Artisan Air was recommended to us by family friend and now I need to give a big thanks to our friend as well. We had such a great experience. It is a bummer when your 20 year old HVAC goes out in the middle of winter, but having someone come out and take care of you during a time like that is such a relief. Our Carbon Monoxide detectors starting going off, which really indicated a serious problem. Ed came out and explained the issues with our furnace in detail and gave us options of repair vs replacement and the various replacement options. We elected to go with a hybrid Gas/Electric/Heat Pump system. The quote was fair, I mean this stuff is expensive, but we knew the ball park costs going in and the quote was reasonable. Ed helped us figure out how to make sure we had the right hook-ups, venting location and place in the house for a new air intake port that could work in our 80 year-old house with the least intrusive modifications. Luis and Devon came out to do the work. It was a 2 day process and they were friendly, knowledgeable and pleasant to be around. If someone is going to be in your house for 2 days it is always great to have them be nice people, which they were. Cody came out to assess our heater, because it stopped working. As always he was right on time at the start of the timeframe he told us. He identified the problem and haphazard issues from the initial installation from a previous contractor, which resulted in a gas leak, we did not detect due to the unit is located in the attic. He secured the gas leak, ordered parts and Luis came the next day to install the new part, repair the faulty pipe, even cleaned up debris that was left behind when our roof was replaced. I changed out my 30 year old furnace with a heat pump. Not only was the price the most competitive, but Art's heating and cooling were absolutely fantastic to work in terms of customer support and addressing follow ups. examples: The county inspector came and Art's showed up a full hour before and waited outside until the inspector showed up. The inspector told me that most vendors don't even show up and he really appreciated the quality of their work. I also had some additional follow up things they were pretty big "asks" i made of them and even when it incurred more costs to them and was "not their fault", they went out of their way to accommodate and make sure we were happy. By the way, estimate just slightly more than an estimate I had from another HVAC company but Artisan highlighted efficiencies and correction from original builder. Technician diagnosed my wireless control not working for my 2 zone HVAC system. He quoted me $1500 to replace the Honeywell wireless controller & damper. This is wrong. My second diagnosis from another HVAC company found NO problem with the wireless controller. The second HVAC company only need to correct wiring issue & system worked fine. Artisan technician told me the wireless controller cannot connect to my remote sensor. That was wrong. How can Artisan technician does not know how to reset and reconnect the remote to the controller! This is either incompetent or lie about the problem. This company also has mandatory charge of $75 for just diagnose problem which they cannot find. This is a company to avoid. read more

I called on Monday to request an appointment. I spoke to Cody. He told me the next available appointment was Fri. I wasn't in a hurry so agreed. He said he'd call if anything opened up. After getting confused and overwhelmed by a wide range of quotes from 7 other vendors, I found artisan air on the BayRen website and called for a quote. I wanted a higher efficiency furnace and cleaner air than my 1984 furnace provided, but was not willing to commit to more expensive and complicated heat pump systems and costly duct replacement. Artisan air owner, Cody, spent considerable time answering all of my questions. cody suggested a 96% efficiency unit that qualifies for a federal efficiency rebate at a reasonable cost. Cody also suggested an affordable uv light air scrubber and a high efficiency 5" filter. exposed duct work was sealed and re-insulated to reduce air leakage. work was done timely at a reasonable cost. I could not be happier with the new system, especially the improved air quality. Quote clearly spelled out equipment, work to be performed, and equipment and labor warranties. first year service visit is also included in cost. work was timely and efficient, and communication was great. It's a rare pleasure to find a company managed by a highly experienced owner who truly cares about the work they do and has a top notch team to get the job done to the highest level. We installed a state of the art fuel pump system with two zones, both with hospital level HEPA air filtration added for when there is smoke in the air. We have a 1930's home with very small crawl spaces which made this project very complicated. We also didn't want to see any of the typical heat pump units in our house. Artisan needed to run duct work throughout the house. Other highly recommended competitors said "it can't be done". Well, Artisan showed that not only can it be done but they did it seamlessly. Also, the little things, they carefully prepared the house each morning and wore booties and went the extra mile to make sure everything was done at the highest level. I called Artisan Air Heating and Cooling on Sat during a very cold spell we were having and during a holiday weekend. Most companies were so busy that they didn't even return my calls. But Cody was very responsive even though he too was swamped with calls. He came out the next morning as promised and made some adjustments to the furnace so that it would start up again. I got some further information that my furnace is getting old and would need replacement soon. First of all Thank You Yelp Community, I had a closet Furnace in my house since I moved in the house in 1984 it was here already and over the years my Good Friend would always stop by and repair or replace parts. My Good friend is no longer with us. Moving forward to 2020 in Late November my heater went out so I went to the Yelp App and there you were Yelpers. I seen Artisain Air Heating and Cooling, I read the Reviews and looked at every photo and Noticed the detailed workmanship. I called Artisan spoke with Cody we made the appointment Cody came out checked the Closet furnace , trouble shouted the issue and said I can repair the unit no problem however this Whirlpool Furnace is no longer made. I looked on line before he came and knew it was a museum piece. Cody and I talked about a couple of options and I KNEW HE WAS THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THE JOB.....Why you might ask. Cody is Straight forward, Honest and could of repaired it for under $200.00 however talking to him he showed me and explained that in 1952 when the house was built they used asbestos to wrap the heating duct work. So I had money saved up and we opted for the Compete upgrade using the Attic for the Furnace and I bought a new A/C unit and also a HEPA filtration system with Charcoal filter and UV lights. Cody penciled me in for the complete package and he said it will take 4-5 days. Artisain crew came at 8:30 to 3:30 every day until the job was finished. Cody , Ramsey and a apprentice was very professional and cleaned up before they left every day. The asbestos is gone too. My PG&E bill went from $244.66 in the winter and $175.00 in the summer using Fans now it's Reasonable as far as monthly bills. I use my air conditioner on Warm day and the Fan system with the HEPA filtration system EVERY NIGHT and my PG&E bill never got over $160.00 in the Heat of the summer with A/C running and the HEPA filtration system at night. Artisain Air Heating and Cooling is very professional. My Son was so impressed with the job he scheduled the exact same system for his house.
