It's so nice to watch the matches in the newly covered (retractable) stadium. There's even misters when it get warm to cool off the spectators. Even if you are sitting in nosebleed, you still have a decent view of the game. A bit of a hike to get into the stadium's too sections. Food lines were busy but I brought mine from the kiosks outside the stadium. Apparently this is the largest stadium in the country to watch tennis. Very popular event! read more

Arthur Ashe Stadium should be on everyone's list of places to visit at least once in their lifetime. I've been to this stadium twice to watch the U.S. Open and more recently (2021) the U.S. Open Women's Finals. There is a large variety of food options, outdoor seating and restaurants with balconies to just lounge. Prices can be a bit steep for snacks and drinks, but it's expected for this type of event and venue. The best way to get in and out of Arthur Ashe is via subway or LIRR. The stadium is right by Citifield in Queens. I do not recommend driving/parking there or trying to catch an Uber/Lyft as the traffic was a nightmare (we had multiple Ubers cancel our trips and ended up taking the LIRR which got us home much faster). I hope that I'll be able to attend the U.S. Open every year while I live in New York City. read more

For tennis fans in the US, Arthur Ashe is the mecca. Named after one of the sport's greatest and most influential players, it is the world's largest indoor tennis stadium. As the main site of the US Open, it is the home of world class tennis and the finest hard court on the planet. Built over 20 years ago, the stadium's recent renovations have put it in a league of its own. The most significant change from several years ago was the completion of the retractable roof, ensuring that weather not affect any important match ever again. Surprisingly there isn't really a bad seat in the house. I was once nervous that I wouldn't be able to follow the ball from the nosebleeds but the blue color of the court softens the strain of spotting the ball in live action. During late night matches with people leaving, I'd sneak on down to the front row and marvel at the pros up close. It is such an incredible thing to witness. As part of the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, it is one of the most impressive sporting venues I've ever seen. I look forward to attending the Open each year and beam with pride knowing that folks have to step into the borough of Queens to see the magic happen. read more

I came to Arthur Ashe the other night for the first time to attend the US Open. I'll be honest in saying I don't have much authority when judging stadium accommodations; for the most part my exposure has been limited to the old and new Yankee Stadium so I can only go by what I've experienced. The seating and views at Arthur Ashe were very nice. I was on the loge level and had a great view of the court and the monitors. The stadium isn't too large and it was relatively easy to find your way around. Outside the stadium there was a food area which had a number of vendors including Fuku fried chicken (part of the Momofuku family). Inside, they also had a nice selection of food and souvenir shops. I will say because of the relatively small size of the stadium, if it's crowded then it can be a little difficult walking around the perimeter. However, the struggles were minimal. Overall, Arthur Ashe is a really well kept stadium, perfect for tennis. I look forward to returning for future US Open tournaments =) read more

This is a huge stadium that can feel impersonal at times. I had daytime seats that were high up and it was weird because there were lots of open seats, even though it was the Round of 16 on Labor Day. The main benefit to being so high up was it was in the shade! I felt cooler! I did not need to bring sunglasses or a hat! With a ticket to Arthur Ashe, I was able to watch matches on the Grandstand and outer courts too. That was nice because for the Round of 16, there were only 2 daytime matches. Contrastingly, I stayed for the night session too. It was Sharapova's first nighttime loss at the US Open and it was packed for her as well as Federer vs. Millman afterwards. Some famous people in attendance that night? Kevin and Joe Jonas and their significant others (Danielle Jonas and Sophie Turner), Bill Clinton, Steve Kerr, Aziz Ansari (why is he still relevant), Anna Wintour, and more! That was cool. The main highlight of being on Ashe was the atmosphere. It seemed the whole stadium was pulling for Federer and it was just amazing vibes hearing a few Aussies yelling for Millman. That match made the packed crowds, cost, time, sun, and late night worth it. read more

We came here for US open and it was fantastic. The nosebleed sets are actually much better than I expected. It's a lot more vertical distance up vs further back so the court doesn't seem too far away. You can still easily follow the action and since it's so high up you can also talk during the game We saw Federer, Nishikori, Djokavic play so that was definitely a highlight. Security was a breeze. If you don't bring a bag it was extremely quick to get in and out. read more

Another year at the US Open, and I am still not a fan of getting tickets to watch any tennis matches from this stadium. Unless you got wealthy connections or going on company money, you're most likely sitting in the nosebleeds and you can't even see the match happening. The atmosphere is amazing, but I find myself watching the TV screen more than the match itself in front of me because I can't see a damn thing. If you can afford to sit in the 100 and 200 section, good for you. For everyone else, you can catch the top 25 players on just a grounds pass at the other courts and venues for hundreds less. read more

It was my first time at the US Open. I didn't know they had GROUND tickets where you get access to the stadium but don't actually go in side to sit down & watch the match. They have large screens and tables & chairs around the stadium where you can watch. It was actually fun. Tons of food options, bbq, Korean bbq, Indian, seafood, ice cream, Mexican, sushi etc. There are numerous bars and a couple of sit down restaurants. read more

The mecca of US tennis and largest tennis stadium in the world. I always love it when the US Open rolls around because that means Arthur Ashe Stadium is open for business! Arthur Ashe Stadium was definitely a game changer when it first opened at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center and US tennis hasn't looked back. The stadium is as big as it looks on TV and the new retractable roof adds a new cool dimension to it. OK, so the players look like ants when you sit at the top, but tickets are always reasonably priced for the top sections during the opening rounds of the US Open. You basically get what you pay for and that's all we can ask for. My recommendation though is to try to buy tickets for seats that overlook the court from the ends instead of the sides or your head will become a swivel all night going left to right to left to right to left to right .... you get my drift. Ticket prices don't vary that much between end and side sections at the stadium, especially in the top deck. Other than that tip, sit back, relax and enjoy yourself. read more

My daughter is graduating today Thursday May 25. Fashion Institute of Technology's is having the ceremony here at Arther Ashe Stadium. Whoever designed the roads to get into the stadium should be fired. There was construction, one lane into the parking lot and only 2 boots collecting money to park. There was no one directing traffic and they had very few signs. It was total mayhem. Luckily I dropped my passengers off before I parked. It was at least a 10 to 15 minute walk in the rain to get to the stadium. Why would anyone design a stadium where the parking lot is so far away. While I was taking my unnecessary long walk to the stadium, there were many girls wearing high heels maneuvering around puddles of water and mud. This is not not a sporting event where people were dressed down, it was a graduation ceremony where many people were dressed very well. I don't know why the college decided to have it here, everyone was complaining about the parking and the traffic. And to add insult to injury they were pumping cold air into the stadium where most people are wet from the rain. So much for a stadium with the roof. Fashion Institute of Technology really did not think this through, but that's for another review of the college! read more

We have been coming to the US open for years now. It's definitely gotten more and more packed with people. We went to an evening match and the stadium was not cleaned from the event before. There was food and drink all over the seats. The lines inside Ashe for drinks and snacks were 30+min wait. People were getting 3 drinks at a time so they don't have to go back. And wine and cocktails are all 19$+. It just seems excessive. They aren't even measuring full pours into the glasses. The games themselves are amazing and we are so lucky to be able to go. But for the price we are now paying for tickets, and then if you pay parking or the train on top of the waters (8$) or hats (40$) a keychain 14$, it's hard to wrap your head around the pricing. And if we are expecting to shell out that amount, you'd expect the venue to be cleaner and more accessible. There weren't even ushers in certain sections and people were seat hoping all over the place and standing in front of the bars blocking other peoples view. I've been to MSG, met life, Barclays. Citi field. And this definitely takes the cake for most overpriced. Bag of chips: 9$. Go, but plan to spend. read more

This stadium is quite big for a tennis match, almost too big. Most of the seats are out in the open without any shades and is brutal on a hot summer day. It seemed like you can move around the uppers level seats if it is not crowded. The concession lines are not bad when we were there, during Quarter-Final matches. There are also phone charging stations near the concessions. Tickets are cheaper for the nosebleed seats and the level right below it. However, those are still too far away. You can tell when everybody often leans forward to watch the match below. The one benefit of being high up is the breeze and you get a great view of the surroundings and Manhattan skyline in the distance. I don't know too much about tennis and the players, but I do know about having fun. The Open [ha! Puns] space allows you to free roam and enjoy the stadium for more than just tennis. You can find yourself at the Heineken lounge, or the Grey Goose bars. There are plenty of food choices too , including Hillside Country, num Pang, and much more. I scored some free tickets 2 years in a row from my work perks. But watching games within the stadium is a lot of fun. Just make sure you stay quiet while the players rally. Arthur Ashe is the biggest stadium in the USTA, with Louis Armstrong and the Grandstand trailing behind. You would think that the top players would usually get the Ashe stadium during the US Open, but on the day I went, Fish and Tsonga had the Ashe stadium and Djokovich got the Armstrong stadium. We waited in line for the Armstrong stadium for one set, but it really didn't get far. So my friend and I headed for our seats in Ashe. The ushers are really strict about seating until you reach the cheap bleeder seats. After that, you can always plop yourself on the closest seat where no one is sitting. I was getting bored of the match (cheering for Tsonga, by the way) and I wonder what happened to our other friend that was suppose to be there. Looking around, I realized there's a line of people standing on the very top edge of the stadium looking out. They were watching the Djokovich match in the Armstrong stadium! We ran up and looked for a space with a nice view. There, we found our other friend (no AT&T reception up there). It was nice. Two games for the price of one. read more

Arthur Ashe Stadium is a staple amongst tennis fans. For the past four years. I have had the privilege of being in a suite at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Most of the time that I'm in the area I'm here for a Mets game you can literally walk from Citi Field to Arthur Ashe Stadium it is extremely close. The U.S. Open happens here every single year there are multiple areas where tennis matches occur on the grounds. Arthur Ashe Stadium is the big stadium in the complex where most of the major matches happen. I'm not the biggest tennis fan in the world but I do respect how hard it is to actually play tennis it's very taxing on the body it's also very difficult to Play tennis for about two hours each match. This year the U.S. Open was sponsored by gray goose so in the suite they had a really nice gray goose area they were pouring double shots which I was pretty impressed with for the price it was $16 for a single shot. I was constantly getting a double the match started at 11 AM the staff was extremely courteous and kind I was very impressed. Sweet seats are not cheap but I would recommend them to anyone that can afford the opportunity to go. Overall Arthur Ashe Stadium is a great place to see a match. I would recommend anybody coming here to go see the U.S. Open they do come once a year here and regardless if you're actually at Arthur Ashe or if you're at a different field on the complex it's still something to be a part of and see. read more

I've been to Arthur Ashe stadium once in 2014. Another time in 2018 I go to the US open but not in Arthur Ashe stadium. I remember when I ate the food for whatever reason I had to vomit immediately after eating the food. I saw John Isner playing someone else in Ashe stadium. I think a lot of the prices in souvenirs and meals are a big rip off. I remember end up spending about $70 for entry and about $15 on food and drinks both times. I bought a tennis ball for $5. The Arthur Ashe stadium is walkable distance from the 7 train. I think it's only about a half mile from Citifield stadium. read more

I went to an All Elite Wrestling show at Arthur Ashe Stadium on September 20, 2023. Where do I begin? I took Lyft both ways because I was unsure of the parking situation and the cost. I think I overheard someone say it was around $60 to park, which made me glad I took a Lyft since it was a cheaper. I got dropped off in the parking lot and literally had to walk a mile just to get to the stadium & enter! Makes me feel bad if someone has a disability or problems walking getting from the parking lot to the stadium! Getting to the stadium from the parking lot was like a maze, having to walk along a boardwalk & having to go up several ramps to get to the boardwalk. Maybe offer a shuttle bus to get there? UBS arena offers shuttle buses to those who park in the further away parking lot. Getting to my section once in wasn't bad but the seats are hard, uncomfortable and squished together, making people literally right on top of each other. While the show itself was fine & I enjoyed it, I wouldn't go to an event here again due to getting to the stadium and the seat situation. Maybe time for an overhaul? read more

Beautiful stadium but carefully plan going home if you're visiting. Took me at least 1 hour just to wait for a taxi. Share rides are abundant and expensive but even then it takes long to find your share ride with the sheer demand of share rides. Glad tho that I went to the US Open! What an experience! read more

Love the Open and had a great time but I do have a few complaints about Arthur Ashe. One- the ladies restrooms always had a few stalls out of order and some stalls the locks were broken on the doors. Do you know how hard it is to squat and hold the door shut???? 2- The Venus/Serena match was not handled well at ticketing gate. They need a better system for entrance into the stadium. We were not allowed to enter until after the match had already started people were yelling and gate security was saying no. Finally they allowed people in and it was like a mad dash they didn't check tickets either because there were so many people trying to get into the stadium after the match had started. read more

If you've been to any professional tennis match, and then visit the US open at Arthur Ashe stadium, you will facepalm and feel embarrassed by the display that American "sports fans" put on at the US Open. First, there's a constant and lingering chatter noise the entire time you are in Arthur Ashe, it does not go away, we don't know how to be quiet and appreciate the sport. Second, we sat in the promenade (not knowing as it was not advertised) but there are no rules around fans walking up and down aisles in the middle of points. Fine, I'm sure the fans would at least be respectful enough to wait until after points- nah! If there's a long point, forget it.. Steve and Joe and Karen are walking up with 12 hot dogs and 6 pizzas and they forgot where they're sitting.. They should've advertised this when we spent several hundred dollars to watch the tennis. read more

BTW, if anyone else was wondering what kind of view you'll be getting from the "Lower Promenade", check out the pic that I posted on this review. Even though you won't be close enough to see individual sweat drops flying off players' faces, the stadium seating provides a pretty clear and unobstructed view, as per the picture taken from our seats in section 303, row M. "Upper" vs. "lower" promenade is almost a negligible difference. Both sections will place you seated in the highest reaches of the stadium up against the back wall and possibly under the jumbotron, as rows A-M are "lower", and N-Z are "upper". If you're going to be stuck in the nosebleeds, the best seats will be in sections 303-306, 316-319, 323-326 and 336-339. But don't be discouraged - if you're fine with the "altitude", the view is still great! read more

First time at the US Open & what a match to see for your first Serena vs Venus .. man oh man match itself was very exciting. Getting through security was nice & easy not a lot of hassle even with so many people around. Once inside we had some time to kill before the match started food lines were unreal lorddd all mighty what a hot mess!! We gave the Tacos a try since it had one of the shortest lines line moved rather quickly 3 tacos $14 ahh not terrible a little pricey we had the Chicken tacos ok taste wise meat was kinda dry. We also had a grilled cheese from Melt, the double w bacon .. yummm now we talking very good grilled cheese. Drinks of course u have to try the Grey goose honey deuce very tasty nice drink pricey for $17 but u at least get a cool souvenir cup. Nice stadium with plenty of food options outside & Inside , we got last minute tickets to witness the 30th time Serena & Venus meet up & it was well worth it!! We enjoyed our time I can't ask for a better first experience at the US Open. read more

Pretty easy getting in and out even with the crowds. The bathroom lines got a little long, even for the dudes. By the finals they had run out of many food items, apparently they didn't want to be stuck with any leftovers. Lack of a roof meant that the Finals were once again delayed from Sun to Monday, though apparently they are working on addressing this. Thank God I happened to still be in NYC until Tues. The seat level immediately after "court side" was not as close as I had hoped, boxes are just behind court side so you're actually back a bit farther than you might expect (at least eyeballing it as I did on StubHub). I did see an incredible match, so I'm not complaining. read more

Fantastic tennis venue, covered or uncovered (better uncovered, gets muggy inside otherwise), and plenty of lights, sound, and studio boxes for those corporate guests, while lots of regular seating for those of us there to catch a match or two. Lots of food options outside, but a few inside, too - the stairs up to various levels need some work (I would've preferred more escalators). And if you're lost by Lot A and the President's entry, I don't blame you. They need more maps around the building and entry points that are more clearly labeled. Still, you feel like you're almost on the court, and you can hear every grunt and strain as they play. Much more easily managed with the LIRR, subway, and lots of Uber around in the South lot. Food varied depending on the stall. Morimoto sushi, I heard, in the suites available. And the hot dogs... well, I've had better for the cost, but they weren't bad. They should get Costco to upgrade their game, though. read more

Came to the US Open for two day in 2018 and purchased tickets for the evenings both days. So glad we did. It was really fun to feel the excitement and electricity in the air. We were there for both nights of the round of 16. Got to see the elite players, which was so special. The stadium itself is very good. During the course of our two day day visit we had tickets in three different locations of the stadium, including some pretty high one in the corner. Even our worst seats weren't bad. I don't think there is really a bad seat in the house. I will say it was quite hot and there aren't any fans (like in the new Armstrong stadium) to help move the air around. The overhang is pretty large, which is helpful to keep you shaded during the day. Food options are more limited than outside the stadium on the grounds but still some pretty good ones. We really enjoyed the "Honey Deuce" cocktail, made with vodka, lemonade, Chambord and garnished with honeydew balls. The price tag was hefty but heck it is once in lifetime for us! read more

This is the main tennis court stadium for the U.S. Open which I have attended once. There is also the slightly smaller Louis Armstrong Stadium and some small side courts where lesser known players play. My seat in Arthur Ashe was pretty high up. However, the angle of the seating is at a pretty extreme incline, so the view was not bad at all. As I was walking up the stairs to my seat, all I could think was: If someone were to trip on these stairs, they would roll all the down to the bottom. read more

It was on my wife's bucket list to watch all four grand slam tennis tournaments in person. I've been able to take her to two of them. Including, of course, the U.S. Open!! Wow!! We've come here to watch the U.S. Open Finals twice! On both occasions we were sitting in the "nosebleed" sections. I really thought that we would not be able to see a thing without binoculars. I am so glad to have been wrong! We were able to see everything very well without even watching play on the big screen television. I do not even have 20/20 vision, and I was still able to see the tennis court and players really good! Arthur Ashe Stadium is fabulous! It is amazing! Over 20,000 people watching tennis, and still be able to keep silent during play! Being at a Grand Slam event in person is so much better than watching it on television. Highly recommend coming here to Arthur Ashe Stadium to watch the U.S. Open Men's and/or Women's Final in person. Arthur Ashe Stadium is truly one of the best tennis stadiums in the world. Only negative is that our favorite player has not won the event when we have been in attendance. Oh well, nothing is perfect. read more

After 30 years I've finally been able to make my way to the US Open. Being on the stadium ground was an incredible experience. They had a fan experience section where you can play on a hard court inside, there was a booth where you can play hand ball and a booth where you make a small video of yourself serving. That was really neat to do. The food is for sure expensive but it's just like any other venue. I came here to watch the men's semi finals where Nadal played del Potro. It was really exciting to finally see my favorite player Nadal in action on one of the biggest stages in the game. Even though I sat in the nose bleeds the seats were horrible, you were still able to see the players from way up top. I honestly can't wait to come back for future matches here. read more
