Jason and the crew did an excellent job on my property trimming/lacing several trees and removing a diseased pepper tree that was approximately 40 feet tall and approximately 4 feet wide at its base. After arriving late for the initial quote, the services were booked. On the day of, we had to explain the work order to the workers again and were late for work. We came home to a broken gazebo which was in perfect condition prior to their services. They did not even disclose the damage but instead attempted to put nails in the roof to reattach a section. I had about 13 large Eucalyptus trees needing to go as they were too close to our and our neighbors homes. The crew showed up as scheduled. Wearing masks. They were respectful of my family and yard and my neighbors. Hector, the main arborist on the crewis an artist. He dropped a very precarious large Eucalyptus near my fence with no issues. The neighbors all stood around watching them work high up. I'd recommend them in a heartbeat! I have no more trees to trim or remove, but they do planting too, so maybe they'll be back. They were great! Sarah came to my house 2x to get quotes. The first was during our remodel and our house was gutted. The second time she came was after we had completed the inside and she was so sweet and thoughtful telling me how great the house looked. She gave me a quote and we scheduled. They were about two weeks out but I was willing to wait because of the service being so great with her and the price being super competitive. Fast forward to two days later. Sarah texts me saying she thinks her crew can make it the next day to complete the work!!!!! What!!! I thought wow she thought of me and could fit us in. I do not recommend this company at all just by the customer service and not honoring a coupon per my experience below. 1. I asked for an estimate for a sick queen palm and was told to send pictures. 2. Sarah told me the issue and gave me a quote when i sent pics. I asked if they still wanted to come in person and no response at all. Wow. 3. Few days later, i decided to call office to schedule with tree removal since i never rec'd. After I booked and deposit info, i was told i would receive the proposal and deposit receipt. Nothing. I called 3 days later and she had my email address wrong. So I gave it again. Nothing. I call again 2 days later and email address was incorrect again! This time I get Melissa. She corrected it 3rd time and sent me proposal. Finally received it. But then she questioned the amount and i told her I received a 20% coupon and that was applied. Oh so if you mention it before the estimate, they will just increase amount and then apply coupon so really the coupon isn't honored. At that point i cancelled the service. I was walking my pup when I saw them working around the corner from my house yesterday. I asked if they could come give me a quote to lace two huge trees, trim one smaller tree and cut down one dead tree. Richard came right over and gave me a quote around half the amount I've paid in the past. Sarah provided a proposal for our house in Oceanside which included a lot of tree trimming and cutting. She told us it would take her crew two days to complete and that she would come out during the job to check with us. The job was supposed to be $6155 but we had a "coupon" which made it $4925. Expensive, but I know they do good work and two days is a lot of labor. After 6 hours her crew was basically finished. Sarah had not appeared. I called her and she told me her crew didn't think she needed to come by. After some wrangling on the phone she changed her mind, said she would cancel some appointments, and come by in an hour. The crew stood by all that time. There were some issues. We needed her input as to what to do. Her crew came back on the property and took care of it in another 45 minutes. They did a great job. But to charge almost $5000 for less than one day's work seems excessive, and I indicated my concern to her, but she made no response. If you want a fine job of trimming and cutting done, Artistic Arbor Gardens is a good resource. But be aware they will exaggerate the job and charge you accordingly. We were willing to pay so much because we understood Sarah to be a certified arborist, and trusted her judgement. She may be better at understanding trees and foliage than she is at estimating the time and cost of the services they provide. Beware. read more

I've used this company a few times now to trim and remove trees - mostly enormous Eucalyptus. Artistic Arbors is always prompt with coming out to give estimates when I call. Some companies take a week or more to call you back, and some never call at all. The women running this place know what they're doing and so do their workers. They are courteous, communicate well, and work their asses off. I highly recommend them, as do most of the neighbors here in the hills. read more

Wow, I can't believe there are even 3 people that actually recommend this company! I scheduled an appointment with GINA for her estimator to come to my house on Wednesday between 12:00 and 1:00pm to give me a quote for trimming my hedge. No one showed up so at 1:30 I finally called Gina and asked her when I might expect her estimator. She heehawed around and finally said she would be at my house in 20/minutes. It was clear she had not put my appointment on the estimator's calendar and the qualified estimator was scheduled elsewhere. So Gina, the office girl who failed to put my appointment on the estimator's calendar, came to give me a quote. When she arrived she spent all of 2/minutes evaluating my hedge and then quickly tossed out a high-end quote. I got nothing in writing and hers was the highest quote I had received. I kindly thanked her for coming but told her I had other quotes that were less than hers so I would probably take one of theirs. She got really huffy (and she was rude to begin with) and as she was leaving the house she repeatedly said "you get what you pay for" (how rude is that?) and she also said repeatedly "our workers are professional and will do a better job than cheaper company's". She was terribly unprofessional and so so so rude. How could she possibly convince anyone that her workers were the best and the most professional when she clearly wasn't? She wasn't even competent enough to ensure that my appointment was on their calendar. When a company can't even show up on time and is so rude BEFORE you've hired them how can you believe or trust that they will be dependable, competent, or do a professional job AFTER you've hired them? Sales rep Sarah Gonzalez did the estimate and assured us our tree removal would be a 1 day maximum job. We come home to find the crew chopped down the trees, then left the yard blanketed with saw dust, and 100% of the trees all over our yard with zero clean up. We were given no heads up that they would extend another day, or they would leave our yard not even walkable. Also, we had potted tomato plants in the yard that were hit as well. They did not bother to assess what in the fall zone would be impacted. If they did, they would have picked them up and moved them. read more

It is really too bad that I had to give them 2 stars because they did the best job on trimming our trees. Their customer service is SO bad. We have 2 large tipu trees (40'+ tall) & they did such a fantastic job lacing & shaping them. We had various gardeners over the years trim them & they looked horrible: bushy & unsymmetrical. I found a coupon for Artistic Arbor Gardens & gave them a call. They gave us a good price & came out that week. They did a great job, however, they missed a few branches that were overlapping each other. I had to call them 3 times to get them to come back. No return call ever, I finally reached someone in their office & they eventually came out to trim the remaining branches. The trees have grown in so nicely & look great. A few months later, we needed our front tree trimmed away from the house because it was blocking our new solar system. I explained exactly what we needed to the lady in the office, but when Melissa came out to give us a quote, she quoted us for lightly trimming both of our trees (since she came 45 min late my husband had to go to work & missed her). I had to call 3 times to get a hold of her to explain exactly what we needed done on the front tree only (after I had explained it to the lady in the office who scheduled the appointment). She assured me that she would come by the next morning & give us a new quote. No quote or call the next day. Called again the 3rd day, left messages & no response. It is really is a shame that they have such a hard time calling customers back & doing what they say they will do. Artistic arbor over trimmed the bushes in our front yard. I had asked Melissa to not have the guys cut into these three bushes if it would expose all the brown underneath. I said it'd be better to leave them than have all the brown showing. I already knew these bushes to be extremely slow growing. Her estimate was considerably high than the other ones I had gotten but she talks a good talk and I hired her crew despite the high price. Six years ago, Artistic Arbor Gardens did a great job trimming and cleaning up a mishmash of oleanders, bottlebrush, Texas privet, pittosporum, etc. beside our house. Last November, I had them come back again for the same area. I was very unhappy with the job they spent almost all day on, but thought I could live with it. Finally, a couple weeks ago, I sent an email with my complaints. The next day, someone came out to look and said that a different crew could come the next week and take care of it. I took her up on it, they came and did everything the way I had wanted it in the first place, and I am once again a happy customer.
