    Turkey Grinder

Arthur's in Belk is a Charlotte classic for me! Love stopping here for lunch whenever I need to go to Southpark. Never crowded compared to the food court, good prices, and delicious food! My go to is always the Turkey Grinder.

Such a pleasure to find a hidden gem in Charlotte in Charlotte these days, when the city seems to be overran with breweries and pizza joints now. Arthur's inside of Belks in South Park mall is a great spot to refuel after doing some shopping. Awesome menu boasting burgers, subs and hot dogs and even salads so there's something for everyone. I got the chicken salad grinder sub and it was absolutely delish. Cooked to order with a hot a crispy side of fries. They also have a wine shop that offers free wine tastings on Saturdays which is a must do. Can try yummy wines while learning abt their origin. Also a new edition I just found out abt is they have a wine bar on the second floor right besides cosmetics. Great little spot to relax and unwind, do some prime people watching all while enjoying a glass of wine. Perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon at all 3 spots.

Super cool spot to chill and rest during our shopping experience! Loved that we could have wine or beer or even lunch here on the second floor of Belk! Made our trip to the mall super nice. Our bartender was super nice and brought our glasses to us. No rush. Can't wait for a return trip! Can all the shops have a wine bar?

Loved finding this cute swanky bar right near the cosmetics, perfume department! Nice Friday afternoon treat after a hard work week! There were a few ladies enjoying their time at the bar as well, and I was there waiting for a few family members to arrive and look at all the sales Belk was offering. The bartender was super sweet and efficient. There is plenty of bar seating with a few tables and chairs around the area. I've never seen this before (bar in a department store), but I loved it! Grab a sip, shop, and have fun! Loved it! Especially if you don't want to go into an actual bar, this is definitely a different experience. They offer different types of wines, red and white, alcohol and I believe I also saw a few bite options, but I didn't eat, so I didn't really look into the food situation. If I'm ever at Belks, I'll definitely stop by here again.

This is what u get ordering a toasted BLT with extra bacon. I've been coming here since this place was on the other corner of belks.... paid $30 for 2 of these, uncooked FF. This is HORRIBLE.

This is a review for the newly opened wine bar! They JUST opened up a wine bar one floor above the original Arthur's (still inside the Belk), and I had a lovely time. Exceptional and kind service, chill but slightly upscale ambiance (fitting with South Park mall), and yummy mimosas. My bartender Leila was so very kind and quickly got me my mimosas, and my sister a sauvignon blanc when asked. They pre-measure the amount of wine they give you, which is fair since it makes it consistent, but she was more than happy to go light on the orange juice with just a splash to make it to my liking. We also got to talking about books, which was really nice - she gave me some recommendations and I gave her some in turn. Will return just for the kind service with book talk while having a yummy mimosa. I will say that I recommended that they replace their current Prosecco selection of La Marca to a better brand. I'm a fairly consistent sparkling wine drinker, and La Marca is bottom shelf - which is why I would rather have the mimosa here than a glass of Prosecco. I do hope they switch out the Prosecco soon. You don't have to get super pricey or anything, just taste wise, La Marca isn't great. The corner space they have the wine bar is small, but big enough to hold a good bit of people. I love this addition as I can just sit and drink some wine while my friends shop lol. It's cute, and still upscale looking, with comfy seats and couches around. Will def be back!

The restaurant is unique, being underneath a belk. I actually like the restaurant, and i've been many times. However, this time it was subpar. I ordered fries to go and they were mid- way undersalted. But the main reason this is a 2 star review is their shady business practice of having a falsely low price on the menu. Their menu advertised 2.99 for fries. Not cheap, but whatever. But when i got to the register, it was 3.69 for fries. Also, 3$ for a fountain drink! it's outrageous. Advertising a cheaper price is manipulative

    Grilled chicken panini and chili

Skip the food court and head to Belk's basement for fresh, cooked to order food! Sandwiches, salads, and soups galore... On our most recent visit, I had the grilled chicken panini with a cup of chili. The sandwich was piping hot and full of great ingredients like an entire grilled chicken breast, avacado, tomato and a tasty chipotle queso sauce. The chili was perfect on a cold, winter day and proved great for dipping my sandwich (and Ted's fries) into. Speaking of Ted, he had the loaded chicken cheese steak. The sandwich was absolutely overflowing with chicken and grilled veggies! I had total order envy. Good thing he shares! So, long story short... You can't do better for a mall meal than Arthur's! Oh! And, if you're not looking for food but wouldn't mind a drink, you can grab a glass of wine from Arthur's and take it with you while you shop Belk. Sip and shop!

This is a review for the wine shop. Who would expect to find one of the best wine shops in Charlotte at Belk? But actually it is a serious wine shop that happens to be located on the bottom floor of Belk at South Park Mall. I highly recommend stopping by if you are at the Mall or going if you are searching for wine. Their prices are pretty decent. Their selection is great. They have a wide range and you can definitely find something that you'll like there. I normally find myself there on Saturday afternoons and every time I've stopped in they are having a free wine tasting. You can also buy a glass of wine and go shopping in Belk which is a nice experience.

Optimist Hall itself is a very food-centric, upscale food hall with a ton of vendors, so the atmosphere is energetic and fun. Seating can be a little challenging during peak dinner hours since so many people are grabbing food from different spots, but when the weather is nice there's plenty of outdoor seating. Harriet's keeps their burger formula refreshingly simple. It's a classic smash burger done right--made to order with a straightforward menu that doesn't overcomplicate things. There's usually a line, but it moves pretty quickly, and the burgers come out hot and fresh. One of the best parts of eating here is the flexibility of the food hall experience. While you're waiting, you can grab a craft beer, a glass of wine, or even browse for dessert from one of the other vendors. Insider tip: Come with a group if you can. It's a great place to share fries and let everyone explore different vendors around the hall. Parking is fairly easy with the nearby garage, which makes the whole experience even more convenient. Overall, Harriet's is a fun, delicious stop for a smash burger, especially if you're already enjoying the energy of Optimist Hall.

I live super close to Optimist Hall, so it's been on my radar for a while. This particular night I wasn't feeling great, so I DoorDashed instead of dining in. I ordered the Royale with crispy fries and let me just say... I get it. The burger was genuinely impressive. The quality of the beef stood out immediately. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The meat to bun ratio was spot on, which is crucial. Nothing worse than a bread heavy burger. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh, the build was balanced, and even after delivery, everything held up beautifully. So far I've tried two burger spots in Charlotte, and this one takes the top spot. I'm not ready to declare it the best in the entire city just yet because my burger tour is ongoing, but right now it's leading the race. I'll definitely be going to Optimist Hall soon to try it fresh off the grill and experience the service and atmosphere firsthand. Expect an update. But based on this first round alone, Harriet's is absolutely worth the order. Burger lovers, this one deserves a try.

As a West Coast transplant now living in Charlotte, I have very specific standards when it comes to…read moreburgers. For me, the gold standard isn't fancy -- it's balance. Think that perfect meat-cheese-bread ratio you get at an In-N-Out: not too big, not too messy, not dripping everywhere, but still juicy and satisfying. A burger you can actually pick up and enjoy without resorting to a knife and fork like George Costanza. That's why I appreciate Ace No. 3. Their menu is refreshingly simple -- burgers, fries, shakes -- and that simplicity tells me they know exactly what they do well. Everything is made to order, and the consistency shows. The Ace burger is my go-to, and it delivers every time. The shoestring fries are excellent, and the sweet potato tots are another favorite. I've also treated myself to a milkshake here and there, and they're worth it. Fun bonus: they offer "boozy shakes" for adults, which adds a playful twist -- just note they have to be enjoyed on site. They also keep a short, rotating list of beers, which I appreciate. It's curated, not overwhelming. One thing I noticed recently -- and as a fellow marketer, I have to applaud this -- is their milkshake happy hour from 2-4 PM. That's a smart strategy to drive traffic during slower hours between lunch and dinner. Simple, effective, and well executed. A few practical notes: Parking can be a little tight because the lot behind the restaurant is small, but if you go during off-peak hours or order ahead for pickup, it's manageable. The Belmont neighborhood location is easy to get in and out of, and while it's not a high-traffic pedestrian area, that can actually work in your favor. Bottom line: As someone who grew up with West Coast burger culture, this is the closest I've found in Charlotte to that classic, satisfying bite -- even if it costs a bit more than In-N-Out. The quality and execution make it worth it. Get out there, eat well, be curious -- and follow me as I continue eating my way through Charlotte.
