Stopped in the store about 18 months ago to inquire about the new Tudor Ranger watch. They did not have one in the store to show me which was fine. I also inquired about other models they had and that's when the experience started going downhill. The blonde woman taking care of me would not show me any watches outside of the case like I was some sort of criminal or something. Although I was bothered, I left my personal information to be notified when a ranger came in stock, For me to view and potentially purchase. A phone call never came. I end up buying one when I was on vacation in Atlanta at a Tudor boutique store. The customer service here was awful. If I could give this store no star I would, they don't deserve it! I was in your establishment and purchased a peridot diamond ring paid for it on my credit card. I arrived at the store Monday, December 4, 2023, to pick up the ring because it needed to get sized. To my horror, it wasn't the ring that I had picked out and they told me that it was the ring that I chose, paid for and had sized and pretty much told me that I was stuck with it. I took the paper work back left the ring at the store and was ready to call my credit card company to see what at this point I can do to get my money back. Mr. Jonathan Romero called me as I left the store to tell me that they would give me a refund back after the obnoxious rude manager stated that they weren't and that I couldn't purchase another ring! Two years ago I purchased a beautiful Omega watch from the C.D. Peacock in Woodfield. I had a wonderful experience with them and when I saw the commercial on t.v. that the C.D. Peacock in Old Orchard was having a moving sale 70% off of their merchandise I decided to go and see what they had to offer. It was extremely upsetting to walk out of a store without the ring that I chose to buy for myself as a Christmas gift. Thank you C.D. Peacock for ruining that experience for me. I, originally, started off at the Woodfield location where I was helped by Austin Keller. I started looking for my first Rolex about 5 months ago. He was very professional and knowledgeable about every aspect of the brand, so I had him help me place an order for a rose-gold Datejust 41. He told me at the very beginning that the demand was high and it might take a while, so he set the right expectation from the beginning. Throughout the last 5 months, he would check in and give me updates, even when he switched to the Old Orchard location. My watch was taking a while and he knew I was anxious to receive it, so one day he gives me a call and told me he got one that he thought I'd like. Never in a million years would I ever think that I would have a favorite jewelry store. But I do now, even though I cannot shop here as often as I would like :) The customer service: The atmosphere is more contemporary and friendly than many other jewelry stores. Everyone seems nice and open, but I have to mention Olga, because ever since our first interaction, we got to like her so much we now look for her specifically. She is personable and warm, and knows the business very well. She makes the point to remember her regular customers. The fact that she is not a pushy saleswoman makes me more likely to make a purchase - and we have made couple of purchases. Product: The product selection here is vast - engagement rings, other rings, necklaces, bracelets, watches, diamonds, Mikimoto pearls, etc. What is more, they do custom work so the options are even beyond what meets the eye. Adjacent is a Rolex Salon with truly an amazing collection of watches and knowledgeable associates. Services: Jewelry repair, watch battery change, and as previously mentioned, they offer custom design. Good story: I have an heirloom silver bracelet that is more of sentimental than monetary value. It needed some minor repair and I previously took it to another jewelry store that was closer to my home - and in the other place I was told that it too cheap for them to deal with. CD Peacock did not make me feel bad, they just did the minor repair. No judgement. Just a smile. read more

I wish I could tell you how much I hate writing negative reviews, but my negative experiences over the past year at C.D. Peacock have been so horrible that I felt like I had to write something so that other people could be adequately warned-- maybe it's okay to buy pieces from here, but do NOT expect to receive quality repairs on them. I want to preface this whole thing by saying that my fiance and I look young (we're 30), and I think this played a major role in the condescension and poor service that we experienced here. My fiance bought my engagement ring here. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of one follow: (a) I LOVE the style of my ring, (b) it was appraised elsewhere for the same value for which it was purchased, (c) my fiance says that the sales associate who helped him was wonderful (but he no longer works there), and (d) after he bought the ring here in March of 2018, we had to get it immediately resized, and they did the resizing for free. After that initial resizing, everything was fine. For about 6-8 months. In the early fall, I was trying in wedding bands at another jeweler and looked down to find that the shank of my engagement ring had snapped clean in half. We immediately rushed over to C.D. Peacock and were greeted by a sales associate who patronizingly blamed us for what had happened to the ring, and said that was normal for such a thin (3 mm) ring that had been resized twice. When we explained that the ring had only been purchased 6-8 months ago, she acted annoyed and was not apologetic in any way. Nevertheless, she took the ring and after we insisted that the break was much more likely due to a flaw in the soldering than me wearing it, she reluctantly agreed to speak to her manager to determine whether they could perform the repair for free. The manager called us back a few hours later to confirm that they would repair the ring and put in a "reinforcement" free of charge. It took them almost two weeks to complete the repair, and when I got it back it wasn't snapped anymore, but it was still a nightmare. I immediately noticed that it was too big-- when I dropped it off, the ring was a size 5.25, and now it was a size 6. The center diamond was so loose that it wiggled, the inside of the shank was a mess of varying thickness, and a few days later, the plating on the inside where they had repaired the shank started to peel off and scratch against my skin. This removed the 18k gold stamp on the inside, and caused a rough, uneven surface (see attached photo). I was horrified, but at the time I didn't want to complain too much because they had performed the repair for free and at least I could wear it again. A few more months passed, and my fiance and I eventually returned to C. D. Peacock to look at wedding bands and test the waters by speaking with someone about the state of my engagement ring. When we walked in this time, we were first ignored until a jewelry designer we recognized from our previous visits helped us look at some of the wedding bands. This is where I want to remind you that we look younger than we are, which probably translates to "won't spend a lot of money" to the sales associates here. This woman was horribly condescending to us the whole time, and the worst was when I brought up the state of my ring and how it was peeling off from the inside; when I took it off and gave it to her, she looked at it with her naked eye and said "tell me again what you think you see." I could not believe that!!! My fiance had spent thousands of dollars on this ring, and I could see the exposed interior of the shank where the plating had peeled off with MY OWN naked eye and you could FEEL it if you ran you finger over it. Again, photos attached. And this woman had the nerve to act like there was NOTHING wrong with it, that I was being overly dramatic. Right there and then we swore off ever stepping foot in that store again. I took my ring to a jeweler in Wilmette and just told them I needed it resized. After that sales associate took it from me, she immediately noticed all the imperfections and was horrified when I told her the story of what happened with the repairs at C.D. Peacock. I felt like I had been gaslit before, but it was so reassuring that another professional was as horrified at the state of my ring as I was. I ended up paying $150 to repair the ring, including resizing, fixing the center stone, and repairing the varying thickness around the shank, but I'm so glad I did because I knew I was in good hands. And when I picked it up again in less than 24 hours, it was as good as new. I would never be able to say the same about my experiences with C.D. Peacock. Spend your money somewhere else. read more

Normally I don't write reviews for places that I have never shopped at. And yes- I have never made a purchase at this store. But I do want to commend this store on its incredible customer service. I was admiring the beautiful watches in the window when the awesome security guard inside motioned for us to come in. REALLY? You want me to come into the ROLEX store??- usually security guards yell at you for looking because you are too poor! :P My friend and I walked in and were promptly asked if we wanted water. We politely refused but the amazing associates actually brought them to us. I decided to look (because dreaming about retail purchases like this makes me more motivated to work harder in law school) and the woman had me try on a watch that really spoke to me. "it's 22". As in 22,000!!! yes. 22,000 for a solid rose-gold diamond encrusted watch. I gently gave her back the watch. SOOOOOO, I would like to say that I had a nice shopping experience here, but I did not get to that point, as we had to leave. We walked in because Babes said I could shop for the Rolex I was thinking about. We had shepherd dog with us who had clear service dog identification on him. We all walked in the store and headed to the Rolex counter and just about the time we got there, the big security guard yells across the store, "hey boss, you can't have that dog in here" now there was some class. I said; not even a service dog? He repeated; you can't have that dog in here. I looked at the idiot in the paramilitary gear with the flack jacket and figured it was not worth the effort, and we left. Just as we were leaving I heard the counter women question his call, but it was too late. As we walked out of the store, Tiffany's next door had a dog bowl out front with water in it. Charlie stopped to drink, and the counter lady at Tiffany's invited us in with our dog. We went shopping. We will never do any business at Peacocks again. No big loss. read more

I was looking to purchase my 1st Rolex and had no idea how hard it is to get one. Ryan was the salesman that help me make my decision on the Rolex that I wanted, a James Cameron DeepSea. Ryan explained that is a high demand piece and there's a wait list and he put me on the list. I will absolutely not be returning and will be sharing my experience with everyone I know (they are lucky I'm new in town). We moved from NY to IL in 2015. My husband go-to gift is jewelry on special occasions (e.g., birthday, push gift, etc.) and we were sad to no longer have access to the jewelry stores in the diamond district in NY. I happened to be in need for a simple yellow gold chain and have been temporarily using a white gold chain. We decided to give CD Peacock a try because our realtor had given us a gift card (that was about to expire) after purchasing our new home in IL. We decided to go to the Skokie location because it had the best customer service review compared to their other location; well my experience was far from positive. I came here in July (would have written a review earlier but yelp requires you to download their app on your phone to write a review) and I was completely ignored. I felt one young lady was literally dodging me. I thought she was helping a customer but she was restocking...or doing some song and dance to avoid helping me. I was clearly waiting for assistance and she never offered to help. Well I didn't want to interact with such a person anyway and asked another lady who was ringing up a customer if i can get some help when she was done. When i was finally being helped (had to be at least 30 minutes in the store before I got any assistance), I asked about some Tacori products but both products were out of stock. The sales lady proceeded to asked if i was here with a gift card from my realtor and i replied yes and ask her why. Her response was that there was "clearly a different shopping pattern when these gift cards are about to expire." Well excuse me.... I asked to see some yellow gold chain to replace the one I was currently wearing. The lady grabbed a tray hidden behind the table and they were all extremely marked up ($500-800 for simple plain chains). I asked if there were any other selection and she said no. I saw a few on display as I was perusing the store (when no one was helping me) and ask if i could see them. BINGO, these chains were more reasonably priced $200-$400. I quickly got one that fit my pendant because I had no desire to be in that store any longer. She took my credit card, rang me up, came back with the receipt and asked me if i wanted a bag for the necklace. No...i just wanted to stuff it in my pocket. Seriously?! Even if I was to wear the one i purchased, I would still need to put the one I was wearing in something. Wow, what a bad experience. I really hope management does some serious training. I may not have been there that day to make a big purchase but the next time I am, this will not be the place. Jewelry/watch is not something one person buys often so they need to start learning to improve their customer service in order to increase their clientele. I recently bought my first mechanical watch from CD Peacock (Old Orchard) and could not have been happier with my experience, and especially with Austin. I called the store ahead of time to let them know the watch I was looking for (Tudor Black Bay Heritage 36). Austin told me they had the watch but it was at their Oak Brook location. No problem -- Austin had it shipped to Old Orchard and two days later it was ready for me to try on. While I was in the store, I ended up trying on several other watches I was interested in. Unlike most ADs, CD Peacock carries a huge variety of different brands (Rolex, Tudor, IWC, Omega, Tag, etc.). I was able to try on just about every watch I was interested in -- all in one location. Throughout this process, Austin was patient and highly knowledgeable about each of the watches and helped me figure out the watch that best fit my needs. And at no time did I feel pressured or that I was being upsold. In fact, I wasn't quite sure what I wanted during that first visit and went home to think on it. Came back a week later and I ultimately bought the Tudor. From start to finish, Austin was incredibly helpful and responsive, even answering several of my questions by text. Bottom line is that I will never go anywhere else for my future watches. I recently inherited a vintage Rolex Air King which had been in my family for decades having been originally owned by my Uncle who had served in the Royal Air Force. I was keen to have the watch serviced but at the same time maintain it's original character, blemishes and all, with no polishing or refinishing. I entrusted my time piece to Paul the watch maker at CD Peacock, Old Orchard and was delighted with the service he Pat and Joe provided at the Rolex Boutique. Paul completed a full service on the movement but respected my request to retain any internal parts needing replaced and not to have the watch polished in any way. The watch now holds time as if it were brand new however still displays the 'marks' of a life well lived for over 40 years. I could not recommend the servicing facilities at CD Peacock more highly. read more

I came to ask about repairing a scratch crystal in my under warrant Rolex (that I bought overseas). All the staff at CDP was super friendly and willing to help. I had been to the Rolex boutique in Downtown where I bought a Rolex for my wife in the past and they were not willing to help and told me to try in the dealer where I bought the watch. Maria at this CDP branch told me to bring the watch and that they would do what they could to get the crystal repaired and that maybe no service was needed as it was a relative new watch. Watch is with Rolex and they agreed to replace the crystal with no service. Based on this experience I recommend the store and if I buy another Rolex it will be here most likely. read more

I've been going between 1-2 stars for a few reasons. I am not a ring girl, so when my fiance proposed almost 2 weeks ago, I mainly was focused and stressed that the ring would be too small (I have a bit chunky fingers). I went into C.D. Peacock today to explain that my fiance ordered the ring from Ritani and that this is a store they recommended for resizing. After coming in and not being greeted by anyone, finally someone approached me as I awkwardly stood around. After explaining that I needed to resize my ring, I went to the table to try on sizes off their ring sizing clip. The lady working with me (I didn't catch her name) explained that I needed a ring that didn't slide (again, I am by absolutely no means a ring-expert, I understand that). The lady (possibly the jeweler, I couldn't tell) that we were working with started asking me why I thought I was the size that my fiance got me (8.5). I explained that I had tried on a friend's ring that was a size 7 and I didn't feel comfortable with it (e.g. it seemed to fit tight and I could see that the ring was squeezing my fingers). After trying on a few different sizes between 8-6.75, the lady working with me kept saying that I possibly needed a 6.75... I explained that I know that fingers tend to swell a little more when it's warm/hot outside. She then stated, "Well, it's warm outside today..." I looked at her and said, "I mean yeah, it's like 55 out, but I know how my fingers get." In addition, I'm aware that when I get a wedding band, everyone that I've talked to and their friends explain that it does get a bit snug once being soldered together. C.D. Peacock didn't mention any of this to me while I was there, which would've been a nice reminder. The (possible) jeweler said that they won't be able to resize it in the store, as it will probably need to be remade. In addition, they didn't know if Ritani would let them send it back or if I needed to send it myself. I explained that my fiance received an email from Ritani saying that C.D. should be able to send it back. The (possible) jeweler looked at me like I was crazy (again, for lack of a better term). Although the experience, in writing, doesn't sound bad, I felt very pressured by staff to go a size smaller than I felt comfortable with. In addition, I felt uncomfortable with the interactions I had with the employees assisting me. It seemed as if they were very rushed and honestly, made me feel "stupid" (for lack of a better term) regarding what ring size I thought I was and how my fiance ordered (in their terms) 1.5 sizes larger than what I actually am (again, according to them). Overall, I just wish it was a more inviting and comforting experience during this exciting time in my life. read more
