Got the whole dinner, it was great. For under $20, you can't beat it! Nice folks working there as well.

This will be one of our new go-to for weeknight takeout. Split the complete meal between three adults and had leftovers.

I just started working in the neighborhood and decided to try this for lunch. The chicken sandwich seemed like a good light choice, and I opted for a small side of roasted potatoes. The quality of the food was just okay. The proportions of the sandwich seemed off. It was mostly dry bread and salad with a small amount of what appeared to be shredded chicken. The sauce overwhelmed the rest of the sandwich. I eat the sandwiches just inside Providore all the time, and I'm used to paying ten dollars for one of those. This didn't seem worth it, in my experience. The potatoes were flavorful, but nothing special. I'll stick to Providore and other local fare. read more

Amazing, affordable, fast. We got a whole bird meal and every aspect of it was delicious. Those potatoes are criminally good, and of course the chicken is unreal. First time. We orderd the sandwich which was high-quality and delicious, but extremely messy to eat. Although the food tasted amazing, the service was arrogant, unhelpful, and unwelcoming. A shame. That will probably deter a return visit. read more

This place has loads of potential for me, but the current results are not what they should be. The flavors are great on the chicken and I have no complaints about the bread, salad, potatoes, or sauce. In fact, this is my favorite bread in the world, even compared to all the other restaurants and bakeries I have eaten at. The grilled lemon also makes squeezing far more efficient with lots of flavor. The problems begin when the chicken is brought up. It tastes great, but the skin is a total let down for me. I don't understand how a rotisserie chicken could have such rubbery and soft skin. Once the chicken's skin starts being served crispy and golden-brown Arrosto will become my go-to chicken spot in Portland. I understand moisture becomes an issue when leaving the chicken on the rotisserie for prolonged amounts of time, but in areas of the chicken where meat is dense, it is already rather dry. This being said moisture would not be affected much and the effect should not change the current status of the chicken itself very much. I have eaten here three times now praying that one day the chicken will have the crispy skin I am used to whenever eating rotisserie chicken, but that day has yet to come. Once the skin issue is resolved, this will be a staple in my diet and restaurant recommendations to friends. read more

We had cancelled dinner plans tonight with another couple because I was starting to feel under the weather. I tried to think of some takeout to bring home to my partner. Pizza seemed too fattening and Thai didn't feel right. I thought of Providore's Arrosto window I had seen so many times going to shop there. So, I swung by and bought the half chicken dinner, with salad and potatoes, after 20 minutes, and headed home to my husband. I set the table, placed the potatoes and chicken, covered, in the stove for 15 minutes at 350 degrees, while I settled in. We sat down and served everything up, and were fully satisfied with each bite of full flavor, herbs, and umami. The Arrosto sauce was the perfect compliment of smoky, spice, and citrus acid. For $18, and not spending the $150 on eating out or slaving over the stove for hours, I think we found our perfect family take-out!! Now, onto the comfort of the weekend and rest. read more

I want to be clear as to why I am giving this a one star. This is purely a reaction to the HORRIBLE customer service I received today 1/3/18. The guy at the window refused to look me in the face and refused to answer a question I had. I had to ask three separate times and his response was very condescending. Extremely unprofessional. I was completely disappointed and turned off. He honestly made me feel as if I was inconveniencing him. The first words out of his mouth we're, "That's going to be a 20 to 25 minuet wait." Little did he know I was ordering for a later time all together, but I didn't even get to part before he was ringing me up. He had no interest in serving me and it showed. There is a reason people would pay 18$ for a rotisserie chicken, the food here is amazing. I have never been disappointed in the product, but if this is the customer service I can expect then I will have to do without UPDATE After posting this review the owner Kaie reached out to me to personally apologize for her employee's poor service. Her sincerity and willingness to make my experience right is what will keep me going back. She absolutely did right by me and my friends. Greatest chicken dinner ever! No kidding. The chicken is incredible, flavorful, juicy, crispy, flawless. The grilled lemons were a nice touch and the romesco added additional layers of flavor. The potatoes were perfectly buttery and delicious. We took it home and the focaccia was so good it didn't even make it out of the car. The salad had a nice bitterness to balance the meal. On top of that the whole chicken meal is enough for a family of 4 or 3 adults and only $28!!! I'm surprised this is getting 5 stars. When I get rotisserie chicken, I expect delicious, crisp skin and was disappointed that this did not have it, which made it no better than $5 Costco chicken in my book. Likewise the potatoes lacked that roasted crispiness. The salad and foccacia, however, were excellent. We were the first to arrive so I thought maybe our chicken didn't stay on the fire long enough, but from the look at the photos, they don't seem to care about crispy skin. read more

This is some of the best, most tasty chicken I've ever had served by a very pleasant young woman from a window off the food market. The good news is, you can eat inside and purchase your drinks there as well. The salad, the focaccia were great, but the potatoes roasted in chicken fat (imagine!) were fabulous as was the red dipping sauce served alongside. I'm definitely a fan. read more

The dinner bucket is not only delicious but also a great deal. You can easily feed a family of four for $7/person, or have lots of leftovers. Make sure you look for the potatoes--they're really tasty but easy to miss when dishing up as they are hidden under the chicken; I didn't realize it until too late the first time. Pro Tip: you're going to want to order an extra Arrosto sauce. read more

I was actually looking for Pasta Works (imagine my distress when I finally got my car parked on Hawthorne.) But the folks in the coffee shop were kind enough to send me over with the new name and location. So I pull up on Sandy....and low and behold...there was the yellow sign from the nod in Portland Monthly. OK...this was such a stroke of luck, and I thought...chicken...it's what's for dinner. What was great, because while waiting for my order, I did the rounds in the new Provodore. Wow, I was disappointed...or would have been if not for my new found shot of chicken. Bring back the old Pasta Works! Don't fix it if it ain't broke...and believe me, Pasta Works wasn't broken...at all! Anyway.. I digress. Arrosto... I always hold the fifth star out for a follow up visit! But the smell...OMG, the smell drove me crazy having to drive this home to Scappoose. When I was putting the food away to hold for dinner...I noticed the potatoes were missing. So I called (husband was out in the neighborhood) to have him grab them, only to find out, they were happily soaking up the juices from the chicken. I mention this only to illustrate I didn't cheat and nibble on the drive home, but it was HARD to behave! This smell....divine! I did nibble a bit .... just to confirm the potato was indeed there...had to check...right? Had to sample the sauce..., Lord have mercy! So just one question... how much chicken do I have to buy to get you to open a Scappoose location? I could probably keep your doors open on my business alone! Great job, we will be making the trek until you come to your senses and open one down the street from me! BTW...the young lady at the window...she's great, helped me put the right quantity together for 5 tonight. read more
