Wife & I had been wanting to give Mid Villa Pizza in Palos a try because we had many great pizzas from their Midlothian location which closed many years ago. We arrived on Monday at 410pm just after they opened. They have a bar that seats about 10 and several tables in the storefront area. We chose to sit at the bar. At the time there was only one table occupied by a party of 4 in the dining area. We were greated by a lady who came out from the back and she told us she would be with us if a few minutes because they had just opened. We immediately liked her as she had a sassy, but friendly personality. We had called at 4pm when they opened and ordered a medium 18 inch thin crust pizza with sausage, mushrooms and 1/2 jalapeño. We did this to shorten the wait for dinner because we were hungry. Also, Monday is their 1/2 price any size pizza day for dine in or take out. Our server, who we think is one of the owners came back and we ordered a draft beer and wine. They offer beer and wine. I didn't see any mixed drinks, but I'm not sure. Our drinks came right away. The pizza arrived and we really enjoyed it. It had a thing crisp crust with a glaze of tomato sauce. I would order extra sauce next time, but most probably enjoy it the way it came out. The sausage was tasty and the mushrooms and jalapeño were fresh, not canned (bonus). It was topped with an adequate amount of mozzarella. Not good at giving ratings, but I would say 8 out of 10 which is high to our taste. Shortly after our pizza arrived the place literally filled up and there was a line for people picking up. We will definitely be back. Now one of our favorites in the area. read more

Until recently, I was a professor at Trinity Christian College, and during the summers I taught classes on Monday nights. Almost every week I ordered one of your half-price pizzas. Some pizza is delicious, some pizza is affordable, but Mid-Villa on Mondays is both. I never dined in, but the pick-up service was always quick and professional. With Trinity closing, I won't be around anymore, but I want to thank you for all the years of fueling my four-hour night classes. You are one of the best restaurants in Palos and one of the things that I'll miss the most. read more

I waited over 50 years to finally try Mid Villa Pizza again after remembering the original Midlothian location from years ago. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to the memories. The pizza itself was a fair regular thin crust, but in my opinion it was nowhere close to what I remembered from the original place, despite the claims about using the original recipe. What really disappointed me was the customer service, which I would honestly rate as 1 star. I was told my order would be ready in an hour, which I understood. I even arrived early because of traffic concerns. Once there, I was told it would be another 15 minutes. Instead, I ended up waiting nearly 35 more minutes. Then came the moment that completely changed the tone of the experience. While I was still standing there waiting beyond my promised time, another customer walked in, placed a fresh to-go order for a regular thin crust pizza, and was told it would be ready in only 30 minutes. At that point, it felt less like a delay and more like I was watching my own time somehow carry less value than the next person through the door. That was the real "drop the mic" moment for me. You cannot tell a customer who has already waited well past expectations one thing, then immediately present a faster timeline to someone ordering on the spot and expect that not to leave an impression. After waiting half a century out of curiosity to taste Mid Villa again, I can honestly say that box has now been checked, and I will not be returning. I'll continue having my pizza gatherings in Homewood with The Pope's Favorite, where loyalty, consistency, and customer respect still seem to matter. read more

Best pizza in town, and what more can you ask for than 1/2 off the pizza's pies on Monday. You can also have a beer while you wait.

I would give them a negative stars if I could, I remember coming here two years ago with friends, and the dude there was rude and seemed racist. My friend and I go in there asking for a menu for the pizzas and this dude literally said "I don't know if you could afford my prices" I looked at my friend in shocked that he would say that to us. But anyway I still asked for the menu and he gave it to me with attitude and so I ordered a pizza and man not only was this place rude but the pizza was honestly not all good, it was so thin I wouldn't even consider it a pizza. I just ordered Pizza for the Very First Time to take to my work since my Boss was treating us. Wow what a HUGE disappointment!!!! When placing the order I asked about their sauce and if they usually put enough on the pizza. Of course the response was yes well WRONG as they do not. The pizza was very Dry and super Salty. When I called to complain to the Owner all she could say was Oh I am sorry you feel that way about the Pizza. My wife and I went to Mid Villa last night for the first time and I now have a new favorite pizza place. The pizza was absolutely awesome and I am not the type of person that gives out empty compliments. I have tried pizza all over Chicago, someone tell me about a good pizza joint and I try it out and Mid Villa is up there with the best I have eaten. Not only do they have great food but the owners who served me were the best. To say these people were nice is an understatement, they made us feel like we were old friends. They also have Chicago baseball covered they are split one Sox fan and one Cubs fan, so pizza enthusiast do yourself a favor and go try Mid Villa pizza. Went last night for about the tenth time. So glad we discovered this mom and pop pizza parlor - Wow. Hostess/ owner will greet you, chat with you, and take perfect care of you. She makes the salads and a lot of the dressings herself. Go to Cooper Hawk and get a dinner salad for 6.95 - then come here - for 1/2 the price you get triple the salad !.... on the side salad you get mouse made dressing, tomato, cucumber, onion, carrot, yellow peppers - and field greens! Wtf. Very impressive! We had eggplant parm sandwich, a burger smothered w onions and mushrooms, ravioli, and a brooked chicken sandwich. They load the plate with fries - you cannot eat it all. Just read a post on another site where customer walked in with a mask and owner told him "take that sh*t off wearing that is fu*@ing herding mentality" Man definitely has a few screws loose. This pizza is pretty much the best around, Palos is quite the pizza desert. We are always satisfied with the pizza, but man what is up with the pizza chef who is always there? He couldn't possibly be more rude. It makes me chuckle to see cute little signs that read "this kitchen is seasoned with love!" and "our shop is your shop!" The man's face is seasoned with disdain and I couldn't feel like a more unwelcome burden in the shop so those signs are hilarious. I would love to go there and have a truly lovely experience so I can come back and upgrade this review, but until that happens, I offer 3 stars for having the best pizza in the zip code! read more

I stopped in Mid Villa Pizza for a donation for a benefit for my brother who has ALS. And the mgr said hat they only give donations to people from Palos. I couldn't believe they told me that. Then I went to Joe's Italian Villa across the street and they gave me $50 in gift certificates and they even offered to put up the poster for the benefit on their door. So they'll be getting my business for sure. read more

Wonderful pizza! Crust is perfect and sauce is tangy. I eat there at least once a week. My children love the Bosco sticks. Pasta is delicious and there Alfred sauce is a personal favorite. Owners are fantastic and they have there daughter there most days. What a wonderful way to teach her about responsibilities. read more

I wish I could review the food but unfortunately we never got that far... On Monday Apr, 26th We visited this establishment as a family group of 5 (4 people over 50 yrs old and one 17 yr old). We arrived just before 4 pm and the restaurant didn't open till 4 pm. The first person we encountered (a blond woman ) parked her car out front looked at us not saying a word to us pulled out keys and opened the front door and proceeded in she shortly turned on the bar lights in the front window. We waited a few more minutes and proceeded in and stayed by the front door to wait to be seated (masks on, as the signs out front threatened if you didn't have it on you would be asked to leave. The same woman (no mask on) came out of the back and said "sit wherever" no welcome, no hello, no how are you. I told her we were a party of five and would it be OK if we put two tables together she said sure. My sister in law went to the washroom and when she returned my brother in law went thinking there was only one (but there are a men's and women's) which is located down the hall by the back door which cannot be seen from the small dining area. We gave our drink order and as we did my brother in law returned to the table so we ordered (1 large -cheese, tomato, and spinach.. and 1 large- deluxe minus the Canadian Baconto which she said " the deluxe is a specialty pizza and not half price to which I said OK then give us a sausage, green pepper, mushroom, and onion which is a 4 ingredient pizza (deluxe) minus the Canadian bacon, but I guess she couldn't work that out on her own... (whatever) (I not even sure if this is what set the following events in motion). We sat conversing ( my brother in law even told me the story of how when he grew up in Midlothian (where restaurant was originally located ) this was his favorite pizza and how the son took over and then it wound up in Palos Heights) and a couple of more people walked in and stood by the counter. Then a guy (early to mid 40s, scruffy beard) came stomping out of the back past the customers at the counter looked directly at us and said aggressively and angerly " don't put paper towels in the urinal". Then turned to walk back. We all looked at each other confused and befuddled. I said " did he just accuse us patrons of his restaurant of putting paper towel in his urinal" he must of heard me and turned back toward us. I told him only two of used the washrooms, my brother in law then told him that he did not put paper towel in the urinal, and my sister in law informed him that when she went to the washroom that the toilet had toilet paper in it and the garbage bin was full. To which the man aggressively stated that's not possible because his fiancee cleaned the bathrooms before they opened and she just checked again and there was paper towel in the urinal. We informed him that we walked in right after the woman when she opened the front door and my sister in law went right to the restroom. I asked to why would we put paper in the urinal anyway. The man then aggressively stated in a even more raised voice "are you calling my fiancee a liar" ( I later surmised that if the restrooms had already been cleaned why was there a need for his fiancee to check the mens washroom again).I said "I don't know about that" and "he was out of line accusing patrons of his restaurant ". He again stated "so then your calling my fiancee a liar to which I said "are you accusing us of being liars. and what proof does he have that it was us ? "A couple of words were exchanged then he aggressively approached and then pointed to the door and said "get out" I stood up and said "no problem I wouldn't eat here now anyway"the rest of my party rose to their feet and headed toward the door. Some more words were heatedly exchanged which I don't quite remember cause anger blindness was taking over at this point he again stated "I don't need this get the hell out. I yelled "wait to you see your Yelp review on this"', to which he responded F U and I believe I replied no F U you A -hole or something like that. I walked out to my car parked out front opened my door and he aggressively followed us out of the restaurant and moved toward me me and said "what did you F-ing call me puffing himself up and acting in a attack stature. I moved forward of my door got in a defensive posture and said "you heard me" then he luckily halted his advance. More heated words were exchanged between our party and this gentleman of which I really can't remember except saying multiple times what purpose would we have to put paper in his urinal and he was out of his mind. We all got in our cars and left without further incident. I don't know what issues this guy had or what happened in the washroom but I know he was way out of line the way he handled it. I am a 16 yr retired firefighter of 52 years old and I have never been treated like this in a business of any type. WTF !!! read more

I've tried the beef sandwich w/ chips (4.5/5.0) and the BLT (4.0/5.0) but clearly the best meal I've had is the pizza. Sweet type of sauce with just enough cheese. Reminds me of Palermo's but better. Nice atmosphere. Small, but clean and new feeling. Very nice staff. I'll be back again. read more

I have gone here several times and the pizza is pretty good. The service could be better if they decide to employ more staff. The waiter is doing the best job he could possibly do but having the responsibility to be the waiter, bartender, host and cashier is asking way too much for this young man. They try really hard with their other menu items but I would stick to ordering the pizza. read more

My husband and I ate here last week and were VERY pleasantly surprised. Our favorite pizza placed closed :( and we were worried about having to try yet ANOTHER place to fine a good pizza. This is definitely the place. We had a small pizza which was MORE than enough for the two of us, and we loved it. Ingredients were fresh, wonderful and plentiful. It's a nice, small, neighborhood place....clean and friendly, and they serve nice cold beer at a reasonable price. We will be back often. read more

Horrible is an understatement. I ordered a thin crust sausage and onion pizza. The pizza was like mush. Basically when I attempted to pick up a slice of the "pizza" it just fell apart. The onions were raw and not even cooked, and the so called "sausage" tasted like tofu. I also ordered garlic bread, which was also raw/barely toasted and had a fake butter/margarine taste. Do yourself a favor and get a frozen pizza from the store, trust me, it will be a heck of a lot better and you will have $24.00 extra dollars in your pocket! read more

I'm liking Mid Villa pizza. It's a little far to pick up for me, but worth it. The crust on their thin crust pie was awesome. Small place, it would probably fit in your backpack it's so small and every table was taken on Friday evening. Parking is kind of scarce so leave early if you're picking up! I have been at the new mid villa restaurant in palos numerous times since the opening. I am very pleased with the quality of food, service, as well as the atmosphere of the restaurant. Because of the diverse menu I try and get something different every visit. So far I've had the pizza, fish n chips, and lasagna. Zero complaints on all. For having such a wide range of menu items I was surprised at how fairly priced everything was. Besides the wide range of food choices mid villa also has a great beer and liquor selection. The bartenders, servers and cooks are friendly and make mid villa a great place to enjoy a meal and/or drink. I believe mid villa is a great addition to the palos community and I see it sticking around for many years to come read more
