I whole-heartedly agree with all of the positive reviews here. This place is a rare gem, both extremely competent and very, very service-oriented and friendly. I own a 2014 Subaru Outback. Due to chronic back pain, the driver's seat was not working out for me at all. It was too hard and the wrong shape for my back. Arthur did "open-heart surgery" on the seat, not once, but four times, until I finally liked the new shape of the seat. This was basically a trial and error process, as there was no way to tell whether a change worked until I had driven the car for a while. I should add that this was not due to any faulty workmanship on the part of the shop. It was simply a matter of getting it just right, which required several iterations of changes. Perfect ergonomics are not easy to achieve, especially for someone with a hypersensitive back. Throughout the process, Arthur remained very understanding and friendly, and even encouraged me to come back each time if I didn't like the seat yet. Nor did he charge me extra. In fact, he declined additional payment when I offered it the third time I went back (I was frankly a bit embarrassed to put the man through some much trouble with the darn seat). Watching him open up and work on the seat several times, I could tell he really knows what he's doing. Never having seen the inside of a car seat before, I was surprised how complex it is. And every car seat is a bit different in design, of course. Yet, Arthur maneuvered confidently at all times, opening the seat up, replacing and shaping foam pieces, adjusting the tension, and reinstalling the seat. All in all, I am very lucky I found Arthur, as I would otherwise probably have had to sell my new car. It was just killing my already bad back. So, if you are looking for a competent, honest, friendly and reasonably priced auto upholstery service in the area, you will be in good hands with Arthur. And, please, look past the somewhat dated premises, which are a bit rough around the edges. The quality of the work and people there is what counts, in my mind, not the looks of the place. read more

Bottom line-Good craftsmanship+reasonable price+no surprises=customer satisfaction. There's a small tear on the armrest of my car that needed to be repaired. Arthur(I think it's the dad) told me I had to leave the car there for at least half a day, which I think is fair if they can do a good job. Car was ready in the afternoon as promised and the armrest looks brand new! I was really impressed and decided to write a review asap to commend him for a job well done. His son who helped me through the whole process is also very nice and easy to talk to. I will definitely recommend this shop to all my friends and families. read more

I got my 80's bimmer's front and back seats re-upholstered with Arthur and I couldn't be more happy with the results. The price was great---much lower than another quote I got---but they were also helpfully flexible (I got leather for the front and vinyl for the back). He not only put new material, but he also replaced the old foam. The inside of my car feels (and smells!) brand new! Good communication and good payment scheme (half at first, half later). I stopped by to get a quote to repair my headliner. Art said it needed to be replaced and he would use OEM fabric. The quote was competitive and he seemed to know what he was doing (there were some nice pictures on the wall of some custom work that he did for SEMA). I made an appointment. I dropped the car off at 8:30 AM and he had it done before 4 PM, just like he promised. The work looks great! I would go back again without any hesitation. read more

Keep in mind that I am basing my review on a very brief, but pleasant experience, which did not involve any money or hard work. My mechanic suggested this shop for a minor upholstery problem I wanted to fix. I met Eddie (after nearly driving right by the shop haha) and he was able to figure out the small problem I had, in about 5 minutes. He was very professional and easy to talk with. I asked about a car he was working on and it was clear to me that they are very passionate and proud about the work they do. Considering this, I may return to have them repair some torn vinyl. read more

Came here for a drivers seat repair. He did a wonderful job and rather quickly. There was a little discrepancy on some minor damage in the interior of my car. The owner and myself couldn't come up with how the damage got there. He took the highest road and repaired the damage immediately. Great customer service all the way. Great Prompt Service, my 2000 Toyota Celica had a big hole on my front Drive side carpet and my Driver seat had a big Rip....Got quotes from different Auto Upholstery but the rest were charging ridiculous amounts, when I came in, Arthur quoted me a Fair Price, to top it off, he found an Original cover seat for my Car plus he gave me a Ride back Home after I dropped of my car so I saved money by not using Lyft or Uber....This place is Recommended for all your Car Upholstery needs in the Pasadena Area read more

I recently bought an 2008 Acura TL Type S with very low miles and in great condition, but the perforated leather sections on the front 2 seats had a lot of wear. Eventually there was a tear in the driver's seat side. Arthur gave me a real good price on replacing the parts of the seats that had damage and the new leather looks and feels great! He even drove me 10 miles to work in the morning and picked me up at the end of the day so that I would not have to rent a car! I highly recommend this business. read more

Arthurs Auto Upholstery is the best!!! I took my1999 BMW roadster in there for much needed TLC--not only was the top unsewn and leaking with the rain, but the driver's side leather car seat had split, etc., etc., etc. Now I absolutely love this car, and Arthur, recognizing that, did his darndest to make me happy. He absolutely surpassed expectations! Now my car is sporting a gorgeous new top and two beautiful new seats--the second one occurring almost by accident! I had gone to many many places looking for just the right upholsterer, but it wasn't until I found Arthur that everything felt just right! He went beyond what he had promised. Recently took in my 2008 Acura TL with leather seat splitting and tear issues. I was assisted and given a quote immediately. We arranged for me to drop the car later in the week, and was promised the car would be ready for pick up later that day. The repairs were done on time, on budget and very very professionally. I bought a ten-year-old Ford pickup with the most basic interior -- vinyl bench seat, rubber floor mat -- and wanted to dress it up for a reasonable price. Arthur has by far the best reputation in Pasadena, but I was afraid he'd be too expensive for a modest truck like mine. Instead, his estimate was so reasonable I didn't even bother to go to another shop. He recovered the seat in leather with a kind of craftsmanship I'm used to seeing in British cars from the '50s and '60s. The quality far exceeds the stock leather in my BMW. The carpet is just as beautiful, and, for a modest price, he made matching floor mats that far exceed in quality anything I've seen in the aftermarket. Finally, he used some kind of vinyl paint to touch up a scuff on the dashboard so perfectly it's impossible to tell there was ever a scuff in the first place. Arthur takes incredible pride in his work, and it shows in the results. This is a kind of Old World professionalism we seldom see these days. I couldn't be happier. read more
