First time visiting here today. Overall staff was very nice, fast service. They were very busy so not really many seats available. Coffee and drinks were very good. Food was good. While staying overnight in Akron, OH - I needed an afternoon caffeine fix and found Artisan Coffee using Yelp. What a cool place! Very open - lots of seating! The place had a warm, welcoming, relaxing vibe. I chatted with the young lady making my espresso drink while - about the place. She was very nice and answered what questions she could. I ordered a double shot espresso macchiato - to drink in - so they served it in one of their cups. I sat for a bit and enjoyed it. Very good espresso! What a hidden gem in the Ellet area! I can't believe I've never been here, but thanks to my sweet friends Ray and Oliver, I am a proud inductee of Artisan Coffee. I cannot yet speak for the pastries and other food, but they do a tremendous job with the pour-overs. You just have to be a little patient, because a good pour-over takes some time to squeeze every bit of coffee juice out of those beans! Clean, cozy, and comfortable space. I really enjoyed this venue and I promise I'll be back. I really have a 'thing' for soup and word on the street is that their homemade soups are pretty darn delicious. read more

There is nothing bad to say about this coffee shop and I am a coffee fanatic. The coffee and espresso is beautifully brewed, the syrups are better than most other places I've had most likely because they make them in house! The food is on the more expensive side but it's well worth it. All of the staff is cheerful and they work great together. Even though I don't go as frequently as I'd like, Daniel and DaKayla are always so sweet and accommodating! The atmosphere is comfortable and there are different vibes to choose from. If you want a semi private space, there is the concrete counter top to sit at. If you want to feel like you're at home, the couches by the fireplace are nice to sit at. If you're having dinner or studying or working or even doing your taxes there, there is seating for you to spread out at. I can't say enough good things about this little spot. read more

Every time I visit Artisan the locally made baked items tempt me. They, too, are a work of art. The rustic look and feel makes for a casual and calming environment. Artisan uses a beautiful, and BIG, La Marzocco GB5 espresso machine and roasts their own beans an elegant Diedrich IR Series machine. Great local coffee spot. Full coffee menu with all the staples. They even have something called cascara, which is basically tea made from the berries of the coffee plant. They have a limited selection of food as well, which in my experience has been very good. Not just run of the mill food. Food & coffee are very good and the ambiance and atmosphere just put a cherry on top. Great place to hang out, get work done, meet with friends, read a book. They have a cozy fireplace with couches, more traditional tables & chairs. I could spend hours here and feel comfortable. read more

Went today and had meal type food for the very first time at Artisans. You think that having been here so many times I would have ventured to try a sammich or salad right? To be honest, I was skeptical. I am the type of guy that thinks you should stick to something and do it with all the gusto you have. The have the coffee and pastries down, why rock the boat? Well folks, these people not only rock the coffee and pastries, they rock the soup and sammies too! I got the BBQ pulled pork sammie on GF (gluten free) bread! SMOMM (sweet mother of monkey milk), this thing rocked my world. First, their GF bread is the shiznick with special sauce. Soft yet durable and it tastes like real bread! Next, on this sammie of wonderfulness you have this amazing coleslaw. Not the crap you get at the deli....no no, this cole slaw has color and isn't drenched in a disgustingly sweet Mayo substance. It is crunchy and flavorful. Then, they pile it high with moist and tender pulled pork and top it with the most AMAZING homemade BBQ sauce. PRAISE THE LORD AND PASS THE RECIPE. This BBQ sauce is tangy and flavorful with just a hint of sweetness. I told the dude they need to bottle this stuff up. It would be an amazing salad dressing too! Instead of chips with my sammie, I got soup. Their sausage, kale and white bean to be exact. The broth in this soup is quite fantastic. I love the textures too! The sausage is tender and perfectly bite size. The flavor of the sausage is not overpowering either which is nice. Beans are cooked perfectly with just a slight bite. No mushy beans thank you! Plenty of green kale to make my tummy and immune system happy happy. Once again Artisan, you've exceeded my expectations. I was a food server and understand - I always tip 20% good or bad service - if great service then more But if I'm doing the serving? Artisan is the best coffee shop I've ever been to, hands down- and I don't even drink coffee. Their menu offers a wide array of hot non-coffee drinks, like my favorite, the amazing caramel apple cider, and hot chocolate. They get creative with their coffee drinks too, offering French toast latte, for example. Along with coffee and pastries, Artisan has a kitchen that prepares delicious soups and sandwiches. Not to mention, we buy our coffee beans from here now to make our homemade espresso. $60 for 5 pounds may sound like a lot, but it goes a long way and it doesnt compare to the brands available at grocery story. Five Stars. I did not expect such a cozy and cute cafe here while visiting Akron over the weekend. One thing I loved and stood out was how big this place was. Well, coming from NYC and NJ area, I don't find any cafes as spacious as this cafe. There were plenty of tables, a huge meeting room that can be reserved, board games, good selection of specialty drinks, and food. I got cafe mocha and lavender tea latte. I was told that they make their own syrups and they are not too sweet. And they weren't. Score. Cafe mocha was the least sweet I've had, which I liked. I was a little puzzled when the sizes of small cafe mocha and medium lavender tea latte were the same. The only downside is that my mug was chipped on the edges. Also, when I finished my drink, I saw cracks on the bottom of the mug. I will be returning back tomorrow to try their espresso and other specialty drinks. The coffee is unbeatable, the food is fresh and tasty, and the atmosphere is peaceful and spacious. And of course I can't fail to mention the INCREDIBLE staff. Stopped in here for the first time on Saturday morning for a beverage to go. This was my first ever visit and I was very impressed by the decor inside. It's very cozy and everything is clean and organized. The staff were very friendly and gave a minute to look at the menu board. They have many of your average coffee shop drinks. I didn't see food on the menu but I wasn't looking for it either. I noticed they had some brownies in a display case on the counter so there's stuff to eat but I'm not sure what all they have yet. I'll have to go back and find out. Because it was the big game between Ohio State and _ichigan, they were featuring a special drink called the buckeye mocha or something like that so I ordered it in size large for $4.75. I let it cool a while before drinking it and when I tasted it, I was pleasantly surprised. I cannot tell you how happy I am that it wasn't just a coffee flavored sugar bomb like you'd expect from Starbucks. This had real roasted peanut flavor, a hint of chocolate, and a smoothness you would expect from artisan style coffee. I really enjoyed my drink and it is the main reason I will be back to Artisan Coffee. I'm really hoping this place sticks around for a long time. Like almost everyone in the Ellet area, I'm tired of seeing places pop into this building for a year or less and then go out of business. read more

This building/location went through a couple restaurants prior to landing to the current cafe and I'm so glad about this. The cafe is a really nice surprise, serving great coffee from a friendly staff. I enjoy the mugs they use. The chairs are eclectic and some take you back to high school. There is a fireplace with couches surrounding it, a separate room with a door, and a platform perhaps for poetry night or bands. This will be my go to coffee place every time I'm visiting relatives in akron. read more
