Arthur's Coffee Shop in La Habra was such a great find. We were visiting the antique store in the same plaza. We were not hungry. But that did not stop us. We needed to use the bathroom and decided to eat a late lunch. My boyfriend ordered the French toast with bacon and eggs, and everything came out hot and perfectly cooked. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with melted Jack cheese on toasted sourdough cut into 3 triangles and it was honestly one of the best sandwiches I've had. It was simple, topped with lettuce, tomatoe and pickle on the side. The grilled chicken was very thin, the way I like it. Add onions to make it better. What really stood out was the service. We arrived about 15 minutes before closing, and the staff was still welcoming, kind, and never rushed us. That alone says a lot. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area. Everything is about $15-$20 a plate. They sell Pepsi. Which means Dr. P.

Breakfast for 2 (January 2026)

The last time I ate here was about nine years ago. My girlfriend and I decided to give this place a try and I'm actually glad we did. The portions are decent, but in my original review, I claimed that the portions were huge. I ordered the ham steak and eggs with hashbrowns and toast. The portion is plentiful, but I wouldn't say it's overwhelmingly huge. It was plenty of food for breakfast and I was full for most of the day. The service is good, my coffee was refilled a few times, but items are made to order so be prepared to wait. We came on a Wednesday and I believe we were there for over an hour. So if you're in a hurry, this probably isn't a place to go. I still won't say it's the best breakfast I ever had, but it has improved since my original experience nine years ago. I would go back again..

Omg the crispy hashbrowns are on another level!! I'm obsessed!

Can't believe today was my first time dining at Arthur's! Someone mentioned new management took over, and while I can't compare it to before, I can honestly say it's one of the best breakfast diners I've tried. The crispy hash browns were my favorite! Honestly, no one makes them quite like this! The hot link was juicy, flavorful, and definitely not your average sausage. Coffee was perfectly brewed (not burnt at all ), and my friend's country fried steak with gravy and biscuits looked so good that I'm getting it next time. The pancakes were okay, but those biscuits? Amazing. Fluffy, buttery, and worth the trip alone. The place is bigger than I expected and cozy, family-oriented, and feels like one of those classic mountain-town breakfast spots in Big Bear. Total gem and a local favorite since the 1960s. My new go-to breakfast spot in OC!

Old school diner everything was delicious, service was fast and friendly! Glad we gave it a try!

Inside of diner

I came to this place on a slow Sunday, and was not greeted by staff right away. Which is fine enough whatever. I was sat down, and shortly after place my order. When my food was delivered I wasn't given any utensils. I waited for staff to return and give them to me but nobody ever came. I had to get up myself and grab them from the table at the front door. The waitress never checked on me to see if I needed anything else (which I did). Overall the food was good and the portions are great that's why I gave it 4 stars, but the customer service could use improvement.

Nostalgic, Local, classic, no frills coffee shop. Older interior. The service is one of the things that makes it feel welcoming. Thank you Sabrina for the great service! My favorites lemon curd pancakes and O'Brien potatoes.

Lemon Curd Buttermilk Pancakes and Chilaquiles with red and green sauce

Loved the Lemon Curd Pancakes. The bacon and eggs were cooked perfectly. My husband enjoyed his Chilaquiles which he ordered with half red and half green sauce so that he could try both. Service was excellent. Looking forward to our next visit.

This place has changed throughout the years. What made my visit great was my server named Sabrina. She really took care of us throughout the whole time we were there. She was very attentive to us and always checked in. She needs a promotion!! This place is a family friendly place where people bring their families to eat breakfast or lunch. I would recommend the country fried steak and also the hashbrowns. Those are two really good items.

Our first time here. We used Yelp and we tried it. We walked in and nobody was at the front desk. We had to wait for someone to FINALLY notice we were there. Hubby wasn't pleased. We sat they brought the menu and coffee. Our waitress was pleasant. She refilled our coffee once. The food was good we especially liked the hash browns, crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. My polish sausage was a bit overcooked and a little dry. My husband liked the O'Brien potatoes and his Denver omelette. It was crowded, normal noise, cute decor throughout.

Monday morning busy! Arrive at 9am and there was a bit of a wait. Which wasn't a problem. The place was clean and quaint. The orange juice was tasty, lightly sweet just the way I like it. My friend and I split the green chilaquiles. Which I'm glad we did because it's a lot of food. We both had a decent size plate. They split it at no extra cost which we appreciated. They chilaquiles were a bit spicy but flavorful. Our server was great as well. We will be back!

Denver Omelette

We like coming here for their casual comfort food. Their breakfasts are huge, you won't leave here hungry! I really love the Arthur's OJ- it's a protein boosted orange juice that reminds me of an Orange Julius! Can't go wrong with their omelettes, they are so cheesy and filling with your choice of potatoes and two fluffy pancakes (or toast or the best biscuits with gravy)! Country fried steak and eggs is delicious with their homemade gravy. Service is quick and friendly as you would expect from a homey, country-like diner.

A little gem in La Habra . Went on a Sunday and was not too busy so they sat me down right away. The pancakes were really really good and it came with sausage and bacon or you can get all sausage or all bacon and coffee. One thing I like about cafés is your pancakes and their coffees and 10 out of 10! Another thing I really liked about this place. It feels like you're at your grandma's house back in the days . There was a lot of people with their kids or their spouses not too loud in there . Customer service was great very attentive. Definitely will be coming back.

Their food is awesome!!! They closed at 1:30pm though. Their service is awesome so polite and quick. Inside is very clean and old american style of restaurant. Bit of vintage style restaurant. Food is so delicious ~~

Country Benedict (I only ate 1/3) and hash browns. Three giant biscuits! Ham and smothered in gravy.

From the moment we walked through the heavy wooden door (fancy!) until we left- the host, the waitress, server, manager and even the owner were amazingly attentive and welcoming. They also check in to make sure you're having a good time and enjoying your delicious meal. Now for the food: fresh, al dente and tasty. All adjectives you want running through your mind after the first bitesss. We ordered stuffed mushroom- hot and nicely seasoned. Mushrooms not overcooked and stuffing not overly cheesy. The shrimp linguine another hit with fresh tomatoes and jumbo shrimp with a nice snap. The light seasoning with lots of garlic was just perfect. We also ordered the beef short ribs. My friend said it melted on her mouth and the fresh mash potatoes- just right. Did I mention the portions were huge! Lots of goodies to take with us. To add to the dining experience we watched as patrons steadily came and went throughout the evening. You can tell this is a favorite for many. There were High-5s, handshakes and lots of "Welcome back friends!" Just an overall beautifully decked out neighborhood restaurant with so much heart and soul. I heard that the restaurant has been handed down from their grandparents... I'm sure they would be very proud. Highly recommend.

A weekend brunch with friends brought me to Madre's Whittier, where the menu offered plenty of tempting options--and a few unexpected lessons about ordering seafood. I tried the Ensenada Omelet, loaded with shrimp, salmon, crab, and octopus. Now, I'm a seafood lover, but octopus and I aren't exactly close friends. I asked if it could be removed, but since the seafood mix is pre-made, the octopus had already RSVP'd to the party. The omelet was good, topped with a creamy sauce, but not something I'd order again. The crab appeared to be imitation crab, and while everything was prepared well, it just wasn't a standout for me. The real star? The strawberry pancakes. Delicious! Next time, I'd order those with a side of eggs and call it a win. I also sampled the chilaquiles, and now that's a dish I'd come back for. The Tiramisu Latte was another favorite--not overly sweet and packed with that classic tiramisu flavor I love. A special shoutout to our waitress, Annie, who was attentive, friendly, and made our brunch experience even better. My Verdict: Skip the Ensenada Omelet and build your brunch around the stars of the menu instead. The strawberry pancakes are the must-order item, the chilaquiles are a strong savory choice, and the Tiramisu Latte ties everything together. If you order wisely, Madre's delivers a brunch worth coming back for.

I've never been disappointed in the quality of the fish on those Fridays I go, especially after they updated the breading to be a more seasoned and crunchy variety. That being said, I've sometimes been disappointed by the service at the usual location I go to as sometimes it's taken ages to get my next piece going and onto my table. There's been more than one occasion where I'll finish a piece and the next one will take 5-10 minutes to get to me. At this location the waitress was awesome enough to get the next piece going well before I'd even started on my current piece. She even had two in the pipeline instead of just the one that I thought was standard practice. As always, the ambience was cool here. It matches every other location I've been to. I think I like the area better. It's part of a much larger shopping area than the my normal spot, but it's well away from the freeway, which means you're getting less of that road weary crowd and more of the people who want to be there. I don't know how often I'll be going to this location because it's kind of far from home, but it's nice to know there are alternatives when I'm feeling like 5-6 pieces of fish and have grown weary of average service elsewhere. Good service is a nice bonus and this one has that in spades over its sister spots.
