If I say too many bad things about Arthur's, I'm pretty sure the pack of 17 octogenarian regulars who keep this place in business will engage me in a knife fight. The elderly are more dangerous because a life sentence doesn't mean much. That said, Arthur's is clearly beloved by a very specific clientele, and you can tell the second you walk in. I'm pretty sure the decor hasn't been updated in their lifetime, and I was half afraid to touch anything in case it turned to dust. It just doesn't look like anyone cared anymore. The service is friendly and old school, with plenty of smiles, and there's a loyal crowd keeping the place alive. The food is fine, just not memorable. My Southwest burrito was perfectly serviceable. Definitely something you could get at a dozen other diners. my niece's biscuits and gravy were pretty abysmal: pasty, salty, and generally regrettable. Overall, Arthur's feels less like a great breakfast spot and more like the memory of one, running on nostalgia rather than new reasons to become a regular. It's only open for a short breakfasty brunchy window, so you have to plan for it. If you're already one of the 17 octogenarians, you'll probably love it. I was back in La Habra for family things, and I was so happy to see that Arthur's was still open. It was our last morning in town, so we stopped in for breakfast... The food... plentiful. The service... amazing and friendly. The restaurant... clean, full of locals. Other than the prices, things really haven't changed at all. I had the chorizo and eggs. Instead of rice I opted for their house potatoes. Everything was so good. My husband got the french toast. He had four generous slices that even he couldn't finish. I took a taste and they were very good. The coffee cup was never empty. The waitress checked on us often and made sure we had everything we needed. They even had Earl Grey tea which I was very excited about, and they provided an extra pot of hot water in case I wanted a second cup. Arthur's is still the local place to go for a great breakfast. Prices have gone up greatly (average about $18 per person, plus extra for coffee/tea) but it's still the same quality of service and food I remember. We needed to use the bathroom and decided to eat a late lunch. My boyfriend ordered the French toast with bacon and eggs, and everything came out hot and perfectly cooked. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with melted Jack cheese on toasted sourdough cut into 3 triangles and it was honestly one of the best sandwiches I've had. It was simple, topped with lettuce, tomatoe and pickle on the side. The grilled chicken was very thin, the way I like it. Add onions to make it better. What really stood out was the service. We arrived about 15 minutes before closing, and the staff was still welcoming, kind, and never rushed us. That alone says a lot. The last time I ate here was about nine years ago. My girlfriend and I decided to give this place a try and I'm actually glad we did. The portions are decent, but in my original review, I claimed that the portions were huge. I ordered the ham steak and eggs with hashbrowns and toast. The portion is plentiful, but I wouldn't say it's overwhelmingly huge. It was plenty of food for breakfast and I was full for most of the day. The service is good, my coffee was refilled a few times, but items are made to order so be prepared to wait. We came on a Wednesday and I believe we were there for over an hour. Can't believe today was my first time dining at Arthur's! Someone mentioned new management took over, and while I can't compare it to before, I can honestly say it's one of the best breakfast diners I've tried. The crispy hash browns were my favorite! Our first time here. We used Yelp and we tried it. We walked in and nobody was at the front desk. We had to wait for someone to FINALLY notice we were there. Hubby wasn't pleased. We sat they brought the menu and coffee. Our waitress was pleasant. She refilled our coffee once. Monday morning busy! Arrive at 9am and there was a bit of a wait. Which wasn't a problem. The place was clean and quaint. The orange juice was tasty, lightly sweet just the way I like it. I came to this place on a slow Sunday, and was not greeted by staff right away. Which is fine enough whatever. I was sat down, and shortly after place my order. When my food was delivered I wasn't given any utensils. I waited for staff to return and give them to me but nobody ever came. I had to get up myself and grab them from the table at the front door. The waitress never checked on me to see if I needed anything else (which I did). A little gem in La Habra . Went on a Sunday and was not too busy so they sat me down right away. The pancakes were really really good and it came with sausage and bacon or you can get all sausage or all bacon and coffee. One thing I like about cafés is your pancakes and their coffees and 10 out of 10! Another thing I really liked about this place. It feels like you're at your grandma's house back in the days . We have known of Arthurs for years but had not had a chance to come here. This Saturday we were on our way to La Habra area so we decided that we needed to try this place. First the service was great! The servers worked well together and all were polite. When our waitress was busy another young man came over and refiled our coffees. My wife and ordered and shared the Big Sampler with French toast special but we added a side of biscuits and bacon gravy. The bacon was thick cut bacon and the best part of the meal. The sausage was OK and our piece of ham was less than 2" sq. Not bad, in fact we took some food home because the plate in addition to our added biscuits and gravy was too much for us to eat. One might ask why 3 Stars. Well while the food was good and the service was great we just felt that the bulk of our plate was mediocre potatoes. There is not much you can do with most of the items on this plate. Hard to screw up bacon, eggs, ham, etc. but there was really nothing that stood out including their bacon gravy. It was good, don't get me wrong but as I mention in many of my reviews value has to be part of the equation. We Arrived to Arthurs at about noon and the waiting time was very minimum. Keep in mind they close at 1pm. The hostess was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is very laid back and comfortable. I ordered the breakfast sampler with 1/2 of french toast and with a side of biscuits and gravy (yes I eat alot)! . The wife had a breakfast special which it included a 1/2 of french toast and 3 eggs, she ordered the strawberry and banana toping on it. Unfortunately they were out of bananas.... When she received her breakfast, she noticed that the strawberries were frozen (strawberry jam-like) which she did not like. It should be noted that on the menu it stated "fresh strawberries" and they were not.... However The hostess was very nice and offered fresh cut strawberries on the side. She added that they were aware about the menu stating "fresh strawberries" but they really meant the jam-like strawberries. The wife decided to get the fresh/cut strawberries and add them to her french toast however it was not the same. My breakfast was good, except for the biscuits and gravy, the gravy was not very tasteful. The French toast was DELICIOUS THO. Overall, I would say that our experience was "ok", we will have to come back again and try other food To give it a more accurate review. As far as the prices and portions, they were average as any other breakfast place in our community, for the we ordered including 2 coffees we paid $53, but its usually what we pay at other places. read more

The ambiance hasn't changed. Laid back Oky. Service was good. The menu has changed with fewer selections. My wife and I split a chilli cheese omelette. The omelette had no seasoning.
