about this, they say there is no known issue, and that they have pest control spray the building monthly. I've lived there 8 years, and I've never once seen a pest control person at the property. Most recently the Mayor of LA has allowed pools to reopen, yet they refuse stating COVID related concerns. They have no intention of reopening amenities at any of their properties. I've seen this theme from many other residents at other properties too. I've emailed about this, and there is no plan of action or timeline, even though the Governor of CA, and the Mayor of LA has said it is safe to do so. There is no rent reduction for them extending closures beyond the government requirements. I've made attempt after attempt to meet with senior management to discuss these ongoing issues, and I was denied those requests by their senior operations manager Rula Almquist, and their team including Augustine Um, Nicole Trembly, and David Nagel, the owner. Their reply was that they were too busy to meet, and too busy opening new properties out of state. I have email after email trying to get in contact with these people, and radio silence. They know that there is really no recourse for any tenant who blows the whistle on them. I thought maybe I was being overly concerned about these issues, but after reading the reviews on Yelp, it is very clear that this is their way of doing business, and has been for sometime. I really hope they take action from within and take a serious look at their business model. They should really consider selling off their company and retiring out of this business. They are ill equipped to operate a fair and equal housing company in the year 2020. Time for new management, and new ownership. People won't stand for their poorly ran business model in this day and age. read more

I have been a resident at Westside Terrace for over a year now and it has to be one of the most poorly-managed communities I've ever come across. They consistently charge $100+ monthly on top of our rent for miscellaneous services we never see used, the entire property is perpetually under construction and during the pandemic they have refused to update me on when the pool might open again even though it has been over 2 weeks since they were given the greenlight by the county to re-open. AND add all this to the fact that my and my roommate's cars were stolen out of their garage last year (the gate was broken and their security cameras don't work) and they told us it wasn't their responsibility or problem. I cant understand why they won't apply the same laissez-faire attitude to re-opening the pool and soon gym, just hang a sign up that says you enter at your own risk and be done with it, the same way they manage everything else.... read more

I'm giving this company a 1 Star for the poor customer service of their west knoll building. I'd give the management here a 0 star if I could. I've been apartment hunting for a little over a month. I submitted interest on their website and when I saw the post on apartment sites I'd contact them through that and never got an email or call. I was finally able to get someone on the phone and told the unit available was not ready to be shown as it was currently under renovations, but would be ready in 2 weeks. Fast forward to 2 weeks, I for the life of me couldn't get anyone to answer or return my call! Finally 6 days after the 2 week mark I get someone on the phone only to be told it's been rented. What a waste of my time! I asked on my first call if I could be put on a waiting list or submit an early application and was told it was not necessary. NEVER live in a building owned by this despicable company. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. We lived in Westside Terrace and left due to BED BUGS - absolutely disgusting. Not only was our deposit NOT returned when we left but they tried to charge us for cleaning the carpet after we left (because it wasn't brand new as it had been when we moved in). We received one letter from them, the reached out and got an email back from the property that they would "look into" the costs we supposedly owed them since we refused to pay when we had to spend hundreds on a new mattress and doctor appointments to get rid of the bed bug bites. Heard NOTHING from them when a shady business calls and HARRASSES us for "not paying our debt." Westside Terrace still to this day despite multiple email attempts hasn't gotten back to us with any answers. This collection agency also THREATENED us multiple times that we had to pay this debt while on the phone with them. These are both awful predatory companies that, if they had any respect for consumers, would have been shut down a long time ago. read more

I lived at the Playa Del Oro property for 5+ years in 633. I had to give notice, because I suddenly lost my husband in that apartment, which made it unbearable to live there. I reached out to leasing and was corresponding with the manager, Malcom Adams. He didn't even have an ounce of empathy(didn't even acknowledge the loss) and was just focusing on demanding a 60 day move out notice, when I am month to month. They have poor business practices. They sent me one Residential Lease Agreement to review that listed a 30 day notice and in the same breath sent me a form to sign that was identical in how it looked, but that change from 30 days to 60 day notice. For someone needing to relocate, 60 days is a huge inconvenience and makes little sense for someone month to month. Outside of the amazing maintenance staff and the location if you travel a lot, there are few other cautions one should take note of prior to moving here. Over time, this place has turned into a college dorm. You will be woken up by college kids coming home after parties, there are fire alarms throughout the day and night going off, there is always at least one elevator out. The hallways aren't well cleaned, so whatever is in the hallways will eventually make their way into your apartment. I would also suggest your packages being delivered elsewhere, because it's always a gamble having them sent to your home. You may not get them. This place is continuing to go downhill and with the unethical manner that the leadership handles themselves, I would definitely question living here. read more

This company is rude, deceiving, and does not take accountability. My boyfriend and I went to look at apartments here and as we arrived, were explicitly told by the parking attendant working at the time, to park in an area that was in front of a gate. Once we parked, we were not warned about the gate or told by anyone that works there to move my car. This was my and my boyfriend's first time ever stepping foot on this property. As we were returning to my car after looking at the units, we see the gate opening and damaging my front bumper. The parking attendant is also seen running to my car because HE KNOWS and REALIZED he was AT FAULT for telling us to park there. I go to the leasing office to report this and talk to a manager. I was given the manager's card (who was off site at the time) and was told to go through insurance as they (the property) will cover the damages. I was verbatim told they would cover the damages. My insurance company did not hear back from Decron (the property company) until constant persistence. Finally, they told my insurance company that this was MY fault and that they were not liable. I then called the manager and reiterated the truth and she referred me to their "risk management" department that handles these claims. The back and forth with this "risk management" department has been by far the worst communication experience I have ever had. No follow up when said, no responses to my calls or emails until I finally threatened legal action. Once I did, I was told that the security guard said he never told me to park there and this was my fault. Looks like he lied to save himself. If only I had recorded every moment of that day, but unfortunately I have too much faith in people, in that they will do the right thing by admitting the truth and take accountability for their actions. Safe to say I will NEVER be living at any Decron property. read more

New to The Ranch at Moorpark and so far I've enjoyed it. Employees here are always hard at work when you see them around the grounds. Every time I go swimming I see maintenance check the pool and tidy up. Gyms and the lounge are always clean and stocked with coffee. They do a great job at keeping the property looking nice but unfortunately some pet owners don't like to clean up after their pets. Also, I've had many issues with my washer and dryer as well but thankfully one of the maintenance men, Moises has gone above and beyond to help and fix the machines right away. Any time I have another problem he is ready to help, I guess electric W/D combos tend to have issues in general but Moises is around to make the experience less stressful. read more

This property management is not cooperative, nor cares about their tenant's well-being. I've been living here since July 2019 and recently been dealing with an awful roommate situation. My roommate & I are both legally on the lease, but she suddenly disappeared and is refusing to pay rent. Also, stole some of my stuff, and caused me a lot of emotional pain and stress. I spoke with my property manager about this for a very long time (almost every day for a month) because I cannot afford to pay both of our rent. Wildly indifferent to tenant requests, and committed to flying in the face of their own supposed "luxury" brand. Luxury isn't lights out for months, paying extra to overhaul amenities that are weeks or months past schedule, maintenance not being done, or leases missing information. Right now, when everyone is stuck at home during a heat wave, we're on day three of no one coming out to even look at the AC. Past experience suggests that we'll continue on this way even with daily follow-up on our part. They seem to feel that they're generously doing a favor, not that they're part of a contract with mutual obligations. It's great to pay full rent on time every month for years (including now, during CV19 layoffs) and get treated worse than you would in a slum- and I've lived in a couple, I have a basis for comparison. Some minimal effort for the price tag and attitude would be great. read more

I live at Playa Pacifica and I absolutely LOVE all the maintenance staff and Isabelle Hernandez. They are the kindest people and if this review was only for them and the property itself--I'd give it 5 stars. This review in particular is for Janelle Barr. There was a situation where I parked in the spots reserved for future tenants. My car was towed. Obviously I was upset my car was towed, but I understand. I was wrongfully parked. HOWEVER. When I asked Janelle if she towed my car--CRICKETS. She literally didn't say a single word and just sat there staring at me. The maintenance man was the one who said "I'm sorry but ya I did see the tow truck this afternoon". Again, Janelle says nothing. She didn't offer to give me the number for the tow company, tell me how to get my car back or offer any sort of customer service what so ever. On top of that, when she left the office for the day, I WATCHED HER look at me in the parking lot, do a double take and then walk the other direction around the parking lot to avoid me. I'm sorry but are you 5 years old? I was wrongfully parked and you rightfully towed my car, I get it. But your entire job is about customer service which she portrayed none. Here we are maybe a month or two later. Yesterday I had gone to Costco and had heavy groceries to carry inside. I park in the future tenant spots to unload my car. I go to the leasing office and ask Janelle if she has a dolly I could borrow. I specifically say "I have a lot of heavy items to carry inside, can I borrow a dolly?" They didn't have a dolly, so I say "ok I'll go get mine from my apartment". In the 3-5 minutes I went to get my dolly from my apartment she had put a fucking tow notice on my car. I JUST talked to you and said I have a lot of heavy stuff to carry inside and I had JUST said I was going to my apartment?????? Is there literally NO grace period of even 3-5 minutes??? Ridiculous. Again, this post is for Janelle Barr's complete lack of customer service. I tried multiple times to privately file a grievance instead of publicly writing a review on yelp, but the company refuses to reach out. read more

Regarding Ascent at Papago Park: Prior to Decron Properties taking over this property, this was a great place to live. Once Decron took over, the place was covered in dog poop and trash, there was constant vandalism (not to mention hookers and drug dealers meandering in and out of the community), and the community looked like it had no management at all. After we moved out, an entirely new battle started. We had a walk-thru with the previous management company and they said we would likely get our entire security deposit back because there was no paint/carpet issue. However, after months of chasing them down for our security deposit, they only refunded $100 of the $700 because of "repainting" and "carpet cleaning." The management office and their headquarters in California must be run by small children with an IQ of 13. Their manager was constantly claiming to "be in meetings" so they wouldn't have to talk to me, which I assume to be a lie because what could a property manager in the ghetto possibly have to meet about 8 hours a day? Don't waste your money here, you can rent a much more beautiful apartment in Scottsdale for the same price if you do your research. If you already live here, good luck. read more

I was given an outrageous renewal and when I reached out to management to explain why that is it is clearly overpriced in an a explanatory email as to why I am requesting a reduction. The manager wrote me back calling me names, factious (by definition: Not to be taken seriously) and cynical to be exact. I myself am a community manager and I would NEVER have the nerve to talk to a tenant like that who is clearly just trying to plead her case. I also mention in my email that their construction crew leaves unit OPEN, and I mean literally... front doors and sliding glass doors open with lights on just inviting transients and vandalism. To make it worse this was happening in my building, but I'm the one who is cynical? I requested to speak with her upper management and she point blank told NO. Its that my right? What if I was feeling discriminated against or RETALIATED against and no one above Dear old Donna will help me? Yes, that's right cause that exactly what happened. 3 Days later I received a 60 day notice to Move out and that they were retracting my renewal offer to renovate my apartment. Imagen my surprise. My unit had Granite counter tops, hard wood floors, a full size washer and dryer with all stainless steal appliances. What exactly needs to be renovated? Well low and behold Donna wouldn't answer my question and claimed ignorance regarding her knowing about this before she offered me a renewal. Retaliatory much? I get in a spat with the manager whom is profoundly unprofessional calling her tenants names and the next thing I know I'm being kicked out. Her excuse was that ownership has a right to do this especially when they are not collecting enough rent on my unit. ( I have emails incase anyone wants to see them, I am more than happy to share all my documentation in order to save someone else from having to endure what I had to.) California just went to ballet with our state becoming a rent control state, so kick everyone out and jack up the rates before they no longer have the right to do so. ( Per rent control laws) Resident retention is NOT a priority to them what so ever. I was never late on rent and was a great tenant, I never complained and was also very kind. Donna is a joke of a manager and trust me when I say couldn't truly give 2 craps about any of her tenants. DECRON takes over the community and kicks out good residence so they can make more money. These are FACTS! I was absolutely retaliated against and disrespected by Donna and Decron management themselves. I have been a community manager for residential housing industry for nearly 12 years and I have never seen such unethical management practices. They also said I had to give a 30 day notice. I moved out the following weekend. For everyone who does not know their rights.. They are legally waving your right to a 30 day notice if they served you a 60 to vacate. It is SOOO important that people know their rights. The state of California is a tenant friendly state and you have rights to. Landlords or slumlords CAN NOT just do whatever they want and should be held accountable for their illegal unethical practices. The entire management staff here is amazing. Kathleen is always eager to resolve any issue quickly and extremely helpful in every situation. There isn't a question I have had that she doesn't have an answer for. Kelsey and Kristie are just as great! Kristie helped us through the entire on boarding process and got us moved in quickly and efficiently! Kelsey is always checking in on us and making sure we are always happy and that everything in the unit is running smoothly. we love our spacious apartment, we love the new package system, we love how quickly they respond and resolve any maintenance issue we had, the view from the second tower is beautiful, its a perfect distance from everything in Hollywood and nestled in a neighborhood to ensure a quiet living environment. read more

Sad thing. Real estate seller is not allowed their right to have their real estate agent host an open house with signage. After approval was given a call had been received that signage was not allowed. The signs were removed and stacked by the front door. The Valencia Town Center development fulfills the dream of a mega builder where the apartments turned condo. In this case, that does not help the sellers therein when it comes to proper exposure of their homes they want to sell. We have never had this issue before and it goes to show you Someone is asleep at the wheel at Dacron properties. I'm confident they won't be monitoring the Yelp Channel either. I have to say that the apartment was a dream come true, with jacuzi, huge bedroom and walking closet. However, the people from the office was very rude, never there to help and constantly trying to get our money. We had to call the maximum CEO several times in order to get heard. But the worst thing is that nobody told us (and there is nothing in the contract neither) that the "fully refundable deposite" is actually never planned to give it back. We left the apartment spotless and after 3 months waiting for the $700 deposit, we got $300 because they used $100 for cleaning the carpet, $100 to general cleaning and another $200 for some other cleaning service... We have tried to dispute this several times and they tell us they always use the deposit money to clean up the apartment, and usually is the full amount... SO BE CAREFUL WITH DEPOSITS AND YOUR MONEY! read more

When my boyfriend and I moved to the Joshua Apartments in Hollywood, we thought we were getting our dream home for the price they're charging, but it turns out to be an over-priced prison. One day at 5 AM, I woke up to find our bedrooms completely flooded with water. The welcome letter they gave us said to call the emergency line in case of "fire, flood, or blood" and we would get a response ASAP. I called five times over four hours and got no response until I went down to the leasing office after it opened at 9 AM. Jacqueline, the Assistant Manager, who had the emergency phone had slept through all my calls. She didn't offer so much as an "I'm sorry this happened to you". When we went to speak to Keith, the Manager, Jacqueline didn't greet us, smile at us, or even acknowledge that we were there until I said to Keith that it seems like she doesn't care. That's when she chimed in with "Say that again?!" and proceeded to argue with me that she is not going to apologize because she didn't cause the flood and she shouldn't have to apologize for sleeping. I have worked at a restaurant and I have worked at a retail store and if a customer called me five times with an emergency and I somehow slept through all the calls, I'd know to apologize and I'd know that if I didn't apologize, I could get fired. If I overslept and was late to work, I'd know to apologize even though that wouldn't make up for it. I have lived in many different apartments throughout my entire adult life, a different one every school-year when I was at UC Irvine and in grad school. Never before have I ever experienced such rudeness and unprofessional behavior from any leasing office staff. They charged us luxury apartment prices, but she treated us like we're prisoners and she's the prison guard. It's like a hellish nightmare and we couldn't wait to get out of there. read more

We were in the property from April to November. During the time we had unit external painting start, stop, start and stop and not completed while we were there. We had gardeners blow dirt and leaves into out enclosed area. we saw water, power, and other utilities go on and off at various times. Worse item is the what was said to us was not what was performed at move out. We were taken at the end with little to no responsibility taken other than "I am sorry". They did not have a plan to open after all this time we still do not have pool or gym access this is horrible. I was told they would once the mayor said we could well we can!!! and nothing... I think I will get together with my neighbors and perhaps a class action lawsuit is needed this is ridiculous to treat the tenants like this.
