The only Artigiano location that ever slips, in my opinion. The coffee itself is usually reliable, but for whatever reason the staff here don't seem to be the pick of the litter: the cashier is usually flaky and slow, and the manager (?) is often visibly cranky. Owing to its central Coal Harbour location, this place is extremely popular with the business crowd, and often has lineups out the door in the AM. That's not necessarily a bad thing, provided it moves quickly, but that's usually not the case here. Sina and the staff there are excellent, the quality is excellent and consistent. I am there a couple times a week and they know exactly what I want and how I want it. It is great to see consistent staff at this particular location! Best cappuccino outside of Italy! This is at the Thurlow at Pender Location downtown. Soy Latte was good. liked the ambience and the closeness to hotel and convention center. Butter croissant is a total failure and overpriced. Very hard and doesn't taste fresh (not crispy at all). Great cappuccino - SUPER friendly folks making really really good coffees. We had latte, cappuccino, and iced coffee - all perfect.

My husband and I stayed in a hotel just around the corner from this cafe. We noticed loads and loads of people lining up (or should I say queueing up) to order...even saw Vancouver Fire and Rescue park their fire truck on a busy street to visit this place. Figured the place had to be doing something right. We did enjoy morning coffee and a light breakfast. Service is quick even with the crowds. We arrived just before a big rush and were able to sit and relax. The 5 stars is for our coffee and my bagel with smoked salmon and cream cheese. My husband's lemon blueberry muffin was decent and not too sweet. I'm Australian and the one thing we do well at home is make coffee. Lattes in Australia are creamy and frothy and the coffee is almost never bitter. This is something I have to search high and low for her. So when I'm in the mood for a really decent latte I know that Artigiano is the place to go. The coffee is fantastic. I'm a soy drinker and I find that soy milk can taste really wrong at some coffee shops, but here I barely notice the difference. The only reason I knocked them down to a four star is because their muffins aren't overly fresh. I tried one the other day and it tasted like it might have been a day old. read more

The good: Nice decor, Classy jazz music. Has all the makings of a good relaxing enviro. The Bad: Burnt cappuccino. No barrista froth decoration, Slightly pricer given the size of cup, compared to others in the area. You literally will be done in 3 sips. No Wifi. Closes Early. Was disappointing overall, so with caffeine already in my belly I went... A block down to Waves Coffee House. They have better more consistent capps/lattes (been here 3 times already). Bigger cup sizes for the money. Unique flavors like Lavender. Barrista froth for added attention to detail. They even have nice touches like including a dark chocolate square with your order. And they have Wifi for me to post this review, and are open later to boot. Big windows to peer out into the street. Go to Artigiano for the decor. Go to Waves for the Coffee. read more

We decided we didn't want to eat breakfast at the overpriced hotel restaurant, so we wandered around the corner and stumbled upon this little place. We both ordered one of their omelettes, which also comes with toast. My omelette was a little overdone, but still tasty. The guy who took our order at the counter was really friendly, but the girl who rang us up could have used a hug...or maybe some Valium...she was a smidge crabby. In any case, I highly doubt this is the best breakfast in all of Vancouver but it got us fueled up for a good day of sightseeing. read more

We stopped in here at the end of February as it was near our hotel and we had just made the 2.5 hour drive up from Seattle. The cafe was pretty full and the staff really nice. The sandwich we ordered was decent and the hot chocolate looked great...but didn't taste that way. It actually didn't taste like much of anything. Seriously, a packet of Swiss Miss would have had more flavor. Don't get me wrong, I'm totally in favor of my handcrafted beverage looking handcrafted with a nice little artistic leaf pattern in the foam. But, I would rather they sacrifice aesthetics in favor of my beverage tasting like something more than foamy hot water. read more

Found the food and coffee mediocre at best. Found myself wishing I'd gone to the Starbucks across the street. Coffee looked beautiful but lacked aroma and flavour. Wrap looked delicious but was tasteless - not very fresh, like it was from yesterday. All based on one visit. YMMV. read more

they got the coffee mixed up! Gave me drip coffee instead of the mocha I originally ordered. When I went back to have them correct it, no apologies given and instead of making a new mocha they take my drip coffee and turn it into mocha that tasted 95% drip coffee and 5% mocha. Waste of time and money. Will never visit again! read more

This spot is always busy, with queues regularly pouring onto the sidewalk. The coffee here is consistently good, as is the service. They try hard to evoke an older, European vibe with the dark wooden floors. If possible, avoid coming here before nine as it routinely turns into a business enclave for the finance set who work in neighbouring buildings read more

Ahhhh... lazy mornings in coffee Artigiano are my favourite! Having tried Starbucks, Elysian, etc I've found Caffe Artigiano to be the most consistent. Whether it be Spanish lattes, mocha's or just an espresso, they have always hit the spot for me. The service is pretty decent and the one or two times I have occasionally tried food it has been respectable too. Good atmosphere, good times and a great way to start off the day. read more

Was running to the seaport and stopped in quickly to grab an OJ and a muffin to go. Both were okay.

Pretty decent coffee. The location is quite convenient for the people working in the nearby offices which explains the type of crowd that visits the place. It was very warm and stuffy when I was there. There was also a queue which cleared up pretty quickly as their service was pretty quick. The bad thing about this place is that there is no free wifi which is quite a bummer if you're looking to do some work there. I would suggest getting a drink and leaving as the space is quite limited. read more

Coffee is gross. Don't come here for meetings or to socialize cause the staff never stop clowning around and acting like kids. One girl has a laugh that is so loud it trumps all conversation and the music. The location on Hornby by the Art Gallery is much better atmosphere wise. Staff aren't clowns and talking so much to one another. read more

Stopped by for a quick lunch during peak hours before an exhibition at the new Convention Center. Place was absolutely packed, longest queue I've seen in a cafe type place ever, snaking from the door to the far corner of the room where you pay. Moves fairly quickly though and they bring out your food quite fast also. Had the leg of lamb panini which was pretty flavourful, and not too dry. Would have scored a 4th star for being solidly competent under such busy conditions except they had trouble processing the fact i wanted to order an iced tea. Told me it wouldn't be on the drink menu until the summer. So I asked for a hot tea, with a cup of ice cubes on the side (I like unsweetened tea). Still didn't register as to what i wanted. So I said it again more slowly and used my hands to illustrate how I'd pour the hot tea over the ice cubes. Tried not to be a prick, but I didn't see how this was rocket science. She said she didn't know if that would taste okay. I said no problem. She motioned for a guy at the counter to specially make this for me, with an expression that kind of said, "yeah, really, that's what this guy wants" and I eventually got a cup with tea poured over ice cubes. Is there a special iced tea that I don't know about that they make during the summer? read more

I had been going to Starbucks for 6 straight days for my Americano. Decided I wanted to try to find another option. Heard Koffie on West Pender was good but it was closed for Reno. On the way back, I stopped by Artigiano, sounds like it should be good. It was pretty busy. Either they ordered something better because my Americano was subpar compared to Starbucks or other Americanos I have had. The weird thing was the drink actually tasted similar to the machine produced Americano at my car dealership when i service my car. Too bad but my search continues for that perfect Americano in downtown Vancouver. read more

If you're like me and could take a caffeine IV, you would. I really don't care for fancy coffees and designs but Artigiano has the strongest and most flavourful coffee I've found so far. If you need a kickstart and Starbucks is getting long in the tooth then try Artigiano! read more

Loved this place! Ate there 2 mornings in a row. I forgot the name of what I got, but It was a breakfast sandwich with scrambled eggs, bacon, tomato, lettuce and bacon. It was heated up on a press. DELICIOUS! Worth going out of your way to get this!! read more
