Went here 2 Sunday's ago with family and friends. Have been to the Long Island location before which was extremely busy and had great food, service and atmosphere. Unfortunately, the East Brunswick location falls short of their predecessor. Wait was reasonable but really wasn't busy. Our server, although pleasant, wasn't very good at their job. Long times between seeing her, no check back as to food quality or drink refills. Didn't really converse with us or attempt to be friendly. Food in no way compared to the great quality we received in Long Island. Everything ordered was plain, tasteless and boring. Burger was a preprocessed preformed hockey puck. The prices were reasonable but only if food quality was equal. Would we go back? Maybe, but only for drinks and apps. read more

Food is pretty good here. The Buffalo pretzel is my favorite. Beer selection is large but lacks a little bit of variety. Would like to see more stouts and porters for the winter season. read more

The restaurant was half empty and we were told it was an hour wait due to the kitchen being backed up even to sit at a bar high top, all of which were empty. The staff was unfriendly and unwilling to help. We just wanted to have a couple of drinks and watch the race. Seems like it could be a fun place if they were staffed properly. read more

Then literally got up stumbling outside . And probably drove home drunk ! We ordered the chicken street tacos and the boneless bbq wings... the tacos were soggy... drowned in sauce and had almost no filling... im talking about maybe two little bite sized pieces of chicken each... really disappointing. Just had an awesome experience at Arooga's. As a first time customer, it was refreshing to be acknowledged by Deshawn. Even though he was on his way out, he took the time to welcome us and let us know who our waiter would be. He even showed us how to use the scannable menu. I wanted the "old school" menu and he also took the time to bring it to us. I felt I was being welcomed in someone's home. He was pleasant, friendly and you could tell he enjoyed working there as he mentioned in our conversation. Our server Anthony, was also excellent, accommodating and patient with us as we chatted before looking at the menu. The place had a cool, relaxed vibe. You could tell when folks work well together. The food was really good. I had the boneless wings with 2 sauces and my sister had the fish. It was all good as evidenced by the empty dishes!! The reviews about wait time and service are correct. We arrived at around 5, were seated promptly, but it took one and half hours for food to arrive. Waitress was flustered, and although she was trying, was very disorganized. The restaurant was not that busy, so I am not sure what kitchens delays were. This was our second visit to this location. Host and wait staff were all attentive and pleasant. Server came to the table soon after we were seated. Drinks were brought quickly. There is an extensive beer list. The menu offers many different choices from apps to burgers, ribs, sandwiches, wings and salads. We especially appreciate the gluten free variety and preparation expertise! Food was brought quickly after ordering. Everything is fresh and very tasty! We will visit again soon! read more

My husband order the pretzel burger, it looks more like a kids meal. We spoke to the waitress, she said the manager will come talk to us. The manager never came over. I ordered the half rack of ribs and wings, I got 5 wings and 4 ribs, looks more like a sampler. They basically load your order with cold fries. read more

First time visit to the newly opened restaurant, service was good but not great for a weekday when the amount of patrons is considerably less.The place is big and sport TV's were very NICE. Yet my focus was the food and beer. I like my beer very cold and it was but no frosted glasses just not cold enough for the price. Other than that the most important was the food we tried tasting the Ribs and wings to taste the heat, but disappointed when the wings came out they not were NOT "Sudden Death" so we called the manager very nice but gave a bit of a sorry excuse of why it's not hot or even mild. So we tried it again and yet this time they poured the sauce on top without an attempt to searing on the sauce to the wings. I use to like coming here but over the last year both before and after Covid service has gotten severely worse. The staff aren't very friendly and the manager that's been in charge the last two times I've gone sucks(I believe his name is something Ayala). He decides when shit gets busy to shutdown the kitchen. So what was suppose to be a quick bite to eat become almost 3 hours of hell. When we asked for a update they couldn't give us one. I even asked are we going to be compensate for the wait and I got no reply as if I was invisible. To make matters worse when my boyfriend tried to say something to the table about the service the manager caught an attitude and became rude with us. I've literally been coming here for 2 years I've even recommended it to friends. But we will never be back. The place is amazing on the inside and menu was vast. But that was all the good. Order was messed up from the appetizer to main meal. Food was bland and tasted like microwave food. No sauce on wings that are supposedly award winning!! Food was not good at all. Did not even wanna take home left overs for dog, threw em out and our $47 we spent on meal. We came there today with a party of about 15 or so. While I understand the difficulties of taking care of a large party, I also believe that service should not be compromised. Our waiter only answered to about half of our requests in a timely manner, leaving me with no plate or utensils. Many others in our group had similar issues. The macaroni and cheese was great but it was served cold, which took away from it. I was looking forward to this place opening. My 1st experience was not great so I gave it another try. Second time here. Not a long wait to sit at a table but took 45 minutes to get any food. Possibly the worst burger I ever had. Cheese was in slices and cold and the meat was like a piece of charcoal. The decor is sterile the menu is limited. First time here, and sat at the bar. I really wanted to like this place but the service was lacking, and the food was mediocre. The bar wasn't full, but it's really hard to get a bartenders attention. Ordered an appetizer (amish perogies) and a Manhattan, but they were out of the dish, and then forgot about my drink. Ended up getting the truffle tots instead which was nothing special. Just frozen tater tots with Parmesan and truffle oil. When i finally got my drink, it was missing all of the components of a Manhattan. It didn't even taste like whiskey... it tasted like dish cleaner. Very disappointed. read more

This place hires young teenagers and the night my friend and I visit we had a waitress that was brain dead! I ordered the salad and say no blue cheese bits but blue cheese dressing. She brings me vinaigrette dressing instead. I ordered fries as sides for my wings. Orders came and no fries; said she forgot them. Told her I want a clam chowder soup to go and got home and finds no soup in the bag! How many times can your server screw up in one visit. She was just awful! I asked her for the check later in the night, and I went out for a cigarette talking to friends out front like everyone does . I put my chair on a tilt at the bar to show I was coming back . I want to start this review by saying we came here with an open mind, knowing how stressful this time can be for restaurants & the reopening. When the hostess told us 30-45 min we were shocked & very excited that the wait wasn't too long... 45 minutes later, we checked our spot in line and we were still EIGHTH. We asked the host how much longer it would be and she told us THIRTY more minutes. That's just unacceptable. We stuck it out considering we had just spent 45 minutes there already & finally got a table an hour and 15 min after we checked in. We decided to just order appetizers bc we weren't too hungry and got the buffalo chicken dip. We noticed the restaurant, instead of using metal kitchen utensils & menus, were using disposable ones & online menus -- which we liked. However, they brought out the buffalo chicken dip in a very small soup container (pictured). It contained exactly FOUR small pieces of chicken that were equivalent to the size of maybe 2 chicken nuggets. We thought maybe since the portion was so small that it wasn't its regular price of 8.99... we were wrong. Like I said, we tried to stay optimistic about our first venture out since restaurants have closed months ago, but we were extremely disappointed in this restaurant. Table of 7 watching the football game , got carded as soon as we ordered drinks. They had no white claws, miller lite , tito's , or rose which is conveniently what we ordered. So we settled for beer and mixed drinks & ordered appetizers. Another worker who I found out later was the manager comes over and singles me out after i've already been seated for an hour, had three drinks, and ordered my dinner, asks me to see my id again. stands there bends it in front of everyone and hands it back to me. very rude. service was terrible. tvs went out three times during the game. we would not go again. read more
