This place is amazing with A+++ customer service. Camille is great - I was new to lashes and didn't know what to expect. She was so kind and helpful. She walked me through the process before we began and continued to let me know what was coming next. I got the XWraps the first time- full set - and was blown away with the look. I've gotten compliments left and right from friends, co-workers, even people right off the street! I typically do not wear makeup so the XWraps were a great choice that Camille helped me choose. It made it look like I did my makeup even when I didn't. Also love the customer service! I was getting some irritation before my next refill on one of my eyes and decided I should give my lashes a rest before getting them done again. I texted the number and asked if I could switch my next appt from a refill to a removal and the following appt I had booked from a refill to a full set. They made the change without batting an eye! When I came in Camille took a close look at what was irritating me, removed all my lashes and gave it an extra good cleaning just in case. They even comped my removal. One day I was getting a Groupon hair service and I got a little too overzealous in my self-care endeavors. I ended up walking out of there with some lashes (upsold like a sucker). Unfortunately, the lashes weren't amazing and they didn't last that long. I decided to come to Artisan as the meh lashes started to come off unevenly (as they do). Thankfully, Artisan will fill from other salons and they were super helpful in determining what I wanted. I got lashes that fit my needs a lot better. The other lashes were too long and stiff instead of full and soft. I am totally in love with this place. I come here a lot. Lashes are worth it all. It's great because their system is so efficient and comfortable. They are right next to a parking garage, you go in and your lashes are going to take a full hour (unless you booked longer). You lay on an extremely comfortable bed/table and they start to tape you for the lash procedure. Sometimes you chat and sometimes you sleep BUT you always emerge as the butterfly from her cocoon with fluffy lash wings to flutter around for several weeks spreading love and joy across the Bay Area! The artist here was more than accommodating and super professional. I really appreciated her attention to detail with my eyelashes. The technical application of the lashes was great -- very accurately done. My main complaint is that the pads they used for the under eye were quite painful when coming off. The stickers took some of my skin when peeling off, and I actually still have puffiness and scabbing under my eyes a few days later. I have painful dark red patches near the corners and beneath my eyes that I can't cover completely with makeup. I would recommend they invest in gel pads or something gentler. I don't have particularly sensitive skin and have never had an issue with these stickers at other salons (been getting lashes for 3+ years), so the issue could be the technique that the stylist used to remove them -- not holding down the skin enough and just ripping off. I also did end up having the eyelashes removed the next day, but I don't blame the stylist for me not liking the lashes, since it was a miscommunication. The standard curl ordering goes J curl (almost flat) followed by B curl (natural curl) followed by C curl (eyelash curler look) followed by D (diva look). During the consultation, I was told that they had B curls in stock. Unfortunately what they actually had was J curl, but that was not communicated to me until I asked a few extra questions after they had already started application. They only had J and C, and C is more similar to B than J, so I chose C. I knew the lash length that looked good on me corresponding to B curl lashes, but since we ended up using C instead, the same length looked totally different (and a bit ridiculous). This is my fault for specifying a length for B curl and expecting it to look good on C curl, and I don't blame them for it. The only other issue I have is that I asked for a natural look, but they used a thick diameter (.18 or so?) instead of the typical .15 for a classic set, which also probably contributed to the lashes looking so unnatural on me. If I'd been asked, I would have said to use the thinnest available (.11 or .13 since I have very fine hair and lashes). It didn't occur to me to clarify the diameter since I already asked for a natural look. I went the next morning to have them removed at a different salon, which was a bit of a shame because of how expensive they were. But I was in pretty excruciating pain from the sticker removal taking my skin with it, so the lash removal stylist had to deal with my eyes watering through the removal, and I was in a lot of pain just due to any contact with the area. Showering has been painful as well due to the stinging under and around my eyes, and like I said, I still have a little puffiness and scabbing around my eyes three days later that makeup won't fix. EDIT: Updated 3 stars to 5 stars. Melissa reached out to me to let me know that they are addressing the under eye tape issue so it won't happen to other clients. She even gave me a refund. Ive had my lashes done a couple times before and needed to find a new place to get them done (as I was not completely satisfied at other places). Decided to check this place out and let me tell y'all I was not disappointed! The staff is very professional and welcoming. They make you feel very comfortable while you're there. I was very excited/nervous but they made me feel relaxed. The place is so cute and chic. It makes you feel so calm. My technician was Marylin and she was so sweet and professional. She was very gentle with me; gave me some wonderful tips on how too clean them and what to clean them with. Im pretty active and workout almost everyday (and not just a simple perspiration) so I was a little concerned as to how long they were gonna stay curled. Believe the hype, eyelashes make everything better! I was referred to Artisan Eyelashes by a friend and was not disappointment at all. The entire staff was extremely professional and welcoming. I was a little nervous at first but all my fears went away immediately after walking through the door. My stylist started with a thorough explanation of what was going to happen during the appointment and walked me through the different looks of lashes I could do. I decided on a natural look and my eyes have never looked better. The entire salon is beyond adorable and comfortable. My stylist continued to check in with me to make sure I was doing ok and still comfortable in the space. When my appointment ended my stylist recommended products to me to protect my lashes and made sure to explain products to avoid to keep the lashes perfect. The beds were really comfortable, the music was pleasant, overall it was a really great experience! I got my lashes done by Melissa for the Miss California USA 2020 Competition last weekend and I am so glad that I did! First of all, my lashes lasted through the entire 4 days of rehearsals, events, photoshoots, interviews, prelims and finals and they are still looking amazing a whole week later! My name is Libby and I have been going to Artisan Eyelashes since April 2019. I can not recommend my girl Marylin enough. I originally came to get eyelash extensions for my trip to Cuba and not only did my lashes hold up beautifully when I was doing voluntary farm work under the humid heat, they cut my makeup routine down in half! I am a group exercise instructor and teach multiple high intense classes six days a week, and my lashes last and still look great despite all the sweating I do. I also have year round allergies and have had no problems with my retaining my lashes. Marylin always makes sure to double prime and double bond my extensions to make sure they last through all my wear and tear. I flew in from LA with a fresh refill that was irritating one eye. I went to see them and the owner and several technicians consulted me on how to clean my lashes properly and reduce the swelling. Rachel did my lashes last Tuesday, and I have been getting compliments right and left. I cannot say enough nice things about her, and about the beautiful job she did on my eyes. A week later, everything is perfectly in place, and my eyes have never looked so pretty. Even my mom (a no-makeup, earth mama) was curious about getting lash extensions after seeing how natural and beautiful my eyes look. Love this place. It's elegant and welcoming. Melissa's my girl! She makes my lashes look fab with lash extensions. I get compliments all the time. I just let most people think they are natural, she does such a great job you can't tell! But I send her my peeps (u know, my friends in the circle of trust). I lay there and while she works (you have to keep your eyes closed while they are applied) I decompress and relax. WORTH IT!!! I'm not the most high maintenance chick on the block when it comes to nails, makeup and hair but I SWEAR by my lashes. I cannot live without them now that I've had them done by Melissa. You can seriously roll out of bed and feel/look instantly pretty. It is the only beauty investment that I can justify the upkeep for! Not to mention- they last forever!
