All three of us ordered the smashburger special and were asked if we wanted pink, little pink or no pink. All three of us ordered no pink. Burgers come out and are the thickest smash burgers I've ever seen. Easily 5/8" thick each. I could have dealt with that. What we couldn't deal with was all six patties were extremely pink. When our server eventually showed up and we showed her our pink patties, we got an eye roll. Had no confidence that new ones were going to be any better and didn't have time wait so we paid for the drinks and left. So disappointing that this place used to be one of my favorites. read more

Great time at aroogas! Love the bar and how it's separated from the restaurant. We had the Carolina wings and that was fantastic. Make sure to get it twice toasted so that the sauce is caramelized and sticky, game changer! We also had the buffalo chicken dip pretzel, and that was extremely good as well. read more

When a friend picked this place for dinner, the other two of us was like, "Ughhhh!!!" I've visited many of the Arooga's in the area and they sucked equally! As you can see with other reviews, it is really hit and miss here anymore. Three of us visited here on a Tuesday night for some food and drinks. Our server was very attentive and the food was actually pretty good! The pretzel and sampler appetizers were fresh and tasted great. My salad was huge and my friends enjoyed their food as well. I love that they have Angry Orchard on tap here as it can be hard to find sometimes. I'm still a little hesitant thinking they just had a "good" night but I might give them another try to see how consistent they are. read more

I get why they get such bad reviews. If you read through them most the low rating is for customer service not the food. Went with four guys to watch some basketball, eat & drink. There we sat 4 guys (trying to not believe us being black matters) in front of the beer tab. 2 bar tenders going back and forth to pour beer from the tab. Either bar tender even asking if we wanted a drink. After 15 mins sitting at the bar and two bar tenders. We stopped the lady bar tender to take our order. She said 1 min please. Delivered beers to others. Proceeded to stop and talk to others that were eating and drinking. After 10 minutes going by we alerted the male bar tender we'd like to order. He to went to deliver others drinks. He did come back 4 mins later to take our order. Finally we got the wings and fries. The food is the only reason they got my 2 stars. Once we got the food. We had to ask for silverware, ask for napkins and get the bar tenders attention to get another round of drinks. The service is horrible at this location. That's why their rating is so low. For anyone who's from the city this place kind of reminds me of a mixture of Buffalo Wild Wings and the food/drink menu of a Dave and Busters. First, they have a great drink menu with such an intense variety to include buckets of cocktails you can order to share, they also have a pretty great selection of what's on tap. Their food menu contains just as much variety from loaded tater tots, sandwiches, wings, burgers and so on. American food but with a little bit of a twist. My coworker order classic hot wings extra wet so it came super saucy and the wings were literally fire they were so hot but good. I took an interest to something a little different that caught my eye... The donut burger It's a glazed donut as the bun, with a cheese burger and bacon. It was amazing, and definitely sensory overload with all the flavors going on but not too much because it wasn't a huge burger. I loved it and definitely recommend! Also, their fries are really good and I'm a fry person so that says a lot. The place is fun, they have poker tournaments which was going on, pool tables, and apparently a bunch of other things depending on what night you go. Came here for my 21st birthday celebration with family. We called ahead for 14 seats, and they graciously accommodated us. The waitress was very attentive and ready to get me my next drink at all times. The food came quickly and was piping hot. I had the guiltless wings with buffaque sauce, which I highly recommend. I don't like breading covering up the flavor of the chicken, so these were perfect. I also tried my dad's buffalo chicken mac and cheese, which was amazing. My grandmother has particular food needs and preferences, and the kitchen was more than happy to accommodate her needs. Overall, very happy with this experience! read more

The first time we went here was fantastic. We had great service, food was good, and watched the Phillies. The second time we went was not fantastic at all. The service was initially great, but went downhill quick. Our bartender/server got us going and then went to the other side of the bar and had a conversation with some other patrons for at least 20 minutes. The food was subpar at best. The other bartender came by to refill drinks and was far from pleasant. First time dining at aroogas, a place I've passed many times at the location in Hanover PA. Was in the area visiting Hershey for New Years. Started with the sampler appetizer which was great, really enjoyed the sauces and size of the app. I ordered the arroga burger which was very tasty with a side of sweet potato fries, food was pretty awesome.. atmosphere was your typical "bar" experience, with mediocre service on the restaurant side. The focus of this place is definitely the bar crowd. I'd come back again but definitely wouldn't be my go-to. Didn't take any photos but the highlight was definitely the Thai chili boneless wings with the appetizer, and the pepper relish on the burger was a great flavor as well. Since Arooga's has replaced Kokomos not much has really changed about the place. It does seem a little bit less cluttered but the menu and decor of the place is pretty similar. The best thing about the place is the huge bar, and no matter where you sit there is always a tv within view for easy sports game watching while you enjoy a brew or two. Ok beer selection, although the prices aren't that great, especially for a sports bar. Interestingly enough Aroogas has a few different beers of its own on tap. The food also seemed overpriced to me for what it was, rather average. Wings were pretty tasty, and they certainly have a long list of flavors to choose from which is cool. The food menu is huge and the service seems to be hit or miss. Overall I give the place 3 stars because it's the standard sports bar experience, although it always seems to be jam packed both in the bar and in the restaurant. read more

We wasted $48. On 3 orders of wings. They are overpriced. I understand the chicken shortage but then the restaurant needs to be honest to their guests about what their wings are like. Plenty of beer on tap, trivia on Thursdays, and wing specials. What more could you possibly expect from a great bar. How about the large garage doors that open to let the breeze flow right on through. They also have a huge porch for those that don't want to be confined. And a massive menu. All of it the most delicious of pub foods. The place fills up quickly so go early and get your tables. Also if you are there early you can get your waitstaff's attention. Absolutely amazing! We went in on a Friday and the service was great. The servers were great and friendly. We got a burger and fries, and one of the pasta meals. They came out at a decent time. My husband got one of the drinks called a 'trashcan' (which is a really great drink, don't mind the name). The picture shows the decent size of the drink. Afterwards we got the Reese's sundae and in that picture it is definitely enough for two after the meals. Will be going back regularly. read more

I have been coming to this location since I've turned 21. I am now 25 and each year it goes downhill even further. There is no organization, the bartenders favor certain customers, you might end up waiting 1+ hours for your food, and the drinks are less than mediocre. They hardly ever clean their restrooms. Women have actually used the men's room because of how dirty their restroom was. To me, that creates a lot of potential problems including for women's safety at a sports bar with a bunch of drunk men. The only reason I come here is the free-to-play pool tables. I have dine here more than 5 times (my friend really likes this place). I just don't understand why so many people like this place... let's weigh the pro's & con's Pros: *serves food *serves booze *takeout package goods (beer only, 12 bottles max per person per visit) *wide variety of wing sauces *TV's *decent eye candy for staff (not all but a good number) Cons: *Food isn't great (not even that good). I had the wings which were kinda dry and I asked for extra wet and there still wasn't enough sauce coated on them to cover the whole wing. The pulled pork wasn't that bad but nothing out of this world. And although the pork was okay, the bun was completely soggy upon my first bite. As a foodie this is sacrilege. *Expensive - this is not NYC people. don't charge me for celery or blue cheese with my wings! These things should be included-- these are not "extras" *2 different beers at 2 different times were flat. Got the coors light pitcher deal, the beer was not only warm ("the coldest beer in town" yea right) but flat. I poured my first glass with no bubbles whatsoever. Happened another time with Miller Lite-- I think it is their tap system or kegs. *there is a smell at the bar everytime I go and it is because they are not mopping up with bleach as you should at any bar. With a bar, liquids spill and get on the floor, slip mats, & counter tops. You need to wash and disinfect ALL of these things. *There are flys/gnats at the bar and more in the bathroom - do they ever clean this place? I know bugs happen but every time I go? You guys need to call an exterminator pronto. *getting takeout package goods is such a hassle. The girls will not serve me for at least 5-10 mins when there is no one else in need of attention-- they are just talking to each other or texting on their cellphones. I know why they do it-- because they think I am not going to tip so it is a waste of time. First off, nice attitude in a customer service type job. Second, I always tip at least 20% (yes, even on takeout goods because it is tough being a waitress, they live on tips!) but not when you can't even make the effort to do your job. And you should realize that I may come back to your establishment so wouldn't you want to keep me happy? hahaha, yes, I should have known better. ahhh *Let's get to this "eye candy" Yes, some of the girls are attractive but they are so phony and just want a higher tip that it backfires in my opinion. Their skills for this type of job are lacking (see above) and I would honesty want a less attractive female (heck, even a guy!) if they could consistently remember my order once I have given it (or just write it down), ask me if I need a refill when my beer is getting low and not have me wait 20 min after my meal to clear my plate. Oh, and some napkins would be nice when I get my plate of wings! No clue how this place is still open. I avoid going here and do not recommend this place. But hey, you make the call. update 5/20/2011 So I came back here and my experience wasn't so bad. I had the chili which was good and I ordered the sliders which were fine. It was trivia night so there was a lot of comradery which helped. And the server was really nice too. So what's the gripe you ask? My credit card was overcharged by $7. I contacted the manager who said he would handle it. 10 days later I call back and the same manager informs me that he lost my information I gave him the first time and to give it to him now. I do and he promises me for a second time to handle it. Months later and I still never got the chargeback. It really wasn't worth me to dispute the charge with my credit card company for $7 but I thought I would let others know to check their credit card charges once they go home (my receipt that I signed was $20 including tip) but it was charged $27 when I got my statement in the mail. read more

I really want to love Aroogas. It's close to my house and the menu has such a variety of different things to eat. Pretty much anything you could be craving can be found on this menu. When you have a menu this size you have to wonder how can it possibly all be fresh and delish? Well I guess it can't because it isn't. I have to say, though, its hit or miss. Sometimes I come and I really enjoy my food, and others, its cold. Sometimes I come and the service is great! Other times I wonder if anyone's working. The issue here is definitely consistency. I will probbaly return because its convenient to my house and there is always cold beer and fun drinks but if you're looking for an awesome meal, don't expect it. Although it could surprise you too. I like the PB and Jelly Burger (You have to try it to believe how good this combo is) and the garlic parm wings. Those are my go to items there that are usually consistent. This is a sport's bar. You must expect sports fanatics to crowd the place, drunken chatter, and a bit of a wait (especially on the weekends). With that said, my mouth is already watering just thinking about the food here. I've been here about three times in the past month (yea, I know) and each time the food has been consistent and so has the service. If you like to see cute waitresses dressed as referees with tight black pants/shorts, then Arooga's is your place! If you LOVE wings with dozens of different sauces to choose from, then Arooga's is your place! I mean, really, I'm having a Garlic Parmesan Wing craving already! Also, for all of you seafood lovers, the Crab Dip is AMAZING. It's so amazing that I never cease to amaze my Boyfriend when it's the first thing that I order. They have wonderful beer specials (even beers of their own), lots of televisions, lots of seating, and an overall pleasant staff. The prices aren't so bad considering the quality and the quantity of the food. For example: said Crab Dip is about $10.00 and WORTH IT! Our friends received waters as soon as they arrived, but after we sat down, we waited 15 minutes for her to come back to take our drink and food orders. I ordered an Aroogarita and my husband ordered a beer and a soda and our 2 friends each ordered a beer. The beers came out promptly, but no soda and no margarita. The food arrives next and my husband's meatball sub looked microwaved and tasted pretty bad. The fries were soggy and old looking. Still no Aroogarita. Finally, after everyone has finished eating, my drink finally shows up. The waitress was very apologetic, so I think it was probably the bartender, not her, that screwed up.
