Monthly cost for 5x5 : $230ish with a "district manager approved discount" for a long term customer (2019). My long term loyalty was only worth a $20 a month reduction. They wouldn't even price match the web rate of $117 (see picture) or prorate my move out. So, went with A1 storage for a 5x5 $159 including insurance. Set price for 3 months and gradual increase of 10% at 3 months then 10 months. Still way better price at A1. Was truly disappointed so I'm leaving and saving myself $100 month. read more

Went in today to inquire about a storage unit. I'm moving out soon so I have to look for a local storage unit. I was quickly greeted by a team member name Jackie and Milton. They were both really knowledgeable on rates and availability. I have a lot personal item that's are really expensive. After speaking with both of these team members I felt more secure with my personal item being left at an establishment like this facility. We'll most definitely sign up in the beginning of next month for their services. More places should train their employees like these two were. This place is beyond shady-- they raise everybody's rent up automatically after 4- months $100!! So mine went from $220 to $320!!! Then if you are even one day late they charge you a $43 late fee!!! The front desk people are very nice and very courteous but the owners of this place are beyond greedy and unscrupulous in their strategic money grab. They advertised a 5' x 5' space. Upon arrival the unit measured 3.5' x 4'. I was told they use approximations which can vary by FEET. Their business model is bait and switch. Don't blame the employees, they are just working for a wage. The owners know how to run a scam. read more

Price 3.5 stars Service 4.6 stars Space 4.4 stars Located not too far from Costco and has 4 parking spots for customers. It is gated with special code assigned to each customer. The storage is available from 6 am -10 pm. You could easily drive in with your car inside the area of storage. From the office to the storage area , they are clean and they maintain it pretty good. Becky was helping me patiently to set up the account , teaching me how to enter the code and showed me the storage. I was lucky that I got the online price which was half of the regular price for 5x5. The membership is month to month and we just need to give 10 days notice before the due date of membership if we want to terminate the account. Even though the price is not cheap for 5x5 but for the quality service that we get, I think it's worth it . Thanks Becky for professional customer service that you have showed me. I was supposed to move into an apartment, but due to a pest control issue, I had to find a storage unit instead. The first unit I found was large enough, however the lift could not accommodate my queen mattress or TV strand. In a panic, I contacted the original storage facility and they found a unit for me. I was not only moving my things from one unit to the other, but I had to return my uhaul trailer on time AND graduate from college all in the same day. Michael, thank you soooooooo much for taking the time to find a unit that was easy to access and large enough to hold all my things. You were so kind and understanding and helped my sister and I more than you know. I appreciate your professionalism, kindness, and accommodations. Our rate was about $140 for a small space. In less than a year it went up to $200. We've talked to the manager there and he ended up lowering it down to $176 and said he wouldn't raise it for another 5 months. Yet the next month after they just lowered it it was back up to $200! That's 30 days later!!! And they can keep raising it because you're stuck with needing a place to store your belongings. This is extremely sad and unfortunate. If anyone knows of a storage facility that doesn't raise its prices on you multiple times within a year can you please post and let others know. I would love to know. Thank you! UPDATE!!! I just checked my and they RAISED it AGAIN!!!! $20 up from the last month!!!!!!! This is unacceptable!!! UPDATE: Moved all of my things out of there! He walked me thru the whole process from answering all my questions to staying on the phone while I electronically initialed and signed all the different areas on the contract. This is my 2nd storage unit, this one is closer to my home. I needed another Unit and because I was so pleased with Covina Extra Space Storage, I became a return customer. This used to be privately owned by All Aboard, until purchased by Extra Space Storage in 2013. This facility is large, clean and beautifully renovated. Also very centrally located in the heart of Alhambra, and close to the 10 freeway. Unfortunately as soon as Extra Space Storage took over, so did the steady rent raise. Until one day, the rent just got ridiculously high, and unaffordable. What a shame, as I loved this place. Extra Space Storage is a very large, publically owned, nationwide company. And it seems maximizing profit is the number one goal for their share holders. I could feel the corporate greed breathing through those storage walls. If you are looking for temporary storage solution, go for it and sign a lease. Just be aware of your upcoming rent spike. I will not do business with Extra Space Storage again... read more

I feel like the management is playing with me. I was looking for storage and I found this ad online that read "1st month free & 20% off regulare rates" when I walked in the guy helping me tells me that it doesn't apply for his store. By the add said "Alhambra 1st month free and 20%off" ... how can it not apply !!!' It's says ALHAMBRA on it. After speaking to Jacky she tells me that "no" it's either or ( month free or % off) but the ad says both!!! She than tells me to screenshot the ads because she can't find them . So I do that and she "forwards" them to her district manager. Which never called me back!!!! It is a lie that 1st month is free, false advertisement and obviously against the law!!!!! Don't do this to people... your Ramon they rates are great but don't promise 1st month free is it not going to happen. I will keep digging and find out who I need to go to in order to get this resolved !!! read more

AVOID AT ALL COST!!! My family had been happily renting from All Aboard Storage for nearly 30 years, but when Extra Space took over it turned into a complete disaster! First, I moved from a small unit to a larger one, but shortly after they had me move again because they needed to repair my unit. Ok fine, no big deal, they told me they would have movers come and move everything for me. I took a day off work to coordinate the move, since I was assured it should only take a few hours, and it turned out to only be ONE mover with a dolly, so the unit change took ALL DAY. I was also freshly out of back surgery and ended up having to help the mover because it was taking too long and a lot of the items required 2 people. I was FURIOUS that they didn't send more people to help and that I had to lift things even while being in a back support brace. That was 2-3 years ago, and I was paying a fairly reasonable amount, now they've hiked up my rent every couple months to now almost DOUBLE what I was originally paying. In the last 4 months alone, it's gone from $405 to $421 to $445 then back to $421 after I raised hell about all the price changes, and just this morning they charged me $436!! Just because they have my credit card information doesn't mean they can charge me whatever the hell they want! I've priced similar sized units at other storage facilities and they are charging HALF what I'm being charged. If you love throwing away money to a snake in the grass company who doesn't value their customers one bit, then by all means go ahead and use their services. If you don't appreciate being dicked around and being charged unfairly, go elsewhere for your storage needs! You'll thank me, trust me. UPDATE: I've since moved to A1 Storage and am being charged a third of what this place was charging me. So much happier now! read more

The prices were a bit more competitive at Extra Space, but what immediately sold me was the wonderfully professional and very nice manager Jackie. Such great customer service! Like any storage place, it's all nice and dandy when you start and you get maybe a month free and all these perks and then you move in and slowly (month by month) you get these postcards that say your monthly rate is increasing and slowly the price is doubled from when you initially started. So yea, smart business model since people are going to end up not wanting to move their stuff but that's just shady. I mean, don't take advantage of people like that. Overall though, the place is fine. It's a storage spot that you can access on your own when you need to with your own code and lock. If you really need to store stuff here, go ahead but really think about whether that stuff is important or if you can throw it out. Another option is looking for someone else to sign up for a closeby box and only need to move the items across and take advantage of the new customer perks if you are willing to spend a day moving things between the two. read more

I was excited for my first storage unit experience... everyone at Extra Space Storage was super helpful and made the process seamless. Wendy esp. was such a delight to deal with. Two weeks into my whole life being inside of this storage unit it was broken into. Items were stolen, broken and stomped on left and right. I now out of pocket have to worry about replacing so many of my items even with the insurance I had to cover my storage unit. The inconvenience of the whole situation was awful and Extra Space Storage did not even offer to help at all, not with a discounted month or additional free month for the inconvenience. I at this point would never recommend this company due to the fact that they don't care about their customers. Again I am excluding Wendy from this as she was the only one who did care and was very responsive with everything going on. I do fear for her as she lives on the property and they have now been broken into twice in the last month and a half. They won't install more cameras or hire a security guard for the property therefore putting EVERYONEs belongings at risk and more importantly Wendy's life at risk. The security at this storage unit is AWFUL, the worst I've seen and my biggest regret was storing my belongings there. My only hope for this place moving forward is that they protect their employees and learn the value of customer service in the higher positions. read more

We've used Extra Space Storage before but I'm afraid I cannot recommend them anymore. We signed up for a unit, but after only 4 months our rates jumped up $50. That's a 43% increase!! 43% rate increases after only 4 months doesn't just feel unfair - it seems like a scam. They advertise at one rate, get you to sign-up, but then jack up the prices. I'm not against the idea of rate increases. I understand that prices need to gradually go up. But radical jumps like this are an unacceptable way to do business. I'm working on getting them to lower this but so far no one can get their corporate bosses to lower it. If they do, I'll gladly remain a customer of Extra Space. If not, we'll never do business with them again because their rates are meaningless. ++ Update, after several weeks of phone calls they finally got their corporate higher-ups to lower the increase to $40. That however is still unsatisfactory - a 35% rent increase after 4 months. Buyer beware - if you sign with Extraspace, your rates could go up dramatically. I don't know if any other companies have better policies on this, but I'd do your homework first. read more

I WOULD NOT RECOMEND ALHAMBRA EXTRA SPACE STORAGE TO MY WORST ENEMY!!! I was renting a unit here for close to 4 years. I just recently moved out do to the constant harrasment from the Property Manager Wendy. Everything was fine for the first three years I was there. Felicia whom was the Property Manager at the time was the best. Her costomer service was by far excelent. Now that this site has now a new Property Manager (Wendy) it's been awefuly uncomfortable do to her constant harrasment. Every little thing bugged her especially when it came to my husband whom was the one who I gave access do to his working tools being stored there. If you really want to enjoy your storage experience I would recomend you go to Public Storage whom are across the street from Extra Space or US Storage off of Fremont, the people there are awesome. read more
