Giving this place 4 1/2 stars because the staff was amazing and super friendly. They were the only place open at 630 in the morning while we were charging our Tesla across the street. The place was clean and respecting social distancing. Employees (including cook), were all wearing masks. There was hand sanitizer at the register. And all they had to go condiments so there was no cross touching going on. We ordered the breakfast burrito which was HUGE! And we had them add pico and grilled veggies. We also got extra salsa to go. The girl who took our order was so so amazing. She was friendly and helpful. And so positive so early in the morning. They let us use their bathroom, which was clean and stocked. We were so thankful for that! We took our burritos to go. Like I said they are huge, but they were lacking flavor. I think had we eaten them there, we would have added salt and pepper and more hot sauce to bring out the flavors. So that was a little disappointing. But they filled out belies, emptied our bladders and gave us warm fuzzy positivity to start our morning. So overall it was a great experience.

The Pollo Asada tacos are incredible! I get them without sour cream and guacamole I've been back once a week to have them The service is amazing both people I've seen there are so friendly! Most importantly both the red and green salsas are some of the best around and if you eat in they give you big bottles of it for the table

I no longer trust a lot of reviews online. You cannot judge an establishment on the advice of a few people, who may or may not be being truthful or have some biased point of view because of personal issues. Or maybe the reviewer or the establishment was having an off day? Either way, I'll judge for myself. I wholeheartedly disagree with some of the Google reviews for Armando's. It's near my work so I get breakfast burritos on the regular. I get mine with bacon, egg and pico cooked inside. The burrito is way more than I should eat in a sitting (but I often do) and it's the same each time. Consistent and hefty. I admit I have a habit of getting the same thing when I go to places. Why fix it if it ain't broke? But for the first time in years, I went and got lunch. Pictured are the two tacos I ordered - carnitas and baja. The green salsa was (and just IS epic). It's not fancy, it's simple good Mexican food. The staff is always nice and go out of their way to make sure I'm happy. No matter how early I order, mere minutes after they open, they are friendly, quick and thorough. Very welcoming and a ton of stuff to choose from. I can't imagine how difficult it must be based on where they are located. They are in the center of all the Qualcomm offices, and since the pandemic many people working up that way, myself included, are working from home half of the week. I would guess they never know from day to day whether it will be busy or not because of the inconsistent work schedules. And it's not in a residential area so business is mostly office workers. Through it all they have remained a solid place for me to eat and they do it smiling.

The machaca breakfast burrito is incredible! Tons of meat, eggs, and veggies. Really good.

Friendly staff. I almost always get the two chicken enchiladas, which also comes with rice and beans. Yum!

Atmosphere is fine. Food comes out quickly (pro and a con). Quality is much too low for the price. Would not recommend and will not be back.

Super dark and I mean dark, it'll take a minute for your eyes to adjust. Tapas style menu, we were a party of 4 and ordered: Squash blossom Relleno - it's the flower part of a squash plant and stuffed with mushroom duxelles which resembles a meat mixture with squash succotash. Outside is a corn tempura with a tomato base sauce. Pulpo-grilled octopus, one of the best texture and perfectly grilled skin with a chewy yet soft interior. The sauce has a slight kick and crunch from the corn nuts. Crab corn doughnut- this is their specialty and we were about to skip out but glad we didn't. The brioche bun had a donut batter with lumps of crab salad and corn mixture on top. El Festin- perfect for our party of 4 because it was a platter full of 4 Cheese quesadilla, 4 shrimp, 4 chicken slices, 1 jalapeño bacon wrap, ribeye. Flan-we should have each ordered one ourselves! Great flavors and texture, the top had ancient chocolate soil and had crispy corn nuts. Different but yummy. Overall, delicious food that came out so quick, great ambiance, we celebrated our birthdays and were each gifted candles with our names on the label. Truly amazing from beginning to end. Street parking only. The spots on the same block are metered but if you drive down to the second street towards residential, it's free.

Did as suggested, used an Uber to get there, didn't see any parking within close proximity as it is connected to the Lafayette Hotel and Club. Beautiful entry way, eyes definitely need to adjust to the darkness, lit candles everywhere; very church-like. The stained glass is beautiful. Tableware, tables, chairs somewhat Gothic. It did smell like candlewax, a bit overwhelming. Being able to see the open kitchen, was hoping to smell amazing dishes being prepared instead. I went by the reviews I read earlier, so we chose the Pulpo, perfect to share. Charred perfectly, tender on the inside on a spread of molè and bits of corn nuts, fabulous! Great presentation! Also tried the lentil spread, filling and plenty to share once again, tangy and spicy; our favorite appetizer. For a dish we shared the Chamoy bbq ribs, fell right off the bone; a tad salty. Corn ribs were tasty, wish they were fresh, a tad mushy and too salty. The pineapple Pico was just okay. We also ordered a passion fruit margarita and a Motomami, both were wonderful! Service was great, we were checked on often but then again it was a Thursday early evening and not busy yet. I would like to visit again and try other suggested dishes, when in town.

As it was our first time here and we thought the food portions would be small. Wrong. You definitely get your money's worth so be mindful when ordering. Capechana- decent - could be a shared appetizer if you want sea food. Agua Aguachiles- decent - could also be shared as an appetizer. To close it off we had steak and lobster. (Totally shareable) - more on the pricer side. But definitely worth it. Service was greag. Our waiter check in on us a few times but it didnt feel as if he was all over when we felt rushed so this was a plus. We were here for about two hours talking and enjoying the view. We got seated quickly and got lucky with a side table and perfect view of the city. We saw it during sunset and at night with all the lights. We opted to get the paella for 2 which takes a little extra time to prepare but was well worth the wait. It was so flavorful with all the seafood being a nice touch of salt. It was a little spicy but the cream sauce balanced it well. The rice was fluffy but crispy on the bottom. It could've fed 4 people probably. We got a complimentary slice of strawberry tres leches and it was the perfect ending to our meal. So incredibly light and not too sweet. Our server, Abdo made our dining experience even better with his friendliness and attention to the fact that we were celebrating something. All the staff we interacted with were pleasant and attentive. I'll definitely be back to try other things on their menu and would highly recommend!

It was grilled perfectly here! The chunks were big enough so you get the squid flavor. It also comes with a sweet/spicy sauce which was unexpected but really yummy. -Battered Fish Taco: my favorite dish! Huge flaky piece of fish that's fried really well. Not too much rough and you can really taste the fish. -Chips and Guac: fresh made guac! Get it as a side order and you can add to your tacos too. It can get really busy here.
