    Deep Fried Cod Burrito

I haven't been here in probably 8 years, no real reason why, just never think of it. We were looking for a last minute place for Mothers Day and they were very accommodating. My food was fine enough but everyone else really enjoyed theirs. Definitely won't be another 8 years before we come back again.

    Cuban Sandwich with potato salad

Im always hoping at some point half stars will be added to the review system. We started out with fried calamari with gorgonzola and peppers. I wish I would have taken a picture. Rathskellar's had some big rings! I prefer my calamari just to be a little crispier. However, the sauce with the calamari was good. My husband and I both had items for our personal taste that we did not like about our food. So Ill go there next and then end on the positives. My husband got a salad before his meal the lettuce was nice and fresh with homemade croutons. However, the cesear salad dressing tasted more like Miracle Whip then Cesar dressing. I did not like my potato salad as it also had a strong Miracle Whip like taste and for my personal taste I just dont like items that taste like Miracle Whip. Finally onto our dinners my husband had risotto with cajun shrimp. Risotto was cooked nicely and not overdone. The cajun shrimp gave the meal a nice kick. My dinner was the cuban sandwich the bread was a nice baguette with a good crisp. The swiss cheese was nice and melty. This sandwich had a nice amount of ham and pulled pork. The pickles and mustard brought the extra flavor. Even though our meal was not a total hit this particular time we like Rathskellar's and will be back.

    Mac & Cheese

We visited here tonight for dinner because we had never been and always wondered what it was like. As soon as we sat down, we noticed the odd decor and thought it was very dingy. I ordered the Mac and cheese, while my parents ordered a Philly cheesesteak and a corned beef Reuben. I knew as soon as I saw the Mac and cheese that it wasn't going to be great, and it proved to be pretty flavorless. As cheesy as the texture was, the flavor of it was barely there, and all I really tasted was butter. The sandwiches were fine, but we all agreed that everything was extremely average. Our waiter was also not very attentive or friendly, but the bill was definitely affordable for 3 people.

Food price / quality (value) rating 9. The atmosphere is a basement pub. A little tricky to find, but worth looking for. They offer a large bar surrounded by several high-tops, a friendly local crowd, Nascar and football. This was our first visit to this restaurant. This is a great place to come for some drinks and a sandwich. A limited, but well chosen draught list is available. We had the pleasure of being served by "Kate" at the bar, who appeared to effortlessly serve a full bar and all diners in the restaurant, without missing a step. I had the Cuban sandwich with potato salad. They had no problem substituting a ciabotta roll for a baguette. The sandwich was prepared nicely, served hot, and the meats were fresh and tender, and was reasonably priced. The potato salad was German style. The wife had a garden salad, which consisted of high quality greens and your typical raw veggies, and was also very reasonably priced. I had two IPA's and the wife had two Pinots, and the bill was under $50. Unusual in today's market. I would certainly recommend this restaurant.

Consistently good food. Service is good too! It's a bar restaurant so it feels like a basement.

There were a lot of staff for hardly any people but I'm assuming they were getting ready for a rush to come later. The ambiance is nice, it's decorated well and gives a bit of a speakeasy vibe. We got mocktails and two apps. The sliders and the French onion chicken nachos which were on the specials menu. Our drinks were good, they made me one special as I wasn't a fan of some of the ingredients in the mocktail options! My drink was well made and was really good! Service was decent but our waiter was hovering a lot. The food was nothing special. We liked the sliders but they were a little bland. They were still juicy and not overcooked and the sauce on them wasn't bad. Overall not much flavor. The chips for the nachos were overcooked and fried in what tasted like old oil as there was a burnt aftertaste. The chicken was just dry shredded chicken with virtually no seasoning. I understand why the Gruyère was used as the cheese, as that's what used in French onion soup, but Gruyère is not a good melting cheese. It was congealed/it broke and was in globs and we needed a fork and knife to cut through it. The only onions on the dish were crispy fried onions and scallions which didn't add the French onion flavor you'd expect. All in all after our experience we had this is not a place we'd return to.

The food was very good, priced right, and proper portions. We shared the mild buffalo wings, extra crispy. The sauce was good and wings cooked well. The bleu cheese dip did not seem to be homemade but it did the job. My wife had a French onion soup which was very good, and the tots-chos. The tots were crispy and smothered in what we believe was a homemade cheese sauce, olives, jalapeños, pickled red onions, and fire roasted corn. It came with salsa, which in our opinion wasn't really needed. Sour cream may have been better but they were fine as is. I had the Tex-mex wrap with fire roasted corn which came with sidewinder fries. Everything was well seasoned and we brought home plenty of leftovers. The beer list was smaller but had a good selection of local crafts and some more well known brands. Our server, Jules, was very nice, attentive, and made good recommendations. Overall, would definitely come back for a low key dinner or to watch the game.

Woodbury Brewing Company is a craft brewpub that opened in Woodbury, Connecticut in December 2017…read more It was founded by friends and business partners Allan Cetrone, Tim Budrewicz, T.J. D'Alexander and Ken Mair. After he found his previous employer's ethical standards unconscionable, Cetrone decided to quit and find a new line of work. He and his friends frequently got together at a backyard barn man-cave which was complete with a fridge and kegerator. Cetrone had also been experimenting with his own homebrewed beers. Once their man cave became a popular spot for family gatherings, the four friends decided to open their own brewery. The taproom has a rustic saloon aesthetic (a nod to the friends' backyard barn man-cave) complete with a stage for live musical acts to perform. In addition to the housemade beer, WBC also serves wine, cider, craft cocktails, and a large menu of delicious food from their in-house kitchen. I recently visited Woodbury Brewing Company for the first time. I had heard that they host a lot of live music acts and I purchased a ticket to see Hudson Valley-based Rush tribute band "Limelight". I'm a HUGE Rush fan, so I was really excited to see the group perform. I arrived over an hour before the show started. I had a reserved table right by the stage. There was a modest crowd when I first arrived, but the whole taproom was packed by the time the show started. After looking over the menu, I decided to order the "Nashville Hot GIANT Chicken Sandwich" (hot honey, cajun spice, pickles, mayo) with "Sweet Potato Fries" as well as an order of "Cheese Curds" (served w/ house-made marinara). I was totally shocked when the food finally came to the table. When they say "giant chicken sandwiches", they mean GIANT! I could barely fit the sandwich into my mouth, but it was so delicious! The sweet potato fries were equally big and delicious, and the cheese curds were really good too! Throughout my visit, I enjoyed pours of "Yummy Beers" (Double New England IPA), "Collusion" (New England IPA), and "Barrel-Aged Don't Go Romanov" (Barrel-Aged Russian Imperial Stout). They were all surprisingly good! Limelight also gave an excellent performance to the very energetic crowd. Overall, I had quite an enjoyable evening and I'll definitely be back! I already have a ticket to another show!

Between the crackling fireplace, plush lounge seating, warm wood accents, sleek bar, and navy banquettes, the atmosphere feels both inviting and refined. The bartenders and entire staff were warm, polished, and genuinely attentive, creating an experience centered around the guest. My martini was aggressively shaken and served in a short coupe, topped with a delicate layer of ice crystals; despite the chill, the vodka-to-vermouth ratio was perfectly balanced. It was garnished with stellar Castelvetrano olives, freshly opened and proudly presented as an elevated touch to the classic cocktail. As for the fare, it was hands down one of the best meals I've enjoyed in quite some time. The Wagyu coulotte was cooked to perfection, accompanied by expertly prepared oyster mushrooms and crisp shoestring tallow fries.
