I was visiting the area from out of state and didn't have an appointment. I figured for a Thursday morning, it wouldn't be too hard to get my nails done and I was right. Thankfully, an appointment fell through and the took my bright in. It's nice, also that they advertise to accept walk-ins. Kim was so sweet and did a beautiful job on my dipped manicure. Went in week of Dec 18 for a new full set and pedi using regular polish on my toes. I got one of the last holiday appointments of that day and week she said. I arrived and was quickly seated into my massaging chair. I have mixed feelings on salons where I can't get the mani started while my pedi is going on with two attendants. Understandably the salon was very busy this day which meant I had the same person helping me in sequential order first on my toes then onto my nails. Pedi was nice but very brief om the foot massage. Price was average for included services. Things went less ideal with my full set. I showed them several reference images of shape size and style. However- with my French tip black look, after the second round of dipping on finger 4 noticed I could clearly see my natural finger nails still under the gel and tip. The black tips that were created were gar too narrow. I asked the lady who was doing my nails of that's intended and she said yes. I then asked Sarah who was the manager in the station next to me and she agreed it should have all been created covering the nail tip. She said it was too late to fix and as a compromise they could apply a shellac glitter top coat to help blend in the sparkle tip not covering my natural ends. I was not angry at this time but I was disappointed and annoyed I didn't get what I asked for. I appreciate they still found a compromise but every time I look at my nails I can see my natural nail and hope next time the application and technical fitness of creating French tips is better. read more

First time trying out this salon and I had a great experience! I got the deluxe pedicure and it was so relaxing and made my feet all nice and clean. They also had massage chairs which was a nice touch while getting your nails done. Lily was awesome and went above and beyond to make my nails beautiful. they truly did such a terrible job on my nails. I've gone to Uganda and when I was there they had better quality for cheaper prices. the nails that I got are for my audition process for college and they turned out horrible. this place is fine for single color nails but others wise don't come. they also don't give you really any treatment when you get your nails done for $70. also the place sometimes does NOT clean their tools. Bad experience here! Went for delux mani pedi. Very young tech, no English so difficult to communicate. Am disabled with a cane and was asked to walk on slippery tile floor with oil on bare feet to manicure station. Cuticles worse than when I came in. I haven't had a pedicure where I was very unhappy for awhile. Until I came here. The massage was the weakest one I've had. Basically just dragging their hands along your feet. My daughter was with me and they barely provided her with a service. They flew through the process to seemingly get it over with. I assume because she's a kid. I'm not saying you have to be a full on spa for a kid pedi, but at least try. My big toe nail was cracked at some point. I didn't even notice until later. I'm thankful it didn't hurt because it was halfway in the middle of my big toe. And the worst part... I was walking afterwards and looked down. I noticed my toenails were cut, but they didn't remove the dirt as most places will routinely do - you know just run that little silver pick around. So there was gunk literally sitting on top of my toes. And she still painted my toes ignoring the glaring lint particles. The paint job was poor. There were visible parts of my toes not painted. This place was packed full of people soon after they opened. So they must do a good job if they have a large loyal customer base. I can't figure out why they treated us so poorly and why we received awful service. I do not plan on ever coming back here. I feel bad to say bad things about a small owned business, but it was really unbelievable. read more

I am so glad I received a gift certificate here, this place is amazing!!!! The deluxe pedicure was a great deal for $40, and the gel manicure Annie did was the BEST I've ever had. My nails couldn't be any more perfect. I couldn't find my gift certificate in my email at the end of my appointment so I just paid cash, but no worries because I will definitely be back soon. The salon also has punch cards and a huge selection of gel colors. Everyone was very friendly. I will recommend to this salon to all my family and friends in the area. A reliably good neighborhood nail salon. Kind and lovely staff who do an excellent job. My shellac manicure can last up to three weeks. I have been a customer for many years. I really like this place. My only complaint is that every time I go in, every surface feels dirty and grimy. The tables, nail counters, plastic partitions, everything could really use wiping down after every client. The salon is not dirty in the sense that it is unsafe or unhealthy. They do a thorough job at cleaning tools and using new nail files on every customer. It looks like they do a regular deep clean. It just makes me uncomfortable and keeps me from giving this business a five star rating. If they could clean all surfaces after every customer, this would easily be my favorite nail salon in the entire Portland area. They are that good at doing nails. ** Review changed to reflect that the salon manager offered a discount on my daughter's next set of nails for the trouble. * This is my favorite nail salon in the area: I have been going regularly for 6 months. Normally, I would give a 5 star review. This is a small place: There are only 6 manicure stations and about 8 pedicure seats - you must move between the two. The skilled staff is great at what they do, as long as you aren't looking for nail art - they seem to specialize in basics but struggle with more elaborate designs. I love their dip powder, which lasts weeks without any cracking or problems, longer and better than other salons I've tried! Instrumental music is played and overall everything is comfortable. They give the best pedicure massages without an overwhelming "menu" of choices. Everyone is friendly, although English is VERY limited so you need to bring pictures if you're trying to ask for anything specific. If you're uncertain whether your tech can understand you, ask for Sarah - she can facilitate -but she will also be the busiest person in the salon, so if you may need to wait until she can confirm that you will get what you are asking & paying for. Unfortunately, today I simply cannot give a high review, and I feel this experience is important for anyone considering taking their child or first-time teen. (Ideally, the salon should also make ways to improve.) I had called in advance for our appointments - stating my 12yo daughter would be with me. We were not walk-ins. They sat us together at empty stations to start and my daughter picked out her colors. I decided to match her bold choice for fun. However, while they wrapped my previous dip powder mani for removal, they quickly took my daughter to sit far away from me. This was not right. She became VERY nervous since it was her FIRST experience with dip powder OR tips (she's been biting her nails down too far and we hope the dip will help break the habit). Being so far away from me, her mom, was more than uncomfortable for her: she could neither understand nor answer the questions about what shape she wanted, etc. No matter how much I protested, they wouldn't sit us together again for 15 minutes! Meanwhile, I was made to feel like I was inappropriately disruptive, just because I cont to remind that we were supposed to be seated together. By the time I was allowed to move so I could help facilitate communication, her tech had shaped her nails the opposite of what my daughter wanted - that SHOULD have been easy to communicate since she wanted my usual, but she didn't know what to call it. Furthermore, even though the only thing finished at that point was gluing on & cutting/filing false tips, the manager insisted it was "too late" to remove those and start over: she said that my daughter's natural nails would have been filled along with the false tips. 1) This would have been impossible since (as previously stated) her natural nails had been bitten too low even to BE filed, and 2) why refuse to use new tips to make the correct shape, like they do for broken/chipped nails?? Her tech then used our backup color choices for my daughter saying the ones she'd picked first couldn't work. I was surprised, since it had already been confirmed for us that the original colors we chose would be fine. Our techs both ignored our repeated statements that our nails were supposed to MATCH, and then my tech used my daughter's original choices on ME. From the beginning we emphasized that Her nails should match mine exactly, but instead...see pic] I'm not saying the nails themselves look terrible, although several of the tips on my daughter's hands turn upwards in awkward ways, but the experience was honestly the worst I've had yet here. I had convinced my daughter to go saying how much I usually enjoy going myself, which is true, but she left with a pretty sad experience and definitely NOT what she had clearly asked for. Furthermore, since I was only using the colors that ended up on my nails in order to match my daughter and that didn't happen, I wanted to go get mine changed immediately. However, I couldn't get scheduled until 5 hours later. I understand the salon was busy, but it seems unprofessional to dismiss a client before they are satisfied. I seriously doubt they'll have any discounted for redoing my nails anyway. The one time I was previously dissatisfied with my results, they did fix them before I left after repeated requests - unfortunately , no amount of praise can change a dissatisfied client's true feelings - and they charged me DOUBLE for starting over. I would not expect anything different after treatment like what we experienced today. This is still my preferred salon in the area, but I was most severely disappointed with the way they treated my 12yo daughter's very first experience, and how they refused to keep mother & child together. read more

Not sure how many stars to give when you've been treated differently than the other patrons in the salon and you are obviously the only different looking person in the salon. This was my first time visiting. I was a walk-in after having a wax service down the street. My initial greeting was warm and friendly. However, the tech I was assigned to didn't seem to pleased to have me as a customer. Even though I was pleasant and smiled with my eyes (mask on) when approaching her chair. Her responses to me were rather 'snappy' and impatient. And after the service she didn't say thank you or goodbye or any of the other farewell greetings the other techs gave their customers. I want to start by saying, Kiki was great. Careful, gentle, and did an excellent pedicure. On my second visit, I had, Mimi, who was not. She cut around my toes twice. I said "ouch" and her response was that I was "sensitive". And kept on. I should have left... I've had many pedicures and she was rough. The real problem was that she made such a deep cut around my left big toe that it became infected. After the pedicure, it became red and swollen and I took off all the polish. There was clear polish which went over the top of my toe, probably held the cut together, and discovered the deep cut. It was incredibly painful to the point I couldn't wear closed tip shoes for awhile. I've been on antibiotics for 2 weeks and it's slowly healing. No doubt the owner doesn't know, and the place seems nice, but Mimi, was terrible. read more

Overall, this is a very mediocre nail salon I wouldn't go back unless I was desperate or close by. The atmosphere isn't great and the people working were not very welcoming. The lady wasn't very nice, was kind of rude, seemed very rushed and didn't do a great job. We did not have an appointment which probably didn't make a huge difference. This place is great! Just a few miles down the street from my work. They were able to fix me in for a quick manicure before they closed. I did an acrylic fill since that's what I had last time since my nails all broke and I got shellac on the top. She was able to thin my nails and cut them down to make a cute natural look. She was telling me of their new product the dipping powder that is non toxic and works well for short nails. We had a nice conversation about her love for Thai food while she did my nails in pretty much an hour. I was truly happy with this set! Thanks Annie!
