I have to say once again this restaurant is one of my favorite places to eat BBQ chicken, pork and beef. These brothers make one of the most amazing BBQ meat and their side dishes are truly delicious. They give you such an amazing serving and huge portions that we can literally have the BBQ meat and left over for two more meals. The amount of garlic and secret sauce to marinate their yummy beef and chicken are beyond any expectation and belief. I travel a lot and I like bbq, so naturally when I see a bbq spot I give it a try. That's how I stumbled across Art's spot. The bbq at Art's was superb. I got a variety plate with brisket, pulled pork, chicken, potato salad, and Cole slaw. My wife got the chicken Mac n cheese. I talked fishing and bbq with the gentleman at the counter, he mentioned copper top off the 395 on the way to mammoth and the Owen's river. I think his bbq tops copper top. Better BBQ than anywhere in SF! Driving through on vacation, the girlfriend and I were FLOORED by how good Art's is. Last month, we ate BBQ at the highest-rated spot in San Francisco. Art's was better. In October, I grabbed some BBQ from one of the highest-rated spots in Kansas City. Art's was better. The garlic white sauce, in particular, is to die for. The food is delicious, the portions are large, and the service is splendid. Art is also a delight to talk to, with a kind soul and a giving atmosphere. We mentioned how much we liked the white sauce and he gave us a big container to go! If I'm ever swinging through Crescent City again, I'm stopping by Art's! read more

This place seriously has the best BBQ I've almost ever had. Top 3 for sure. I've eaten BBQ all over this country and Arts has the goods. I see some reviews of people get bummed that everything isn't always on the menu. Let me just tell you, that is a sign of a great BBQ spot. They sell out. It happens regularly if you're awesome. If you have your heart set on a specific item, my advice is to call first or, just order something else. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, it's all delicious. Not a ton of dinner options in Crescent City for us travelers, but we happened upon this one. Cute restaurant a short distance from the main drag on US 101. 3 choices: BBQ chicken, BBQ pork, or beef kebabs. You can have them as a plate with rice and two sides (which are hummus, baked beans, cole slaw) or as a wrap. We sampled each of the three meats in plate form with all the sides. And, everything was excellent! The chicken and pork were cooked well; a little crisp on the outside and soft and juicy on the inside. They were cooked with middle eastern spices (flavor, not hot). The kebab was soft and flavorful. The slaw and beans tasted very southern and the hummus was great for dipping one's kebab in. As a bonus, the food was ready quickly and the staff was very friendly. We'll certainly be back next time we are in the area! read more

The food was very good. We went there based on the 5 Yelp reviews and are NOT sorry we did. We each got a combo platter of brisket and ribs with rice that was perfectly cooked and a really nice accompaniment. Our side choices were coleslaw - solid choice - not too sweet not too vinegary not too saucey. Fresh crisp veggies in a good dressing. They also had potato salad this evening which was just like we like it with a good mustard/dill dressing for it. The sides are tasty and the bar b Que is very good. We prefer the meat to be seasoned and flavorful and tender enough to eat without sauces and this didn't disappoint at all. The ribs were moist and flavorful (they were also not overpowered when we did dip them in a little sauce). The brisket was also perfectly cooked with a solid smoke ring and tender but not mush. We like it to still have some texture as opposed to be pulled pork consistency and it was beautiful. We had seen the Yelp reviews about their house special garlic white sauce so I asked for some of that on the side and (figured we'd decide what to do with it once we tried it). It was fabulous too. We ended up dipping some of the brisket in it and they were a great flavor combination. The two of us ate a really quality tasty meal for under $40 which we are also so very pleased with. We are on a road trip and ate crappy flavorless gristly rib eyes (one 14 oz and one 6 oz) with super dead over cooked broccoli mush last night that cost us $60 before the tip. I picked the clear dinner winner so far on this trip. Thanks to the nice young man who cooked and gave us our order. Fast friendly service and good food at a reasonable price.
