This company is best described as revolting. I have had drivers not show up . . . one after the next. And drivers who show up half and hour late sometimes pick up other passengers . . . and make you miss your event. I must say, this review is based upon the expense, not the actual condition of the car or the driver. I needed an emergency ride from a walk-in clinic (Jericho Tpke) to the closest radiology center (Maple Ave) both in Smithtown. The cost was $18 anywhere within Smithtown. So it cost me a total of $22 to travel 1.1 mile. (I Googled the mileage) I had no choice, i was on crutches at the time. I have to say the car was immaculate and the driver very helpful. The service was waiting for us when we needed them, packed and unpacked our luggage safely, and delivered us to our destination in a clean, and smoke-free SUV. Arrow Transportation is my car service du jour, and I suppose it has been for the last couple years. I was originally referred back when I lived in Jersey (an experience that hasn't yet been wiped from my memory--- I don't like to talk about it) and worked late nights in the City and needed a service to get me home after the trains stopped running. Usually on late nights, they could get a car to me within about 20 minutes, which wasn't bad, though it got tougher after 1 am (I don't like talking about these days for more reasons than just living in Jersey). For airport service, they're pretty good, but expensive ($70 for Newark, about $55-$60 for Kennedy). They've always shown up in pretty good order at my place, even on those crazy early mornings. When you come back, call them when you get off the plane, have them meet you outside and their switchboard people are good at making sure you meet up (having the guy meet you inside and then pull the car around takes forever and you still have to go through the grief of finding him/her). You just have to be careful if your flight is delayed because sometimes they try to hit you for wait time. Don't let them do it though as they should be plugged into those delays and only charge you for wait time for after the flight has arrived. For billing, they have different systems but they take my credit card number and bill me about a month later, so this can be a little scary, since you never know how much it will be, nor is there any way of knowing how they come up with the price. It's like a surprise party on my credit card bill (If you like those, this is DEFINITELY the car service for you). I guess I don't mind since I'm usually on my company's dime and I kinda like using a service and paying a month later. The drivers are usually nice and in addition to late model Town Cars, sometimes you get hooked up with a cool S-Class or a big Lexus. High rollin' One scary story though, there's one lady who drives a small Lexus late night with a large crucifix hanging from her rear view. Watch out!! I've had her a couple times. She spends the whole ride looking at the Nav System instead of the road (and not doing a good job with that). Let's just say that five minutes into my first ride with her, I found religion myself as I soon realized that if she needed both God and Jesus' help in driving me safely, I obviously needed their help in getting home alive as well. About 3 times I was thiiiisss close to asking her to switch places. All in all, I've had my fair share of frustrations with them, but since I have yet to hear of anyone better, they'll probably be my car service for many more jours to come. 5/16: Quick Update - They're no longer my car service du jour and I have to drop them a star. On my last trip to the airport my flight got delayed so they charged me for wait time, which is total BS since they should have known my flight would be delayed seeing as though they had my flight number. When I told the driver I wouldn't sign for the wait time (though I feel bad his time was wasted at the airport), they went ahead and charged me anyway. I called them back four times to talk to someone about reversing they charge and they even called me back once, but to no avail. Yeah, I know it was for work, but you try putting a $120 expense in for a car service from Kennedy with a straight face and expect some job security. Yeah, almost as much as the flight! So, long story short I had to promise my boss not to use them again and I'm contesting the part of my charge for the wait with my credit card company (which I'm positive I'll win since I never signed for it). Not saying you shouldn't go with these guys as you can see from above I've usually liked them but if you get delayed coming in on a flight, consider yourself warned. read more

I've been dealing with arrow for a little over 3 months. I've always had an issue with this one manager, thankfully the last time I called I learned he's gone and they have a new guy in place. I expressed the small problems I've had with drivers or wait times and was reassured things have changed. On my last cab I had them pick me up for a JFK departure and they did a great job. Got me there on time and had no complaints. I had another pick up a week later on my return flight into JFK. The driver showed up at the exact time I walked out the door, cutting it a bit close but not technically any delay for me. The only reason I'm even posting this is because the new manager Dan called to follow up about the rides and thank me for my business. He told me he's aware of the mess the old manager left him and he's trying to turn things around. read more

DO NOT USE THEM!!!! They will over charge you!!! I had paid the extra $16 to have the driver meet us in the airport thinking jfk would be crazy busy but from where we met our driver we walked 200 feet to where he parked the car! if i knew it was that close i would have saved the $16. Also I had used a yelp voucher and the driver had no idea what I was talking about! He had to call his work to find out what was going on making me wait longer to figure things out. Then on the way back to the airport few days later I had asked the same driver to stop so I could buy some bagels for the trip home. He did, but informed me later after we had stopped that the stop would cost me $20 and more for the wait!!! In the long run just grab a taxi! It will save you lots of money and frustration. The online booking process was seamless, the driver arrived 15 minutes early and patiently waited for me, the car was immaculately clean and smoke-free, and the driver was warm, friendly, and drove safely. A far better experience in every way than Carmel Limo or Dial 7, and for the same price (cheaper, actually, with the Yelp voucher I purchased). I'm a convert! Stay away from these guys. They do not know how to run a business. They have left me stranded on 2 separate occasions after I have received a confirmation that my driver will show up. The first time was at LGA --- they said they called me and left me a voice mail to let me know that my driver was not going to be able to make it --- i'm not sure who or where they called, but it wasn't me. They blamed the weather for their screw up---- so I decided to use give them a 2nd chance. I went through the on-line booking process and then got a confirmation e-mail. Sometime later that night, I got a calling tell me that they could not guarantee that the driver would show up---- There are many other good car companies in NYC and they all have similar rates. Avoid Arrow, unless you are OK with poor customer service, an on-line system that sends confirmations automatically, and unreliable service. read more

Negative 5 stars actually. I've used this service 4 times only because my company chooses the service for me. I've never had a pleasant experience (they're drivers are sloppy and not professional) but today was ridiculous. They were 30 mins late to pick me up to JFK. If you are taking someone to the airport and arrive 30 mins late, what do you think is going to happen? They are going to MISS THE FLIGHT. Which I did. I had a wedding to attend so I had to book another flight. I called back the dispatch to tell them what the situation was. I told them that they will be getting a bill from me to reimburse me for the extra flight I had to pay for. After I hung up the phone, the driver began yelling at me, the entire ride to the airport, about how he's not at fault, I should not be saying he should pay for my flight when he has nothing to do with the company, on and on - just being completely belligerent and totally scary. Since my life was in his hands at that point I stopped talking. When we arrived at the airport he threw my bags out of the trunk and took off. This company should not be in business. read more

Though my drivers were pleasant, I am still dealing with a dispute on a trip charge so whomever runs operations is not competent. I called a few times and even emailed regarding a $30 surcharge on my trip. I had a confirmation of the total amount as I also have a company discount with them and even an acknowledgement email from Dan C. in operations stating they made an error and reverse the charge but it is now two weeks and I advised them I will be bringing this up with my credit card company. It dawned on me that the driver told me he'd been up all night, so I'm thinking that after he dropped me off, he took a nap, and tried to cover that time with a supposed 2-hour "wait" charge. Only giving them 1 star, because I had to. THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY AND FORGET ABOUT EVER GETTING A REFUND WHEN THEY MAKE A MISTAKE I got a groupon for a car service to JFK. The Booking was understandable I followed all the steps on their site as well as what Groupon said to do. I even called TWICE to confirm my car and to make sure they knew I already paid online for the pick up. They assured me that they did. BUT when i got dropped off at the airport the driver told me to I had to pay there. I explained to him how I already paid online and went through the details, so he called the office, and I explained again. And the guy who answered the phone was adamant that I was wrong. As I was getting laid for my flight, the driver just told me to pay and call with the reciept and they would refund me. BIGGEST MISTAKE I MADE. I took this trip in februay, it is May now and I have yet to get my refund. I have called multiple times a week and literally no one has given me an answer. There is One person who deals with the refunds and shes never there, they always say she will get back to me and no one does. I even spoke with a "manager" and he was No help what so ever. THIS WAS ONE OF THE WORST WAITING GAMES EVER. I finally reached out to Groupon..hopefully they can help. But I want these guys to learn a lesson. This is NOT OK. Dont make a mistake on your end and then not try to correct it whatsoever. I get it people and businesses make mistakes, but when you do, do something about it to fix it. UGH! read more

I have used Arrow for my personal use for two years and I have been very happy with the service. They always call me in advance whenever they are expecting delays and keep me updated on any delays for my flights. The people who pick up have a friendly demeanor, which is hard to find in a lot of these car companies. There customer service department is always on top of any incidents and call you the following day ,which shows that they care. I have always been able to speak to the manager and am always given a resolution to any concerns I might have. I have used other companies and they just see dollar signs and move on to the next person, but the people there know your name if you are a frequent user and treat you like a person. Let me say, I was extremely disappointed in this car service. I requested a pick up from LaGuardia Airport and located my driver at the baggage claim. After I told him I had two large pieces of luggage, he had no intention of helping me with my bags, I had to ask him for help twice before he actually listened. Once we got the bags, he became agitated because I was organizing my things and didn't pick up my purse quickly enough, barking for me to give it to him. He decided to park at the very end of the lot, and again, rudely barked at me to hold his sign while he loaded the bags into the trunk. We got into the car (he did not offer to open the door), I asked if he knew where we were going and he responded "hopefully"... I don't mean to be a pain but if you are picking up one person at a time at the airport, one would think the driver would look up the address and directions beforehand, sadly he did not and we both sat in the car while he looked through his cell phone to find my address. When driving out of the parking lot, he became verbally aggressive towards another man who was waiting for a car to back out of a space - we couldn't get by so he started beeping at him, then he put his window down and started yelling obscenities at the driver. When the car moved out of the way, my driver continued to yell obscenities out his window which I feel was completely inappropriate and made me extremely uncomfortable. When we finally started driving, he refused to put his seat belt on even though the car alert kept beeping every minute, claiming it would stop eventually. He asked if I wanted to fill out the voucher, I asked him if he needed me to fill out the whole voucher to which he replied "if you want to"?!?! I didn't really know what that meant so I filled out the basic details, signed it, and gave it back to him but then he started filling out the rest (pen in hand, paper on his lap, cell phone in his other hand looking a text) while he was driving!!!!!!! We finally got to my apartment building, and I ask him what the price is (since the price list on the buildinglink website didn't include tolls, tax, etc.) and he told me he didn't know!!! I asked him how I was supposed to pay him if he didn't know the price, he said he thought it might be $40 or $43 or $45. I asked him who would know the price, he told me the book keepers knew but sometimes they lie and give the wrong price. I was shocked!!! He said I could call and ask if I wanted to but I really just wanted to get home and away from this guy. He then "helped" me bring the bags in, and by "help" I mean he took one bag and slammed the door in my face while I rolled the second one. The service is horrible, absolutely not worth it, you'd get better quality taking a cab. I will never use this car service again, it really was not worth the money. read more
