Art's Bbq was a heaven sent find in Crescent City. My job during our coastal trip was finding good eats along the way to electric charging stations. (There's an EV charging station- Electrify America at a Walmart 4 min away from Art's ) It's a tiny nondescript building with a sparse, but clean dine-in area. But what lacks in the dining area is supplemented with friendly hosts and delicious flavor in their foods. We were going to take our food to go, but one grab of the bag and you can feel the generosity. We decided then to sit down at one of the 3 tables and have a bite before hitting the road. One bite turned into chowing down until we couldn't anymore. Get the bbq chicken thighs! Super juicy, flavorful and delicious. I begrudgingly gave a whole piece to my guy. Get the Flatbread as well because the next day I put the rest of my chicken with some rice into the Flatbread and wrapped it up for lunch and it was still freaking delicious! Coleslaw- perfect tangy, creamy and crunchy side to accompany all the meat. They ran out of potato salad, so I'm sure that one is killer too. Ribs were great. Tender, flavorful and not drenched in sauce which I feel lets you taste the meat better. Their bbq sauce is not too vinegary or sweet should you want to dip your ribs into it. Brisket was good, but not melt in your mouth like I've had at other places, but still solid. I wish Art's wasn't 6 hours away because I'm dreaming of their chicken right now. I should've bought 4 orders home and froze it. Hmm...Do they deliver or ship? Desperation makes you ask crazy questions. Pay no attention to the bad reviews on here. Shocking a vegetarian didn't like a BBQ restaurant! Really, you didn't like the massive amount of meat you got here? I have eaten BBQ across this country from coast to coast, and I will say this is as good as it gets in California! These guys are killing it, and it shows. The chicken and pork were moist and succulent. The coleslaw was perfect- the right acidity and texture. Even the rice was cooked better than many Chinese restaurants I've eaten in! Their barbecue sauce is spot on with the blend of spices and seasoning. The portion size for my plate and my wife's pulled pork sandwich was extremely generous. There are many restaurants that do that. The place is extremely clean, bright, and minimalist is decor. The people were very courteous and understand what good customer service is. We stumbled upon this small restaurant on our way to Point St. George and it was the best decision made that day. These guys had a small menu but they served up some seriously large servings. I had the combo with ribs (only available on certain dates - Thursday and the weekend I think) and pulled pork. This along with the potato salad and beans worked so well together I didn't need any extra condiment! For the travelers/road trippers: They have a small restroom inside that's nice and clean. Very good barbecue. I came here a while ago when visiting Crescent city with family. I had the ribs and my cousin had the brisket. I was absolutely amazed with the ribs! Probably some of the best ribs I've ever had. I came back a second time recently, actually sitting out front, waiting for them to open in anticipation, taking a detour on my way back from to Gold Hill. When I got in, I couldn't say enough about the ribs and was very excited to have them again. We had come out of our way to enjoy delicious ribs. Much to my disappointment they said they did not have ribs and would not for at least two hours. I was very disappointed and really wish they had either posted that on their Website, Yelp page whatever so I didn't take all that time to go to this location for the ribs. Maybe we would've killed time doing something else because it would've been worth it. We easily have lunch and dinner for 3 plus leftovers for under 50 bucks. Wish I would've thought to ask for bbq sauce on the side for the plate, as it didn't come with any, but the meat is so flavorful you don't really need sauce. Staff was super friendly and lobby was very clean. Wish we were in town longer to try a pork chop or the chicken or ribs. Don't waste your money or time eating anywhere else in town. We were just passing through and found this place on the map app and just went for it based on the reviews. We're originally from Texas and traveled a lot, so we've had real good bbq before. Art's BBQ was real good authentic bbq. We had the brisket sandwiches, beans, and slaw and it was all great. They had two sauces to try, and you can't go wrong with their classic sauce, but the other light colored sauce was awesome. I needed some of that sauce all over a mess of fries and meat or something because it rocked. The building doesn't look like much when you park, but this place has some awesome food! My father moved to Crescent City about 3.5 years ago and I come up to visit him about 3-4 times per year. We're Armenian, so imagine our surprise last summer when we heard through the grapevine that an Armenian barbeque had opened, of all places, in Crescent City! The brothers who run Art's are incredibly nice and their food is amazing (and very authentic). As an Armenian, I think it's really cool how they've taken more traditional dishes (like lula kebab) and combined them with more American items (like BBQ beans and coleslaw). The lula kebab is, in my opinion, their best item, but my dad is a big fan of the chicken. I recommend going with a plate because the rice that comes with one is to die for (yes, rice can be to die for, you just haven't had rice made by an Armenian). Do yourself a favor and head to Art's. As someone who's tried just about every restaurant in town, this is hands-down the best food you can get here. It's quick, easy, very filling, and DELICIOUS. read more

Just bought a family meal at Arts for the first time. Way to much food for just me and my son and but wow it's good. The ribs have a nice dry rub on them and come with a mild bbq sauce on the side. The ribs were the most tender ribs I have had. ( I am originally from the SF Bay Area and have had Everitt Jones etc down there). They literally fall apart as you chew. Very tender, very juicy. The sauce is good , just a faint smoke and faint bit of heat. And generally I like my things with more heat but this was perfect . The potato salad was good as was the slaw. I have not tried the beans yet. They will have to wait for Saturday brunch . The Family meal was huge and will feed 6 adults. I let them talk me into to much lol. But you won't be disappointed .
