Grilled New York Steak In a Pepper Béarnaise Sauce, Mushrooms Sauce. Steak was excellent--I forwarded my compliments to the chef!

The Arrowhead Restaurant and Lounge is located in the lobby entrance of the Crowne Plaza hotel in Southbury. There is a casual seating area with TVs and bar in the Lounge and the Restaurant has separate seating next door in a semi-formal arrangement. We arrived late around 8:50pm or so on a Wednesday. The food was great, although a little bit pricey, and the service was excellent. I ordered the New York Steak, which was nicely presented and tasted great. I was very pleased and commended the chef on it. The other members of my party enjoyed the Bison Burger and Chicken Marsala. We also ordered the Fried Calamari as an appetizer, which was good and was accompanied by a large helping of tomato sauce. The complimentary bread rolls were great and freshly warmed. The rolls come with a varied assortment of jams, butter, and spiced olive oils. Regarding the service, the hostess and waiter did a spectacular job. Definitely, a nod of approval towards Jeremy, our waiter, who did a wonderful job of being attentive, available, helpful, and knowledgeable. He was very familiar with the menu and seemed immensely involved in the entire restaurant. He mentioned that he added the roasted garlic, dried peppers and basil, and other spices used in the spiced olive oils! In addition, due to our late dining arrival, Jeremy stayed late since we did not complete our dining experience until 10:20pm! Props to him for never complaining and also being such as joy during our entire time. Plus, after attempting to surprise my party members for their wedding anniversary, Jeremy surprised us all with a complimentary strawberry-topped cheesecake that was quite delectable. It really made the night for us. The place is nicely decorated. My biggest gripe with the whole dining experience was that the tables were a black plastic and were not covered by a tablecloth, so it slightly diminishes the fancy and upscale appeal, but the rest of the restaurant is nicely decorated and well-maintained. I can understand that this might be for practicality reasons and therefore, don't really hold it against the restaurant. Overall, the Arrowhead Restaurant was a pleasure to patron and we all had a fine dining experience. Again, props to Jeremy for being such an excellent waiter and making the outing so enjoyable.

Stopped at this hotel overnight and decided to try out the lounge for dinner vs the restaurant. Both places seemed to have the same menu and the lounge seemed to be where people were going. Our waitress/bartender came over to take our drink orders. Very nice Cosmo and dirty martini. Considering she was, at that time, the only server/bartender on, our drinks arrived promptly and we were able to order our dinners. We ordered the turkey club and a cheeseburger. I'm always a little nervous about how I order the burger to be cooked, but this 1 came out perfect and was so good. I had ordered fries with my burger and husband ordered salad which was very fresh and good. It was very busy in the lounge and another staff member came in to help for a short amount of time. The food was very good as were the beverages. Service was good too! If in the area, we will return.

The owners are so down to earth and know how to make a high quality drink!…read more The first time I came here was when they were pretty new and it's been busy ever since. They had a little booklet menu of at least a dozen espresso martini variations with high quality liquor and specialty liqueurs from multiple countries. If you're not a drinker and want a coffee in the morning, to catch up on work or meet some friends, this is still a cute place. They serve espresso drinks all day.

From my understanding, it is a Christmas "pop-up" called Miracle. Since we just showed up without reservations, we sat at the bar, which was totally fine with us. The bartenders were very nice and offered up some recommendations. It turned out, my friend had gone to a Miracle pop-up at another bar weeks before, but hadn't realized it. The space is cozy and was very nicely decorated. I ordered an espresso martini off of their regular menu and my friend ordered the Candy Cane Lane. We didn't order food since we had dinner plans after. Our bill was $37.00, plus the $6 we left for a tip. For two cocktails that were good, but not fantastic, that is a little steep in my opinion. If we each had a second cocktail, it would have been close to $100. It's a bar in Newtown, not the casino. Would I go back? I would, just not during the holidays, and maybe a special occasion.

Woodbury Brewing Company is a craft brewpub that opened in Woodbury, Connecticut in December 2017…read more It was founded by friends and business partners Allan Cetrone, Tim Budrewicz, T.J. D'Alexander and Ken Mair. After he found his previous employer's ethical standards unconscionable, Cetrone decided to quit and find a new line of work. He and his friends frequently got together at a backyard barn man-cave which was complete with a fridge and kegerator. Cetrone had also been experimenting with his own homebrewed beers. Once their man cave became a popular spot for family gatherings, the four friends decided to open their own brewery. The taproom has a rustic saloon aesthetic (a nod to the friends' backyard barn man-cave) complete with a stage for live musical acts to perform. In addition to the housemade beer, WBC also serves wine, cider, craft cocktails, and a large menu of delicious food from their in-house kitchen. I recently visited Woodbury Brewing Company for the first time. I had heard that they host a lot of live music acts and I purchased a ticket to see Hudson Valley-based Rush tribute band "Limelight". I'm a HUGE Rush fan, so I was really excited to see the group perform. I arrived over an hour before the show started. I had a reserved table right by the stage. There was a modest crowd when I first arrived, but the whole taproom was packed by the time the show started. After looking over the menu, I decided to order the "Nashville Hot GIANT Chicken Sandwich" (hot honey, cajun spice, pickles, mayo) with "Sweet Potato Fries" as well as an order of "Cheese Curds" (served w/ house-made marinara). I was totally shocked when the food finally came to the table. When they say "giant chicken sandwiches", they mean GIANT! I could barely fit the sandwich into my mouth, but it was so delicious! The sweet potato fries were equally big and delicious, and the cheese curds were really good too! Throughout my visit, I enjoyed pours of "Yummy Beers" (Double New England IPA), "Collusion" (New England IPA), and "Barrel-Aged Don't Go Romanov" (Barrel-Aged Russian Imperial Stout). They were all surprisingly good! Limelight also gave an excellent performance to the very energetic crowd. Overall, I had quite an enjoyable evening and I'll definitely be back! I already have a ticket to another show!

There were a lot of staff for hardly any people but I'm assuming they were getting ready for a rush to come later. The ambiance is nice, it's decorated well and gives a bit of a speakeasy vibe. We got mocktails and two apps. The sliders and the French onion chicken nachos which were on the specials menu. Our drinks were good, they made me one special as I wasn't a fan of some of the ingredients in the mocktail options! My drink was well made and was really good! Service was decent but our waiter was hovering a lot. The food was nothing special. We liked the sliders but they were a little bland. They were still juicy and not overcooked and the sauce on them wasn't bad. Overall not much flavor. The chips for the nachos were overcooked and fried in what tasted like old oil as there was a burnt aftertaste. The chicken was just dry shredded chicken with virtually no seasoning. I understand why the Gruyère was used as the cheese, as that's what used in French onion soup, but Gruyère is not a good melting cheese. It was congealed/it broke and was in globs and we needed a fork and knife to cut through it. The only onions on the dish were crispy fried onions and scallions which didn't add the French onion flavor you'd expect. All in all after our experience we had this is not a place we'd return to.
