Luis helped set us up with a new Heat pump from Gree in our home in San Ramon. The quotes were very competitive and the installation process of removing old furnace/AC and replacing with Heat pump was fast. I got quotes in mid July and install in couple of weeks. The units been working good as AC in summer and have been recently using in Winter and seems to be ok ( Heatpumps are supposedly more slower, but seems my 30 year old gas furnace wasn't that efficient so for me the Heat pump performance is acceptable in Winter) The only nit pick in the process would be about the permitting , which seems as they were busy were in back burner and seems after city & Villquin back and forths took till December to complete. Underutilizing the power of yelp I decided to give the Contrator estimate platform a shot. Several contractors replied but the level of responsiveness , consistency and communication of Villquin stood out. Beto showed up for my estimate about his business. He had no big sales pitch , no fluff , no nonsense simply asked a few questions , asked to see the product I needed installed , walked the house with me, asked a few more questions about where I wanted things installed and positioned and said ok that's it I'll have your estimate shortly. I left the property and came back about 20 mins later and he had stayed there taking precise measurements and notes. I thought to myself now this guy is about his business, I liked that . Other guys that showed up mumbled a few things , stayed 5 mins and through out some verbal numbers and rushed off, not Beto, I could tell he was very detailed and put in work from the very beginning. That also stood out from the rest. His bid arrived about 48 hrs later. It was detailed , automated and his bookkeeping system was on point to I also liked that. His bid was reasonable and I knew he would get in and "get it done" without babysitting , problems, hassles or "hey we didn't realize this " half way through the job so it's going to be a little more" . I had 3 mini split system being added to a 141 yr old house that if you touch the wrong thing the wrong way you'll open a can of worms. No problem for Beto and his brother ! Much of the work was opening walls and under the house a job no one wants to do and they did it like it was just another day. Not one time did they come to me with problems or complaints they went in and handled their business got the job done in 3 days and a couple of those days where 10 hrs days and in the rain. Given Covid, Progressively longer hotter temperatures and the smokes from the fire, I decided to go with central AC with a Air Purifier. As with any contracting job, I requested quotes from a few people; Even the top of yelp recommended companies. The quotes came in +/- within 10% but I found Villquin to be honest and straightforward without being pushy on additional things (Change vent size, Add a concrete pad). I called them on their quote and they came in 2 days later; Finished the job and were super professional. Cleaned after, no mess and gave me an update on everything. Finished the job within a day. Honestly, I would say these guys were the best contracting job I've had among all the other jobs being done at the house (Plumbing, electrical, etc). We needed an install of a ductless mini split system AC but we're getting priced double the amount of the actual unit until we found Luis and his brother. They came out and quoted us half the cost of what we were priced by someone else and once we agreed they came out the next day to install. They did an excellent job, not only did they do the install but they made it very clean! We had originally purchased the unit with a defect and the previous install had cut holes in the wall and made a mess but Luis and his brother did a great job fixing the other guys mess and even patched up the hole.
