Best sweet pizza! I grew up in Glenwood, eating this pizza since 1972! When the Tinley Park location opened up I was so excited! I love the thin crust although their stuffed pizza is excellent too. They also have amazing broasted chicken! They have open kitchens so you can see them making the pizzas, and that it is a clean kitchen. The owner Rich, runs an amazing business and everyone works very hard! I usually do a pick up, I live on the east side of Tinley's that I can go in and say hi to Rich. The Glenwood location is closing soon, although they will add another location in St. John IN, still having 3 locations. If you like a sweet sauce this is the pizza for you! read more

Recommended this place by a friend BUT they never mentioned the sweet sauce which is NOT my thing, like not at all. The price was $47 for a family size half pepperoni half sausage and 2 orange Fanta drinks, wayyyy too expensive. Most pizza spots do NOT charge that much. Oh but not to mention, the Fanta sodas were expired from May smh. The pizza was hot to say the least but it's barely getting ate bcus of that sweet sauce. It's not for everybody. We miss this stuffed pizza, garlic bread, desserts and many other products here so much since moving 3 hours away. But most every time we are in town Rich will bake us our pizza, etc., and refrigerate it for us for our trip home in our cooler...........which gets warmed in our oven for the next day's dinner. And I'm no cook myself, but the way Rich instructs me on heating it while specifically covering the stuffed pizza sauce so it doesn't burn...........it comes out like just out of "Arrenello's" ovens! This is a sweeter sauce, so enjoy. But many delicious options here from chicken to sandwiches, if you're not in a stuffed or thin crust pizza mood. This is our family's go-to place for pizza. We love the thin crust and the thicker crust. Their tiramisu is great, too.

The sauce was plentiful and sweet. The takeout person stated they had no menus to take home at the counter. (Menu is online but for many reasons having these paper menus to request is a benefit). Overall the pizza was 7/10 for taste. The issue is the price and the structure. For a chicken Caesar salad (very little chicken) and 3 topping family sized pizza (half tomato&onions and half pepperoni). The bill was $54. They charge full price for topping used on half the pizza. The majority of pizza establishments charge half for half. The price dictates the expectations, in part. If we were professional food critics, it would just be about the food quality. But on Yelp and Google, it is common people who have budgets and choices. Yelp puts 3 points up for reviewers to try to touch on: food, service and ambience. I add a fourth, Value. We wanted to try some place new to us. Since we were driving to Frankfort this became the option to bring for a dinner gathering. Took longer than expected but kind of the status quo on Fridays. We bought a stuffed cheese and a thin sausage and pepperoni. Overall they were solid but the sweet was just too sweet for us. We are okay with both sweet and traditional but this was a bit much. My fav stuffed pizza. Nothing like it. Rich, thick paste-y sauce and delicious fresh sausage. The crust also has a surprising flakiness to it, instead of just tasting like plain dough. I know there's plenty of "omg there's SUGAR in the sauce" reviews from people that have no idea how pizza is made, so let me break it down for y'all. "Normal" pizza sauce is made with white sugar, so you don't really notice it. Same goes for a jar of pasta sauce -- there's as much sugar as 20 oz of Coke in a jar of Prego, for example. But it's white sugar, so you don't even notice. Aurelio's sauce is absolutely loaded with white sugar. Arrenello's clearly uses brown sugar in their sauce. So you taste it more. If that's not your preference, that's fine. But don't act like a typical pizza sauce isn't loaded with sugar, cuz it is. read more

Food is always good but the service lately is terrible. Today the pizza was barely warm and we were overcharged. When we called to ask why we were overcharged the young girl on the phone said the coupon prices were changed. The coupon we were given the PREVIOUS WEEK on their pizza bag was good through 9/30/2020 for 31.20 we were charged over $41 with delivery fee. We were expecting the bill to be about $35. Not $45 with tip. This place is beyond awful. I am big on supporting local businesses so I decided to try this place for our family pizza night since we live 5 mins away and just moved to the area. My 7 year old son took the first bite and instantly spit it out saying someone poured sugar on his pizza. The rest of us then tried it and sure enough my son wasn't kidding. The pizza literally tasted as if they poured a bag of white sugar all over the top of the pizza. I did read on the website that they use a "sweet sauce" however little did I know that meant giving someone instant diabetes by eating a piece. Unless you are Buddy the Elf and enjoy mounds of maple syrup on your spaghetti stay FAR AWAY from this place. I then called the store and happened to speak to the owner to whom I explained that unfortunately I had to throw away the entire deep dish pizza ($50 worth) because it was inedible. He was very condescending and acted like I was exaggerating on the sweetness of the pizza. He had no problem staying to me that he can't help if I don't like the pizza and so if I don't like it I can go somewhere else. WOW, the customer service by this owner is a joke! From the packaging, to the pizza, we fell in love with your restaurant, and especially your sauce! When we were back in town this last week, we couldn't wait to order from your Tinley Park restaurant again! We just had one of our favorite family Italian restaurants in Springfield close after 30+ years so the owners could retire. I've been coming here for years. The owner has always been an incredible guy. I've only known him from ordering their food and I feel like he is one of my buddies. He always asks how I'm doing if he has time when I pick up my orders. Never is rude... never is arrogant. What cracks me up is some of the posts I've read here who says "I've been coming here for years and now I had a bad experience and I'm never coming back so now i giving bad review" ridiculous. If I had to guess they are just being malicious. The service is always great. Super nice folks work there. Now as far as the food goes.... I grew up eating Arrenello's Pizza from their original location in Glenwood, IL. It was my absolute favorite meal as a kid. Fast forward over 2 decades and it STILL is my favorite! Now they have three locations (Glenwood, Highland, IN, and Tinley). I try to stop by for a pizza whenever I am in the area. I feel like it's an entirely different type of food. It is not regular pizza. It is a sweet, tangy, mouth-watering goodness that you will CRAVE! I LOVE the stuffed pizza. So much cheese and sweet, tangy, non-watery sauce. But they also have a good thin crust. I love the gooey little edges of sauce that cooks right where the cheese and crust meets. I'm an Arrenello's fan for life! The pizza is pretty good. It's kind of a local favorite for many years. The sauce is definitely on the sweet side, which is a particular style, seems intentional, in which case it's executed correctly. Take this into account when choosing your toppings... This goes great with spicy toppings! The crust is also good, crispy yet also flaky, well done. On the down side, the corona virus isn't being taken seriously enough. The woman working the register had a mask hanging below her chin, with the result that she was not actually wearing a mask at any time while we were there. Second, the pen used for signing credit card transactions was also handed around back and forth between customers, no cleaning. Finally, as we were there, two customers came in with no masks and walked right up to the partial-glass where the pizzas were being made and had a conversation with the people working there. The customers with no masks were not asked to put on masks and remained in queue, maskless, while we quickly left. I certainly won't be ordering from here again because of the health and safety issues. Please fix: 1. Require masks for all customers. 2. Make sure all employees are wearing masks. 3. Went there for the first time a few days ago. Walked in and overheard the worker (who I assume was the manager/owner) talking to an older woman and wished Mrs. _________ a nice day. I noticed it immediately because of how nice it was to see someone that took enough interest in their job/business to care enough to remember peoples names. Gave it that small town feel. My experience with talking went very similar. Seemed like a genuine nice person. Upon others entering the warm welcoming was very friendly as well. Onto the pizza. The pizza was delicious. Sauce is sweet, with a hint of tang. Crust is thin and has just the right amount of crunch. My kids, wife, and I all liked it.
