Great game on Sunday. Tennis is much nicer to watch than other sports. The crowd is much nicer.
The US Open was packed but spacious. The bathrooms were clean and the all the buildings were huge! Right off the 7 subway which is very convenient. Nice long boardwalk off the subway leading you right into the stadium.
the little girl inside me was fangirling !! watching the world rankings play as a kid and playing tennis growing up made it all so much more special :-)
This was our first trip to the US Open in 2025. Although we read how easy it is to take the subway to the Open, we opted for an Uber. There wasn't a clearly marked spot to drop us off and so we walked a bit, and we ended up walking right past the station. It was directly across the bridge. So, definitely, take the subway next time. We made a reservation at Champions restaurant, but (Scam - they take your credit card for a reservation even though only courtside tickets are allowed to dine here) we were not able to eat there. I didn't like how we had to wait to get past the gates, they hold you there until after 6pm for the evening matches. Then, of course, the crowd rushes for the food, the bathrooms, and the shops and as a result, you can't do much of anything. Still, I had a delicious lobster roll from the food kiosks (Red Hook Lobster Pound). Inside Arthur Ashe, the seating was great, there were plenty of bathrooms and food options, and with the screens, you could see everything. What I didn't like, was the constant seat switching by people trying to get better seats. I suppose this happens at stadiums everywhere, but since you are supposed to be in your seat for play to start, this was so annoying to see people going up and down the stairs. Still, we got to see some great tennis, and the vibes here are great. It took forever to get to the ride share pickup (this needs better signage) and we walked quite a ways in the dark.
I came here for the first time on the first day of the US open and I was very impressed! We took a Lyft to the stadium and the ride share drop off / parking lot is a bit of a walk to the actual stadium. However they do offer a courtesy shuttle which I thought was nice. Security was quick and easy to get through especially considering the large crowds. The US Open village really is as cool as they say. Lots of Us open swag for sale and corporate sponsor pop ups (saw a lot from Chase in particular). If you leave the game you can always watch the match from one or the several television screens outside too. I thought the food options weee excellent. I saw lots of high end restaurants lile Coqadoq and FUKU and Eataly. Not your run of the mill fast food. It's very pricey though($8 for a soda). Don't believe they permit outside food. Inside the stadium itself, ithe seats were clean. Not super comfortable but pretty standard stadium seats . I liked how before the start of the game they televised the player rules. As someone who doesn't follow tennis closely this was a nice refresh. I'm not sure that I've seen this at other sports games I've been to. All in all I enjoyed my experience at Asher Ashe. I can't believe it's taken me this long to visit.
It's a great time every year for tennis and non tennis lovers. Easy to get to on the #7 the train. The seats are decent. They do have cup holders at most seats. The bathrooms are constantly cleaned. Most of the staff is helpful and friendly. The water fountains were not all working, this event generates a lot of money for NYC, the least they can do is make sure all the water fountains are working. There are plenty of quick food options and Lavazza coffee can be purchased at the San Mateo food stand. The coffee was perfect for this long day. Overall good spot!
I came for the US Open in 2025. They did not have clear bag policy so you can use your regular purse but make sure its not bigger than 12 by 10, ABSOLUTELY NO BACKPACKS! they will confiscate your sprays (SPF, Hand sanitizer, Hairspray, etc anything that sprays will be taken) what I find makes no sense, they were giving away spray SPF inside at AMEX but they took everyone else's. They allow me to keep my lighter. What was the purpose of confiscating spray bottles? tons of finger food, eataly was the only one I could find that did not have finger food. Of course, you have to get honeydeuce to wash down. You get to keep the cups. Tips for buying US Open tickets: 1. make sure you buy tickets in the shades the whole time 2. day session tickets is good for night game but in GA 3. if you buy tickets to Arthur ashe you get access to louis armstrong and the other court, grandstand(?) 4. the 7 train drops you off infront of the entrance
US Open has free access during Fan Week so we went to watch some qualifiers and earlier matches. Freebies from some of the sponsors.
I came here during Fan Week for the Mixed Doubles semi-finals and finals. I had a promenade ticket and sat in one of the lower rows of the section, and I was really happy because the view wasn't that bad (see picture for reference)! I heard a worker say that the stadium is huge, so there's really no such thing as a "bad spot." The next day I came back to Ashe to watch the free player practices. It's amazing because you can sit in courtside for free :) Such a great tennis stadium (the biggest in the world) with incredible energy during matches! Tip: Billie Jean King Tennis Center (where Ashe is inside) allows outside food and non-alcoholic drinks (as of August 2025), so I recommend bringing food if you want to save money (a meal is $20+ here). I bought food in flushing and brought it here :)
I had such an amazing time!! I won tickets through yelp Queens to the US Open for tennis. It was fans week so it was so cool to see the different activities they have. I purchased a cute "tennis" necklace. The matches were great! I am so happy to see THEE Venus Williams, Coco Gauff and Gael M. play. I had so much fun. The check-in in process inside the stadium needs to be a bit better though.
Visited the U.S. Open to see the Fourth Round matches at Arthur Ashe Stadium. I really enjoyed shopping at the Wilson and Nike stores, and shopping for merch. We saw Jannik Sinner's match, as well as Sabalenka's match. The stadium is huge and you have to go up 4 or 5 escalators to get to the top. It's a historic stadium and a must-see landmark if you're a tennis fan.
Out with our NY family enjoying the US Open. Fantastic venue. Food was great and service nothing less than five star.
This was my first time in a large tennis stadium and I loved it! This is truly one of the best ways to enjoy a tennis match. Crowd management at the front where they scan tickets could be done better. It was easy to find my section with all the signage. Decent amount of food options as well as a convenient gift shop. The seating area was kept pretty clean when I visited. I love that there is a roof in case of rain. Closed captions screen for whenever people are speaking was a nice touch.

ALRIGHT, so ABSOLUTELY no Backpacks, you gotta pay $5 for a storage locker, no exceptions that was probably the sour part of my experience, but I understood why,... You could never be too safe!!!! The stadium is beautiful and the view for the matches were awesome, you can feel the energy around the stadium, WARNING: you may want to bring an umbrella, caps, scarf or WEAR shorts to stay COOL, AS WELL AS WATER to stay hydrated it gets incredibly hot in the summer.. After 30 years I've finally been able to make my way to the US Open. Being on the stadium ground was an incredible experience. They had a fan experience section where you can play on a hard court inside, there was a booth where you can play hand ball and a booth where you make a small video of yourself serving. That was really neat to do. The food is for sure expensive but it's just like any other venue. I came here to watch the men's semi finals where Nadal played del Potro. It was really exciting to finally see my favorite player Nadal in action on one of the biggest stages in the game. Even though I sat in the nose bleeds the seats were horrible, you were still able to see the players from way up top. I honestly can't wait to come back for future matches here. read more

For being a major tennis tournaments, this stadium is designed very poorly. Its huge, and its impossible to get tickets in the bottom section. Have to know player to sit here. Best tickets anyone can buy is nosebleeds or 1 section below it. Its a very poor experience to watch match from nosebleeds. You can't really tell the speed or spin of the ball. Grand stand is the best stadium, lots of good seats, you can sit really close and is the only stadium with shade. I also watched players at the practice courts, that was the best. I also noticed during semi's etc., in Ashe there were a lot of empty seats ! why not sell these to spectators ?! Buy your U.S Open tickets a year in advance and buy 2 or 3 days of Ground Passes, during 1st week only, and you can go to any match (unlimited). read more
There is not a bad seat in the house! we thoroughly enjoyed the womens and mens quarterfinals and got the opportunity to watch all time great Serena Williams and of cos Del Potro into the wee hours. We went with the kids and halfway through the mens match my husband took them out for a treat and the ticket guy gave us passes to go sit courtside which was terrific. Absolutely love coming back again!! read more
So much fun to come here for the US Open! The stadium is huge and from what I experienced, relatively clean. All the staff I interacted with were very professional. It rained both days I came but thankfully the roof retracts so we were nice and dry! Tons of food options in the stadium. You have to get a honey deuce (their signature drink) if you go!! read more

My main critique is the seating scheme. Two rows of each letter in a section. Guarantees people sit in the incorrect seats by mistake. The food options are okay but having a single coffee cart for the US Open is quite odd. read more

We came here for US Open semifinal. We came before noon so the parking is easy. Many people skipped doubles in the morning. Our seats were at Gate 330 so we were under the shadow all the time which is awesome on a super humid & hot day. The roof closed due to the rain in the evening. I love this stadium! read more

Yay!!! Year 3 of the U.S. Open. My bf and I go to NYC every labor day, to watch the U.S. Open--and it's so much fun! For a tennis tournament, this is super cheap (tickets are over twice as much for Australian, about 4 times as much for French, and like a billion times more for Wimbledon), and the seats are all pretty good :) I seriously think there's not a bad seat in the house! We've always gone to the night sessions, and generally we've had pretty good luck with the men's games. In the 3 times we've gone, we've seen Djokovic, Murray, and Roddick (a few days before he retired!) We also watched Azarenka this year (who is playing the women's final tomorrow, against Serena). I'm so annoyed that they make bringing a bag such a hassle. They make you check bags, and pay for the locker...which is super expensive, and annoying! The best way to get in is to just bring your essentials in your pockets--no bags. As with any other sporting arena/stadium/grounds/area, food here is not wonderful, and fairly expensive. ...Hm, I wonder if they'd let me sneak a few sandwiches in... On the whole, the grounds are nice. Lots of shopping (I get an article of US Open clothing every year), including Nike, Polo, Wilson, etc. stores. There's also an AmEx deal, so if you spend $150, you can get $50 back--so get an AmEx, and save those receipts!!! There's also a Foursquare check-in deal--$10 off a $20 purchase with amex (though when we did this, none of the stores would let us use it, so.........) read more
What a gorgeous stadium. It's unfortunate they dont use it for other events. Went to opening night and had a great time. Staff kept the lines moving and the whole admission process very smooth. Tips: 1. No bookbag or large bags. They charge $5 to check in 2. They allow you to bring your own water bottles in as long it's not glass or metal 3. Bring your american express credit card to get free radios to listen to the tournament 4. Come early to walk around. Lots of good eatery. 5. Take public transportation. If you live far like me, i recommend you park your car maybe couple of stops away and then hop onto the 7 train. Even at night trains came quickly. 6. Have a great time! read more
Really nice stadium with a lot of food options inside. From seafood to burgers, you name it they got it. You get the stadium food and alcohol pricing which is like always a bit steep. Views are great and seating is comfortable, I was here for the US open and sat in the lower bowl so can't say how the views and seating is in the upper bowl. read more
Went back in 2014 and had a blast! Could've spent the whole weekend here. Saw the GOAT Federer here and there wasn't a bad seat in the house. Also saw small doubles action and was amazed how close you could get to the players. Heard every language around the globe among the crowd. Great to see/hear so much diversity in one of the most of diverse places in the world in Queens! Definitely want to go back. read more

The lines sucks to get in if you bring a bag! I suggest a express ticket to avoid a 30 min wait to get in. We first walked into the main entrance then decided to try the side entrance it was worse. The only good thing we were waiting in line in the shade at this entrance. read more

US Open day session. Thankful for the wise sage who decided to cover the venue. We are in the shade on a freakishly hot September day. Otherwise I would be burned beet red. This whole area is definitely a FOR-profit enterprise. Small beer is $10, vodka cocktail $16, bubbly is $25. Visor is $30. Im saving my cash for Little Italy tonight. Cheap wine and reasonable women. Oh yeah, the tennis is top notch. If you're into that stuff. read more

SECRET TIP: Entry is free in the week leading up to the main events. You can see some pretty big name players in the preliminary rounds on any given court. It's a great day/night to just show up and cruise all the different courts. What a way to get acquainted with professional tennis! Definitely a must if your into tennis, and it's FREE! Bring your own food and drink though, or you will go bankrupt! read more

The U.S. Open is really an amusement park style experience. Tennis isn't always fun to watch on television (one can easily lose focus), but it is a completely different experience live. Everyone watches in rapt attention with regard to every move. It feels dynamic and you feel involved. There is this thrill that comes from watching a sport in a huge stadium that pits one player against another player with everyone watching. A bit like a modern day Gladiator, but with decorum. The first week is not as eventful, with the greats easily obliterating their competition, and it is only when you get into the later rounds in the second week that you get to watch some really great matches. If you don't go often and say just make it for Labor Day weekend, then still watch your favorites play in Arthur Ashe even if they outmatch their opponent, but if you are planning to do the whole run, the better more proportionally matched sets will be in the other smaller stadiums like Armstrong and Grandstand. Btw, with your Arthur Ashe Stadium ticket you can go into the other stadiums or also check out the practice courts where you can see many great tennis players practicing. With regard to Arthur Ashe, I would recommend to make sure your tickets are corner view. That way your head is not following the ball and you get the best view of the court and game. By watching at a corner angle, you can see everything with as minimal movement as possible on your part. Additionally, I would recommend at least loge seating. Also wear sunblock, sunglasses, and bring or buy a U.S. Open hat, though some people came with umbrellas. And don't forget to claim the Amex earpiece radio. Watching tennis live has its own culture. After a match, the winner will be interviewed on the court by the media. They'll shoot a few tennis balls into the audience for a few lucky fans. Kids will buy these overstuffed large Wilson tennis balls and line up after a match to get them signed by the victor (you have to be a kid though . . . LOL). And there will also be a bunch of people outside the stadium exit waiting for their favorite player to leave hoping for an autograph or photo. It is cute. There is a also a plethora of shopping (U.S. open merchandise, a Polo Store, LaCoste, and small vendor stands everywhere) and a ton of food and drink options both inside and outside and around the various stadiums. If you want to exit the whole area, they will stamp you if you want to re-enter much like an amusement park. Towards the exit, they also have museum-like items up explaining the U.S. Open if you want to get some tennis history in as well. The U.S. Open is a definite must-do and an experience I will be repeating. read more

The US Open is one of my favorite sporting events to attend! While I've been to early matches, as well as the Round of 16 (never been to the Finals if anyone wants to take me), my favorite time to go is during the prelims. There's FREE entry to the prelims, and you are allowed to roam around and tour the facilities. It gives you the chance to see a variety of players, including up-and-coming athletes, who are attempting to qualify for the US Open. Additionally, if you hit it right, you can see top tennis athletes practicing in preparation for the US Open. Two years ago, I happened to be standing at one of the practice courts and saw Nadal, who was literally two feet in front of me. I've also seen him actually playing, but it was amazing to be up close, watching his practice routine. Last year I saw Ferrer and Robredo practicing together, among others. I evenly creepily stood outside the bathroom to see Donald Young walk out. He was so close we could've held hands. We didn't, seeing as he just came out of the bathroom, but maybe next time. The event is kid-friendly, and I always have a blast, getting to see a little bit of everything. Food is expensive, but considering entry for the Prelims is free, I can't complain. It's an extremely clean venue, with supportive and helpful staff. The entire experience is exciting, and I can't wait to go again next year. read more

My whole New York trip was planned around going to the US Open Men's Final but because of good ol Ticketmaster, all men's finals and semifinals were sold out. Thankfully the quarters landed within my vacation period. I literally flew into NY at 6am, dropped off my bags, and went straight to the 11am match. The tickets said the match was at 11am but it actually was 12pm. I was able to watch two matches- the mens doubles match with the Bryan brothers and Andy Murray in the quarterfinals. This was the day match so unfortunately I was not able to watch the evening match with friggin Djokovic!!! That was a total bummer and maybe that was why I wasnt ass eggcited for the Murray match. Being in the stadium is pretty surreal though since I always watch it on TV, so it sorta felt like a dream come true. The players are so real and intense during their matches. I sorta zoned out during the match because the sun was just piercing through me and of course I got the seats that were not shaded. Honestly, I think watching tennis on TV is just as good since you get the best view of the entire match and you arent burning up. Of course it is a great experience to go just once, so that is one out of four grand slams I have attended. 3 more to go! I got the middle section seats. So not those super super expensive ones in the bottom and not the blood seats on top. There were $360 for two and I was positioned in one of the corners of the court. I was still able to see them play but couldnt really make out their faces. I was in the last row for the middle section so honestly getting the blood seats is not that bad at all if you want to save some money. **TIPS** 1) You can bring your DSLR to take photos. Make sure you have a lens that can zoom in. 2) Bring a hat. If you are sitting where I sat, the sun is ridic but thank goodness I bought a souvenir hat...that was later signed by Venus Williams! :D 3) There is food and souvenir shops around the stadium so go check it out! When I couldnt stand the heat, I just walked around the place. 4) You can watch the pros practice for their tennis matches at designated times on Court 1 or so. Go look at a electronic sign that lets you know the location, time, and player. I saw Nadal leave and Djokovic was supposed to practice and made me wait 2 hours for his appearance, but he never showed up! Good luck guys! 5) Enjoy! read more
