I would highly recommend A's Organic cleaners for anyone looking for a friendly, reliable dry cleaning place. I've been coming here for about a year now and am always please with the results of everything I've received back. Usually I just get my shirts and pants cleaned but on occasion I'll need a hem on my, and I must say they do a superb job. The staff is extremely friend, especially the man working in the front. He really cares about his customers and is always attentive when I point out a troublesome strain. This is one of the few genuinely honest places I would trust with my clothes. I've been working in the city for the past 5 years and have had many nightmarish stories. I'm glad to have finally found a place that I can rely on. Brought in my clothes and after washing they smelt extremely bad. They were wrinkled and looked AWFUL. I would not recommend them EVER.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!! I would pay not to go back. My whites came back grey, the pads on my blazer are scrunched up, and my brand new sweaters look worn out. They gave me my clothes back in a bag and when I opened it they were all wet and smelled terrible. I took them back and it happened a second time!!!!! This place was very expensive and the service was very disappointing. I gave them an expensive dress to be cleaned and when I picked it up there was a noticeable black stain on the front of the dress. This stain was not from me, as I told them I would have noticed an obvious black stain on the front of my dress. They told me it must have been my fault and refused to clean it again. I'm a little confused by the negative price comments -- organic cleaning is more expensive than regular cleaning -- and yet the prices here are still reasonable! I've tried to use organic dry cleaning for a few years now -- it's not good to dry clean your clothes regularly anyway -- so might as well pay a small premium to get the option that's better for your health. I've found A's to be consistently worth the trek 10 blocks up 1st ave (despite the higher prices.) The cleaning and minor tailoring jobs have been diligent and the service is always warm. Great service, great business. I've been coming here for a while now, and have never been disappointed by the quality and service. The price is standard, they're fast, and the staff is very nice and friendly. I recently got my dress tailored (had to cut a couple inches off the length) and I was VERY pleased by the quality of their work. The length was perfect, and the lines were straight - good as new. I've been coming to A's consistently for a year or so now and I'm really happy I've finally found a good dry cleaners in the area. The best thing about them is that the man at the counter who is always friendly and I enjoy chatting with him when I get a chance. I've gotten all the regular stuff done here, shirts, pants, dresses.. theyve always come out great. I've hemmed a few nice dresses and many pairs of jeans they always come out exactly as I want. oh and for the really negative comments here, there will always be those kind of people. I gave them a bunch of sofa sheets to clean. After charging me over $100, the sheets came back with the same stains and odor. When I complained and asked that they redo the job, the guy just refused and stated "we are organic cleaners" and that the sofa sheets were old materials. The sofa was 2 years old. What really got me was his refusal to even try and do the right thing even though he charged a lot for it. I suggest you find another cleaners. read more

Wonderful dry cleaning services in the East Village! If you live in Stuytown or the East Village, I highly recommend visiting A's Organic Cleaners. They always get all the stains and have the clothes ready on time or early. I visited a number of other dry cleaners in the area and did't have great experiences, but A's is the best - and they even managed to get a stain out of a pair of expensive pale pink pants, which no other dry cleaner in the area could do. The owner is very friendly and accommodating, always trying his best to get your clothes back to you as soon as you need them. I only ever go here! read more

Clean, friendly, and moderately priced would describe this place well. I get the wash and fold here that comes out to be $1/lb which is a pretty standard rate around this area. Laundry can be dropped off and picked up the next day or even same day if you bring it early enough and request a rush. I've never had any items lost and everything comes folded, matched, and packed up for pickup. They do dry cleaning and tailoring too but I haven't had any experience with that. If you're looking for a convenient and consistent laundromat definitely check this place out. read more

BEWARE OF THIS PLACE. First of all, they're NOT ORGANIC and Charlie was extremely rude to me on the phone twice. I simple had to cancel a pick up once and he got very mad at me. Then when I called weeks later to schedule a pick up he said he doesn't pick up in my area: we are only 5 blocks away. So he lied to me. Would NOT recommend... Go to Wu Cleaners on 356 E 19th (b/w 1st and 2nd) instead. First off ... PRICE. They charged me $70 to dry clean about 8 cloth napkins (we were hosting for thanksgiving)... They also charged me $18 for a basic tailor job to trim my work shirt's sleeve. I just got back from Wu's who charged $10... Also... ZERO customer service if you ever have a problem (which you will). They severely shrunk my girlfriend's very expensive dress and also my work shirts then were extremely rude when we asked our options to rectify the situations. Neither of us will give them our business again. Seriously, for 3 blocks it is worth your time to try the competition first. read more

A's has been able to clean pretty much anything I've brought to them, pillows, suits, etc. They also can make some minor alterations and repairs. I wouldn't go anywhere else in the area because the service has always been consistent. read more

As it's just around the corner from me, and the main man behind the counter is super friendly, I've tried to give A's Organic the benefit of the doubt, but after a few times now where my items have come back with stains in exactly the same place - I'm done. When I've brought them back to be re-cleaned I find that they are still there. Further I've noticed that while they might be cleaning items on the exterior, they do not clean them on the inside. Rude man w/ poor communication. High prices. 1) Man quoted $45 for dry cleaning of down coat. Ridiculous. 2) In effort to try and see if I could use other services, I asked about laundry by the pound. He says it's a dollar a pound but that it's 8 lb minimum. and that 8 lbs is 10 dollars, 10 lbs is 12 dollars. I say, but you said a dollar a pound. And he repeats himself. I say, so 8 lbs is 8 dollars? 10 lbs is 10 dollars? Is there a base charge? No, no, 8 lbs is 10 dollars. Anyway, this doesn't make sense and he's treating me like it's my prob I don't get it. After I left, I understood that what he meant was, it's $10 for the first 8 lbs, then a dollar per pound after. That's okay, but don't be so rude! read more

This was the worst dry cleaning experience I have ever had. Please, save yourself the headache and go somewhere else to have your clothes dry cleaned. The man at the front may seem nice at first, but he's a yeller. Yes, he yells at customers when HE is the one who has made a mistake. I dropped my clothes off here on Monday with the promise that I would be able to pick it up on Thursday. The man at the front assured me 3 separate times that my clothes would be finished by Thursday morning. My ticket even said that the clothing would be ready for pick up by Wednesday after 5:30 pm. Thursday morning comes around and I arrive at A's to pick up my clothes. I hand over my ticket and wait. After waiting for 20 minutes, the man at the front tells me that half of my clothes are there but the other half is not ready. I explain to him that I really needed my clothes and that he had assured me that I would have it by Thursday morning. He tells me if I pay for everything upfront, he will have someone bring the missing half to my office later in the day. Fine. I am not happy - but at least he is trying. I give him my cell phone number and he tells me that I should get it around 11. I pay and take the half that is done. After I get to work, the man calls to tell me that I didn't pay for all the dry cleaning. I ask him how can this be since I gave him my tickets, he rang up my amount and I gave him my credit card for the whole amount. He says he *forgot* to ring up half of the amount. Who forgets to ring up HALF of the amount when the tickets are right there? I tell him that I don't understand how this could have happened and he starts to get agitated - then, he begins yelling. Yes -he begins yelling at me. Oh - and I am still waiting for my clothes and it's 11:30. Seriously, save yourself the trouble. Go somewhere else. read more

I took several items to be cleaned. They were all inspected and marked with "stain" stickers if necessary. When I went back to pick up my dry cleaning there was a sizable stain in a straight line on a blouse (looked like it came from an iron being left on too long). When I confronted the man who worked there he suggested to me that perhaps it happened when I took the blouse off. Not only did they cause the stain, but they blamed me and then refused to right their wrong. They are the most incompetent people who lack customer service skills and clearly do not do their job. I will never go there again I would not only not recommend them but advise anyone to avoid their services at all costs. read more

A's has done a great job with tailoring and hemming for me. I took in a knee length, wool overcoat that needed to be taken in, and they did a fantastic job. I've had a number of pair of pants hemmed and repaired here. They've also done amazing denim repair. Not cheap, but definitely worth it. Recommend. read more

A few weeks ago I took my husbands suit to be cleaned. I picked it up on a Friday so that my husband could wear it to his grandmother's funeral that Sunday. When my husband opened the plastic bag he discovered the pants were missing. I immediately called As and they said they would check. They never called me back so I called them and they said that " I must have dropped the pants" because "the guy who puts the clothes on the hangers remembers putting the pants on". Really?! Of all the pieces of clothing that he handles each day he remembers putting charcoal gray pants on a hanger?! Anyway, I explained to them that there was no way I could have dropped the pants because I ALWAYS knot the bottom of the bags. I told them to please check and they said they would. When I called they asked me to bring in the suit jacket so that they could see what hanger they placed it on. So I did. I brought it in on a Monday and I told them I would give them until Friday to find the pants. When I showed up they told me they couldn't find the pants and that "the cameras show the guy putting the pants on the hanger". Also, they said they called their customers and asked them if they had anything that didn't belong to them. Really?! My husband called and spoke to the owner and asked if he would pay for the suit he said no. They offered nothing. No apology! No splitting the cost of the suit,nothing! So, I will see them in small claims court. I hope they saved those tapes from the camera's! AWFUL customer service!! read more

They laundered a couple items instead of dry-cleaning them. As a result, not only are the stains still there, it's now much less likely that a competent dry-cleaner will be able to get them out. Having the word "organic" in their name just means they charge you more. $33 for a terrible customer experience -- they refused to do anything to rectify the situation when I came back. Take your money anywhere else. read more

First of all they over charge, secondly they don't care about the quailty of their work. If you plan on dry cleaning your clothes right before a trip don't count on getting your clothes back clean. And don't expect an apology. read more

HORRIBLE. After JayDee closed on 1st and 19th St. there was nothing else close but Organic so I tried them out with a linen table runner. It wasn't cleaned properly and worst of all, they shrunk it. Sooo glad that I didn't try them out with something expensive and that I really like. Try 23rd St. bet. 1st and 2nd. I tried them with linen as well and it was all good.
