I will begin by saying that I have never been so happy and impressed with a contractor of any type, ever! The overwhelming success of this project began well before this beautiful retaining wall to extend our patio was completed. The project began with a complete landscape design by Sarah. We are so happy with the plan in and of itself. It is very professional and detailed and includes a top to bottom approach including hardscapes, walkways, storage areas and every plant and tree including maintenance instructions. Sarah determined that beginning with extending the patio would be the best place to begin as we would receive the biggest bang for the buck, and she was right on! Prior to the work we received a detailed estimate of costs breaking it down between materials and labor. Both Robert and Sarah worked hard to make this wall come in at our budget and they were successful. At this point we were so impressed with their professionalism and customer service that we were excited to have them come do the work. As the project began early in the morning on a Saturday it became evident within 30 minutes that we had a PRO team on the job! Robert and his crew, Louis and Sergio worked for two full days and knocked it out in record time. Honestly, I don't know how they did it, but they did it with class, professionalism and an uplifting and positive attitude. I kept pinching myself throughout the project, feeling so lucky to have this team at our home. I have had rotten experiences in the recent past with contractor who are not honest, take twice the time stated to complete the project, or not complete it at all. So I can't begin to truly express my gratitude to Robert, Sarah and the guys at Artistic Landscapes for their commitment to quality and customer service. Just look at the pictures of this wall and you will see what I mean about QUALITY. It doesn't get any better than this! We had moved into a house with a pleasant little backyard with virtually no landscaping. After our second wet season of having dogs and kids tramping mud all over our kitchen floors, we decided to have work done to remedy the obvious water issues we were having in our backyard. We did what any good homeowner does and talked to multiple companies. Five, to be exact. Being an amateur designer, I planned out our dream backyard and had all of them quote on the same thing and then reviewed all the bids to make sure they were comparable (on a spreadsheet). We reached back out to some to make sure the material pricing was comparable, and no one was pricing a higher quality product or over engineering anything. I will tell you that Artistic Landscapes was NOT the lowest bid we received, but also wasn't the highest. What really gave us confidence was that the owner came out and talked through the actual issues we were having with drainage and came up with a solution that was neither intrusive nor broke the bank. We are very happy with our choice. The Artistic Landscape team went above and beyond working quickly and doing REALLY hard labor to break up our rocky ground. They bent over backward catering to my knit picky demands. Most importantly, they were extremely respectful and clean. We have had other contractors that left their tools out at night between workdays and Artistic Landscape always picked up everything and never left any trash. We have now been living with a lush, green yard for six months through the rainy season. Dog paws come in dry and the kids always want to play outside while we like relaxing in our outdoor living space and getting our hands dirty in our new garden. After many years of trying to figure out what to do with our yards, my husband and I decided to hire a professional. Robert did our neighbor's yard 3+years ago and it looks great. Robert came out and walked through the yards with us, asking questions and listening to my requests. I told him over all I just want a low maintenance yard with pops of color, no bark (I like river rock) and a flowering tree, or a "weeping tree" what ever would work. I told him, this is your job, you know what looks good. If I knew what to do I wouldn't hire someone. I trust you, knock yourself out. He did just that! My yards looks great! He put in path ways I didn't know I needed but will make going from the front to the back much easier. He not only gave me a beautiful Magnolia Tree but a "weeping" cedar as well! Lots of color, 2 camellias, heather, all sorts of plants. Hydrangeas across the back fence. It is beyond my expectations. Putting my faith and trust in Robert was the right thing to do. He clearly heard what I wanted and incorporated it in to his over all vision. Luis and his crew were great. Nice and fun guys. They even moved some heavy things around the yard for me. Always willing to answer no doubt stupid questions, and explain things to me. Again I had very little to do with the lay out, I told Robert to do what he thought would look nice. We chose Artistic Landscapes as they have been doing our landscape maintenance over the past few years. They always did excellent work. When we decided to re-do our backyard, we had no hesitations in hiring them. Robert worked with a plan drawn up by a landscape designer and he added some of his (and our) special touches. The project was big. We have a large backyard and they took out almost everything including a cedar deck, a cement patio, two large trees and dozens of shrubs. Next was installation of a new sprinkler system over our entire property, landscape lighting, a beautiful paver patio, a gorgeous water feature, a new sod lawn, dozens of new shrubs, trees and flowers. They hired a great fence builder, a real pro of an electrician then added some extra special touches to our front and side yards. One of the things that really impressed me was how well they cleaned up our property the end of each day. They really cared about our lives during the construction. We are so happy with their work. Was it expensive? Yes, but they were generous in various discounts along the way. We feel we got our money's worth and then some. The pictures say it all. We contacted Robert in early spring to get a quote on a project to completely redo our entire yard - Hardscape pathways, new sod, new plant material, retaining wall and paver patio. We scheduled an appointment and he arrived and enthusiastically listened to our ideas and budget. Within a week, we received a thorough, itemized quote. After a few amendments, which Robert was very accomodating with us, we scheduled the project. The project took several weeks, and the finished project exceeded our expectations in every element. During the project, we wanted to make some changes and Robert was very patient. He listens well and his experience shows because you can discuss a somewhat vague idea of what you want, and he can execute and deliver a result that is a better than you envisioned. Typically, the project was performed by two of Robert's crew. The foreman on our project, Luis, was spectacular. He directed his co-workers well, he worked extremely hard and smart, his work product was exceptional. His attention to his craft is obvious. The work site was clean every evening. Our front yard now looks amazing, thanks to Robert and his terrific crew at Artistic Landscapes. Our experience was great from beginning to end. Robert came out quickly to hear our dreams for our project (complete redesign of the front and side yards) and provided a timely and reasonable quote for their services. The project was scheduled for early spring and began on the date promised. Robert's design is beautiful and he incorporated a few of my ideas as our discussions continued throughout the project. The work was painstakingly completed and we were impressed by the amount of care taken by the crew. Only the highest quality materials (rock, stone, plants, trees, lights, irrigation) were used. Because we wanted to incorporate a pagoda into the design, Robert adjusted the plant choice at the end to go in a more Asian garden direction and we were extremely pleased to see our vision come to life. Robert communicated with us at least daily with schedule, design, and materials updates and he and his crew were extremely courteous and respectful throughout the entire process. Artistic Landscapes finished our entire property this summer - there wasn't an area untouched. From our initial meeting, I could tell Robert was passionate about his craft, very knowledgeable and trustworthy. I let him know basically what I wanted but I let Robert, Sergio and his crew take the reign on design and functionality on what they thought would look best. And let me tell you...we are BLOWN AWAY. Artistic Landscapes is great! Robert and his crew provided professional, diligent, and beautiful workmanship with our new hard-scapes and plantings and it has improved our curb appeal 100%. From refreshing and improving our existing flagstone patio, garden beds and paths at the back & side of the house to completely re-doing the front by installing a stunning paver driveway and curved new path to our front door, along with beautiful plantings all around the house. Additionally, they reinstalled a better irrigation system. It took a while to get scheduled, as they obviously take great care with their work and had numerous projects going on. Robert, the owner, listens to the customer and makes sure the vision is completed exactly as the customer requested. Sergio, the supervisor who worked at our home, manages his team expertly. The crew are really hard workers and kept our yard neat for the duration of the project. They made sure to leave our yard better than when they arrived. Sergio edged our lawn, reseeded our lawn where needed. He added mulch to our existing flowerbeds and borders! Thank you so much! He was recommended by a friend, and when he came to look at our front yard, he just came alive with ideas. His first bid was a little over the top for my taste, but his second bid incorporated my ideas plus things I wouldn't have thought about. The final product was a delightful blend of lawn, shrubs, boulders, and even a flagstone path to a garden bench. I was very impressed with the workers led by Sergio as they were hard working, respectful and friendly. I especially liked that they got in touch with Robert immediately when he wasn't on site, and we ran into an unexpected glitch. Refresh of front garden with river rock and plantings. Laying path through trees in backyard, planting trees, and creating "pebble beach". I also use them for monthly maintenance. As usual they did an amazing job. Robert is a joy to work with and his crew members are all excellent workers. My beautiful front yard was originally designed and created by Artistic Landscapes. It is Asian inspired with a dry river rock creek bed and appropriate plantings. This job was to refresh and tweak the design a bit. The back yard jobs were somewhat unusual requests, but Robert and his crew came through with flying colors. In 2021 we needed to landscape our backyard (new subdivision, so only dirt and weeds). Robert and his crew were fantastic. Robert worked with us to design a beautiful landscape with a water feature that was within our budget. We LOVE the yard! We also have Artistic Landscapes do maintenance every two weeks. We were having a bit of an issue with a new crew. After talking to Robert, the issues were resolved and the crew pruned some bushes in front and took care of some going-out-of-control plants.
