I requested an appt today 7/22/24 on Yelp. Owner got back to me very quickly. I set my appt up within min. Inside is very bright, clean and organized. They have multiple colors to choose from which is nice. My nail technician was nice, friendly and quiet...which as an introvert, I liked it very much. She was very gentle and precise with the almond shape I requested. She kept going back to file the nail so it would match the other nails. My pictures are exactly what I requested. I would definitely book at Perfect Solar nails again. I paid $61(manicure, nail kit, and $5 extra for cat eye gel)
I honestly hate to write this review because I have had positive experiences here in the past and the owner, Lieu, is so nice- but I had a HORRIBLE and borderline traumatizing experience here today and I honestly don't think I'll ever come back. I've been getting dip manicures here for months now. I somehow keep getting paired with a nail tech named Kim who seems to really dislike me for whatever reason, and she made it extra clear today. She's honestly always had an attitude towards me. I just brushed it off all the other times because you never know what kind of day someone is having or what they're going through, but today was truly awful. She was filing off the dip from a previous manicure but she was doing it too aggressively to the point where my hand jolted back involuntarily because it hurt so bad. She got too close to my actual nail and it was PAINFUL. After my nails had soaked in acetone for a bit, she went back over them with a different file. That same nail was really sensitive and my hand pulled back again as she was going over it. She tried to blame it on whoever did my previous manicure (I had them done in CA and they put the dip on a bit thinner than they do at this salon) at which point I said- they put the dip powder on thin yes, but my nail hurts from your filing. I said it in a straight voice. I wasn't trying to be rude or offend her, I was just being honest and letting her know that she was going a bit rough. However, she got super offended. At this point, she throws her hands up and says "you know what, I can't work with you! I don't feel comfortable working with you!" Causing a scene in front of the entire salon and all the other customers and workers there. Everyone was looking over at us. I said okay, you don't have to work on me... She kept going "I can't work with you! You make me feel like I'm doing a bad job. You make me feel like my work is bad. I don't feel comfortable with you. This is the 3rd time now and I can't work with you!" I was in shock. I apologized and said "I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you feel bad or like you're doing a bad job, but that really did hurt me..." I could barely get a word in. She just kept repeating over and over again "I can't work with you. I don't want to work with you. I don't feel comfortable with you." I said, "okay that's fine. Honestly I don't feel comfortable either, I could always tell you didn't like me." Because honestly EVERY time that i've come in and been paired with her, she makes an annoyed face and is just super short and cold with me the entire time. I think there was one time where I came in and she was actually kind of friendly towards me. Then she calls the owner over to tell her that she won't work on me. They didn't have anyone else available to work on me at the time so once the rest of my previous dip powder was removed, I left- feeling completely humiliated. When I got in my car, I could see her talking about me to a client- it was very obvious from their body language that they were talking about me. It was super upsetting to see after I had just walked out of there completely embarrassed. Mind you, this isn't the first time I've had issues with her. A few months back I had a manicure with her and she was filing my nails so aggressively with the regular file and it was actually digging into the skin of my fingertip - to the point where it left an INDENT for WEEKS until the skin finally grew back. When I tried to tell her that she was digging into my skin with the file, she said "just be quiet and let me do my job." I should've just left right then and there and never came back but I was taken aback. I also assumed that I would be paired with different nail techs if I came back but somehow I kept getting paired up with Kim. It was super uncomfortable for me but I just tried to deal with it because I wasn't trying to cause a scene and I thought maybe she's the only tech that does dip at this salon. So the fact that she caused a scene today and tried to make me look bad in front of a salon full of people simply because I spoke up about her being too rough with me, when this isn't the first time that she's hurt me by being too rough- was just incredibly upsetting and uncalled for. I can be particular about my nails- I like them to be filed a certain way and I don't like when they look crooked. But I am never purposely rude or problematic. However, I will speak up if I am literally IN PAIN or if the nail tech isn't quite doing what I asked for. Going to the nail salon should be a relaxing, positive experience. I shouldn't have to feel tense for the 1-2 hours that I'm sitting there and I shouldn't be in pain. The treatment I experienced today was uncalled for and caught me completely off guard. I left the salon distraught, in tears, without the manicure I came for. I spoke with the owner afterwards and she was apologetic and understanding, but I'm not sure if I'll ever come back.
I found out this year how much I love getting my nails done regularly. It is my kind of self care and I cannot wait to try out a new color every time I have my appointment! I was lucky enough to get Lieu as my nail technician. She is the owner of Perfect Solar Nails and is very skilled, friendly and welcoming. She had come highly recommended to me, so I was glad I was able to get time with her. I wasn't sure what to expect. Sometimes I feel pressured to have to hold up a lengthy conversation (Sometimes a gal just wants to sit and enjoy her 'me time', you know?) but Lieu's salon was relaxing and calm with a smattering of chit-chat and light music. I knew I could have friendly banter and then space out a bit while she worked on my nails. I keep my nails relatively short and appreciate that she checks in with me throughout the appointment to confirm that they are the shape and length that I prefer. My appointment takes a little less than 1 hour for refill and polish. I know I can be in and out and get on with my day with a big ole grin on my face. I love that I have a reliable nail salon right down the street from me that does a great job and makes sure I'm able to get in for appts regularly. Love local small woman owned businesses!
Messaged through Yelp this morning for appointment request and received response within moments (before 8AM)! They were able to schedule me same day at my preferred time frame. I met with Lili who guided me away from my original request, and I am so thankful! She expertly recommended a service I had never heard of that she thought I would prefer the end result of better based off my existing dip manicure she was removing and photo concept of what I was hoping for and I had no idea how to describe! Lili did an amazing job and I am so happy- the attention to detail is something I've never experienced. I will definitely be returning and have my next appointment already scheduled so I don't miss my opportunity to have Lili as my nail artist again. Final result: French ombré with airbrush technique on builder gel with chrome finish.

My first time, Lieu removed my tips and put on new ones and reshaped it to be almond with a natural finish. She took a lot of time to make sure my nails were even and shaped the way I wanted. She also tested the polish color on a fake nail and asked if I was okay with the color before moving forward :) The second time today, one of the techs (did not catch her name) did a fill and a pink cateye. She kept going back to make sure the shape was right and spent a lot of time making sure i was okay with it. Always walk out feeling more confident and pretty with nicer nails can't wait to go back.

I got their deluxe pedicure and it was amazing and relaxing. It included a hot wax and hot stone therapy. She did a great job on my toes. It was a lighter foot and leg massage than I'm used to. The foot massage is my fave part and it was more of a rub than actual deep massaging. This was my first time here. read more

Wonderful and detailed work! I showed them a picture I found off of pinterest, and despite having nails in bad shape, they really delivered! My technician checked with me every step of the way to ensure they looked the way I wanted. I was so appreciative of the time she spent making magic happen! My nails were too short for the chosen design, so she added tips to get the almond shape required for the design. The nails ended up being $80 (pre-tip) for everything (dip powder, nail tips, a cute design). I'm not sure if that's standard, and honestly not sure how much of a bill I was generating as I sat there, but she spent so much time on them, I felt like the price was appropriate (though for me, it was definitely a splurge $$$). I don't get my nails done often, so I can't say whether this is competitive with other salons. I do wish in general nail salons would offer more transparency so I know if I'm going above my budget. I made an appointment by calling, they were able to get me in easily. Parking is easy, the place seems popular (steady flow the whole time) so I'd recommend getting an appointment. They seem to have a lot of regulars, everyone was making their next appointment before leaving, so that's a good sign! My nails lasted 3 weeks which was incredible! Will definitely be back if I need an awesome design on dip powder nails. read more

Literally perfect! I was scrambling to find an appointment amongst the wave of prom goers and other graduates, and was responded to very quickly and able to fit me in! My nail tech did a wonderful and detailed job on my nails, following a picture I had envisioned them to be. It's a great place to get your nails done!!! read more
Before quarantine I got my nails done religiously every two weeks, hands and feet! I had to take my acrylics off weeks ago after they were too grown out. Anyways finally after not having nails and my feet badly in need of some polish I booked an appointment at Perfect Solar Nails with Tina. I walked in and they took my temperature, everyone wore masks (don't forget yours) & had me wash my hands. Everything was done according to protocol and I filled out a sheet with my info. Anyways to the nails . . Tina did a wonderful job. She took her time and was so gentle, but finished in a timely manner. That's so important because how many others hate when they leave with cuts or scrapes from the dremel or hate sitting there forever while someone is being careful but slow? Tina did everything efficiently and with the safety & quality in mind. I got a gel polish change on my feet with two acrylic nails (big toes) $33 & my hands I received a new solar ombré set - I requested coffin shape with narrow sides ($68). Thank you for getting me in and helping return me to myself. It's so crazy how insecure we can get without a proper manicure and our feet done. Absolutely impressed with this place. Not only do they do amazing work but they are extremely kind. I noticed they deal with some difficult customers but they still manage to be extremely attentive and understanding. I got dip with an extension done and I'm obsessed. Overall highly recommend this place. Always remember to be kind to your nail techs! read more
Simply a wonderful experience! It is not often that you find a salon where every single staff represents an experienced, knowledgeable and kind person. Emmy gave me with my first pedi in over two years. She did not hurt me and delivered a great leg massage. The water, stones and paraffin all were at a perfect temperature. Professional! Of course every chair has its own plastic-lined bowl and the background music is chill. Easy parking outside and you know why this place deserves 5 stars! Definitely recommend. read more

I found Perfect Solar Nails four years ago and will never go anywhere else. Tina is an artist! She is so meticulous and considerate of my preferences. Came here after having a bad experience at a nail salon in Oregon City because I saw a great review here on yelp. Wow were they right! My nails went from crap to Gorgeous in 2 hours! I was amazed as a nail tech she could correct what the other girl did wrong. My nails were flat not curved like our natural nail beds are. Won't go anywhere else. Get pedicures here too!!!! read more

Talk about heaven sent! Lieu is amazing! She's a perfectionist. She listens.. and is patient. I wasn't planning on going to her but it kind of just happens and in so glad I decided to give a nail shop a shot. Ever since I moved here, I have been going to one person, someone home based. So this was out of my confront zone. I'm a strong believer of reviews, so I started reading and was torn. Take my advice yall- all the negative that you see in any reviews, management has gone out of their way to do right by the customer or the customers having a bad day and solar nails got the worst of it. read more
