I'm almost 100% certain the nail salon I went to today wasn't called artistic nails. I think it was called Bella something or another. Anyways. I came in today purely by chance. My dog was getting PT at the vet rehab hospital across the street and I looked down and my nails were in some desperate need of love. I walked to perfect salon (?) next to the optometrist but they were sooo packed. They told me I had to wait an hour. No chance, my dogs appointment would be over in an hour. So I walked down following yelps advice there was another salon and behold Bella (something or another). Only one technician was present at the time and no customers. I began to feel anxious but gave it a try anyways. Cue Hannah, a very friendly Vietnamese nail technician. She made me feel very comfortable and yet while this place isn't as fancy as my usually spot, that offers wine or sparkling water it was perfect for the quick coat of paint I needed. I got gel done, when usually get dipping powder, because I was in a rush and Hannah recommended gel. I can't say I'm not pleased with her work. The coats are even, she did a great job cleaning up my cuticles. At the end she even gave me an arm massage. It came out to be $30, which I'm kind of sure is more expensive than LA prices. Back in LA they all charged $25, seems like LO isn't cheaper than LA in this respect. Hannah did good work and I'm fairly certain I'll come back to see how her pedicures job is. read more

I went in to Artistic Nails while waiting for the DMV. I was greeted quickly, sat quickly and my nail tech was amazing. I had just gotten my nails done at another salon and the shape was wrong and the color and paint job was terrible. She fixed them perfectly and listed to what I wanted, she even said the first color I picked was less pink than she thought I wanted, and she was right! My mom, my aunt, my sister, and I all went yesterday. My mom and sister had been there before and loved it. The previous reviews kind of scared me but I went in with an open mind. First off they were on time and got all four of us started and finished in the same amount of time. This is awesome compared to most nail salons that say they can get you and you friend in and you end up waiting for one person to get done and then the other. They were extremely friendly and actually talked to us. Most of the time I feel like at nail salons they do not want anything to do with a conversation and just want to get you in and out. But they were awesome and willing to have a conversation with us. The shellac job was great. It is on my nail, not on my cuticles at all. Also, it's not too think which can cause it to peel easy as well. Oh and they didn't try to push any other services on us. Which I don't mind because, hey that's part of their job! But it was nice that they didn't. I will definitely go there again! read more

My daughter and I have gone here twice and will not be returning. On our first visit my shellac manicure was peeling after 1 1/2 weeks. On our second visit the person who did my mani and pedi was great-her name is Lein. The person who did my daughter's mani/pedi was not. It has been one day since her manicure and the nail polish is already bubbling. As my daughter was leaving she gave her technician an $8 tip-the technician looked at her and said-"is that all for the 3 of us" not realizing I had already tipped the person who worked on me. If I was still in the shop I would have taken the $8 back and left! Seeing what a horrible job she did-she really didn't deserve any tip. Since when are tips required ?!?!? TACKY and RUDE !!! I also think it's rude when they speak in their native tongue (vietnamese) knowing full well that the customers have no idea what they are saying. I came here because I bought a Groupon for mani-pedi 20$. The technician talked me into shellac and I agreed with an extra 12 $ pay. After I left the salon I noticed that most of my shellac manicured fingers had bubbles and not equaly painted, some longer some shorter. It looked just not professionally done. My co-workers at work were agreed on how bad my manicure looked. I called and came the next day to get my nails redone, expecting appology and good job. When I arrived, my manicured nails were carefully examed by all of the technician and I was told that nothing really wrong with them and some of them painted short because my nails already unequally grow (in less then 24hours!!) After all the arguments, some of my nails were redone (not all of them, but I was too upset to continue to argue) with better quality. I will never be back. read more

So I went to Instyle nails a few days ago. And it was first time at this location. The nail artists were very nice and accommodating. I really liked how fast they were able to do my nails! They were fast, but also efficient. The quality of my nails turned out great. My only complaint would be that sometimes their attention would on personal things instead of the job, but because they were so fast, I overlooked this. Also, ad this may just be my own preference, but I prefer hen the nail artist is gentle and not too rough. The person who helped me handled my hands and nails with care, and I found this not only professional considering their speed, but also a relief because I've had bad experiences. So there you have it! I recommend giving this place a try! read more

A friend and I had a groupon at this place for a mani/pedi for 24.00 which is a steal. However, you get what you pay for. We did make appointments for saturday afternoon as well. (It's a fairly small place and hard to accomodate a lot of people at once so I would strongly suggest you make an appointment.) After buying the groupon I wasn't expecting much, but it was pretty pleasant for what you pay for. We both got foot massages, as well as a foot mask (which tingled and felt awesome) and a foot/leg scrub, and they did an OK job on the pedicure/manicure, I've had better. I had forgotten my nail file/scrub set, so I had to pay 2.00 more which wasn't a big deal. They did ask if we wanted shellac manicures instead of regular manicures and asked if we wanted flowers on our toes (at an additional price of course) which is normal. My friend and I both denied the additional services and they were nice about it and not pushy. The women were very nice in there (considering they've been scrubbing and filing gross feet and toenails all day...) But overall, it was a fairly good mani/pedi for what you pay for. It's great if you are in need of a quick clean up on your feet and hands. read more

I called to book an appointment and the lady who answered the phone said that they are closed and to please call back tomorrow. I won't be calling back because it is highly unprofessional to answer your phone when you are closed and tell the customer to call back. I'm not about to waste my time or money when there are some really good nail sails around including Nail Savy in Hillsdale. Every experience at Nail Savy has been above and beyond. This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had at a nail salon. They kept piling on additional fees so that even with my $24 groupon mani-pedi, I had to pay an additional $22 to get what I thought was already included in my groupon. My french manicure looks like I did it myself. There is a hair stuck in one of my nails (the hair is not mine) and there are particles stuck in the clear polish all over my nails. The lines are wavy on my french manicure, the polish is bubbled, and 2 of my fingers look like they have already chipped. The worst part is that while the lady was doing my toes she grabbed a tool from the lady next to her to clip my cuticles- the same tool the other lady used on the girl next to me! Gross! Never go here. I used to only go to Nail Garden. I tried this place out. I will never go back. I miss Nail Garden already! read more

Love this place! I've been going here for over 10 years. When they opened their 2 location I moved with Van. She is the only person I will let do my nails. I bought a Groupon for a manicure/deluxe pedicure, like a previous reviewer. Katie was nice and did a decent job. She gave me a good, but short massage. Towards the end of my pedicure, three women came in (also Groupon customers). I could tell the salon had overbooked and knew my manicure would be rushed at that point, which it was. She only applied one coat of polish to my fingernails, which I am pretty sure was due to a customer waiting for her pedicure to begin. The atmosphere is not great here. It was an OK experience, but I doubt I would return. I prefer In Style Nails. read more

I won't be back. I went in with a Groupon and found out you get what you pay for. They were terribly unfriendly to the point that I felt guilty for making them work on my feet. It kind of ruins the whole relaxing spa experience when they act miserable and like they are doing you a favor. I realize giving pedicures isn't that fun or exciting, but please don't act like you are being held hostage and being forced to do them. You are getting paid! Anyway, they day I went, my friend came with me, but we arrived separately. For some reason I cannot understand, they put us across the room from each other so we had to shout across the room to have a conversation, which was very awkward. I think they had filled up the foot soaks across from each other and when they realized we were together, instead of providing reasonable customer service by empting one bowl and moving us together (it is just water, for goodness sakes- it is not going to make or break your business. Well, it might break it eventually with the bad yelp reviews), they just had us hunker down and do the services across the room. Oh, also, my biggest pet peeve, which happens at many salons- they were talking to each other in their native language during much of the pedicure. I just think that it is rude to have side conversations in front of customers in any language, but seems even worse in foreign languages because I always feel like they are talking about me. read more

I went in on a weekday morning with a groupon for a main-pedi. It was $24 for both and I wasn't expecting much. I was delighted that the deluxe manicure included both a scrub and mask. I love this place!!! All the nail tech's were wonderful and friendly. Of course they speak in their native tongue (Vietnamese) as do most nail tech's in most places. Shelac manicures are supposed to last 1 1/2 to 2 weeks max. I love mine and it has lasted longer than most places! What a comfortable, quiant place. I will be going back! I will never go back. The owner was rude and while I was there she was rude to a walk-in customer. The woman who came was an older woman (maybe in her 70's) and she thought she had an appointment at this nail salon. Apparently, she didn't since there is another salon out there also called Artistic Nails. She was awful to her. The older women could not understand the problem (mostly due to the language barrier), the owner kept repeating herself and louder each time. She frustrated the older woman who just left confused. Then the worst part is she told all the customers and technicians around her how frustrated she was that she had to repeat herself so much and that the older woman was making her mad and wasting her time. She went on and on about it. She didn't even offer to help her or make her an appointment at that location. It was terrible. They have a very small space and they were rushing my manicure and pedicure. The manicure was poorly done and I took the polish off as soon as I got home. The pedicure was ok but nothing great either. The technicians are all vietnamese and they were talking quite a bit to each other back and forth in their language which was upsetting the customers. I could tell by watching that no one appreciated that. Just TOO many reasons not to go. I'm telling all of my friends not to go there. I have never complained or written a review but I thought how they treated the woman was absolutely UNACCEPTABLE! You really need to know that. read more
