Made a reservation to have a girls brunch. I called the restaurant to make sure they also had brunch on Saturday, which they said they did. Sadly, when we sat down we were told they only have brunch on Sunday. We proceeded to order mimosas anyway and order from the lunch menu. The room was very hot as we were seated right in front of the kitchen and front door because no other section of the restaurant had a server. The food came and every single dish was insanely salty. I have nothing against sodium but it tasted like the salt shaker broke and poured into our dishes. We ordered carbonara (dinner portion), puttanesca, and calamari in white wine sauce. The calamari came and was actually in a tomato based sauce. We decided to just call it and asked for the check. This was an unfortunate experience because I really enjoy the College Park location but this one missed the mark. read more

This place is amazing the Owner has been cooking for 16+ years. I had a glass of red from Italy I cannot recall its name but it was delicious. I had never tried it before but the waitress was nice enough to give me a taste to make sure it was something I was going to like and I loved it. They served us some house bread which tasted delicious with butter and olive oil and balsamic. My son had the gnocchi with a side of grilled chicken. That red sauce has a great flavor. I had the chicken marsala that was covered in mushrooms with a side of mixed vegetables. I haven't had the Marcela so many times here it's just always perfectly done. We ended the night with a cannoli which was spectacular. This spot has a lot of seats so it's great to come here for no reason or for special occasions with a small group or a big group of people. There is street parking and the SunTrust building has plenty of parking as well. read more

We had the Spaghetti with meat sauce and the Lasagna. They were both very good. The bread was a little stale though... The service was not bad for eating in the bar. This is a very nice and relaxing spot. It is not inexpensive but I liked it and will be back. Have fun... Went back on a Tuesday night after President's day weekend. I guess that's my mistake... First time here, and the impression left was not expected. Truly disappointed. We arrived, and were seated at an unfurnished table. Our server took 20 mins to take our order, and was profusely sweating. Anyhow, we couldn't get our server's attention multiple times as he seemed completely preoccupied with other things. And when we would, he would respond quickly and run away. So odd. In my initial order, I asked for a soft drink and was given carbonated water. Our server indicated to us their machine was broken (never got the drink I wanted,) but was still charged for it, lol. Our appetizer came and due to lack of silverware, had to wait to eat it. The only saving grace was the entree which was delicious, but the poor service overshadowed the food. We spoke with the manager, and she responded by comping our appetizer. We told her we'd try to come back again and give them another try, but may visit their other location in Winter Park instead - they might be better. read more

I've always been a fan of Armando's in Winter Park. Great atmosphere, great pizza, etc. I was really excited about the opening in College Park, but at first visit, it left a bit to be desired. I chalked it up to new restaurant kinks (never wrote a review cuz sometimes life gets in the way) but I'm happy to report that my last two visits were wonderful. Armando's CP is on par with it's WP brother. My first decent visit was for brunch and I sat outside with my friend and our two pups. Service was great and friendly and the food was good. Prices seen pretty average for brunch entrees and drinks. My second visit is where Armando's really shone. I was with a large group for a friend's birthday dinner, they sat us in our own corner and gave us two servers to handle the group of 16. Our server was great. Friendly, efficient, knowledgeable of the menu and wine, made perfect suggestions. The food was also great, all came out correctly and at the same time. A feat which many restaurants really seem to struggle with more and more with large groups. Food. The pizza. The calamari app that's not fried is delicious. The salmon app is also amazing. I was sort of sad to see my old fave - the bean salad not on the menu... but forced me to try something new. My only complaint.. and it's not even a complaint, is that it always seems sort of empty in here. It needs some livening up, come on College Parkers, go get your wine and pizza on. read more

Eh, I hate to say it but this place was just okay for me. Honestly it really doesn't deserve the 3 stars but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt based on the other good reviews and hoping I caught them on an "off day." During lunch one Saturday a friend and I popped in looking for a snack and a few drinks. We grabbed seats at the bar, mind you we were the only ones at the bar, and were greeted by who we thought was a bartender. He handed us menus and left. No less than 10-15 mins later a server came over to ask if we were ready. We ordered a bottle of prosecco and she was off without asking us about food. Another 10 mins minimum went by and she finally comes over with the bottle. We ordered a few appetizers and hoped service would pick up with the food... which it did not. What annoyed me the most was she was keeping the bottle behind the bar, to keep it chilled I assume, but would take forever to come back to refill our glasses. All in all our visit was well over the normal time for a few glasses of bubbles and two apps, we even had to literally flag someone down to come bring us a check. Again, I'm going to hope we just caught them on a bad day but I can't say I'm amped to go back and find out. read more

This place was incredible. The people were fantastic and the food was delicious! The owner needs to know just how wonderful his staff is. Our business conference with 30 people had an appointment for team building around the corner on smith street. When we were dropped off we noticed our designated spot was closed. Over the next hour, as we attempted to contact the owner some of our folks found Armando's. Scott and the staff arranged tables by the opened slider doors to accommodate 30 people. All while attending to their normal crowd. The wait staff was so attentive you would have thought we were regulars...VIP's!! Needless to say the night was a huge success and everyone enjoyed the food; from appetizers to entrees and desert. We traveled from various parts of the country; Texas, New Jersey, Philly and St Louis. We hope to come back next year when we visit Orlando. The local community has a GEM of an eatery!! Our server spent a majority of his time on the computer behind the counter... my drink was poorly made and it took the remainder of my table to finish their round before we could get him back over to the table to swap mine out. Frustrated to see the table next to us get waters and then waiting another 20 minutes for a refill at the end of my meal. Let me start with this, I love Armando's. I really do. My girlfriend and I have literally looked forward to this place opening for what seems like ever. We were allowed to pick our table because it was pretty slow during lunch so we picked a cozy table in the corner. We were greeted by our server, Audra, who seemed super nice and we asked if we could order off the dinner menu. This was no issue! Score! We were starving so we went ahead and ordered the Beef Carpaccio app. A few minutes later our server arrived with the Salmon Carpaccio and seemed frazzled when we pointed out that wasn't what we ordered. Our entrees were delicious, but our server kept checking on us a ton because I think she felt so bad about the appetizer situation which made us feel a little awkward. Once we were finished with our meal, she tried to make small talk and asked my girlfriend and I if we were "Neighbors, co workers, or sisters". Not a huge deal as I know she was trying to make conversation but trying to have a nice date lunch with my girlfriend was just made a little odd by awkward service. I know they recently opened, but I still find myself a little disappointed. We will most likely return in a couple of months or so to see how this aspect of the restaurant has improved. read more

We've been going to both Armondos for a long time and haven't experienced the sub par service until tonight. We sat at the bar for dinner and drinks and felt ignored on a less than busy night. Having to literally wave my arm to get any attention for wine or to order dinner and no check back after the wrong dinner was "dropped" In front of us. There's too many good Italian restaurants in the Orlando area to spend $100+ to accept a don't give a rats attitude. It's a shame but time to move on Armondos. read more

This review is written to the management of Armandos and College Park. My family and I have given so much business to this establishment, including special events and recommending the restaurant countless times. The general manager is not interested in true customer service, and does not recognize people who frequent a restaurant at all. Recently, a table of eight was placed in the very back of the restaurant in a corner with no ventilation. When we asked to move before ordering our meal and offered to close out our tab. We were told that we could not move. This isn't the first time where requests are just slightly denied with no solid basis. The general manager has all the power to do whatever she wants and she blankly will just look at you and say I'm sorry I can't do anything as if that were really the case. Wow the food here is great and almost all the experiences with anyone except this person are good I feel like this review should be taken seriously because I do understand that she has upset other people in the past with her flat personality and zero flair for Customer Service and care. read more

So we love the food at Armando's ! It was my moms birthday and she wanted to go to Armondos . We have followed the owners from Bravissimo to the many other restaurants but our service tonight was way out of character . Armando's is known for its great happy hour . We all ordered drinks around 6:30 had our first round of drinks ordered our meals and never saw our waiter for a very long time . At around 7:02 he happened to swing by where I kindly asked him for bread then he stated your food is about to come out .We tried to order one last round of drinks and the server stated oops the register would not let me ring up the happy hour sorry and he flitted away . The food is always good but the service tonight was awful ! The server was only nice towards the end of our dinner . I can't stand fake servers and this one was completely condescending to my father who was hard of hearing and could not hear what he saying about the beer options . He was completely flipppant and disconnected to his customers until of course the bill was ready to come out . The pumpkin ravioli was delicious but the customer service needs to improve . It's only appropriate to check with your guests more than once in a 30 minute period and you need to offer bread And oblige your guests and override the register on happy hour when you have not checked on them in over 30 minutes and then at 7:02 tell them happy hour is over . Ugh dissapointing ! It's amazing how such an awesome meal can be negatively tainted by condescending servers who give fake rude service ! read more

Came here for a bachelorette party, and was not disappointed. The seating was a little crowded on the inside but very well placed so it wasn't difficult to move around or anything. I had the Pollo Scarpariello and it was fantastic. Our waiter was very attentive and answered any questions we may have had. All in all, a wonderful night with delightful food. A+ read more

The ambiance and restaurant decor was very pleasant and great for a date night. I was excited I might have discovered a new gem, then came the food. The ciabatta bread was day old at best with oil and balsamic vinegar in a ramekin that didn't allow for the dipped bread to get any balsamic vinegar, just oil. I was very disappointed with my veal piccata. The veal was tough and reminded me of the frozen breaded veal I get from the super market for my kids. The meal says it comes with spaghetti but instead it was served over spinach which I was okay with. The capers were cheap salty hard garbage that were obviously very old. With so many great Italian restaurants in the area don't waste your time with this place. I rarely leave bad reviews but I don't recommend this faketalian crap. read more

One of my go to places for Italian food. This place is classy and the food is great. The interior looks very decent and it is a nice place to be in. There is a small bar and the kitchen is viewable from most tables in the restaurant. The servers are very attentive and they are very knowledgeable of the products they sell from the food to the wine. The food is consistently good. I suggest getting the fried calamari appetizer. It is excellent and a very large portion, enough to share for two to three people. I have tried the chicken parm, a few pizzas, and multiple pasta dishes. All are excellent and portioned well for a good meal. However, I noticed on some occasions that the pasta was undercooked. This happened twice to me, both during the dinner rush. Id say the kitchen needs to be a little more careful with food production. Besides that minor issue the food is always flavorful and delicious. Match the great food with the classy dinner ambience and Armando's is a great place to go for lunch or dinner. You can't go wrong here. read more

It seems the manager at the college park location is not interested in having families and kids around to the point that he is rude, in professional, and insensitive to kids. He was lucky my wife didn't tell me what he told her and my son inside while I was outside. although I know his name, I won't mention it, but Sir just because you may not have kids that doesn't give you the right to be rude to the point of telling my wife and kid you are glad they are leaving because my 3 years old kid was upset and crying. The heck with you and your large party who wasn't even there yet. Again you are lucky I wasn't there to put you in your place. I did call and asked for you later but the wait was too long. This is our go to Italian restaurant in College Park. We love the ambiance - it's not too formal but still has a classy feel. Other Italian restaurants in CP seem to be too fancy or way more expensive. I love their flaky bread and their house salads are always fresh with shaved parmesan over top. I usually get gnocchi and am never disappointed but the last time I ordered the pasta Armandos which is a rigatoni in light red sauce with peppers and onions. It was flavorful but not too heavy. Seafood dishes are also always fresh. Service can be a little slow when it gets busy but that's any restaurant, especially on a weekend. read more

Armando's in College Park is a phenomenal spot for Italian food. We opted to sit outside on their patio as it was a gorgeous Florida evening. The service was outstanding! The dishes and wine were even better! I ordered the Rigatoni ai Formaggi, which is mac & cheese the Italian way.. So good and full of flavor, everyone was jealous of my entree..
