As other reviews have already said, this place is great. I've used a variety of self storage facilities, and visited a few others around Pasadena. This place is clean, regularly maintained, well-lit, and comfortable (to the extent that any storage place could ever be comfortable) to work in. They provide plenty of carts, the loading dock provides easy access to the storage units and the elevators, and the hallways are very straight-forward. We have moved several truckloads of goods on pallets in and out of this place, and it has always worked out well for us. The staff is great, and they have a reasonable policy on transferring credit from closed units -- that was very important for us as our space needs ballooned and shrank with our business activities. We have mostly moved out of there, as we now have our own warehouse for our business (which affords us 24-hour access and use of electricity -- the two things we couldn't get at APSS that we really wanted). We still have a small personal storage space there. About the only thing I would have to complain about with the facility is that parking spots can be hard to find on a really busy day (mostly end-of-month-moving weekends) and the two loading dock sometimes gets filled up and you have to to wait your turn. read more

Chose this place because of the good reviews and had no issues. All of the employees I dealt with were very friendly. I had a 7x10 for my one bedroom apartment for $85 for the first two months (half of special) looks really clean and thank god for the climate control (it was over 100 degrees for 2+ weeks) I had no experience with storage units and definitely recommend! The only small thing is if they were open a little later that would be awesome. It never seemed too crazy busy and there were always moving carts available. read more

My bother-in-law had furniture stored here for about 7 years. When he moved out, we discovered damage to his grand piano. Piano was stored with the legs removed, long side laid on blankets, and the case leaned against a wall. When we moved it we found a dead rat nesting in the blankets between the piano and the wall. We tossed the feces/urine laden blankets and rat carcass in the trash and notified the staffer. In retrospect we were naive not to photograph and document evidence. In the end, management claimed damage was due to a small can of solvent he'd stored in violation of his rental agreement. They were just bullies. read more

This place is awesome. Before deciding on Arroyo Parkway Self Storage, I looked at most of the self storage facilities in Pasadena and surrounds. Nothing compared to these guys. Safe, clean, and really secure with very helpful, very friendly staff. I was worried about renting a unit on a non-air conditioned floor, but the old solid concrete building remains cool year-round. Another plus is that it's close to Whole Foods if you need a lunch break!! PROS: Safe, clean, wide hallways, plenty of big wooden carts to move stuff from your car to unit, secure parking, friendly staff, near Whole Foods, real loading dock for larger moving trucks to unload, sometimes they have discounts on first three months' rental CONS: Evening access hours limited - only open until 7p Mon - Sat and and until 4:30p on Sunday. I've just learned to work around that. Overall, I highly recommend Arroyo Parkway Self Storage. Now if I can just get rid of the stuff I have stored there, I'd be in good shape... read more

I was moving to a smaller house and needed a place to store all the extra stuff that wouldn't fit. I looked around a few places but most of them looked dirty and didn't make me feel safe until I found this storage. It was clean and well lit and I could even have a climate controlled unit if I wanted. The manager, I think her name was Rema, was very nice and answered all my questions patiently. Arroyo Parkway Self Storage is everything that you could hope for (other than free!). They are professional, clean, neat, organized and helpful. They have a huge variety of sizes of storage rooms, which are all well lit, clean and dry. I came to this place after a year at the scariest, ghetto-ist Self Storage--a place where I personally witnessed drunk homeless people fighting in the hallways. So this place is an oasis: clean, bright, pleasant. The staff is awesome and everything is well-run and civilized. I sincerely approve of Arroyo Parkway Self Storage and I would recommend to friends! The staff is extremely professional and helpful; I feel safe in the structure and the location of the structure, I loved the 1/2 price discount for the first month of storage, there isn't a long wait for the elevators, there are plenty and ample in size dollies to transport your items, there is lots of parking space, a free truck and truck driver to help with the initial storage, the bathroom is clean and large and I like the access system which monitors my coming and going. I've never used a storage facility before and was concerned about security, both for my belongings and for me, as they all seem so dirty and creepy. After doing some research into prices I had to actually go shopping. Arroyo was my first stop, after talking with Rima, I thought I'd go check out some other ones just to see what's available. But, after walking just half a block I thought to myself, no other manager is going to be more pleasant, professional, thorough in their presentation and explanation, no other place is going to be this clean (even the restrooms are spotless!), and the price is right. So, there was no need to do any more shopping. Arroyo is the one. I moved my stuff in a couple of months ago and am pleased with my choice. The staff is helpful and pleasant. I have used this facility for almost 3 years (I only left because I was moving to the Westside), and was very pleased. It is secure, clean (especially the restroom -- thanks!), and the staff is friendly and helpful. My only complaint was that the lights are motion-activated, and the sensors do not detect your motion if you are in the interior of your personal storage unit for longer than a minute or so, and will shut off, and then you have to go out into the aisle and flap your arms or something. However, this is only a minor complaint, and I would very much recommend this facility to anyyone. read more
