I've been waiting a couple of years to write a review because I believe finding a quality dentist/periodontist is essential for good health and wanted to give it several sessions before writing a review. What others have said is spot on! Dr. Manssourian really does care for his patient's well being. He's very attentive to detail, you will notice it when he starts a periodontal maintenance on your teeth, picking/scraping away at the gumline between each tooth extensively. As painful as it may be! It is well worth it because of the time and energy he devotes to this. He may recommend checking on your flossing technique, which is understandable and nice that he does this. It sucks in my position because although I floss correctly my gums ALWAYS bleed extensively, every dentist has questioned my flossing technique :( but he is very nice about it and may even make you chuckle. I will admit, certain procedures like the gum rinse at the end that costs near $100 I skip out on as my insurance does not cover and I'm sure the office helps use this to recoup their costs but hey they're a business too and offering these more affordable cleanings to the low income (myself on a delta hmo plan) I can't blame them. I appreciate however that the office staff is upfront about costs and will work with you and your insurance plan/wallet ha. He did recommend on my first visit to do a periodontal cleaning (several hundred dollar procedure). I was skeptical at first since a family-friend hygenist of ours said many dental clinics sell these right and left as almost a business-sales tactic to bring in more revenue ... which I find quite shitty because this is our health we're talking... not some Costco gizmo. But I have had a few dentists recommend it as the gaps on my gumline are several mm so I just went with it. At least it's one of those one-time things, so long as you keep things in check with the maintenances you shouldn't need the procedure again.. And that's another thing I've noticed that shows Dr. Manssourian isn't some sales guy.. when I do floss brush mouth wash etc regularly, even though my gums bleed, he admits that I didn't have a TON of plaque, cavities etc. he said he can tell I'm trying, and my protocol does not revert back to getting another periodontal cleaning or shorter intervals between the maintenances (which, my insurance just covers 2 a year.. one every 6 months. So I try to be on top of it to not pay an extra session or two out of pocket which is now like a hundred bucks at his office). So overall, yes I would recommend him. Especially if the office is accepting new patients, which at the time I was looking I was grateful they were. Oh and Dr. Lou! Dr. Lou is good too but I prefer my sessions with Dr. Manssourian as I can tell he gives more time and attention to my cleanings.. Dr. Lou likes to use the hypersonic tool, maybe hes not as comfortable with the pick / scrapey tool as Dr. Manssourian, which that hypersonic tool kinda screeches in my ears. Best dentist team in LA! I'm a loyal patient and will return - even if I moved away 1.5 hours. It's not easy to find a good and honest dentist in n LA - who does not dig for gold in your mouth. Meaning: DMD Manssourian only addresses the necessary issues. Does not seem to overprice you or search for unnecessary procedures . He and his team are super fast and efficient, he talks you through the procedures - with his superb experience and a calming voice and background music :) - no need to worry at all. Finding the right dentist/Orthodontists is hard. I've been going to multiple dentist to get my teeth clean, every 6month check ups, get an advise and etc. Finally I found THE ONE and its near my house. Absolutely terrible. Not the Dr. himself, who was actually very nice and professional. No complaints at all and in a different office with different staff and policies I'm sure I'd be a long-time patient. But everything else - from the guy at the receptionist desk who whined at me about not returning his phone calls (much like an ex-girlfriend would do) to reschedule me at his convenience, to the brawny lady who suddenly appeared like a linebacker to "polish my teeth," speaking in grunts as she tried to drill towards the center of the earth - was pure living hell. I did feel they tried to nickel and dime a bit, in particular by oddly having a requirement of multiple appointments. The first for inspection, the second for the Dr. to see you and get your teeth polished (no cavities or other work was involved)? Totally necessary, I was assured. Never encountered this at any other dentist or understand the purpose. It was a waste of my time. And finally, I hope you enjoy the typical ambience of LA area anything - an old rundown building to get your overpriced products and services in. Not the fault of the practice to be clear, just par for the course in LA unless the practice wants to pay 10X rent (and charge you 10X) for one of the select few buildings built in this century (or even the latter half of the last one if we're talking Burbank/Glendale). Our Hero! It was Friday morning when my son got a toothache and by the afternoon he was experiencing some fever so I decided to look for a dentist. Unfortunately at this time all the dentists that I called ( at least 20 as I was desperate ) were closed and the few that answered the phone could only see my son in 5 days. I decided to stay calm and that is when I found Dr. Manssourian. His business answering machine said that I can call him directly if this was an emergency so I did. I was hesitant that he was going to answer his cell phone but to my surprise he did!! I told him what was happening and he contacted my nearest pharmacy and his prescription was in my hands within 1/2 hour. My son started to feel much better on his first dose and felt much better over the weekend. By Monday Dr. M. was ready for us. To make the story short, he took care of my son as he was the president's son. As a father I am very, very grateful the way he treated my son. He is indeed very kind, transparent and caring. His team are exceptional! Joseph was amazing! He called my son on Tuesday to make sure he was doing ok. His conversations are friendly, professional and caring. My son needed a specialist and he recommended a doctor near by. They did all the work with our insurance Company and my co-pays and deductions where exactly what my insurance said I had to pay. I sincerely can't express my gratitude to Dr. Manssourian and his team. I thank God for providing us with such a wonderful people. I am next on the schedule and I can't wait to see Dr. Manssourian. Amazing Dentist, amazing staff. Hadn't seen a dentist in years because I did not have insurance. When I finally got insurance I was assigned to a dentist who was unable to work around my work schedule so I had to switch and I picked Dr.Manssourian because he was so close to my work/home and he had great reviews. I needed a crown, some fillings and a cleaning of course. Joseph in the front was so nice and informative and always made sure to follow up with me after every visit. The doctor was so gentle yet extremely fast and made my fear of the dentist slightly less. I remember going to California dental group on Colorado and hating my entire experience from booking my appt to waiting for over 2 hours in the dental chair hoping to be seen by the dentist then being handed a $5 Starbucks gift card and being asked to come back another time (on numerous occasions) to having them try to scam thousands of dollars out of me for procedures that were 100% covered by insurance when all I had was a copay of $10. I have already recommended at least 5 of my friends and family to Dr.Manssourian's dental office...I couldn't be happier with their service. read more

At first I was skeptical when My PPO insurance terminated and my new HMO insurance assigned me to this office, because I had never been here before. I was going to my old dentist for 5 years, but he didn't accept my HMO insurance. I came Dr. Manssourian, and to my surprise, it was a smooth visit. I didn't wait more than 10 minutes before I was called in. The manager Stephanie, explained my dental treatment thoroughly. She explained to me what benefits were covered under my new plan and benefits were not covered, but how those benefits are beneficial. Dr Manssourian is a cheap a** dr ! Half of the stuff on the txt plan aren't even done on actual day of txt . For example crown lengthening he calls it upgrading and makes you believe you need it, when it comes to the actual day of him doing the crown , where is the crown lengthening ?? He doesn't do it he just gets you for your money ! Oh and for fillings he tries and makes you believe that he does it with desensitizer but he doesn't ! Ppl on his reviews say he's so fast yeah he's fast cause he doesn't do stuff right ! Over all bad dr don't recommend him to anybody , you're better off going some where else ! He's a rip off !
