After a few months I noticed that despite my regular windings, it would run slow. Then I took it into a shallow pool. And remember the face of the watch said "waterproof". The watch stopped working. The face was damaged by droplets of water that leaked in. I reached out to Rick, the owner of this establishment, about fixing this issue. I was told that a simple maintenance and cleaning would get it back to normal. But he ironically said he did not have the time. So not only was the watch faulty from the start, Rick did not take any responsibility for it. What saddens me the most is that the watch used to be a beautiful symbol of my marriage, and at one time I considered it to be the nicest gift I had ever been given. But after my interaction with Rick, it's just a sore reminder that you just can't put your trust in small businesses anymore. Where is the integrity? It's no wonder people end up just going to Amazon now. Further evidence that American businesses are self destructing due to a lack of honor and laziness.

Please indulge me for a moment, for I would like to share my most recent experience with this team. I own a beautiful diamond and sapphire ring that my mother, who is now deceased, gave to me. I had the appraisal done by a jeweler, that I used prior to finding Dunbar. Unfortunately while on vacation one of the diamonds fell out and was lost. I wasn't too worried since I had the ring insured. I brought the ring to Michael and Hilary, along with the appraisal to have the repair completed. Unfortunately the appraisal that was given from a jeweler who will remain anonymous, was incorrect and quoted the diamonds as half their actual size. Therefore the insurance company was only willing to reimburse me for one-third of the total replacement and repair cost. Chuck and Lucy having listened to my story, offered immediately to compose a letter for me to send to my insurance company, along with the corrected appraisal. Today I was notified that because of the letter and new corrected appraisal, the total repair will be paid by the Insurance Company. Can you imagine my surprise and joy? Especially with the holiday season upon us, this additional expense was going to be difficult. I can't tell you how much I appreciate Chuck and his entire team. They did this for me, with no financial gain for them. The integrity and kindness shown by the Dunbar team will keep them forever, as my number one choice for jewelry!!!

She told me that if I had gotten the ring there in the first place it would've been a better quality. The original repair cost me $180 with a diamond stone replacement. I was then quoted $252 to replace it with a CZ stone.
