The place is cute. It has a southwestern cow theme going. The bar is nice as well. It is tucked away behind a hotel so you have to look for it. The food was really good. We had the italian beef egg rolls to start. They were good, but actually needed a sauce instead of aus jus. But they were still good. I love giardiniera, and they have a really spicy,flavourful one. It goes really well with the Chicago pub burger too. The thing is huge! And tasty! He had a patty melt. Mine was better, but the burgers are just juicy and are made well. We happened to stumble on Crooked Horns looking for a nice spot for breakfast in town. The service was great, the server came back multiple times to refill drinks, but wasn't pushy about getting us out when we were done eating. There is a very large selection for breakfast. We ordered a breakfast sandwich on a croissant and the Nutella crepes with strawberries. Both items were very large portions for a good value and came out relatively quickly. We went with our baby and were able to put the car seat in the booth with us because the tables are very big, which is great. The restaurant has music on, but just loud enough to hear, but quiet enough to have a comfortable conversation without being distracted or having to yell. Overall, I would recommend anyone going to find a quality breakfast at a reasonable price. read more

Nice, Big Burgers 10 ounce! That seems like a good thing to start with. This is off the Peace Road "main drag" as it faces away from the road - you have to go in from Farm & Fleet or on the street just before it to get to the parking lot. This isn't a show-stopper, it's provided for help to those who wish to try it only. This used to be a Mexican restaurant, and I'm "Mexican'd out" at this point, so we never go to try it. It is now a southern US bar and grill which was more to my liking. The outside is pretty plain. The inside is done over with a western flair. There is even a saddle that your young ones can sit on in the waiting area for a photo op, which is a nice touch. When we walked in, we were seated promptly and given a breakfast and lunch/dinner menu. I ordered lunch - their 10 ounce Jalapeño Jack Burger with Coke and fries, and my wife ordered their breakfast "Combo 2" which included 2 eggs, two sausage links, and 4 half slices of French Toast. I wanted the burger cooked medium rare, and it was. That's a good thing. I had chosen the Jalapeno Jack Burger because I wanted a little heat with lunch. The problem was the jalapenos weren't hot at all. I got only a little heat. The burger otherwise was good, nice, big, and at this writing 3 hours after lunch, I'm still stuffed and will likely skip dinner as a result. My wife thoroughly enjoyed for Combo 2. She is a bit of a coffee lover, and I asked her about the coffee, and she said it was just okay. So if you are into coffee, keep that in mind. Service was prompt, the food came out fast and fresh. This is a tough one. It hasn't been open a very long time, but I have a feeling that they reused the dining room furniture which had seen things and maybe should have been retired. The service was ......okay. She didn't know the specials and barely knew what was on tap, but she was attentive. I would have said she was good if she knew anything on the menu. The food was just okay. There really wasn't anything on the menu you couldn't find someplace else better or less expensive. They do large servings, which is cool, but I rather have quality over quantity. All in all it was okay. The highlight is that on Thursday it's $3 drafts. May be the place to go for a beer and bar food, but that's all I got. I heard they do breakfast, which I love, so I may do another visit to see how it goes. read more

Let me tell you very good food and service spot in. We had BBQ Chicken Wrap and Reuben. Both were filled with meat and not the fillers. Chicken was cooked perfectly-- tender and right spice. Bad experience. Meal included fries which i can't eat because of celiac disease and they cook fries with breaded fish, chicken etc. They said would substitute baked for an upcharge. Wow. &4. For a baked potato and no credit for fries i couldn't eat. Texas Roadhouse allows choice of sides no extra charge. And they charged $9 for frozen margarita which was all mix. The variety of food is fairly large. The breakfast menu is interesting but we were there for dinner. I ordered the Chicago Pub Burger. It was a 10 ounce beef patty cooked medium with 6 ounces of Italian beef with lettuce, tomatoes and grilled onions which I specially requested. Giardinera came on the side. All of this was on a pretzel bun. That is one pound of meat! Plus fries, coleslaw (about three spoonfuls in a small cup) and a pickle half. I finished it, but it was all I could do. Service was great and the eating area was nice with a large screen TV every direction you could look, all with Monday Night Football on. We also had the 1 pound calamari appetizer. It was cooked perfect and came with cocktail sauce. All larger size, lightly breaded rings and no tentacles which was unusual. read more

After hearing reviews we thought to try. The fish special we were told one price and then charged $6 more each. No response from the owner. Most importantly, the fish was soaked in grease and cold. Soup was also room temperature. Ordered to go and the order was all messed up. No cole slaw, no crackers for soup, No roll like they said would be in there. Baked potato no butter or sour cream. I notified owner as it is in her best interest to know how her orders come out. NO RESPONSE!! We went at 11am so wife could get lunch I had the #2 combo Scrambled were ok, sausage patties were very good & pancakes were also good.. Portion was ok but the $10 price was just right. Wife had the pork tenderloin sandwich which was huge & fries were good also. This was a large portion for a lunch. I will come back, but only for breakfast/lunch. I met a friend who I hadn't seen in ten years for lunch today. The staff was patient with our long lunch in spite of the restaurant filling up. They even took a picture for us. The owner/manager stopped by the table to ask how we were enjoying the meal, but it was not a nudge to leave. She made her rounds of all the tables. My friend opted for breakfast and enjoyed a combo of bacon, scrambled eggs and French toast. I had the meatloaf, which came with a delicious cup of chicken dumpling soup, grilled mixed seasonal vegetables and mashed potatoes and brown gravy. There were three large slices of meatloaf. I took home a box of leftovers large enough to feed a family! Prices were reasonable. I hope to return sooner than ten years from now, but trust that they will still be in business. We stopped in to check it the latest restaurant in the neighborhood and hopefully a good burger. This location used to be a Mexican restaurant with a mediocre menu, and the new owner has definitely improved the lighting and ambience. In that respect the 10oz burgers were huge and very tasty, definitely worth the visit. The menu had the typical bar/pub items, wings, cheese curds, and the like. The wings were average, the curds were good, but I've had better. The steak was cooked to liking, yet at $35 for a bone-in ribeye, it was overpriced for the thin cut. The drinks are also a bit overpriced, $13 for a Moscow Mule. Although tasty, it's more like an $7-8 drink. The excellent service made up for the extra cost. I will return for the burgers and good service, the rest is left a bit wanting. read more

We have been here several times for dinner and for breakfast. We have always had good food and an overall good experience. Once when the restaurant was veiling up with just one waitress, the waitress got the manager to come help and they both really hustled. Overall a very pleasant place. read more

I know they're new and have to iron out a few wrinkles but on our first visit it was just okay. The burger i had was really good but the fries were frozen and blah. But, the food is extremely over priced for nothing special. For a BLT with fries, Burger with fries, mozzarella sticks, and water, our total came to $55 without tip! We went last evening for dinner excited to try a new place. There were two couples. Couple 1 got the pork tenderloin dinner and the meatloaf. Both were excellent. Large portions, warm food and great food. Broccoli was the veggie and the piece of that received was the size of a 12" softball! Couple 2 got the lasagna and a slab of ribs. The lasagna was good sized portion but could have been warmer. The slab of ribs was enormous but was a disappointment. Ordered with sauce on the side to be able to taste the meat and there was the problem. Ribs had no flavor and appeared to be over cooked. They were falling off the bone done but the rub on the ribs had no flavor at all (think cardboard) and the sauce was overpowering sweet. Took most of them home. If they had been cooked less and still had some moisture in the meat they would have been much better. Three of the folks had soup which was great while the final person had salad. The salad was served in a bowel which made it difficult to cut the large pieces of lettuce down to bite sized bits. Also the iced tea was one of the tea blends you either hated or loved, we didn't love it. All in all a good dinner with fantastic portion sizes worth the money.
