Wish I could leave less than one star. I have been a customer for over 10 years and I purchased my furnace and AC from them. I am also a home service plan member. Customer service means NOTHING to them. Keeping you as a customer means NOTHING to them. They came to do the annual cleaning and tune up on my furnace and told me I needed a new UV bulb for my furnace. They quoted me $490 and said that was including my 25% off for being a member. I pulled up the bulb on Amazon, using the exact make and model as the one they wanted to sell me. It was $117. I asked the tech if it was the same one and he confirmed. He couldn't explain why he was charging me four times more. I called to cancel my membership and they continued to charge me for the next two months. When I called again to request to be reimbursed, Veronica, the supervisor said she couldn't reimburse me because she found where I owed $18 from 7 years ago. I don't trust them. We just bought our house and called them first because the furnace upstairs wouldn't work. They came out, told us our heat exchanger was cracked, it had rust, and the heater was 15+ years old. They could not get the furnace to work. They recommended we replace the furnace. We called the home warranty company about it and they sent out a different company. 25 min. and $60 later, we have heat. Our furnace was manufactured in 2006 (the repairman showed me the sticker), has no rust, and no evidence of a cracked heat exchanger. read more

They charge outrageous prices ($350 for a main line cleanout?) and they don't show up when they say they will. We've owned this old house for 16 years and deal with this annually, we repaired the bad spot in the line and still get problems, the fix this company did lasted 6 months. We thought we would have a warranty at least, but they didn't bother showing up. Maybe they didn't want to do it for free? I have lived in this house for 28 years. When I moved in there was a sticker on my drain pipe in the basement from before I moved in from "Snake 'n' Rooter". I figured I should call THEM when my sewer drain backed up. Snake 'n' Rooter quickly and efficiently snaked my drain. One year later it again backed up. AGAIN I called Snake 'n' Rooter who again snaked my drain and solved the problem. I have had NO further trouble until recently. [THIS explains Troy's question of "Why did you call US, if you 'didn't have a problem'?] An initial attempt to snake my drain was unsuccessful. This cost me $345. The next day TWO techs came out to assess my problem. I was told on the first visit that my drain pipe from the bathroom to the basement floor would have to be replaced since there was NO ACCESS to the pipe....I cleared the area and found that there WAS, indeed, an access portal. The tech acknowledged this...then proceeded to replace WHAT HE HAD ACKNOWLEDGED was an access portal. For THIS I was charged $450.... Recap: $345 for unsuccessful work. $450 for UNNECESSARY work! JUST SHORT OF $800 FOR a.) unsuccessful attempt, and; b.) UNNECESSARY work! When I called to discuss this, I was told I would be receiving a $345 refund--for the unsuccessful attempt to clear my drain.....but not the $450 for the UNNECESSARY replacement. As Troy stated when he called me back, "What do you expect...for us to come out and fix your drain for FREE!?" I was told to expect a refund of $345 in 7-10 days. It has been over two weeks....no refund. Troy explained that he "just signed it" [apparently my refund for...no solution]...He then continued arguing to the point of eventually I had to hang up on him. I cannot recall EVER hanging up on ANYONE in my life.... Before Troy became involved, I had dealt exclusively with Elva, who was polite, concerned with my complaint, and attempted to resolve my issues. I was ultimately referred to Troy....[who wanted to 'fix' my drain problem by replacing my sewer line to the city hook up....for $11,000....When I was unwilling [and unable] to go for the $11,000 solution, ONE MORE attempt was made to snake the drain....which succeeded....I guess the sewer repair was unnecessary [boy, this is becoming quite redundant!]. Troy was very good. Elva was exceptional! If you read Yelp reviews for ARS/Rescue Rooter, you will see that mine is not a unique situation. It seems many, many customers have had the same experience. Where to start, we needed a plumber fast at night due to a broken pipe somewhere in our walls. The guy came a few hours later smelling of pot (not that I'm against smokers, but not on the job). He spent about an hour and admitted he had no clue how to find the leak. He told us their most experienced guy Steve can come out first thing the next day. Steve "fixed" the problem and found other things that needed fixing as well one was our main valve was looking corroded so we fixed that and the pipe that burst. Total of $800! He also quoted us for a new kitchen faucet ours was giving no hot water, $400-that's labour alone. (Since then my husband has watched some you tube videos spent about an hour and a half and it has been beautifully replaced). The cost was not even the worst part of ARS, two days after fans are drying my basement I go down to a new puddle from the replaced main valve. Many phone calls and hours later turns out Steve (their expert) did not weld it. Now the other half of my basement is flooded. They fixed it and admitted their mistake. Now trying to talk to a manger about repair of the damages they caused was impossible. I finally spoke with Scott about 10 days later who had never heard about our 4 messages left. Our insurance is still trying to get them to be accountable for their mistake and pay for the damaged carpet replacement in the room they destroyed. If there is any justice whatsoever in this existence, one day we will find that there's an especially vile corner of afterlife purgatory reserved for home systems "experts" that attempt to take advantage of homeowners. Assuming that such a place exists, if WE held the cold scepter of justice, the people from ARS that tried to bilk us out of over $8,000.00 would be the FIRST ones drawn, quartered, and raked over the searing coals of afterlife torture. So, what happened, you ask? Well...we originally called ARS to look at our water heater, as we couldn't figure out why the HELL it was leaking. (Disclaimer - we'd have never called them if their company sticker wasn't smacked onto the water heater that came with our house...but, since the water heater is less than 5 years old, we thought we were going to be submitting a warranty claim, so we figured it'd be best to deal with the people that installed the thing...) Anyhow. So it turned out that our water heater was fine. The plumbing tech suspected that the leak was coming from a plugged air conditioner condenser drain line on the furnace, which is located adjacent to the water heater. The tech didn't know how to diagnose, let alone fix it, but he let us know that ARS also did furnaces and offered to have a "furnace guy" head out to check into our soggy furnace. We said "sure". So, 30 minutes later, the ARS furnace guy replaced the ARS plumbing guy and confirmed the "plugged condenser" situation and got to work fixing our damp little problem. So far, so good. Trip charges, diagnostics, lots of butt-scratching, and $350 later, we knew what was wrong and why our utility room was starting to resemble the Everglades...and were well on the way to remedying the situation. And then, with a giant middle finger emblazoned with letters A-R-S waving in the air, the wheels fell right off the bus. Upon completing the work on the condenser, the furnace guy suggested that we have him do a quick safety check of the furnace, just to make sure that the water overflowing from the condenser hadn't damaged anything. We agreed that it was a good idea and he got to work. As he was working on our furnace, we started hearing scary mutterings like "Carbon Monoxide" and "Cracked Heat Exchanger" and "Might have to red-tag this one....."; so we started to get a little nervous. Okay...a LOT nervous. Our worst fears were confirmed when the furnace guy emerged from the utility room and told us that we likely had a cracked heat exchanger and that we'd be looking at total furnace replacement at a cost of around $8,000.00 for a 95% efficient furnace. He then broke out his spectranalyzer, kicked on the furnace, and started to analyze the composition of the supply air, finally announcing to us that it was reading at 8 PPM of CO, which is on the border of "unsafe". (Notice I say "announcing". He never showed us the actual reading on the analyzer...) So, our new pal then told us that anytime they see a situation like this, they try to get a second set of eyes on it, so he called the "other" furnace guy that works for ARS and had him come out to verify the diagnosis. Which he did. Quickly. Then, the original furnace guy proceeded to tell us that we needed to do something sooner rather than later, and then he launched into his best "oh-by-the-way-have-you-seen-our-latest-specials-on-new-furnaces" routine. Since we don't happen to HAVE $8,000 laying around, just waiting to be dedicated to a new furnace, we decided to take the "it's-freaking-August-and-we-don't-need-the-furnace-for-at-least-a-month, so-we're-going-to-wait-on-this" approach. After cautioning us that ARS would certainly get busier as the weather turned cooler and we should "schedule now to make sure we get our new furnace before it gets cold...because turning it on could be a safety issue...", our new buddy took his bid sheet and left. That's when I started to do some research. The first thing I found out was that, unless there was something seriously out of whack, a furnace installed in 1999 should NOT have a cracked heat exchanger. So, smelling something decidedly fishy, I decided to get a second opinion (Eagle Crest Heating) And a third (GB3 Energy). And BOTH of my back-up opinions confirmed the following: 1) The heat exchanger in our furnace is NOT CRACKED. 2) The REAL carbon monoxide reading in the supply air coursing through our air ducts is 0.0 PPM. 3) Our furnace, though somewhat old, is COMPLETELY SAFE AND DOES NOT NEED REPLACING. The only conclusions I am left to draw are that either (a) both furnace guys at ARS don't know what the hell they are doing (a suspicion raised and pretty much confirmed by the gentleman from Eagle Crest...); or (b) ARS was just trying to pad their pockets by getting us to buy a furnace that WE DON'T NEED!!! Honestly, I'm pretty sure the correct answer is (c) all of the above. Seriously. Keep these clowns out of your house! read more

beware! the 88 dollar drain cleaning is a scam, i went to work and left my teen age daughter with 88 dollars cash and a check in case the service man did not want cash, he insisted to her that the actual cost was 350 dollars for a twenty minute standard clean out because 1 my drain was in the basement 2 it was not accessible well most drains are in the basement duh? and my drain pipe was accessible through a hatch purpose built into wall, 10 seconds to hae complete access to drain my daughter did not know better and paid the full amount to their credit when i went ballistic on the phone they did resolve it in a couple days but i was forced to put stop payment on the check, i was told some mumbo jumbo by service manager about mumbo jumbo etc. but he did resolve it and i thank him for that but it should never have happened in first place i clean my drain yearly for an average of less than 100 certainly no where ear 350 dollars be aware and be prepared read more

My home furnace stopped during night on November 10th, 2020. I called ARS/rescue rooter the next morning. The repair Technician said it needed a new gas value and told me it was $726 dollars. I thought that was very expensive, but I agreed. If I said NO Thanks, it would still be a $79 service call. A few days after the repair I looked up the part name and number that was on new gas value. I searched on the internet for the Honeywell part and found a distributor of Honeywell gas values with the same part number. The price was $71.26, plus tax and shipping. I know there is mark up on parts and additional labor to install. Don't agree to ARS Rescue Rooter prices if you can wait and check another repair service. I should have called the local furnace dealer Lennox. read more

Shady dealings. I dealt with "Flip." He had me write a check to "William Banks ARS." Turns out he is William Banks, put the check in his own bank account, and left incomplete work which later caused damage. I was transferred to Lisa. She did not blow off my concerns that the local management had done after they claimed they had no record of Flip's visit to my home. She researched my payment in her bank records and did not find my check. Then she told me to email her a copy (front and back) of the check. Flip had done a "side job" and she reported it to the corporate office on my behalf. I was later told by a loud-mouthed employee that she had been terminated for "telling on" Flip and she dresses like a lesbian. ARS fired the one employee who dealt with me honestly. read more

The furnace went out at my rental. My tenant called ARS to come one look at it. They told her that the heat exchanger was bad and that the furnace was 15 years old and not repairable. I called another company and they replaced the high limit switch, which is about a $15 part and now the furnace worksed fine. I had previously called ARS about a clogged main sewer line for their advertised special of $99 to clear a main line and they wanted about $300 to clear the line. I called someone else. I would not have called them for the furnace, but my tenant did not contact me first. She only called me to tell me that the furnace needed to be replaced. I had a clogged kitchen drain. I had removed the trap and snaked down about 10 feet to no avail. Aaron from ARS - Rescue Rooter was at my house within 90 minutes of my original call. Aaron was professional and polite and cleared the clog in about 15 minutes of arrival. Exceptional service and for the cost quoted in the estimate. I would definitely call them again, and would likely see if Aaron was available. read more

ARS was sent by Lowes to install a water heater. They were unable to provide an itemized estimate at the beginning of the job and we're not prepared to install the water heater I ordered at the store. After getting the itemized invoice from Lowes, "total installation labor" was one line item. The water heater and permit were listed at actual cost. Other parts such as drip pan, valve, expansion tank, and flue were priced apparently to include additional labor for each item despite the "total installation labor" line item. Some parts such an new gas line were not priced or billed at all. The most ridiculous charge was the drip pan for $247 costing $21 in store. The total was almost $3000. Additional costs totaled more than the "total installation labor". Beware of these guys hiding exorbitant labor charges in "miscellaneous" parts. I could have done the whole job myself for less than half of their charge. read more

If I could I would give this company a negitive 10 star review. We bought a AC unit from HD 2 years ago and ARS subcontracts for there installs. 2 years ago they came out and put in our AC unit and it was way to small for our home so they installed another AC that was a little bigger. They were supposed to come out this year and make sure that everything was running good with our AC unit that was installed by them. The tech showed up and checked out the AC unit for about 10-15 min, then came into the house to look at our furnace. After about 20 min the tech asked me if we could talk. He told me that we had a crack in our heat exchange and that our gas blower was not blowing Correctly. So the tech showed me the "crack" in the heat exchange that was there with a small camera. Our furnace is only 12 years old. The tech told me that it was not safe to run our furnace and that he highly recomends that we keep windows open. I was thinking that I need to replace the whole furnace so the tech went out to his truck for about 20 min. He came back in with a new furnace quote from $6,000 to $19,000, the whole time he wasnt even there for our frunace. So about an hr after he leaves our furnace stops working all together. So I called another Heating and AC company out to trouble shoot what was going on. He found that our blower motor had teken a power stike of some kind, it was black on the inside of the motor. No power outages, no thunder storms etc. I asked the new tech if he could look to see if we had a cracked heat exchange so he did and he said everything looks just fine. The crack that the 1st tech told me about was the seam on the back of the heat exchange from the mfgr. The blower was blowing just fine after he cleaned the 4 moths that were trapped in the gas blower tubes. The tech did not even put one of the plastic covers on correctly, it fell and broke shortly after he left. This almost felt like a used car sales-man from the 80s. This company tries to rip you off any time they can. I would give this company a -10 and the technician a -10. Make sure to do your research. Terrible Terrible Terrible!!!!! read more

2014 - Great AC service. Service pro Matthew S. is polite, friendly, and knows his stuff. He also explains repair options well. Update 2015: ARS has gone down hill. Took 2 days to get someone to do an "emergency" pipe repair. Plus, their service plan is not worth the time. Literally. It takes forever to get scheduled now for service. I will have to wait at least 5 weeks to have AC serviced by them. Summer will be almost over by then. And I will be melted. read more

I called ARS to check my furnaces (2 of them) for cracks in the heat exchangers. This is after a visit by Applewood left me feeling a bit scammed (see my review there). But I didn't like the BBB rating and had some concerns about reviews about ARS online so I called to cancel. I had a long discussion with their new sales manager who explained their issues in another part of the country causing the BBB rating issues, the selling of all of those franchises, and a total revamp of their business practices. I decide to give them a shot. Matt, their tech, was awesome. He used a snake camera to examine each exchanger while I watched on video. He pointed out and explained each crack. He then called another tech to stop by and confirm his diagnosis (standard practice if a cracked heat exchanger is discovered). He then wrote up a quote with 3 furnace options. The apples-to-apples quote compared to Applewood was $3,500 cheaper. So, I haven't moved forward yet (the reason for only 4 stars - no work done yet), but if I do I will highly consider moving forward with ARS (still getting other quotes). HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! -The plumber showed up an hour and a half late AFTER the 2 hour window I was assigned. This is without any sort of phone call to let me know. I had to call and ask where he was. Twice. The first time they said he would be here soon. Apparently "soon" is an hour and a half later. -I was told a manager would call me about the situation on Monday...I never received a call. -At the time of service, I was scheduled a another specific time and date to receive a camera-scope that would warranty their work. No one showed for that appointment. When I called, they said the appointment was never put into their system. Freddie, the plumber, was friendly and knew his job. I don't blame him for the poor management and customer service provided by Rescue Rooter. However, I would never recommend this unreliable company to anyone looking for plumbing services. read more

I needed a Plumber to come out and trouble shoot a leak in my wall from my water hose freezing over the winter. Tammy answered the phone and was very attentive to the call. Marvin showed up in a couple of hours and was able to pin point the problem quickly. He explained the proper way to have the leak fixed and was done fairly quickly. Terrible experience overall. I went through Home Depot and they subcontracted to this company, and I wish I would have gone through Costco instead. While all of the customer service representatives were very friendly, our installation of a heater and A/C unit was an absolute nightmare. The installation was fraught with problems from the start, when due to a communication issue an electrician was not contacted to do the necessary work. The service folks quickly rectified that situation, but because of the short notice,the electrician had to come back. After the electrician came back, no one contacted the drywaller to repair the cut he had to make to the wall, and I ended up having to schedule this myself. From there, the nightmare continued. Although from the get go we let everyone know we did not have a ladder, they forgot to leave one for the inspector so we failed the first inspection. The inspector came back a second time and was able to access the installation. It was done incorrectly and we failed again. The ARS folks sent out the same guy to correct his mistakes, and he spent the entire visit complaining about the inspector. After an hour and a half of work, he represented that the problem was corrected. It was not. We failed the third inspection. Keep in mind, it was difficult to reschedule all these inspections because only one person in the office has this information and if she is out, you are out of luck (even though by the third inspection I found out it's just a number you call with the city to get it set up and ended up doing this myself by the end). After rescheduling our fourth inspector visit, and having no one show up, I rescheduled the fourth inspection myself. At this point, I got a manager involved and let them know if it failed again I would be asking for a full refund. They sent out a new team this time to make the repairs. As this visit was ongoing, the inspector appeared for a fourth time. I overheard him instructing this team how to get the installation up to code. The inspector finally passed us, but he told me they nearly failed again. This repair took nearly four and a half hours. Overall, it took us nearly two months and over eight visits from ARS/subcontractors/inspectors. If I could do it all over again, I would choose a different company!!! read more

They ripped me off! I was at Home Depot in FEBRUARY of this year when the lady approached me. I scheduled an HVAC service- she took down all my info incorrectly, quoted the incorrect time and day. When the guy actually showed up, he was SO rude and instead of doing the service, he just tried to sell me new everything for $2,000.00. When I said no and asked about the actual service, he said "I dusted it off and put a filter on it" and was REALLY rude when he realized I wasn't going to buy anything. When I complained to Home Depot, I was refunded the money. Well, about a week ago, I get an email survey asking home my recent service went, which I did not have, then I look at my bank statement, sure enough, they just charged me again for the same service I NEVER signed up for, $39.00. I had to spend an entire Friday dealing with this BS problem on the phone because it was a nightmare and having to explain the situation to about 16 different customer service reps. Honestly, PAYING for a sales pitch just isn't the way I like to spend MY money. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! TOTAL SCAM, THEFT AND TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

I had a tech come out yesterday to look at my swamp cooler which was not working. After they changed my appointment 3 times he finally came out 3 days after the original appt. He spent 2 minutes looking at it and said the motor was bad and it would cost almost $1000.00. I said no and he charged me $99.00 for the service call. I then went to Home Depot and bought a motor for $75.00 and had a handyman come out and would install it for $100.00. When he got there and looked it he said the motor is fine but there was a bad wire on the motor. He repaired the wire for $50.00 and its now working fine. So it did not need a motor and ARS was trying to scam a disabled person out of a thousand dollars. Despicable. I am now trying to get my service fee back but they want paperwork from my handyman to send to corporate and who knows how long that will take. Just another scam in hopes that I will just give up and forget about it. Horrible company.. Please use anybody else if you can. read more

As I sit here for the 3rd day waiting for ARS Rescue Rooter to show up, I felt the need to share my experience. I found this company via the net and was drawn towards their pricing for a simple drain clog. I called the number and the call was answered by some type of answering service. I know this based on the questions I was asked (collecting information for further marketing). After 5 minutes on the phone, I set an appointment for 12 - 2 that day. At approximately 1:45 I was called by the office and told the technician was running behind and was asked if it was ok for them to come a few hours later. I understand that things happen and said "sure, no worries". About 3 hours later I was called again and told the "technician" had been in an automobile accident and wouldn't be able to make it. I suppose it is possible, but I have to say I find that excuse highly unlikely. I was asked if we could reschedule for the following day, to which I replied that I needed to check my wife's schedule. I called back about 5 minutes later and after 5 minutes on hold spoke to someone else to reschedule. I was given the 8-10 am slot for 2 days later. Well I am still sitting here at 11:06 and we are at a no call no show. I have a small child and have planned my day around this appointment. There is absolutely nothing worse than a contractor not showing up or even calling. I have read all of the other reviews and they are all 5 star. I have a hard time believing these are legitimate, as there is another review page for this same company and they are all negative. I wish I would have read these before wasting three days! I also now see they have 28 complaints with the BBB in the last 3 years!!! read more

Google search for 24 hour plumber brought me to Rescue Rooter. I called, was able to get a technician at my house in 1 hour but opted for the next time slot. Plumber was early, yet I was running a little behind. He waited 30 minutes for me, was polite, pleasant and had a clean appearance. Our main sewer line was backed up with a vengeance (known issue of a root invasion that I neglected). Joe was patient, chopped up my roots and pulled out the "flushable wipes" that were clogging the line. I asked him to inspect my basement drain because it wasn't draining. He went down and spent over an hour trying to unclog the basement drain. IT WAS BAD!!! It hadn't drained properly since we bought the house 2 years ago. Joe tried and tried and finally blew threw the clog of hardened clay/dirt. I was surprised he didn't give up but he kept at it and cleared the basement drain. Re-did the main line twice to cut through even more roots and the total cost was only $176 for over 2 hours of his work. Plus he offered to have them come video camera inspect the lines for free. I am VERY thankful that ARS Rescue Rooter was able to help me the Saturday of Memorial Weekend and didn't charge me extra for coming out at 8pm. read more

I made a service appt for my air conditioner tune up. On the day of my appt, ARS called to reschedule citing over scheduling emergency appts due to high temps. The rep asked me to reschedule, which I did, for 10 days later. When I called to confirm the time the day before, the 2nd rep told me I missed my appt. When I told her I did not, they reschedule, she threw me on hold. When she came back, she said my window was 10-2 on Thursday , but again they would have to cancel me due to too many appts. After demanding a supervisor, I spoke to Tammy who ID herself as a manager. She apologized saying they were trying to service the emergencies first, but if they did not make it on Thursday, then they would come on Saturday for sure. Saturday, after waiting all morning, the most uncourteous CSR callled to cancel again, with no new appt. While I was trying to explain my position, she hung up on me. I had a new furnace put in, the pricing was fantastic. 4 guys showed up for the install right on time and they took 2 hours to replace the whole unit. They then walked me through my new nest and were on to their next job. I will be getting a new humidifier from ARS here shortly. read more

The company was ok to work with for the install of a new HVAC system but the primary contact, Tristan, was horrible and not trustworthy. He consistently would deceive about why he didn't call back to inform me on changes in the schedule and basically at every turn it was, "oh you didn't get my message?" when he never called or it was someone else's fault. I didn't expect much from him but clear communication through the process and if he said something he would follow through on it. I am waiting to see if he actually completed the needed paperwork for credits to be provided from Xcel or Home Depot. read more

I scheduled an AC tune up for two weeks out, and took the day off of work to accommodate scheduling. The day prior to the appointment, I received a call asking if I could reschedule; I asked to not be, and was told I could still expect a technician as scheduled. One hour before the scheduled start on the following day, I was informed that no techs were available, and I was forced to reschedule for the following Saturday. Saturday comes and no dispatch, so I call back in to discover I've been moved out by another week and a half, at which point I cancelled. If this is a measure of ARS's organization, I'm glad they never did anything that I needed to pay for. read more

I used this company for drain service ,and ended up needing a complete replacement of the drain out to the street 13.5 k was the total cost ,over all we were satisfied . and we used them again to the cost of $375.00 for a kitchen drain that was clogged, they sent a guy Aaron and he had to run it 2 times and he claimed it was not clogged anymore, but since I wanted to see it with a camera ,the camera guy came in ,opened the clean out, and sure enough it was still clogged,he had a small auger and it was clearly not enough to unclog the drain, but he insisted that it was another collapsed pipe, and I said I want to see it, and since it was full of water we could not see anything, so he said it was time to dig it up and estimated the cost of 6k. The next day I called go direct ,they had a larger camera,Erick got it down there with a little work he freed the drain,and cleaned out with his camera, and after 3 passes we could see the pipe was fine no damage what so ever, moral to this story is ARS likes to dig things up rather than clear your drain so buyer beware read more

This company totally bait and switched me. I was at Home Depot and the sales guy sold me on a deal to tuneup my AC and furnace unit at both my rental house and my own home for $98 per property. Not only did the scheduler have my technician an hour away causing him to show up 10 minutes before my 9-11am window was over but I quickly found out that what had been promised to me by the young man at Home Depot was not included. The only thing they intended to do for the $98 was inspect the furnace and AC but it did not include cleaning the unit which was the only reason I scheduled it to begin with. Total waste of time for me, my renter (who both took off a morning from work), and the technician they sent out! Do not use this company, I should have looked at yelp sooner as there is a reason they only have 2.5 stars. read more

The good: They showed up on time, on Sunday, and fixed the backup. The bad: that $88 price they advertise wasn't the real price. It was four times as much. It appears the $88 in huge print applies ONLY if they don't have to take equipment into the house. A more typical price for an in-house ream-out are $150.We were about to leave town and had to solve the problem right away, so I took it, but I felt sort of baited and switched, and won't be using them again. read more

My furnace quit working during the night during an overnight low -7 outside. I called at 6:30am for an emergency appointment and Mike arrived at 9:30 before my 10am appointment. The only thing wrong was condensation on the condenser. He didn't try to up sell or tell us we needed new anything. Thank you for your honesty. read more

They would not quote ballpark prices over the phone for a simple resetting of a toilet. I use that as my baseline to determine if the plumber is sane and charges reasonably. I said, if they try to quote $300 to do this, then don't bother, as another organization tried that a long time ago. They showed up and quoted more than $300. Ha, guess they thought I wanted them to NOT quote exactly $300??? Additionally, the other work quoted got more ridiculous from there in terms of price. I found a far better company that quotes their rates on their website, and is all the other good stuff...courteous, offers alternatives to keep the costs down, very good work, knowledgeable. ARS is a scam. Let me start by saying that asking for 50$ up front even if you dont work is a scam...you can give a 2 mil dollar bill and just go from house to house all day long collecting 50 bucks. (which is not far off from what happened to me) This is YOUR business YOU need to go out to people houses if you want to be in the plumbing business.. sometimes you can do business and sometimes you cant. How dare you make me pay for the ride over here. every plumber needs to go somewhere. I needed to take my bathtub faucet off and put a new one on. I took the face plate off and tried to loosen the faucet from behind the faceplate. It felt really tight so i called a plumber to come help me. they shined a flashlight behind the faceplate and said there are threads. then without even trying to loosen it he said we can get your shower working again. he proceeded outside to his truck with his accomplice, did some talking with each other, wrote something down on an invoice then headed back inside to talk to me. he handed me an estimate for over $2,000 dollars!! I said look guys i just want you to unscrew my faucet. they told me its so old they did not want to risk breaking anything. I grudgingly gave them 50 bucks and told them to be on their way. The next day I called a different plumber and when he got there he said and i quote "This faucet is made to be unscrewed without removing the faceplate. it was so simple he almost removed it without any tools. Now granted iam not a plumber i dont know anything about plumbing and it cost me 100 bucks to learn how to unscrew a faucet. But that is exactly why i called a plumber. These guys dident even know how the faucet worked and if they did know then they were purposely trying to scam me out of $2,000 dollars. Either way its not a business i ever want in my home again. I called and they said there was no trip fee and no fee for weekend service. I made the appointment because a) it was snowing and b) I had already spoken with my neighbor who's working on an HVAC job in the mountains and couldn't get to it for 3 days. I had sent him a photo of the part and he had done a phone diagnostic and told me the part was about $70 and wouldn't take more than 20 minutes to fix. But he couldn't come, so we called these guys. Mike was professional, friendly, and seemed shocked when I indicated I could do math. He confirmed my friend's phone/photo diagnosis and the approximate price of the part. Then he offered to do the repair in a written estimate for $421.00. After I nearly threw up on my shoes he called a manager and the price spiraled down to $227.00. We clocked it. Including the time to load and unload tools and actually install the widget, it was 10 minutes. Deducting the price of the part, that means they charge $942 an hour (at the bargain I got) or--at the original quote, $2106 per hour depending. (Math: $227-70 part = $157 per 10 minute increment or (x6) $942 per hour.) When I pointed this out to the repair person, he said "Well, if that's how you want to look at it." We have an old house and needed to have the sewer main replaced and some plumbing work in the bathroom and kitchen. This was a very tough job in a house built in 1941. The job turned into much more work than expected but they stuck by the original quote. Flip was the technician that convinced us to use his company. Very thorough and professional Scott G was the plumber who worked long hours in a ditch in the basement, , Sal, Devon, Joseph did the work on the sewer. All hard workers and nice guys.
