Only 4* average! Really! I grew up on Arni's and trust me there is literally no other thin crust pizza on this planet as good. This is the first & last place I stop every time I come home for a visit. It's some of the best pizza anywhere. Certainly on par if not better than all the wonderful deep dish in Chicago. Pretty much everything I've ever had here had been good. I ate there 2-3 times a week when I lived in Lafayette for almost 5 years, and I always come back when I'm in town. The restaraunt was very dirty, especially the carpet. I think it needs to be replaced as it smells old and musty in there. Also, the white chairs on the top backs and front were black with dirt and terribly needed a cleaning. There were fingerprints on the windows beside each booth. But the food was good and the service was good, with that being said we won't be going back. The attire on most of the customers was unbelievably dirty, shabby and crude with unclean hair and obesity being the norm. I couldn't finish my food though it was good. No desire to go back unless it is updated or remodeled and a dress code. read more

This is a good typical midwest pizza place complete with the iceberg salad piled high with cheese. The server was very nice and they accomodated a very large group of my family without a reservation. The pizza was nice and greasy but still good! read more

Service was good and prompt. I ordered their Arni's junior and soup of the day, as it was recommended. I ordered no ham on my salad and it came with ham. The soup was salty and kind of boring. However, the group behind us ordered a pizza and it looked amazing!!! read more

Hands down the best salad in town...the Arni's Junior or Senior if you're really hungry. Pizza is thin crust and is ok.

Arni's used to be a '5-Star' unfortunately the prices keep going up while the food quality keeps slipping. The pizzas have less and less toppings. (over time) The BBQ sauce has been changed, so if you liked the old kind you have to REMEMBER to ask for OPEN PIT BBQ. They also use a lot less paste than they used to. If you want a pizza like they used to be (and still should be) you have to PAY for extra tomato paste and extra toppings. Why don't the carry-out salads come with garlic bread like they do if I eat in? I still love the food and prefer it to Pizza King. read more

very disappointed and upset waited for over 45 minutes for our order to come to find out they had took it out to the dining room it was a carry out order then when we got home a sandwich we ordered wasn't there and then they said that they would keep it on the warmer when I finally got a hold of a manager which took 15 minutes when I called and then the sandwich was cold the taco salads were code because we had to wait so long they took them to the dining room very very upset we will never go to this restaurant again yeah first of all because it took over 45 minutes to get the order I am disabled and we were not allowed to even sit down in a booth and they had no chairs for anybody just said in I had to go outside the store to set on a bench while my friend was waited and then they act like they was racist that they didn't like a black and white person together and they act like that they was going to treat us like crap simply because we were a black and white hanging out together and like when I called to tell them we didn't get the sandwich it took 20 minutes to get the manager on the line and then she told me the sandwich would be on the warmer and it wasn't and none of the food was warm because they had took it out to the dining room originally and in case Arnie's is reading this it is Tim Stevens s t e p h e n s and my phone number is 765-656-6335 anybody else any other restaurant would have made it up to us and you didn't this was a double insult and one other thing one of the reasons that we really will convince that they was racist since I'm white and my friend is African American or black he chooses to say black but anyways when I went outside to sit down since that left him in there alone the manager passed him several times like he thought he was getting ready to steal something or whatever read more

Learned about Arni's when I managed a business at Market Sq. from 1968-1972. Haven't had pizza there since a take-out made my family ill about 1970 or so, but that is more than made up for by the legendary Arni's Junior (salad.) At least once a year since moving out of town in 1970 to a town 25 miles out, my wife and I come in, and don't bother with a menu, as we always get the same thing. The Jr. That's at least 42 visits and we never get tired of them. Always fresh, always quick, and always good. (I do leave the radishes...) Our first visit to Arni's and everyone in our party loved it. We ordered salads and potato pancakes to start. My son thought the potato pancakes were perfect! We also ordered a couple of pizzas, an open/faced Reuben and a cheeseburger. Needless to say, we were full and happy. They recommended that we try their pepperoni, which is ground. I liked it even more than the sausage, which I typically order. The service was excellent. Drinks were refilled before they ran out. The menu was extensive with something for everyone and we loved the decor. Our visit to Arni's was a home run! read more

Although I now live in Chicago so my usual pizza is deep dish and basically the opposite of Arni's I still have to consider Arni's one of my favorites. This location is by far the best as well because it is full of character and history. I have gone to Arni's my whole life and whenever family visits from out of town it is their first request for where we go out to eat. pizza is great, in decently small portions but it has a great taste! the crust is crunchy, and the toppings are plentiful. if you aren't much of one for this type of pizza, they also have sandwiches and other entrées to order from. the salads are surprisingly good (because i seldom tend to enjoy salads). the reason that i gave it a four is because of the small portions and sometimes the restaurant seems smoky on the inside. read more

I love Arni's. When I was a kid, my family moved away from Lafayette and I was shocked to discover they didn't have Arni's everywhere. Every time we came back to town to visit our relatives - the first thing we did when we got in the door - hug grandma and then call Arni's and place an order! The Market Square location has been there for over 50 years. My parents use to go on dates there when it was newly opened. The restaurant has 3 different sections, one is a dining room, the other is a themed dining room with toys and games, and the other is called The Loading Dock which is the bar area and has train station theme. The restaurant is currently under-going remodeling and the main dining area has been transformed into a modern "hipster" decor. Arni's has a good sized menu, but there are certain items that Arni's is famous for - the pizza (of course), the sub sandwich, the stromboli, and the Arni's Junior Salad. I like the cheese pizza, sausage pizza, and pepperoni pizza. I like that the sausage is crumbly and the pepperoni is cubed. I like that more than the conventional chunks of sausage/ slices of pepperoni. The crust is thin but soft. The sauce is nice and slightly sweet. There's loads of cheese on these pizzas, which is a good thing in my book. I went here for the first time and ordered a sandwich. The person making my order was new and messed it up, which I get. They're learning the ropes. I waited for over an hour before having to leave for an appointment. I had to leave without my food. My friend brought it to me later in the day, but it still ruined my lunch. This was so not cool. The second time I went (to give it another shot) and was surprised they didn't have bread sticks (I'll survive this tragedy though). We got some meatballs as an appetizer. They weren't very good, to be honest and were expensive and small. But the pizza was good. Still, my first experience was lackluster. read more

First time at Arnis and we had the pizza and junior salad. I will start with the pizza. It's well priced. Thin crust crunchy...the way I like it. However, the pizza is flavorless. Not a lot of cheese...which is OK if it had some flavor. Tried the famous junior salad...which many people say it is "HUGE". Well, it's not. It's not huge but there must be half a cup of cheese thrown on top of it. It's OK salad. I don't get the fascination with this salad by people reviewing here. It is just a lettuce salad with some finely chopped ham. Sort of like a chef salad with radishes. Two people can split it for a salad course. Skip the garlic bread. It's not that good. If you really want pizza in Lafayette hit up Bruno's. They have a better pizza and better appetizer...bruno dough. Although, the Bruno dough has slipped in quality over the years. For Arni's, it would get 2 stars from me if it weren't for their pricing. One word for Arni's...SPICES. Man, throw some oregano or something into that pizza. It SCREAMS for flavor. read more
