2024 Review! This is…read morethe third year my partner and I have been to the Taste of Roselle! The festival is the first weekend in August every year on Friday evening and all day Saturday/Sunday. They have a mix of food vendors, artisan tents, and carnival rides. There is all live music each evening with 3-4 bands rotating timeslots. The entire event spans on Main Street from Park St to Roselle Rd. Each year we have gone, there have been some consistent food vendors but always some new! They always have Doctor Dogs, Italian Pizza Kitchen, and Pollyanna serving beers, seltzers, and some of Lynfred's wines. The first booth we stopped at was Chicago Culinary Kitchen out of Palatine. Their menu offered a variety of BBQ style sandwiches with unique flavors. My partner got the Pit Beef Sandwich ($17). Forewarning, the horseradish sauce did not disappoint on the spice level and meat was tasty! The second booth we stopped at was Aunt Tina's which offers souther style cuisine. They had a "tasting menu" where all items were $6; I got the mac and cheese as well as cornbread fritters. Mac and Cheese was creamy and hit the spot. The cornbread fritters I would pass in next time.

The other handful or so of booths was handmade soaps/crafts. Not much of a farmer's market. There were also 2 food trucks and 2 other food booths. The nice thing was they had a quite a few high long tables that you could stand and eat at.

There were maybe 5 vendors I'd interact with like discounted Pampered Chef, Tupperware, and shoulder massages. However there were about 10 vendors I walked by and tried not to make eye contact... Like the little old lady with a hand written sign for "baby bath robes, " or the tacky sequined purses & jewelry. There was a pretty good selection of food trucks... Maybe 5 or 6 with pizza, BBQ, tacos, cupcakes, and coffee & smoothies. Calling this a farmers market is very misleading. We stayed only 10min grabbed a cupcake and did our produce shopping at Whole Foods!

If you can't find a reason to visit this market, make on up. Whether you're in need of produce, flowers, food, meal prep, gifts or just a reason to get out of the house. I was most surprised by the amount of quality textiles, jewelry and clothing. There were a lot of oohh's and ahhh's while walking these booths. You have your typical farmer's market vendors but then so much more. I have to give honorable mention to Eternal Buzz Coffee. The wife and husband duo, Rachel and Vito, run this amazing nonprofit. This booth was too hopping not to notice! They were not only whipping out amazing authentic British scones and real Italian roast coffee drinks, but they were passionate and so very genuinely kind. The fairgrounds are easy to navigate and not too big, it's almost all paved as well now. Plenty of parking and easy in and out. They run the best markets in the area for sure. We have sold and attend them for years.

Wednesdays from 4-8pm starting June 4 and running till August 27…read more The market is located next to the newly finished "Petal Porch" running a block long on Prospect St between Main & Elm St. The market has a wide variety of vendors: honey, jewelry, kettle corn, coffee beans, sweets, spreads, artisan goods, pet treats, soaps, candles, and more! The market has some brick and mortar stands as well as true small businesses. Some vendors will be rotated while others will be weekly staples. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing about some of the vendor's products and where their business started! Roselle is the perfect addition to the "french market" cities and I cannot wait to visit again soon!

My shopping companion and I got a few for breakfast; the steak empanada reminded me of a samosa with peas and even a whole olive in it, but my favorite was the ham and cheese. And that crust: so tender, so flaky, I'm thinking it had lard and I don't even care. They were so good we swung back by for a second helping before leaving the market! Alice's Corner was definitely a memorable spot at the French market, and worth looking into for your catering needs.

We had excellent service , they had a fresh refrigerated condiment table , fast and efficient service. Their food is from Reams meat market in Elburn ,IL. The hot dogs ,bratwurst and polish sausage were served hot and fresh! We had the choice of chips and drinks.

Wife and I were at the Rock the Runway event @ the Palwaukee airport…read more Out of all of the food truck vendors on-site, we chose Golden Eagle Hot dogs. A poor choice on our part and very disappointed overall. Hot dogs were cold to the touch like they had been sitting out for a half hour or were barely cooked. Although the young man inside the truck stated the hot dogs were 100% beef, it almost seemed like they had the texture and look of the chicken-pork variety. All of the available chips were all thrown/mixed into a large cooler as were the available drink choices. (no sugar free or diet drinks of any kind were available when we were there) The table with condiments was 90% empty and obviously hadn't been maintained or replenished. Might just be because they were at a large-scale event and couldn't keep up or just had a bad day. Regardless, we don't need to risk getting food poisoning/etc. (luckily, we didn't) Will definitely steer clear of them if they are at next years event.
