We noticed something that looked odd at a joint on our roof so I called Arya Roofing to come out and take a look. Ten arrived on time, was nice, professional and knowledgeable. He explained that it was normal and that nothing needed to be done. He could have easily said differently and we'd have paid whatever to have it fixed. I also had some roofing questions for him and he was very insightful and gave great information which supported what I'd read during some roofing research. ten at arya roofing is fantastic. he was quick to respond, offered me a very competitive quote, and even agreed to take on a few extra, non-roof jobs, including reattaching some siding i couldn't reach myself. the day they arrived, i asked for one more additional thing, the cutting, bending, and installation of a piece of trim metal that was up by the roof line. i fully expected to be either told no (it's far outside the scope of work) or that i'd be charged extra. but they did it, and didn't charge me an extra dime. they were clean and professional, and left the place looking great. they also brought a special dumpster for recycling all of the old shingles, which i really appreciate. so i can't recommend these guys highly enough. they were wonderful. read more

Ten and his crew were great. He was quick to return my phone call when we first hired him and remained responsive throughout the whole project. We used Arya for new facia boards and gutters, replacement of flashing and exterior cedar shingles, and to properly ventilate the attic; including a ridge vent. His estimate was reasonable and accurate. Even when I asked to change the set work schedule around to better accommodate my travel needs, Ten complied. Ten is awesome! We had a scheduled appt. but then all these snow storms began so we couldn't get the roof done. He kept us at the top of his list and once there a was a snow-free period he came to do our roof. He showed up exactly when he said he would and the roof was completely done in 2 days. He came back once more to make sure everything looked good and was cleaned. Since we have snow on the ground he said when it melts to call him and he will come back and clean up anything that was missed. Ten and his crew are absolutely fantastic. It is refreshing to deal with a contractor who does what they say and get the job done without having to chase them. I must say I had a very positive experience with Ten at Arya Roofing. I had a very minor repair that needed to be made in Jamaica Plain, and it was difficult to get anyone to take a look at it. Initially, there had be some scheduling difficulties. As a result, Ten actually made the repair at no cost - something even the original builder didn't offer to do despite this being new construction. I'm very impressed with Ten. After reading reviews about Ten's works here on Yelp, I decided to get a quote from him. He came with his ladder in hand the next day, first thing in the morning. He didn't give me any estimation until he actually measured the size of my roof! Believe me, other contractors never brought their ladders and never put their tape measures around my roof, nor they took a look at the rear side of my roof. So, I started to make myself convinced. He suggested several options that suit my house, and even kindly gave me some helpful tips about how to fix the water-damaged ceiling INSIDE the house. We had a great communication via emails and phones, the paperwork was very thorough, and the cost very reasonable. On the day of work, Ten came with five other workers and started to work as early as seven in the morning. They removed my old roof completely and changed rotten base ply boards without any extra fees. My house looked like a newly built one when they finished the job, and much to my surprise, they finished their work in just a day! Although it was a really hot day over 90 degrees, they never complained, were always smiling, and seemed to enjoy what they were doing. I was a little worried about roof wastes around my house, but they cleaned everything before they left. No wastes, no nails, no nothing! I love their professional attitude and skills, as well as excellent communication. I would recommend Ten for your roof works with a heart beat. read more

While it is understandable that perhaps a job is not desirable for certain reasons for a contractor, still treat others with respect. read more

Ten is the most honest, patient and fair contractor I have ever had the pleasure of working with. We had a leaky roof which Ten came quickly to the rescue to and while he did some patching he told us that we needed to begin planning to replace the roof because the patching will only hold for a little while. Due to issues with our condo board, we were unable to get the roof replaced immediately and Ten was the only contractor willing to spend the time with us to patch as much as possible to buy us some time. Several months later when our condo board finally got on board with replacing the roof we got multiple estimates and found that not only did Ten have the best price, but was offering the highest quality materials. He was also the only one willing to spend considerable time with our condo to make sure everyone was happy with the approach. He was even able to accommodate our condo's timeline. In summary - Ten was phenomenal to work with and his team did a spectacular job on the roof. No more leaks and we would trust him entirely with any other work we need in the future. read more

We hired Ten Arya's team to replace a single family flat roof in Fenway, Boston in 2012 due to serious water damage problem. They did a great job, very efficient and professional. Ten Arya is outstanding. Very courteous, honest, and a skillful roofer. We have been battling with a mysterious source of rain-water leakage into our house, creating stains in our ceilings. We hired Ten last year to reinstall a deck roof in our house in Cambridge, as that was a clear suspect cause of the leaks. He arrived on time when he first came to inspect the property, sent us a proposal/quote quickly (which was very reasonable) and did the job very well. He also helped diagnose another problem on the flat part of our main roof (two vent pipes not properly flashed), which -- in the following month -- he fixed by installing pipe boots, and thereby closing out the cracks around the pipes, which could have been contributing to the water leakage. This year, after a heavy spell of rain, we saw the stains in the ceiling reappear. I called Ten, and he came and spent 30 minutes looking around carefully, and suggested we re-caulk one window -- right above the deck level and on top of the area where we are seeing ceiling stains -- as it had developed many cracks around the joints with the siding. I took care of the caulking this weekend. Ten didn't charge for that visit and inspection. He also recommended me a carpenter for staining / painting our new deck, who was very good as well. I will continue to use his company for any roof / siding need that may arise in our property, and would highly recommend him. Ten can be hard to reach at times over email. I found Arya Roofing via yelp and shopped a couple other roofers to do our roof. I could not have been more pleased with the customer relations, the workmanship and value Arya Roofing provided. Tenzin was a top-notch communicator and we had a fair amount of communication over several months due to insurance claim and a difficult neighbor - Tenzin was patient and communicative throughout, for which I am eternally grateful! The work, when it began went VERY quickly - 2 days start to finish. Clean up was good - would suggest more tarps to simplify this process in the future, but I would choose them again without a doubt.
