I reached out to Masaki on May 13 regarding my concerns and attempted to resolve the issue privately. I never received a response. It has now been about a month, and despite giving plenty of time for a reply, I have been ignored. I did not immediately leave reviews or make public comments because I wanted to give him the opportunity to address the situation directly. Unfortunately, that opportunity was never taken. For $480, I expected a higher standard of work and customer service. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Masaki.

I can't even get it fixed because it is so much shorter than I wanted. There are huge "texture" discrepancies all over my hair, the most obvious being in the back near my neck. There's also a strand of hair far longer than the entire length of my bob cut. I don't even understand how this happened. I'm so traumatized. I would never recommend this place and will never ever come back. I really had 1 chance to get a cut as a treat to myself, since I really don't have extra time to spare. And now I have to live with this until it grows out, definitely more than 6 more months. If I could give -1000 stars, I would. Please do yourself a favor and find a salon that can do a nice cut for long AND SHORT hair. WITHOUT A PERM TO MAKE IT ALL STRAIGHT FIRST. The skill level here is just so sub par. This really pissed me off because in the middle of my appointment, I even heard an assistant ask in Mandarin "is she getting a haircut?" and the stylist shook his head. I was really unhappy with my hair that I went to get a hair treatment (for the dry, damaged hair) and toner at a different salon a week later. That stylist even asked "who did your hair?"

They tested a strain on my hair and it turned out red, and said that I wouldn't be able to go ash blonde. I was a bit disappointed to see that it looked nothing like the picture and it was fake rose petals which I thought was weird. I'll give them an A for effort though although it looked nothing like the picture. The massage was amazing. She did a really great job. Most of my massages are pretty rough but she did a great job with light to medium pressure. I really liked the glass of champagne and the chocolate truffles. The private soak was nice but I really enjoyed the sauna. It was definitely a great experience. Came out feeling revitalized. My boyfriend really enjoyed the massage and the amenities.

I read these reviews before my cut and I dismissed them thinking that maybe these were extreme cases. So PLEASE read this and re-think your decision to go to Arrojo Studio. I decided after having long hair for years that I was ready for a big change. I was hugely excited about it. I had seen Nick on What Not to Wear and felt that if I was going to do something really different (i.e. cut 10 inches off my hair) I wanted to go to "the best." This was simply the BIGGEST mistake ever. My entire experience at Arrojo Studio was horrible. From start to finish. First of all, the salon was a surprise. It is small, not well kept and very bare bones. There is nothing luxurious or even really nice about it. It's a total churn and burn environment which would describe my experience there. I felt like I got thrown into this money making machine that could care less about my experience or even how I left their salon looking. Clearly they take no pride in the satisfaction of their customers. Nick was cold and dismissive and apparently, his full consultation which they stand behind is 3 minutes total (I found this out after my visit there because I called before I booked to make sure there would be plenty of time to talk to Nick about styles. They lied and told me there would be.) I didn't even get 2 minutes before in mid conversation, he lopped off about 7 inches from my head even though I had wanted to donate my hair to charity. He never offered any ideas or suggestions about what we could do with my hair. He just sent me to shampoo and started cutting. I also for the first time ever invested in highlights. Another $200. I have photographic proof that my hair is darker now than it has ever been, which is absolutely absurd. In addition, they added in pricey services without informing me and charged me for them. I have complained about this and they have had no response to that issue. Needless to say my hairstyle was absolutely horrible and I mean HORRIBLE. I left the salon feeling the worst I have ever felt about myself. I have wavy hair and it was as if he didn't even take into consideration how my hair would look dry. It is super poofy and not at all flattering. He never even styled my hair, he put his products in and shoved me under a hot lamp for about 20 minutes which I finally had to move out from under because it was burning my neck and shoulders. He then came over, ran his fingers through it until it was puffed up to ungodly proportions while still looking totally greasy due to all the product and sent me on my way. He never asked what I thought or how I felt, nor did any of his staff who's main job was to load me up with another $100 worth of crappy products before I left. This entire experience cost me almost 4 hours of my time and over $800 for a haircut that looked like I stopped by Supercuts. Everyone who has seen my hair has commented that it doesn't look good. I have since emailed Nick regarding how upset I am with both my cut and color not to mention being treated like chattle. I included pictures of my darker hair (before and after). I have asked for at least a partial refund for my invisible highlights to which the response has been a polite, "come back and we'll fix it." I have repeatedly asked for a refund and at this point they are no longer responding. I am 4 hours round trip from NYC and certainly would not be willing to take another day off to travel to a place that treated me terribly. If you are thinking of getting your haircut by a top professional, look for some of the other big names in NYC. They are less expensive and I am going to guess, far more talented and service oriented. I found out today (weeks after my cut) that a friend had gone to Nick a few years ago and ended up with basically a mullet. She said it was one of the most traumatic experiences and she wish she could've warned me in advance not to go. Save yourself, your money and your hair! You will be hugely disappointed. read more

First off I will say, I absolutely LOVE my haircut I received from Huich at Arrojo! I was recruited for one of the "model" classes by Huich and Gardner as I was walking through Washington Square Park. I was in desperate need of a haircut, and I have yet to find a salon I really like. They asked me about being a hair model for an A-Line haircut class that is a part of their training, and that the haircut would be $25, instead of $100+ After living in NYC for 5 years and being suckered once, I have to admit I was skeptical about a bait and switch scam. I did feel more at ease when I read the reviews, and even when I got to the Salon. The space itself is beautiful! It's modern decor is warm and inviting and the person at the front desk as you walk in was also warm and inviting, as was the entire staff. The other clients and staff were all smiles. I really felt at ease because I can sometimes feel insecure when going into a salon, let alone one revered like Arrojo. Though I did not feel that way here. I felt comfortable. This was also my first time as a hair model and it was a pleasant experience. Huich did her consultation, and she reviewed her consultation with the Master Stylist instructor (I believe it was Gerard, I could be wrong though), who was very sweet and professional. My hair itself is very simple and healthy, not really high-maintancence at all. I have very sensitive skin and I was even more happy that they had a shampoo and conditioner line for sensitive skin. The hair cut itself took about 90 minutes. I also learned that an A-line Bob is an intense haircut for a stylist to learn, and Huich did an AWESOME job! I even learned what a good Bob looks like just from hearing/watching Gerard making suggestions to Huich as they reviewed the milestones of the haircut, so it was even cooler! After about 90 minutes Huich began the styling/drying of my haircut. She took great care with my hair and it was probably the best styling/drying I had ever had! My hair feels like silk, it has amazing volume and it falls so nicely! Some of you may say "2 1/2 hours, crap!" This was a class, and a hard haircut to learn for the stylist. I'd rather it take 2 1/2 hours, than someone just blazing through carelessly and not asking their instructor questions. I also learned about my hairstyle of choice, and realized I had some pretty awful Bobs done at other NYC salons. Also, being an artist as well, it was very nice seeing how kind the Senior Artist was to the up and coming artist. And honestly $25 for a cut from a major league salon, in this economy, that has nice people, it's a no-brainer! Don't be afraid! Just one note, and it's not any kind of negative note: If you are solicited for an "A-Line Bob", that is what you will get. Don't expect to get a crazy off the cuff hair-do with colors etc for $25. However, expect a classic, clean cut :) And if you come across Huich from Arrojo Salon and she is asking you to be her hair model, do it! She's cool and confident! I went to this salon many times over the years, not regularly, i go there cos its a practical location for me and you can get appointments easily, and i have to say i've been happy just once, and that is when i used senior/master stylists. So you get what you pay for. I had a cut and blow dry with Hunter and he did both, and results were amazing he had a technique to blow dry and creates waves (waves, not curls keep that in mind) which is quick and no curling irons.wonderful. BUT: Every single time i used level 1/2 or top stylists/colorists I've been always disappointed, the color is always darker, they push for the gloss which has a bad smell and it is supposed to make your hair shine instead my brown hair looks dull and heavy, and they use lots of style products which in a few days will make your hair greasy and heavy. But what really makes me wanna cry for spending 200$ is that none of the persons they assigned to me (except for masters) could make a decent blow dry. And they call it professional blow dry!!!!!!! I am so saddened and depressed about this that i really have to force myself not to cry. They do not know the difference between a wave and a curl, you know how many times i asked for loose beach waves they say "yes no problem" and ended up with a 1970 style blow dry where they straighten your hair and curl the end, that looks very old and awful like I lost 10 years of youth in one hour. So i came to conclusion that the train they receive its just not right and they put this girls on the floor too early to start with blow dry. If you choose a top colorist then the blow dry is performed by another girl usually very young(got it right?) and you end up having three or four different persons doing your hair. This is women hair we are talking about, the most important part which builds or crashes our confidence ! How hard could it be to learn that to create a wave you must blow out away from the face twist brush mid lenght and keep the tip ends straight at most Instead they keep rolling two or three times the brush pointing towards the floor curling till the end ... I just hate that. So MY QUESTION IS THAT: is it just me? How difficult is to get beachy waves ? Just google images beach waves and that is what i want and never ever get. Beach waves are all over yet so hard to get at this hair saloons? Or maybe they call it differently or is it another extra service? Everytime i brought pictures it was like i never showed 'em. So i think i will not visit this salon anymore no matter what. This is the first review I have written about a hair stylist b/c I don't normally want to affect anyone's career one way or another since these experiences are so subjective. However I feel it is an obligatory public service to recount what I felt was one of the worst haircuts I've ever had (and I have had a lot of haircuts!!). DISCLAIMER: Before my haircut, I had color done at Arrojo with Lourdes, and she was amazing!! Intuitive, relaxed, and respectful. And the color she gave me was exactly what I wanted. 5 stars!! Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of my haircut with Victoria. I felt as if she and I were speaking two different languages, and my hair now looks awful. When I first sat down, instead of combing out the individual knots in my hair, she just put the brush through and pulled! Ouch! Then when my bangs started looking way too heavy and short (I normally keep them long and sideswept), she got very awkwardly defensive. Every time I explained to her what I had in fact wanted, she looked at me like I didn't know what I was talking about. It was probably one of the most painful attempts at communication I have ever had. She kept looking at me wearily and telling me she didn't want to argue with me when I would correct her about what length my hair was when I came in and what I had originally told her I wanted. By the end I had to ask her to just stop cutting because she was just making the crown shorter and shorter. I have very long hair, so now it looks almost helmit-ish. At that point, she rudely handed me all my stuff and said goodbye before I had even gotten up from the chair. I was in total shock and sought out the manager, and while we were speaking, one of Victoria's other clients who had been sitting next to us came up to me and the manager to say that she loved Victoria and I had been "slightly rude." I felt like she was sending her posse over to protect her! And if you're reading this Victoria's friend, you would be "slightly rude" too if someone was butchering your hair and defending it!! Anyways, the manager was incredibly understanding and polite and told me that she would fix my hair when it grew out. And it must be said that I have heard GREAT things about this salon, and I am positive that there are a lot of great stylists working there. I will definitely be going back to Lourdes in the future and to another stylist for cuts. read more

I just wanted to check in because for once in my life I'm super happy with a haircut I received from a recommended Arrojo stylist named Hilary a month ago, and unlike most specific cuts that unravel and lose their shape after a few weeks, this go round, the finished cut was exactly what I was looking for...and now more than a month later it's still great-looking. Hilary had prognosticated how it would shape my face and noggin over time! I hate getting haircuts, and after a year without a cut my hair had grown into a long unruly shag, five inches below my neckline, bushy on the sides. I looked like I was in hiding from myself. I was. With an untrimmed beard, I was starting to look too disheveled in suits. And it was like, work. I've always favored a '70s kind of look with hair and clothes. Vainly, I brought Hilary a photo of Robert Redford in one of the great new Westerns from the early '70s: "Jeremiah Johnson," the original "Revenant." Not that I felt I looked like him! I said, "Do this. But only if it works." The young Redford look was a shorter shaggier cut, slightly parted bangs to one side. The sides were effortlessly feathered, sort of blending into his sideburns. Hilary "got" it immediately. There wasn't a lot of chitter-chatter, just business, and sweet smile. (Side note: It's always a good sign when you like the style of your hair stylist's hair too--I did.) Unlike a recent review I had read earlier of Hilary on Yelp, she barely used a razor at all. And I can now both wear my hair in my face, bangs cut at varying lengths, or slick it back or to one side. I can be a mountain man or a cleaned up businessman! During the cut I just felt at ease, NOT my typical mindset, as she clipped away, even watching that long crop of hair fall to the floor. Truth be told, I got my haircut for my wife, and she has great style and taste. The ultimate seal of approval came from her. She loves it! Good enuff! Thanks, Hilary! This is a ONE-STAR review: Yelps has kept deleting it, so I'll try with two stars. At Arrojo Studio I had the worst experience I have ever had in a hair salon and I am extremely unhappy with the result. I was not given a say in how my hair was cut! I was approached by a stylist to come in as a model. I was willing to take some risks but I was not prepared for not being informed - or rather being mis-informed - about how my hair was going to be cut. I understand that trainee stylists are still learning how to communicate with the client, but I do not think it excusable that her teacher paid no attention to me or to the trainee's communication with me. To cut a long story short (and it was long -- 2.5 hours!), neither the trainee nor her teacher paid any attention to my repeated questioning about what they were doing and my express worry that they were cutting my hair too short. They were in the process of giving me a short hair cut (a 'graduated bob' as they kept on telling me), before I called for help in the presence of a second teacher. It is only then that some attention was paid to the person who's hair was being chopped according to a set formula, and it is only half way through that chopping, with the back of my head almost hairless, that the team 'changed direction' in their cutting and tried to save some of what could still be saved. I now have hair that is shorter than I would ever have agreed to, with very short hair on the lower back half of my head only just covered by a thin layer of longer top hair. Let it be added that I had to pay for this experience. The 2.5 hours in the studio were traumatising and I am devastated by the result. It will take a year for my hair to grow back to how I expected to have it cut when I went into the studio. I'm in LOVE! I've been to a few fancy schmancy salons uptown, that, despite all the hype and publicity, did not impress me one bit. Arrojo is a hidden gem. I stopped by on a Friday night for a free consultation (wanted a brand new, fun haircut) and was paired up with Esther. The salon was buzzing with people, but everyone is SUPER friendly and smiley, and it's easy to see that they love their work. I felt so comfortable there -- never rushed, never pushed into buying services I didn't need. There are many salons in this city where you'll walk in, and the staff will treat you like you should feel lucky to have gotten an appointment with them. Here, *I* felt like the star -- as one should, when they're dropping a good amount of money for a haircut. That said, prices are very reasonable for the fabulous services and quality of staff. My stylist, Esther, was fantastic! She's very cool, artistic and laid back. I had long, straight hair and a very plain style -- I wanted something different, but wasn't sure what to do. Esther had a vision and explained what she thought would look good on me. She took her time and made sure it was exactly what I wanted. It's one of the best cuts I've ever had! I brought my best friend back the next day to get her hair cut, too! She was paired up with Topher, who did a terrific job and actually listened to what my friend wanted in a haircut. I did my research on this channel and went with the popular recommendation of booking Tina for a haircut and Bea for color. I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Tina's a good listener, doesn't cut an inch shorter than what I wished and gave good tips on a DIY blowout. I've had so many bad experiences with stylists who cut shorter than requested (it'll grow to that eventual length, they say), I'm so pleasantly surprised that Tina just nailed the haircut with ease (and a razor)! I would also like to commend her for giving her assistants a chance to blow dry my hair and teaching them along the way. The assistants aren't afraid to ask for help too instead of winging it. What I saw and experienced is testimonial to the reputation of Arrojo as educators in the industry. Bea had such wonderful, positive energy coupled with an eye for detail. She went the extra mile to combine foil and hand painting techniques for my balayage as I've got very dark hair. She also multitasked well, frequently checking if my hair has lifted to the degree that she wants. As my hair is very dark, she's had to overlift to get it past the orange stage before putting in a double glaze for a more natural sunkissed look. I have great respect for people who take pride in their work and Bea is one of them. I highly recommend an appointment with Arrojo on a Sunday morning. That's the least busy day of their week and you'll get undivided attention from the staff. Last brownie point goes to the fact that they don't do things like charge for wash and blow dry. I love Arrojo. Ashley is absolutely amazing; she is always attentive to what I need and has a true talent for color and impeccable style. I have been going to Ashley for years now, and I am always so amazed at her color abilities. I have trusted her with my highlights for years, then a drastic change to a dark rich brown, and then gradually back to very blonde throughout the years. I am a natural brunette, but Ashley has transformed me into a healthy blonde....something that few colorists can achieve without completely damaging my hair. Not to mention, I fool everyone to think I am a true blonde. Trust me, I have tried my fair share of colorists in some of the trendiest spots in the city, but was always disappointed with brassy, broken hair and really poor service at unreasonable prices. I always felt like other stylists and colorists never really listened or made me feel comfortable. It just seemed unfair, and I was always skeptical to get my hair done. Ashley, on the other hand, from day one has been wonderful, understanding my own personal style and needs. I completely trust her and always leave feeling amazing. Overall, the service is amazing. I've been going to Eve (colorist) for several years now, ever since she was first starting as an apprentice, and she is so incredibly talented and wonderful. She always does exactly what I want, even when I don't know the vocabulary to describe it. I went to her for blonde highlights for a long time, and they were always so natural that even the person who cut my hair didn't think I got it colored, which I think is a huge compliment. Then, when I decided I wanted to go redder, she helped me do so in a natural way that again brought out my natural skin tone and eye color. She is seriously a genius with color, and she's always getting better. I think she even does tutorials at Arrojo now for other stylists. She also never pushes me to get extra processes done or to buy products she doesn't think would be good for my hair, which I really appreciate. Plus, she knows I'm on a budget, so she goes out of her way to give me treatments that she knows will grow out well, since I can't come back for refreshers as often as I like. This girl is the best -- and super friendly and personable as well. Her work is so beautiful that I actually follow her on Instagram to give me ideas in between visits. im going to be real gentle here and not ask why...they ask you what type of cut your looking for; when they wont acknowledge and deliver? w i had a simple request to skin the side and back of my head.. no layering, no fading needed,. my barber whose name who is NOT Adrian (who had many prison tattoos, , was offered the mirror from his fellow trainee.. and thought i didn't notice him shaking his head to avoid showing me he made an irregular, really awkward and bizarre outline, after sitting for 2 1/2 hours being polite and repeating what i wanted in the gentlest way for fear he might get upset. This is past the point when the pretending to cut my hair dragged on so long, that the clippers were overheating and started to burn me. If Grace nice enough to step in to help her subordinate to help an older white gentleman in his 50s next to me get the perfect look for his hair AND his beard, I kept wondering why she continue to neglect the cosmology student that was failing me, and her classes reputation. Maybe its a male/female thing, maybe it's the fact that they dont assume someone of my appearance did 12 years overseas in a combat role for a war that didnt serve me. Although you could easily drop a cool grand at this place by going to Nick Arrojo himself, I had a fantastic cut and color experience with Reese and Dylan for under $150. Regardless of what you're paying, everyone seems to be greeted the same way, with a smile and an awesome smock, complete with changing rooms to prepare for your experience. It is an experience - I was in the salon for over three hours for my cut and color, but it was worth it. Dylan did my color, and gave me the exact shade of red I wanted. Reds are hard to nail but she did it, and she was a joy to chat to along the way. She took several minutes before the color getting to know me as a person in addition to talking about what color I wanted, which I thought was a nice touch. Speaking of attention to detail, Reese spent so much time cutting my hair that it had almost completely dried by the time he was done - he gave me new layers on my long curly locks which I love. He also blew out my hair flawlessly. Reese and Dylan made me feel like a star, and I walked out absolutely loving my new do and excited to go back again. read more

I was going to a really expensive salon for over a year-and-a-half, but coughing up $150 every three weeks for a haircut was a BIT out of my budget. I had heard of Arrojo through industry talk, so I decided to take the plunge and try it. I explained my hair to the receptionist on the phone, and she recommended Tatum. May I just say, I owe the WORLD to that receptionist: Tatum is seriously a godsend. Forsaking clippers and other fast-cutting techniques, Tatum really gets down to business with his scissors. He's a master at creating a balance between short sides, a clean back, and a texturized top, and has even encouraged me to grow my hair so I can experiment with new looks. Beyond Tatum's expertise (and killer product recs: the Texture Paste is awesome, as is the super-inexpensive Daily Shampoo), it's the energy of the entire staff that makes me happy. The girls who shampoo me are adorable and know how to wake me up before a long work day. I'm really happy with my hair and love visiting Tatum at Arrojo. He deserves this great review! read more

One word to describe this place: Amazing. One word to describe my haircut with Amanda J: PHENOMENAL!! I walk by this place every day and was always so scared to walk in. Everybody looks flawless and I felt self conscious. Well I am so happy I finally bit the bullet cuz I will never turn back. Everyone that worked there from the front desk to my assistant was super friendly and very accommodating. I have been to the best of the best (Vidal Sassoon, Bumble and Bumble, Frederick Fekai) and none of them can hold a candle to the cut that I got from Amanda. My hair is thick wavy and unmanageable and the cut I got was extraordinary. I get stopped on the street all the time to find out who cuts my hair. I feel so special. She just gets hair. She gave me a look that works for me. I can blowdry it straight when I have time and I can wear it curly when I need to save a few minutes in the morning. The cut looks great both ways. Hector Osorio is the best hair artisan in the five boroughs! I have followed him for the past twenty five years and would never consider using anyone else. Hands down and hands up, Hector is the most talented stylist and colorist that Arrojo could have hoped to have snagged. His experience, creativity, immagination, versatility, expertise, and originality are peerless!!! Combine this with his tremendous humor, his authenticity; sincere and gracious personality;his fierce loyalty and dedication; his unmatched professionalism, and a litany of other star qualities are all reflected and manifested in the stunning results he has time and again achieved for me. This review would be a 4, simply because it's tough to bite the bullet for an expensive hair cut (I know, I should compare my costs to my husbands $7 trim, but still...). The salon is awesome, the vibe is great, and I am always on the verge of falling asleep when getting my hair washed because those assistants give magical scalp massages. The thing that convinced me to bump it up to 5 is my stylist. TOPHER! Oh, how I love Topher. Flawless cut, every time. Easiest person in the world to chat with - I feel like I am visiting an old friend every time I come in. And I am continually impressed by his personable professionalism; he knows what I do for a living, so knows what gambles I may or may not be able to take with my cut, he remembers my husband, he's just awesome. I have seen him do far more creative work than I can do with my hair, like asymmetrical cuts and those cool patterns shaved into heads. So impressive. My hair was styled by Rea Winter and I couldn't be more happy with the results. I have been cutting my hair for years because I've been butchered so many hair stylists that wouldn't listen or the classic - "oh I'll just trim a little" - then 4 inches come off! I couldn't imagine that ever happening with Rea. Rea saw the potential of the messy bob, that had a long layer up top and a grown out shaved layer underneath and created a shorter style - blending the extreme layers I had put in and razoring it so it looks more "lived in." I had no idea I could have a style framing my cheekbones that could look so feminine and soft at the same time. She talked me through each step of the process using extensive vocabulary to explain exactly what she had in mind and the results match her words perfectly. I wish I could include a picture! She even improved my bangs, only taking off what she needed to achieve the shape she had in mind. I'm so glad I trusted her expertise. I am now officially out of my style rut! read more

Arrojo is great, because Topher (my stylist) is great. Before Topher, I had terrible stylist luck. Because I have thick, yet fine hair that only knows how to lay flat, no one knew what to do with it. But Topher breathed new life into it, and brightened my day at the same time. He knows I like to keep it fresh, so he always has ideas for new looks. He's not afraid to get creative, but he can also keep it classy. And, he listens to me when I tell him what I want. And once he's done, he'll go the extra mile to make sure I love LOVE it and know how to rock the new look. The salon is modern and clean but the stylists add warm flavor to the cool energy. Even the receptionist and cashier crew were sweet. No 'tude, just great hair! A friend (Sonia Z.) recommended Topher, and I've thus recommended him to everyone else, now you. As a 27 year old woman who has never gotten her hair colored before, I was a little nervous to allow anyone to do anything crazy to my hair, let alone the very popular balayage treatment. I wish I had known there was absolutely nothing to worry about, because my colorist, Paula, did an amazing job and really listened to my every concern/request. First of all, the salon itself is gorgeous and clean. They have a cute cafe, and a nice waiting area as well. Everyone I came in contact with was very friendly and helpful, but Paula herself definitely stood out as professional, knowledgeable and talented. She gave advice when I needed it in an easy going manner and made my overall experience fun and seamless. My hair itself looked great and gave me the perfect amount of subtle color that I was going for. Just about every day after having gotten my hair done I had so many compliments from various people. Visiting from Switzerland, I wasn't sure where to go in NYC to get my haircut. My friend who I was staying with swore by Arrojo and her hairstylist, Corrinn, so I booked an appointment very quickly, which was great because I was only in town for a week. The salon was very easy to find and very open and nice on the inside. The receptionist was warm and welcoming and Corrinn was even sweeter than my friend had described. I only wanted a simple trim, and she was happy to cut my hair exactly how I wanted. My hair looked absolutely amazing when she was done - my hair had never felt more soft! I picked up a few products on my way out that Corrinn had used. I highly recommend Arrojo and Corrinn! Also, all of the hairdressers there are so pretty, and all of their customers looked happy, which I think is a great sign! Thanks Corrinn! After checking out the website and looking on Instagram, I finally decided to go to Chenoh. I liked that her page had a lot of different haircuts and that the lines on the haircuts looked really nice. The salon itself is very small but charming. There is a lot to look at - which I really liked. I also liked that the music was good and that it wasn't too loud or too quiet. Everyone seemed to be in their own zone but also respectful of everyone else's space. There is no pretense. I felt like Chenoh really understood what I wanted from a haircut and color. I left feeling like a refreshed version of me.

I had booked and confirmed my appointment with Esme. I showed up 5 minutes early to my 10:00 am…read moreappointment. I waited for the stylist to show up until 10:15 am, at which point I asked the receptionist if Esme was on the way. She said she would call him, which surprised me as I imagined she'd have done it a while ago. She then informed me that the stylist got his schedule wrong and would not be in until 11:00 am, but that he would cut my hair for free to make up for the mixup. When I returned at 11:00 am, he was working on someone else and I still had to wait. When he did come over to me, he was only mildly apologetic. He asked what I was hoping to get done, and I described that I'd like to trim my bangs (which were a whispy fringe), trim my long layers, and trim the ends of my hair by about an inch. He didn't ask for a reference photo and got straight to cutting. He cut my hair dry, which I had never had done before and did not ask for. He proceeded to thin my hair with his scissors at severe angles and barely touched my bangs. After the dry cut, I was shampooed by the receptionist, who only applied shampoo to the front of my head. Then, he dried my hair without any heat protectant--drying my bangs down and flat against my forehead--and cut my bangs from there. I kept having to nitpick the bangs themselves because they were uneven and blunt. Long story short, my hair is thin, my layers are choppy, my bangs are ragged, and my ends are split--he essentially gave me a wolf cut, unprompted. I have never had such a bad salon experience or sloppy haircut in my life. I walked in there with long, thick, wavy hair and came out with a rats nest--choppy layers that stop at my chin and essentially a mullet--that I don't think I can fix. I should have said "forget it" when they offered me the free haircut. Do not go here if you want a proper haircut or to be treated like a proper client.

From when I walked into the salon to walking out was 45 minutes for a wash, cut and blow dry of my really thick, long curly hair. I can't even blow out my own hair in 45 minutes! I also regularly see Joanna for color who has worked wonders to get me to a nice caramel brunette after I messed up my own hair color at home! Last time I saw her I needed highlights and gray root coverage. She knew I was in a rush, and she managed to do both processes at the same time to get me out of there faster. Highly recommend!

I booked very last minute and was able to get an appointment within a few days which was awesome. I felt comfortable in the salon with the extra precautions in place for COVID (Only 1 other client and stylist were present in the salon). Once there, Haim knew exactly what needed to be done to my hair. I ended up getting a full foil and trim, and it was a relatively quick experience compared to other salons. My hair felt so soft, fluffy and healthy after, and it stayed like that for a few days. Haim told me that he uses only top-shelf products and I could definitely tell. I am still so happy with the results! It's been about 1 month since I came to Lifestyle Salon and my roots are growing out in a way that is a lot less noticeable than some past experiences I've had with other blond colorists. As someone who has gone to numerous salons across the country- you can tell when someone has experience like Haim and really knows what they're doing.
